OOC: This is kind of a sequel to my last SHIELD thread I did, which was going quite well but sadly died (sad face). Anyways, I want to try it again. As in the last thread, the SHIELD in this thread is a UN sanctioned organization bent of global stability and fighting threats to mankind that only SHIELD can handle.

The basic concept for this one is that after the events of the first one, the Metahuman Registration Act is under attack from numerous groups, metahuman and non metahuman. SHIELD's primary mission as of now is to catch or neutralize hostile metahumans who use their powers for evil. This was is escalating and SHIELD's new director who replaced the deceased Tony Stark has decided to reboot the Avenger Initiative. Now, they set about creating a team of metahumans. Meanwhile, a new, more poweful threat emerges that will threaten the very existance of Earth.

You can be pretty much anything in this thread. If you are a regular agent of SHIELD. You cannot have super powers, but you can have heightened skills and strength. If you choose to be a metahuman, don't be ridiculously powerful and such, and no godmodding.

After graduating college and studying abroad, she became a respected art dealer who moonlighted as a thief. she is very skilled in agility, hacking, and stealth. Her highlight was managing to steal the Mona Lisa just for fun. This caught the eye of S.H.I.E.L.D. who happened on her tyrail by accident. Instead of turning her into the authorities, they saw a great use in her abilities and enlisted her into their ranks. She is now a full member.

However the Agency believed they allowed him to do this, as in their tests her genetics showed no sign of any alterations. However The Shop didn't know that John Rainbird, one of their most trusted senior agents had swapped the samples and fudged the test results.

John Rainbird raised her at various safe houses around the world, spending what time he could with her, while making a living as a very high paid independent operative. D’Arcy grew up with a succession of tutors and housekeepers -living a 'well and well educated', but rather nomadic life. John Rainbird started training her to be a field craft / operations from the time she was a child

Her abilities manifested at puberty and they are fully the equal to those of the more infamous Charlene 'Charli' Firewalker. When she was sixteen John Rainbird was nearly killed escorting a political refugee out of Myanmar. D’Arcy finished the run for him, posing as the client’s daughter. Since that time he finished her basic training and she began aiding him in his work. He also introduced her to people he knew in S.H.I.E.L.D at that time. However he was killed six years later. Since then she has done some freelance work, but has mostly worked as a S.H.I.E.L.D 'Contractor'

Speaks eight languages reasonably, and can get by in about six more, and is an accomplished world traveler, gaining a reputation and a goode living as as a freelance destination/ travel writer - a number of magazines have carried articles by her. IT makes a fine cover for her true avocation.

It's always a pleasure to see you around, I've been REALLY busy and caught up with stuff. I hope this one goes well.

After her death from a government attempt to capture him he has sworn to make humanity fall. Using the UN's proclamation to gather allies he is now devoted to the destruction of world leader's and to fight the SHIELD.

SHIELD stubbled across him when he broke into one of their secure facilities following up a lead. he has been detained by them since.

Narrowly escaping death, Marcus fled the country in hopes of someday returning and righting the wrongs done upon him.

Since then, Marcus' has trained and honed his skills in the areas of agility and stealth. His skill of being able to blend in just about anywhere in the world has made him a valued member(hence the codename "Shadow") , and his ability as a smooth-operator has gotten him into places other SHIELD members can't.

Because of this, it was constantly raided by pirates, privateers and mauraders, the small garrison of soldiers being worn down until only a ragtag milita remained. When the next pirate raid came, the citizens simply fled, leaving their homes, their goods and their slow behind them. Orin was one of them, carrying her baby brother, she was accosted by the pirates and taken as a slave to be sold . Onboard, the crew were overpowered momentarily by the captives, allowing them to reach the deck, where they were met by a far stronger force. Some of them were retaken as captives, the rest either jumped or were pushed overboard.

Acceptable? I usually use Orin, but I can change it if you'd like. She'd be a neutral character.

