The Airport Incident (Closed ATTN The Wolf Hold)

Here's the background on this thread;

Over Parilisa Airspace

The 5 INF-2000 "Hairbon" Fighter-Bombers flew in formation infront of a Leer Jet, some people would think it unusual, if not very un-diplomatic for a diplomatic envoy to arrive with a heavy fighter escort, however after several recent internal events it had been decided that where ever the 1st Wolf's Marshall went, the better part of Wolf Squadron would escort him.

"Do you think they will mind?" Squadron Commander Larka's voice crakled over the Inter-plane radio.

"Nah....why should they.... it's not like we are going in hot" Marshall Cain
replied

"Good point Wolf Lead"

"Your ment to be Wolf Lead, it's your squadron"

"Yeah, but your the Marshall, that makes you the lead, sir"

"Drop the Sir, we are all friends here, however once we land, you can do all the sucking up you want"

"Sure....whatever....., you have know me too long to know that I would suck up"

"Oh....if only I could just nudge sideways and drop you from the sky"

"Awww, you know you love me."

"Sadly Wolf 1 I have to say yes to that"

"Oi! Wolf 4 here, get your filthy paws off my girlfriend"

"Calm down, wing commander, she is too young for me anyways" As the banter continued, The five INF-2000s and the Leer Jet came closer and closer to Parilisa International Airport. After another five minutes of wity banter and some rather immpresive manuveres by Wolf's 4 and 6 the group finnaly came in sight of Parilisa International.

"Ok, Wolf squadron, Blackjack, listen up! Down there is Parilisa International airport, as you can proably tell we are going in on the main runway, lets hope no one thinks it is a good idea to go head to head with a fighter-bomber. Okay we are going to land in this order, Me and Wolf Lead will go in first and head to the terminal high-lighted on your HUD, after us Blackjack will land and follow us to the terminal, after Blackjack is on the tarmac Wolf 3 and 4 are to come in and once again follow us to the terminal, once everyone is down Wolf 5 and 6 are to come in last and rally with us at the terminal. Everyone got that?"

"Wolf Lead and Squadron copys"

"Blackjack Solid Copy"

"Okay then" Marshall Cain flicked a few switches on his radio and began broadcasting to all planes and ground control in the vecinity. "This is Wolf Lead of The Armed Republic Of The Wolf Hold, we are escorting a high value person to the main runway of Parilisa international, CLEAR THE RUNWAY! CLEAR THE RUNWAY!"

As the message broadcast through the Air waves, the seven aircraft began decending down towards the runway.

5 Minutes Later

Pulling up infront of the designated location, The Wolf's Marshall Popped the cockpit and un-clipped his helmet, looking around he was pleased to see that the Parilisan authorities had not got there yet, he winked at Squadron Commander Larka who was just climbing out of her INF-2000. Leaving his helmet in the cockpit and grabbing his MAC-303 Rifle which had been lying next to his seat, slinging it over his back and jumping out of the Cockpit, he strolled over to Larka who was grasping her MAC-303 by one hand. "Looks like they aint here yet" She quipped.

"Yeah....look here comes Blackjack" Marshall Cain stood wondering what the Parilisans would do when they finnaly reacted to his rather un-diplomatic entry.

The intruders were wrong; the authorities were definitely ready. Security had been heightened at the airport since the terrorist attack a few months ago and security was now on sight 24/7. It was Captain Vlesk of Parilisan International Security (called PISS by most people) who was sent to question the armed group which had landed without permission on the runway. He was armed and had backup waiting in behind him in the form of a trained sniper team.

“Citizens of Wolf Hold, you are currently operating illegally under the terms of the Airport Security Act 2009, which makes it clear that all air craft must receive permission to land before doing so. It also makes it clear that armaments are not to be carried on the runway accept by authorised staff.” Shouted Vlesk down the loudspeaker held in his gloved hand. He continued to approach them. “You will all surrender your weapons or risk immediate arrest under the aforementioned act. You have been clearly warned.”

