The men of the 573rd Reserve Mechanized Infantry Brigade plodded through the thick forest, their boots sucking into the mud from last night’s rains. The going was tough, as the forest was nigh impenetrable, but it had to be done to defeat what was believed to be the head of the Socialist Revolutionary Army and end the socialist rebellion that had assassinated the Emperor. The roar of IFVs and tanks trying to penetrate the woods could be heard as they thundered around trees, pulled down scrubs and did their best not to get stuck in the thick mud.

Private John Caven of the 573rd Reserve, 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion, Alpha Company hated this mission. He was a tall man, brave, and had the look of a grizzled warrior with the hard lines in his face, the dark circles under his eyes, and the scars from recent conflict. His company had encountered a rebel detachment weeks ago on the way to this godforsaken forest, and he had in the course of duty had to fend off a bayonet charge from the fanatical rebels. In the charge, John suffered a bayonet slash to the face, earning him the nickname Scar.

He surveyed the battlefield with his night vision goggles, searching ever for the elusive enemy. He heard distant gun shots suggesting that perhaps the recon battalion had encountered the enemy and intel would be forth coming. As he scanned the ghostly green images of the goggles, he caught sight of something moving, just a fleeting glimpse. What is it. He looked again in the general area, catching sight of what he assumed to be a man. Just a short glimpse, but it was enough. He whispered in to his radio, and his platoon leader ordered a few grenades launched. John readied his grenade launcher and fired. He heard no screams of pain, and, satisfied, continued to look for enemy troops. Seeing none, the advance continued into the forest.

Hours later, the men reached the rebel camp, only to find it had been deserted. Scar’s platoon was amongst the first to enter the small clearing that held a few buildings covered in camouflage netting. After searching the camp exhaustively, no men were found, and only a little of the equipment that had been stolen in a recent raid on an Imperial armory. Something was amiss.

Suddenly, rebel troops surged from the woods, assaulting the camp with reckless abandon. Artillery shells from hidden towed artillery pieces fell all around Scar and his troop. Reports reached Scar’s platoon that Beta Company had come under heavy rebel assault, Charlie company continued to find no enemy soldiers, and Alpha company appeared to be surrounded on all sides by the main rebel fighting force, strength estimated from initial reports of two companies. Delta Company, the tank company, had apparently come under heavy rocket attack in the mud and was on the verge of destruction.

Bullets fell all around Scar, and he returned fire on a group of rebel soldiers with his old AK-74 rifle. He let off two bursts, and saw with satisfaction as his target fell. He also heard the encouraging sound of friendly artillery batteries firing, hopefully taking out the stationary gun emplacements. Moments later, John saw this was not the case. Shells fell everywhere in the camp, the idea being that the battle was lost and it was time to sacrifice the men to finish off the rebels. Men were gutted from the shrapnel, and broken bodies spewed rivers of blood. The blood mixed with the wet soil to form nasty rivers of death, informing all of the horrors of war.

As Socialist forces rushed into the encampments, it became clear to Scar’s company that defeat was inevitable, and they opted to surrender to the raging socialist tide. Scar himself tried to flee, but was captured. He was brought to a socialist reeducation camp, deep in the woods of the Aliadosian Forest.

Within hours, the entire Imperial force had been either killed or captured by the rebels, providing the rebels with a much needed victory to bolster their popularity. With this victory, the SRA captured much needed armor, rifles, ammo, and even a battery of self-propelled artillery, whose men had been wavering and decided to join the socialist forces. It was a grim day for the Imperial army, for though only a small portion of it had been lost, it was a direct smack in the face to Regent Alexander Ramius, who had declared that he would act quickly to end the socialist rebellion. With this defeat, the quick victory would have to turn in to a long one.

The Socialist Leader, Ivan Kazansky, issued the following statement:
Workers! Comrades! Friends! Our forces have won a great and glorious victory for the people during the night, crushing the 573rd Brigade and bringing liberation to the workers of the nation ever closer. Join us, join the revolutionary army, and you, too, can share in the duty of liberation, can share in the camaraderie of the military. Be a part of a force greater than yourself. Fight for freedom, end the Imperial system and let us work together to form a socialist republic.”

Government Communique From The M.R.C Of Hydrosteria

To: The Third Empire Of Fluffywuffy
From: Chancellor Winston Everd Of The M.R.C Of Hydrosteria

Dear sir,

Following the truly shattering surprise attack against the now deceased Emperor, and my subsequent proximity to the event, has truly unnerved me. Although the past few days of co-operation have allowed my mind to settle, and being safe once more in governmental offices of Hydrosteria is of great comforts, I am nonetheless truly concerned of the developing situation withen your nation.

Although our nation belives that everyone is entitled to their view, for one faction to enforce their own view onto someone else is abhorrent, as such, these socialist groups are fighting to impose their own ideals upon those who are unwilling; whilst we do not fully know the true extent of your governments nature, we are more than aware that socialist governments who strive for communism inevitably suppress their citizens.