He is a relatively nice person with good intelligence as a Human, easy going and friendly. As a werewolf however, SHIELD has determined he is not to leave the compound without a 'Handler'. As a werewolf he has roughly the mental power of a 10 to 12 year old child, and a small English vocabulary.

Powers: Regeneration* (Not Wolverine regeneration, slower.), Transformation between his human form and Lycanthrope Form, extrahuman strength in Lycanthrope form.

*He can be killed via Mercury (Quicksilver), or detatching his brain from his heart (Be that by severing the head, or by destroying the brain or heart -completely- so that it simply does not remain. IE: Bullet to the brain or heart will take him down, but not out. You have to destroy it completely.). His regenerative abilities and transformational abilities remain a mystery as once anything is severed from his body it immediately dies leaving nothing but carbon.

My character, kinda, needs a "Handler"... If one of the players owuld be nice enough to act as one.

Handler, is like, a commanding officer... But with the added responsibility of keeping a character like the Hulk (Hulk'd out hulk) in check and under control. THing is, this Hulk, isn't afraid to turn into his "Hulk" form. And will, at times, encourage it to appear.

Powers: Superhumanly strong. Highly resistant to physical harm. Nearly unstoppable once he gains momentum.

Brief Bio: Bryan Rhodes was born to middle-class parents, and was given a rather normal upbringing. But Bryan was not an ordinary child, already at a very young age he showed aggressive tendencies, attacking other children, destroying things when he didn't get his way etc. As he grew so did his anger, and by the time he reached junior high he had already been convicted four times for assault.

When he graduated from school with less than average grades he decided to make fighting his livelihood and started training as an MMA fighter. He soon became a local celebrity for his aggression and strength, but when he challenged a much more highly ranked fighter he was soundly beaten. Later that night he broke into the other man's apartment and slit his throat with a knife. He was discovered by the man's girlfriend and was forced to flee the country, eventually ending up in the jungles of Cambodia.

There he took a job as security to a local drug lord. But one day when he was patrolling the jungle near a drug plantation he discovered a strange rift in space, and when he got too close he was zapped by a mysterious energy. He awoke several weeks later, and after recalling what had happened he discovered that he had gained superhuman powers. Since then he has sold his services to whoever would pay, drug lord or foreign government, it doesn't matter to him, as long as he gets paid.

OCC Notes:

My Version of the Ms. Marvel character of ( Marvel Super Hero's fame ) is the daughter of Carol Danver's ( The Original Ms. Marvel ) and Tony Stark ( Ironman ). We all know that Tony was always a Ladies Man and liked his variety. Gwendilynne Danver's is the product of one such affair of the Heart. ( Although this isn't canon, it is one possiblity )

Although in the beginning Gwendilynne didn't know she possessed any metahuman powers, but she did possess a very high IQ like her father. Further she had been trained by her mother in the fine arts of espionage, hand to hand combat & marksmanship.

Then after discovering that Norman Osborn and the Dark Avengers were responsible for her mothers death she is naturally filled with a desire for vengence. Being that after Tony Starks death she inherited part of his estate. Part of this inheritance was several of the hundreds of differant suits of Armor he owned and a portion of his money.

Gwendilynne's first attempt at vengence was using one of the suits of armor ( after upgraded and outwardly changing it to appear female ) to challage the Dark Avengers. During the resulting battle between her and the Dark Avengers she is hurt and the armor is badly damaged.

Even so she manages to escape them with the help of the Brood ( The Aliens that gave Carol Danvers her Binary Powers ) after they return to find their champion murdered by the same people that Gwendilynne is trying to bring to some type of Justice.

The Brood not only save her life after this first battle, but they are able to discover and activate her unknown Marvel powers that she inherited from her mother as well as give her the full powers of Binary ( Just as they did her mother ). They did this so she could take up where her mother left off, and so her mothers murders could be brought to Justice.