"Looks like they have noticed us!" Marshall Cain yelled to Larka as the ran to take cover behind his INF-2000, pulling his radio from his belt and pressing the send button, "Wolf 3, Wolf 4, Wolf 5, Wolf 6 looks like Parilisa didn't seem to our entrance, do a little fly by to remind them of your presence, also Blackjack hold at your current position, Code Red-11, Code Red-11" Marshall Cain and Larka shouldered there MAC-303 Assault rifles and took cover ebhind some concrete bollards next to Cain's INF-2000, Larka looked up to the sky, she could see the orange jets of flame that were the afterburners of her squadron comming to there aid.

"Ok Wolves, the Marshall is in trouble! Lets show these ants who rules the sky! Haaawoooo!" The 2iC of Wolf squadron or Wolf 4, wing commander Jacobs, screamed into his radio as he kicked in his after burners. "Go in low and drop flares on there heads, show them how dead the could of been!" The four INF-2000's went into a rapid dive towards the Parilisa security team, "Okay flares in 3....2.....1.....FLARES! GO!" As the INF-2000s passed over the heads of the security team they droped there flares, showing were there guns would of fired if they had decided to.

Meanwile on the Leer Jet the twelve men of thr 33rd Heavy Mechanised Infantry Divison heard the emergency deployment code, the Colonel in charge of the Guard was a vetran of the Wolf Legion the Wolf Holds elite commando units. "Code Red-11, Go! Go! Go! Protect the Marshall!" The doors on the Leer Jet popped open and the twelve men jumped out and began advancing towards the Marshalls positon popping smoke to cover their advance.

Marshall Cain observed the whole situation, he guessed the security team would be disorentated after the fly by so he stepped out of cover, he needed no radio or loudspeaker he could make himself perfectly clear after many decades of practise. "I am the 1st Wolf's Marshall here by invitation of the Parilisan goverment to attened a political function, I recomend you stand down before one of several things happens to you. If you standdwon and help me on my way, I will not mention this to your higher ups. If I am delayed you can expect me to ruin your carrer and any of your families carrers. Also don't forget if somthing were to happen to me, The Wolf Hold and the entirety of the CIS would be brought to bare against Parilisa." The Marshalls voice cut through the air like a hot knife through butter, he stood there definatly, like he had so many years ago when storming the Presidential Palace.

Captain Vlesk was indeed somewhat disorientated by the pointlessly aggressive activities of the intruders. Contrary to Marshall Cain’s declaration it would do far more damage to his career if he allowed this to go unchecked; such a blatant use of force for such a minimal reason had to be punished. Vlesk strode across the runway with meaningful steps, drawing himself up to his full impressive height. Behind him police cars were approaching the scene and groups of police snipers were trained on the group who had landed so abruptly.

“If you are indeed Marshall Cain then you should be making your way to the Ball at Sylvaburg.” he said, gesturing to the rest of the armed group “All of you will surrender your weapons to airport security; you can retrieve them when you leave. You will all stay here; the police will be wanting to ask you some questions. Understand, Marshall, that I am being very liberal and that by rights you should all be under arrest now, no questions asked."

"I like the balls of this guy. He is facing down fourteen of my best men and women, he is also staring down the barrel of four fighter-bombers. You know what we might of made the wrong decsion, what do you think Larka?"

"I admire this guy. Order the guard to stand down and to come over here, weapons down. Tell Blackjack to move off the runway and send the rest of the wolves back home, I am sure they can get some in-flight refueling. Hopefull the Parilisans will understand the reasons for such actions and then we can get a move on"

"You got a point Larka. Walk out and place your weapon on the ground, i'll call the wolves off and tell Blackjack to move over here." Pulling his radio out and flicking the send button, "Wolf 3, 4, 5, 6 RTB, RTB, RTB. Situation returned to normal, get out of here. 33rd stand down, weapons low advance cautiously to my positon and place weapons on the ground once you arrive. Blackjack move to the INF-2000 and hold positon there. That is all" Cutting off any sound of protest, Marshall Cain looked up as the four fighter-bombers dipped there wings and hit there afterburners, shooting for the border. Nodding to himself he walked out next to Larka who had already placed her MAC-303 on the Tarmac, placing his own down next to hers he loked up at the airport security.

