Alex Bryce scored a injury time stunner to defeat L'Pariqu in a friendly.

By Andrew O'Conner.

Salisford - Just a few hours after Commonwealth head coach Mathieu Jean-Phillipe confirmed him to be on the starting line up for the Commonwealth's matches during the summer, Alex Bryce proved why he had been selected over veteran Steven Carlos by scoring a brilliant freekick against L'Pariqu, cementing his position as City's top goalscorer.

SCFC and L'Pariqu are two teams considered to be equals, which has prompted predictions that next year's Commonwealth League, the head tier of the Pacifican League, will be 'one of the best leagues in the world', due to 30 of the best teams in the Pacific particpating. It is expected that it will be one of the closest - and aggresive - leagues in football history, and that more foreign players will be signed by managers looking to bolster their squad with overseas talent before the Commonwealth Leagues kicks off with - SCFC versus L'Pariqu.

In the first five minutes, a fiery strike from Salisford striker Harold Downcaster narrowly escaped the back of the net, L'Pariqu keeper Nicolas Blanc getting a touch onto the ball to cause it to hit the post, and centre back Adolf Fritz, from Isle Berlinia, kicking it out for a corner. SCFC defender Josef Ivanovic nearly headed it in, but it went just above the crossbar.

Just twenty-one minutes into the game, a penalty was awarded to L'Pariqu. The striker, Phillipe Jean, took the penalty, slotting it past the goalkeeper, giving the visitors a one goal lead. This lead continued to the second half, and was ended by a brilliant shot from Lionel Robertos which went through the goalkeeper's legs and levelled the game once again.

The two sides duked it out, with near goals from SCFC's left midfielder, Callum Winchester and other players, including a header by Salisford's left back, George Territore. However, as the game was drawing to a close, a free kick was awarded to SCFC, and Alexander Bryce - the 17-year-old son of the Acting President, Jackson Bryce - hit a spectacular shot which just went in the back of the net, nearly hitting the post.

Rumours have been circulating that L'Pariqu are looking to buy Bryce for an sum of PC$38 million, which Bryce has denied many times throughout the season. L'Pariqu's Nicolas Gaulus has retired, and L'Pariqu have been dropping hints they are seeking Bryce to act as a replacement for one of the best midfielders ever to have played for L'Pariqu.

L'Pariqu went home disappointed, but are defiantly relishing the possibility of revenge in August.

Acting President Bryce stated that RDC peacekeepers would be sent to the civil war engulfed Neoslavia.

By Simon James.

Salisford - Soon after his son scored the winning goal in a friendly against L'Pariqu, Acting President Jackson Bryce has confirmed reports that peacekeepers from the Rapid Deployment Command are being sent to the nation of Neoslavia, a nation on the Balkan Peninsula which is currently engulfed in a civil war between the ruling fascist government - the Neoslavic Supreme Party - and the communist fighting group, the Neoslavic Liberation Army.

Bryce said, "The situation which Neoslavia finds itself in is not a good one, to say the least, but I am confident that RDC peacekeepers will prevent major loss of life and save many innocents caught up in the conflict."

In a joint communique issued by the Foreign Ministry and the Defence Ministry, it was stated that the operation - codenamed 'Buddha' - would involve one thousand peacekeeping troops, backed by aircraft and several frigates, along with aid workers from the Commonwealth Aid Foundation, who will be bringing food, water and helicopters for evacution, so as to 'save lives and spare innocents'.

Many other countries have intervened, with many Volzgradien troops entering the conflict zone in support of fascist government, and Chernobl has sent peacekeeping troops as well. Greater Americania has also stated its support for the fascists, and it is expected Chernoblian and Pacifican peacekeepers will work together to attempt to bring peace to this wartorn nation.

Peacekeepers arrive
in Neoslavia.

By Katherine Walterson.

Neoslavia - While a battle raged between the nation of Reijvajik and Greater Americania nearby, UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters from the RDC Peacekeepers were busy flying towards an open space in the troubled nation of Neoslavia, seeking to establish a base of operations in the country. While unconfirmed reports suggest that they were pursued by Greater Americanian forces, one of the forces occupying parts of the countries, in an effort by the Greater Americanians to 'landgrab' any areas in which the peacekeepers base, though no matter what truth lies about the landgrabbing, Defence Minister Arnold Reid has said that 'a peacekeeping base has successfully been set up in Neoslavia' and that 'humantairian aid is already being given' to the innocents caught up in the devastating national conflict in the country.

Aid workers have already arrived, and volunteer doctors and nurses from hospitals across the nation have begun medical operations in medical tents in the base. Food supplies have begun being distrubted as well, along with water donated from the Pacifica water company.

Half of the peacekeeping troops have already arrived in Neoslavia, with the other half expected to arrive soon. The Joint Peacekeeping and Humantairian Aid Operation in Neoslavia (JPHAON) has ships placed off the coast of Neoslavia, including aircraft carriers from Chernobl, and ships from other nations like the United States of Pennyslavania.

However, battles have been raging between the occupying Greater Americanian forces and foreign forces like the aforementioned Reijvajik, whose fleet has lost one aircraft carrier and several other vessels already. Defence Minister Reid has sent his condolences to the families of those lost in the sinking of the ship, but stresses that 'the Commonwealth does not support Reijvajik's actions'. There is even unconfirmed reports that one Pacifican Blackhawk was destroyed in the chaos of the fighting, but the Defence Ministry reports 'no losses for the Commonwealth' in Neoslavia.

The Nationalist Federation of Greater Americania also claims to have recieved messages from an insurgent group known as 'People's Fascist Revolutionary Army' and claims to be supplying them with arms, though these reports are unconfirmed.