After her total recovery Gwendilynne again engages the Dark Avengers, this time however it is as Lady Marvel! This time she defeats and captures all the Dark Avengers over a period of time and turns them over to the authorities to stand trial for the murder of her mother.

She then takes possession of the Avengers Tower making it her base of operations. From there she starts a recruiting campaign to gain new members in order to restore the Avengers.

She enters this storyline just a few days after she has started the recruiting campaign. Because of her mothers fame as Ms. Marvel and Binary to Shield and other Law Enforcement bodies she has name recogition. But has no contacts there of her own, and hasn't yet had the opportunity to work with them except through the process of turning in the Dark Avengers.

Hello Kulikovia. Haven't been on for a while, but I can't resist one of your Character RPs. SHIELD again?

Etiher way, my idea this time around (don't remember if I joined last time, or what I did last time at all actually), is to have a young teenager discovering himself. Resourceful and smart, he's survived on the streets for a while - but then he saved a member of SHIELD in a bad situation. So SHIELD adopts him, and he hangs out at the training complex/whatever. No one knows who his parents are, or if he has parents. But the idea is that he DOES NOT have powers.

Hey, no offense taken. I want an opportunity to fix what was, imho, some of Marvel's stupidest work. As for the 'strongest superhero in the world,' in that respect I also think it can be a joke. WWH clearly shows Hulk as the more endurable fighter.

Now, if on the other hand we wanted to agree to call him the "Most Psychologically Fractured Superhero in the World," or the "Most Schizophrenic Superhero in the World," then I think we could all get behind that. But powerful? Come on, Morgan Le Fay took him out way too easily.

This is why I love Iron Man and War Machine. It's so simple -- they put on armor with lots of weaponry and also gain superhuman strength and endurance -- no radioactive accident required. It's so everyman, appeals to anyone with an imagination.

And remember, Iron Man stood against Hulk with the Hulkbuster armor. So, by extrapolation, Iron Man could fight the Sentry, and at least break even.

This is a guy whose psyche is so mutable, that any measure of it changes it. His mindset is subject to Heisenberg, which alone promises to be an interesting prospect.

Tell you what, though. If Kul says yes to this crazy idea, will you consider my own slight retcon, of sorts. See, I want to explain his powers as a result of his cell structures being modified by that serum, so that instead of 'a few instants ahead of the timeline' (a headache if there ever was one), he's just able to metabolize energy at much higher rates than normal humans, and in more varieties. As a special, ultra-cool aspect of that, his worries about losing control when channeling massive energy levels are based in the fact that if he does lose control, part of his nervous system could be fried. Literally, fired (since neurons are wrapped in fat and oil).

I, seeing the return of Binary/Ms. Marvel, wanted to bring back the Sentry, Robert Reynolds. In standard Marvel lore, he's S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ace-in-the-hole, a rather amped up version of Superman.

I'm asking to portray him as a far less outrageously powered individual, but with all of the crazy still present. That's the one thing that makes me continue to stick by the Sentry: I want to see how he handles the mental stresses of the job when he's probably the least qualified person in the world to do so.

I mean 6036 as in 36 meta's plus about 6000 staff. That includes the janitors, the cooks, the maintenance workers, the scientists, the secretaries(yes I have secretaries) the maids, the plumber, the electrician, drivers, pilots, transport drivers, the engineers, 'comfort women,' plus guards toating weapons. You forget that logistics for a 12 square mile base is freaking immense and my guy has money to burn, he can transport huge sums of money by opening shadow rifts.

So to run a base you need a lot of people and if I can pay them all I can keep them, except for Bataar the security guard at checkpoint 8. He tried to shoot his russian wife Sophia the maid at barracks 3 and Ivan the security guard at checkpoint 5 who was sleeping with sophia. However Kalina, Ivan's wife and the cook, was really sleeping with Bataar and Sophia. I think I'm going to fire those 4.