In light of recent events, and following an intense discussion withen the Council Chambers of the Metropolitan-Regional government we have decided to intervene on behalf of the Imperial government if you so desire it. It is hoped, that we can bring stability to your region, before proceeding on a mission of education and understanding to uncover how and why such a radical party would form in your nation.

----------

Nineteen nautical miles from the Third Empire of Fluffywuffy's border the 2nd Incursory Flotilla of the Hydrosterian Navy was making a steady beeline for the Third Empires territory; although it was abundantly clear that it was not hostile. The 2nd Incursory Flotilla was a particular branch of Hydorsterian Navy Operations, it was focused on establishing, and holding, a stable operational base in the target area from which to operate from. In this particular case, if the Third Empire was willing for the M.R.C to intervene on their behalf, the establishment of a base would merely involve the transport of supplies and materials onto a remote shore of Fluffywuffy. The flotilla consisted of one destroyer, two military modified "roll-on-roll-off" cruiseferries and a single replenishment oiler vessel. Along with the ships was an even more noticable Hydrosterian airshipscable tied to the destroyer with a number of small recon planes locked to it's hull, one of which was flying ahead of the flotilla; below the surface however was a single diesel-electric submarine running silent, this too was host to the various innovations of the Hydrosterians navy; thankfully however they were entering on the side of a viable friend and thus any possible combat was considered unlikely.

The Kings of Hubal didn't care for the Socialist Rebels or the Corrupted Government of this nation. One among the many thousands of this world each stricken by plight, anarchy and corruption. In the deluded minds of the Kings the immoral actions taken upon their organization were righteous, serving the universe through their sacrifice.

Their target was not in the body of a squabbling government but the self imagined threat of Islam. This civil war in a secular and free nation would not function well to expel worldwide state Islam but the chaos would open up the opportunities to increase the weight and impact of future projects.

Secure Message from the Kings of Hubal

To the Socialist freedom fighters located in Fluffywuffy. We both struggle against the oppressive single minded tyranny of a corrupted hegemony and as such we should like to endorse and assist in your struggle to bring enlightenment to your nation. Should you agree, we can provide four teams of five guerrilla experts to covertly enter your nation (details of how these teams should make contact to be determined in a second secure message) we hope that through shared military struggles our two groups might yield successes in both campaigns.

(OOC: Do you have a land border? Would it be possible to smuggle groups in? (Using whatever faked documents required for tourism or business) I intend to smuggle in these four small groups at first but I'd also like to ask about smuggling in larger groups when the time comes.)

Kyle Prodman was a tenacious reader, being attracted moreso to books in the category of military theory and Socialist government, having retired the thought with the failure of Communism as a whole and the genetic differences inherent in humans that coerced the idea into unattainability. However, despite the impossibility of Communism he drew upon the conclusion that Socialism, while unable to form a utopia in doctrine alone was a set above the current monarchy that forced a large division between the classes, one that would be welded, while not perfectly consumed, by the principles of Socialist ideology. He was by no means an ideologue and was subject to many debates, though moreso with his friends that were sympathetic to the monarchy, no doubt pertinent to the fact that they, like the rest of their initial family was well off, as debating of such things openly was ill advised. Duplicitous to his beliefs, while moreso on paper then in reality, as in the real word many Socialist/Communist rising are begun by hirer off individuals of the society, he and his family where moderately prosperous which also allowed for him to attain the books that would be the bases of his self learning, failing out of school for fact of not having any want to learn that dribble that was taught to him and his peers.

After Prodman's failure of school at the age of sixteen he was quick to be sent to his Uncle's home, who held much the same sentiments as he, and while still being supplied with the money from his parents to continue his self-education (unbeknown to them what exactly he was studying) he continual purchased the expensive and oracular texts. Finally at the age of eighteen he had been contacted by a member of the 'Government's Party', as he so fervently called the political wing of the Socialist Revolutionary Army, and began his recruitment into them, formally telling his Uncle, he had agreed to maintain the guise of him still working there, and as a reward the money sent to Prodman would be promptly put into his Uncle's ownership.

At first Prodman's life as a revolutionary was dreary, the officers drilling in the continued essence of Socialism and even tried to school him on the finer points of the military, which he heatedly engaged in a debate, and almost always won, at least until silence with the boot or by command. However he continued on, a true sign of endurance he marked for himself and for all his drudgery he had finally gradated, given a heightened level of command, equivalent to captain, and sent to a random wooded region that had in its possession a dozen or more villages of poor people that could be easily swayed, sent with nothing more than an initial detachment of ten along with guns to equip an additional six adding to that a radio.