"You win, if you have the balls to face down fourteen of my men and four fighter-bombers you have the balls to shoot me. Obviously you were picked for a very good reason. My jets are leaving the airspace and as you can see me and my men have stood down, it's up to you to decide what to do next" Waving his hand in the direction of the twelve men who had reached the edge of the tarmac and laid there weapons down.

A policeman joined Vlesk and helped him gather together the weapons into the boot of a police car.

“I’ve just had a message from my superiors.” Said the new policeman to the Marshall. “I’m paraphrasing, but let’s just say this; those jets still in the sky had better get their shiny high-tech arses out of Parilisan airspace. Right?”

“Now then.” Said the Captain. “You will all be taken to the interview room to give statements. For the time being none of you will be handcuffed but if you resist we will have to take such measures. Now, you will split into groups of two and each get into a police vehicle.”

The said cars had gathered on the runway and more police officers were getting out. Each of them had a pistol in a holster at their side, and all were trained in both armed and unarmed combat as part of the stepping up of airport security following the recent terrorist attack.

"Don't worry Wolf Squadron is well out of your airspace, or they should be" Marshall Cain smiled a the police officer and nodded as he listened to his demands. "Acceptable, I hope to get this over as soon as possible, don't fear you have nothing to worry about, my men will only do something on my orders. Same goes for Larka here to" Pointing to his female companion who was warily watching the police manhandle there weapons into the boot of the police car. "

Oh officer, I believe I should give you this." Lifting his shirt and slowly in full view of the police un-buttoning his holster and pulling out his Desert Eagle, holding it by the barrel he handed the decorated handgun to the police officer. "Look after that for me please" Nodding and turning to his men. " Okay 1st section with me in the first Car, 2nd section with the flight crew in the second car. Move! Move! Move!" All twelve of the soldiers saluted alongside the four flight crew from the leer jet. As each group piled into the police cars, Marshall Cain and Wing Commander Larka climbed into the first car.

The car which contained the Marshall was driven by a tall, muscular, police officer in the dark smart uniform of the Parilisan Police. His face bore the visible signs of anger at having been called out for such a ridiculous reason; he had been terrified by the screeching jets and now he wanted to get his own back on the morons who had instigated the “attack”. The other police vehicles were speeding of in different directions along the tarmac. Six of the personnel would be questioned in the airport whilst the rest were to be taken to different police stations around the city. Their superiors knew that disorientating and dividing these terrorists was the best tactic.

Cain and the woman were bundled into a small dark room and the police officer locked the door behind them. The metal bolt was slid into place with a horribly high-pitched whine.

“Sit down.” Growled one of the two police officers in the room, gesturing towards a row of several uncomfortable chairs. He started typing something into a laptop and suddenly the phone on his desk rang. Still keeping his dark eyes on the two pilots he mumbled into the phone before slamming it down. “Cain.” He said after a while. “Get your arse through that door.” He pointed fiercely to another metal door on the other side of the room.

Cain was lead by another policeman down a long dark corridor. Lights were stationed at every two meters, but there were no windows, so the passage was filled with patches of darkness. The policeman pushed Cain into the interview room and told him to sit by the desk. Shortly another police man joined him and bolted the door behind him. The newcomer put a recording machine on the table and pushed a button on it. Inside the wheels began to whir as the tape started to be written.

“Mr Cain.” Said the first man. “I am legally obliged to tell you that your voice is now being recorded and anything you say from herein may be taken as evidence in a court of law. So, now we can start the questions, right? Lets start with the most obvious one; why?”

The Parilisans were obviously pissed off, Cain thought he would be to, if he had been in their position. As he and Larka were bundled into the car and seperated from the rest of the men. Obviously they were trying to disorintate them to try and make them easier to interorgate, however this seperation would proably just serve to make the men more resiliant. They knew Parilisa was a civilised country and that toutre was proably outlawes, they also knew that they would never use such methods when such a high value person was involved.

As he was bundled from one area to another he was replaying in his head the storming of the Democratic Allainces HQ. Frankly Cain, Larka and the rest of the men had been through much worse then what the Parilisans could do. As he was pushed into what was quite obviously an interorgation room, he wasn't really listening as the police officer read him what was proably his rights but he came round when he heard the first question.