Anyway when I posted I didn't mean an army of 6000 people plus meta's but an entire facility.

My Version of the Ms. Marvel character of ( Marvel Super Hero's fame ) is the daughter of Carol Danver's ( The Original Ms. Marvel ) and Tony Stark ( Ironman ). We all know that Tony was always a Ladies Man and liked his variety. Gwendilynne Danver's is the product of one such affair of the Heart. ( Although this isn't canon, it is one possiblity )

Although in the beginning Gwendilynne didn't know she possessed any metahuman powers, but she did possess a very high IQ like her father. Further she had been trained by her mother in the fine arts of espionage, hand to hand combat & marksmanship.

Then after discovering that Norman Osborn and the Dark Avengers were responsible for her mothers death she is naturally filled with a desire for vengence. Being that after Tony Starks death she inherited part of his estate. Part of this inheritance was several of the hundreds of differant suits of Armor he owned and a portion of his money.

Gwendilynne's first attempt at vengence was using one of the suits of armor ( after upgraded and outwardly changing it to appear female ) to challage the Dark Avengers. During the resulting battle between her and the Dark Avengers she is hurt and the armor is badly damaged.

Even so she manages to escape them with the help of the Brood ( The Aliens that gave Carol Danvers her Binary Powers ) after they return to find their champion murdered by the same people that Gwendilynne is trying to bring to some type of Justice.

The Brood not only save her life after this first battle, but they are able to discover and activate her unknown Marvel powers that she inherited from her mother as well as give her the full powers of Binary ( Just as they did her mother ). They did this so she could take up where her mother left off, and so her mothers murders could be brought to Justice.

After her total recovery Gwendilynne again engages the Dark Avengers, this time however it is as Lady Marvel! This time she defeats and captures all the Dark Avengers over a period of time and turns them over to the authorities to stand trial for the murder of her mother.

She then takes possession of the Avengers Tower making it her base of operations. From there she starts a recruiting campaign to gain new members in order to restore the Avengers.

She enters this storyline just a few days after she has started the recruiting campaign. Because of her mothers fame as Ms. Marvel and Binary to Shield and other Law Enforcement bodies she has name recogition. But has no contacts there of her own, and hasn't yet had the opportunity to work with them except through the process of turning in the Dark Avengers.

There are no power level restrictions in Marvel or any other comic I'm aware of. So I don't care if Sentry is allowed in. I just want to be allowed to participate with the character that has alraedy been OK'ed. Maybe Sentry and Lady Marvel should beat up on each other since their power levels are too
high for anybody else to fairly deal with.

I stated my intent to play a version of the Sentry with definitively lower power levels, and between that and my reference to Lady Marvel I figured Kul would grant the OK.

My reply, citing your posts, was done under the impression that you agreed with barring the Sentry even with Lady Marvel allowed in. I had thought that you would have agreed with my request, and if you do then I mistook your sentiments on the issue.

He's also got agoraphobia (severe), partial nyctophobia (fear of darkness, represented in the Void), to the extent that the Void is a hallucinated construct that represents the latent fears made manifest to the Sentry by his own schizophrenia. In my opinion there shouldn't be any restrictions on character power levels because powerful characters can be negated by OTHER powerful characaters.

Not all high powered characters are looking for trouble. Superman has fought right beside Batman numerous times even though his power level is far above that of Batman.

Real Hero's are honorable people. I assure you Lady Marvel will act honorably.

Started on the afternoon of the 13th, today is the 20th and there are over 213 posts. I don't think that qualifies as dieing thread.

And it is a huge part of the reason I dropped out. A thread does NOT need to roll 200 posts in 7 days to be a good RP, it's far more likely to make it a leser RP as players can't keep up with what is happening.

And when players are confused their posting is not the quality it could be if they were able to keep the flow in their thoughts. But having to go back and edit and re-edit when five posts appear while you write one is discouraging to say the least.
