OOC: FT Storefronts?

Another nation and I will soon be starting up FT versions of our nations. I was wondering if there were any reliable FT storefronts? I know that it seems to go against the idea of FT to have storefronts- what with anti-matter and all, the idea of DO WHAT YE WANT LOLZ IT IS THE FUTURE- but I'd like to see a storefront where someone has reasonable and "realistic" within the setting.

First, good to see someone who is actually seeking to try something beyond the "LOL MY POWERFUL PENIS BREAKS ALL LAWS OF SCIENCE!" or the less common(not sure about that) "Oh noes my uber-tank with twin 300mm guns was bashed by NSD, I'm switching to FT because there nobody will complain!"
Unfortunately I lack the will to build a (mostly) Hard Sci-fi based FT Storefront, and besides there is no IC reason for one to exist. Can't really recommend a FT storefront that sells quasi-realistic or realistic designs, because there is none as far as I know.
I'd recommend to read a bit of this site and make your own concepts from it:

I don't know how realistic my ships are, and they're probably underpowered by quite a few magnitudes compared to others but they have been approved and looked over by two different sets of people(draftroom and an offsite rp) and I have a fairly wide range so hopefully you'd fine something you'd like...

I'm a little surprised that there aren't more FT storefronts actually, because it strikes me that there would be a market for them. FT nations do have a benefit in what seems to be a near-limitless technological barrier for military assets, but it stands to reason that not all FT nations would neccessarily have the economic or technological base to manufacture their own military assets; after all, not all MT nations have an indigenous arms sector and therefore purchase from the many MT storefronts out there. It seems logical to me that the larger FT nations could sell FT military equipment through storefronts to less economically- and techologically-developed FT nations just as with MT.
Just my own musings on the situation.

Xiscapia has started a fairly decent one here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=581227). I'm not so sure how realistic it is, but I like it nonetheless.
Here's my own FT Storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=540197) and here's a very very good one by Hyperspatial Travel (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=557287)
See the PRA:FT link in my sig. Not quite hard, but adheres to the important laws of science pretty well (read: conservation of energy).

Likewise, the Arsenal of Freedom Link in my signature. It's generally a crude model of what can be done with an FT storefront, emphasis on crude--I try to sell any and all things of interest. Granted, they may not be the most realistic of items, but then again I never joined this game to be realistic--the operating word here is "game."
Subtle commentary aside, I'd look at Allanea and Otagia's storefronts as well. They've done damn good jobs with theirs, and in fact might have done better than I have.

Or maybe they'd rather have some fun which last time I check, is the point of NS? Its a game. Games are for fun.
No, 1010102. NS exists for hard-science superrealism. Did you forget that? BAD BINARIA! BAAAAD!

XD Well, I just want to avoid the worst excesses of FT. FTL is considered the start of soft sci-fi yet the nation I will be RPing with the most uses FTL so I shall as well.

Of course.
But really, people like Solar Communes( I forget what his old nation was) make up a tiny minority, and those people stick to MT and are now posting on an offsite regional forum to stay away from anybody that's not one of them.

I don't post exclusively in off-site forums, plus I have never chosen to join any region for several reasons, my unwillingness to retcon Third Spanish States story the primary one, and Solar Communes is nothing besides Third Spanish States IN SPACE! I'm still sticking mostly to MT though.

I'm working on one right now.
We will sell both independently developed ships (for both military and civilian use), as well as accept contracts for the use of our sophisticated nanite foundries.

Also Huntear has one that covers your basic FT tech bases Star Wars, 40K, Star Trek, and some of his own stuff.
I'll give you a link to his profile, because he has a lot of them.

One problem with an FT store front is pricing. How the hell do you price a warp drive, for example?
This is more manageble with hard sci-fi though. Actually, I've been thinking of making an FT storefront since someone asked me if their were any and I honestly didn't know. But I probably won't have time to do more than a half-assed job of it until after exams, which means at least a month and a half. If you're still in the market come June, then, look me up.

You know, I think I'm going to need to work on a Storefront for TRIAD Enterprises now, after all that is their stated reason for coming to the NS universe, to sell their products to the needy masses.
