1:32 AM- Mount Greshold
"Little Bird 2, I repeat, Little Bird 2, can you hear me?
I have been shot down at Square 14, requesting assistance, over."
Brian said.
The walkie grew quiet, until a static voice came.
"Th- ..Litt- Bir ...1, -an hea- me?"
Brian could not comprehend what was being said in the transmitter.
He tried again, but no response came.
It grew silent, and the chirping of arctic eagles and the roars of the
polar bear stunned him. He knew the worst place to die was here,
in the Azerdanias, a frigid mountain range that shields Asiom to the north.
The Azerdanias were so stupendous that you could not even see what lay after it.
It was like a colossal monster looking down the rest of the country.
Brian removed his vest, which cluttered him up and made him feel uncomfortable.
He reached out of his heart pocket, which was right next to his magazine pocket, and grabbed a map.
He dotted his position and later estimated the location of the crash
site by timing its velocity.
"It seems to have crashed at Eagle's Nose" said Brian
Then all of a sudden as he was looking on the map, Brian noticed a peculiar object.
It was a woman, thin legs and long black hair.
He reached for his USP.45 and threatened to fire.
But the object continued to come closer
and closer, like a dog running to it's owner.
"No! Don't shoot!" cried the mysterious woman.
"Who are you??! Back off or I'll shoot!" he warned.
"I'm Layla. Im a herder of dogs and horses here.
Do you need some help? Here let me help you."
"No thank you, I'm fine, I just broke my shoulder but I'm dandy."
"But you require assistance. I cannot let a federal soldier
die in a mountain wretched and alone. What brings you to Greshold Mountain?"
"I was shot down by a Stinger about 30 minutes ago. Are there any hostilities here?"
"Yes indeed. The UEGA and the UCA have been unleashing attacks on mountain villages and towns."
"The UEGA huh? Sounds familiar."
"Yes, the UEGA, it stands for the United Extremists Groups of Azerdania"
"What do they pursue? Genocide?"
"No. A Communist state."
"And the UCA? Who are they?"
"They're the United Clans of Azerdania, or UCA,
they sought for the independence of Azerdania, the region, and make
it into a Communist state.
They've been supplied by an unknown source, bearing AK-47s,
Stingers, BM-21s, and all other guns I'm not familiar with."
"Well why would they fire at us? We did nothing."
"Because Azerdania is going through tensions indeed yes very indeed."
"I do not know. But one thing is certain, it has driven everyone mad."
"How horrible"
"Yes. Now, get up and let me give you hospitality"
Layla carried Brian up to her Jeep Grand Cherokee,
which had was way too old for this time, but the durability of
the vehicle proved otherwise.
2:33 AM- Layla's Camp
The ride was long, and the stiff chairs made it even harder to sit,
but Brian was being optimistic, finding help in a sparsely populated
region was a good enough reason to live.
"Here. My camp." said Layla
"Seems cozy." replied Brian
"Yes it is."
"I need a medical kit. Do you have any?"
"Yes I have one, but I think it would be better if I treated you.
That shoulder of yours looks very nasty and I don't want you to be
bruised up.
"Are you sure? This looks pretty bad and I don't want this one to be damaged any further"
"Yes I'm sure."
Layla grabbed her medical kit from her largest tent, which most likely housed her supplies.
As she knelt down to find it, Brian was examining
Layla's beautiful body.
Her crisp and shiny black hair, gleaming eyes, and the most
wonderful legs ever he thought to himself.
Brian began to become attracted
to her.
She grabbed a syringe, containing an unknown substance.
"Okay here we are. Just hold still. I'm going to numb your arm so I can
make it feel better"
"Arrghh!" Brian howled.
"Relax it's just to tighten up the veins" Layla said
"Fine, but not too hard"
"What is that stuff?"
"It's Hydrogoraminium-9. I picked some up from the
market. I use it for treating broken bones and torn body parts."
"Oh. I just wanted to make sure."
"Hey, I never knew your name, what is it?"
"Brian, Brian Cooper"
"Are you a pilot or a soldier?"
"A pilot. I fly the CH-46 Sea Knights that patrol these lands. You
might have seen them before. There are many types of them,
but mines is most significant because I revved up some
of it's propellors and gave it a few decals to be specific.
And now I'm stuck here in the very place I've hated."
"Hated?"
"Well, once did. That's when I crashed here when I got shot down
by that Stinger missile. But as I see these mountains, I feel they are
more than just mountains."
"Oh. Is this your first time flying here?"
"No. I've flown here about 4-5 times. What's strange is that
this is the only time I've been shot down. And now my entire
crew is missing."
As Layla began to medicate and treat Brian's bruising shoulder and
talked with him, she too could not help but dazzle into his
magnificent bright green eyes, and his slim yet masculine structure.
She was beginning to be attracted to Brian Cooper.