Two years had passed, now at the ripe age of twenty he looked over at the region consolidated to him and currently he had twelve of the sixteen known settlements under his Socialist boot, rationing the food exuberantly towards the full-time work force of the populace, and letting it be known that his own troops were given far less food. His current troop was made up of exactly a hundred ninety-eight men, with only forty-two of them armed with any kind of projectile shooting implement, and the remainder equipped with clubs and knives and machetes and whatever else they could fasten, it could especially be noted that there was a group of six bowmen who were exceedingly proficient with their arms. The military wing of the group was more or less inactive as government patrol rarely passed threw this sector, and due to larger Socialist gathering in other areas any patrol was not likely to come threw. However there were exactly twenty-one outposts all along the ring of that was the edge of the forest, expertly concealed and using additional radio equipment that had been allotted to them by the SRA they were sure to never be caught by surprise.

On this particular day the news of an epic victory was heard and as thus Prodman made his ceremonious attempts to acquire more supplies using his radio. "This is Revolutionary Base 028, Captain Prodman, requesting supplies. Citing: Lack of nearby enemy armaments or any machinery which could be used to construct makeshift weaponry. Over." He knew the response would most-likely be a denial, but none the less he had to go for it, even now his men could only be used one magazine a month for exercising purposes and their wares were down to two hundred two magazines for the entire detachment.

Weeks of hard fighting continued, and the Socialist forces managed to consolidate many of their disparate villages, camps, and settlements in the Kevrak peninsula into fully occupied territory. The Kevrak peninsula was a warm, forested, and nearly uninhabited swath of land with little strategic importance, save for the ease at which rebel forces had managed to ambush Imperial units in the area. In response, the Third Empire simply withdrew its forces and began to use surgical airstrikes in attempt to remove the leadership of the Socialist Revolutionary Army.

Throughout the rest of the country, there were a few pockets of rebellion that had bogged down the Imperial Army and forced them to divert large numbers of troops to cover the massive nation, leaving the supply lines vulnerable to ambush. Because of this dangerous vulnerability, the Empire had to call for help.

The Third Empire is most grateful for its friends in Hydrosteria offering assistance in the defeat of the Socialist Revolutionary Army, and will gladly accept troops from Hydrosteria.

In the light of recent battlefield victories (OOC: Small skirmishes), we feel that the Imperial Army, despite the loss of a small portion of our forces and territory to the Socialist Revolutionary Army, is still in an excellent position to defeat the Red menace and restore order. The skies are ours, and our enemy lacks the heavy equipment that will be neccesary to achieve victory on many of our grassy fields.

Once again, we thank the great people and government of Hydrosteria for their assistance. It will not be forgotten.

Ivan Kazansky was a busy man in these days, giving many bombastic speeches in Socialist occupied territory about the coming downfall of the oppressors, how victory was inevitable for the oppressed workers of Fluffywuffy, and how the revolutionary military was, by nature, invincible. He had managed to secure from a few discrete foreign nations a handful of tanks and a few ultralight civlian aircraft, which he would have a few of his engineers go over to see if they could add a bomb or two under the wings. That would be a shock to the Imperial forces, having to watch the skies.

After his last speech, Kazansky returned to his desk to find two requests. One, from some group calling itself the Kings of Hubal, and another from a Captain Kyle Prodman. He had heard of this Prodman and his arguments with his teachers, his dedication to the revolution. But he had been informed this was a man to contain, one a few of the guerilla leaders had claimed wanted to poison the revolution with his own glory. Kazansky weighed the two requests, his mind pouring over all the possibilities. He sighed at the enormity of the two requests.

He decided to answer the Kings of Hubal first.

To the Great Warriors of Freedom in the Kings of Hubal
From the Socialist Revolutionary Army

Greetings from the Socialist Revolutionary Army and all of the soon-to-be liberated peoples of the future People's Socialist Republic! After pouring over exhaustively the records of the Kings of Hubal, we have decided that we could use whatever assistance available in our revolutionary struggle against the corrupt capitalist dog that is the Emperor. With the Kings standing shoulder to shoulder with our own armies, none will dare defy us!

The Revolutionary Army has seen your great service to the nation and people, and it is glad for your devotion to the cause. However, your districts are not in danger of assault. Imperial forces do not labor to dislodge your forces as tenaciously as they do in the front lines of the Kevrak Peninsula. We are willing to spare a portion of the supplies requested by your forces, citing the good will they have achieved with the local population.

Deep inside the head building of Wolverine Defence Corporation was the response centre, a room which in look was very similar to the CIC of a warship, the crisis centre response was responsible for locating crisis around the world using the extensive net of observational satellites used by both The Wolf Hold and Wolverine. Once a crisis was detected it was passed up to the board and to the companies CEO Michael Shorebanks, it was they who decided who to offer there services to, the decisions were made within hours as Wolverine prided itself on quick response to developing crisis. So as was the case of the Civil War in Fluffywuffy, within hours of the Wolf-Sat 5 observing intense combat, The Wolf Hold Central Command passed the information over to Wolverine and Michael Shorebanks offer of support was away within the day.