"You wan't to know why we landed like we did, with your countries recent history with aircraft, I think we have some reason. Albeit it wasn't just becasue of that we arrived like we did. It is widely know that recntly we went through a series of riots that almost resulted in rebellion, our embassys in several foregin countries have been attacked andwhilst it is not as widly know but recently there have been two attempts on my life. Taking all these factors in, as well as the recent history of your airport, I and Central Command decided it would be better to arrive un-anounced and heavily armed."

“Do you not think that if you had explained the circumstances beforehand Airport Security could have arranged for a more peaceful, less conspicuous and highly secretive landing?” said the policeman, struggling to contain a laugh at the apparent idiocy of this man. “And surely you are aware that with our recent history with aircraft we now have to be much more alert, and that your planes came very close to being shot down. In fact if you had crossed Exengrad on your little tour of Parilisan airspace the authorities there would have gladly blown your shitty toys out of the sky.”

“And that,” added the second policeman “Would have been a much more severe threat to your life than some disgruntled assassin. In fact the President is within his rights to declare this action an act of war and to begin launching missiles at The Wolf Hold. Luckily for you Parilisans are far more civilised than your people.”

“You should also bear in mind that regardless of the reasons you did what you did, it was still very illegal, very disruptive and very dangerous.” The first policeman adopted the patronising tone one would use to address a naughty child. “You are aware, aren’t you, that we can legally try you in court and give you a prison sentence of up to 60 years?”

"Personally I really don't care about your air defence system. It is a matter of speculation if you could of shot us down. Also can you 100% vouch for everyone on your security team? Your clerks? Maintenance workers and any one else who could of overheard? There aren’t many water tight security teams. Hell I'll admit even the 33rd Mechanised isn't completely watertight, we still have security leaks. I am not doubting you and your men, I am merely looking out for mine and my personnel’s lives." Cain's facial expression remained neutral through the first part of the expected police lecture although he couldn't help but smile at the reference to launching missiles.

"The success of said missiles would be a matter for some debate but that is beside the point. In your opinion your air defence network is more dangerous then an assassin, however me being here shows that your vaunted air defence grid obviously isn't that good. So yes I think I picked the safe option." He knew he was in for a grilling from these security officers however he knew they couldn’t do much to him and that he probably would end up with a fine. However he grew slightly annoyed at the officers patronising tone.

"I know it was illegal for that I apologise, however did anyone actually get hurt? No. Did my planes ram anyone of the sky ways? No. Was there any loss of life? No. Frankly I can see your points but there is no need to get patronising. Yes I know you can try me in court and then possibly imprison me for up to 60 years, however have you ever seen international court cases they drag on for years and rarely ever reach a satisfying conclusion for either party. Also I can not vouch for what the rest of the military would do if I was to be imprisoned, I know for a fact I wouldn’t be in there long." The last sentence Cain almost whispered in an icy tone, a clear threat of the repercussions that would happen if he was imprisoned.

The first police officer had been taking a gulp of the glass of water stationed in front of him, but at the cold murmur of Cain’s final sentence a laugh forced the liquid out of his mouth in a torrential burst, spraying water across the desk and Cain’s face. Watching helpless with laughter, the other officer cackled manically and went red in the face as he tried to control himself long enough to wipe part of the splash of the desk, and to make sure the electric recorder was safe.

“You think you could waltz into Parilisa after this? You think another Wolf Holder plane will ever enter our airspace again? Are you so ignorant of international affairs that you think the Wolf Hold could tackle ODECON, and would you be stupid enough to start that over your arrest?” said the first officer, bringing his insane laughter to control.

“Come on, Cain; you’re a leader and we’re just police officers. Surely you can’t be saying we know more about international relations than we do?” mumbled the other policeman.

“Especially with the shit papers you get at this airport lately.” added his comrade.

Pulling a dirty handkerchief out of his back pocket, he soaked up most of the water and offered it to Cain to wipe his face with.

“Wipe your gob up, Cain.” He said with a grin. “Now, back to the point. It’s completely and utterly irrelevant if you did no physical harm; your approach towards Vlesk was illegal, your entry into the airport was illegal…almost everything about this entire sorry sod up was illegal. You’ve seriously disrupted the day to day business of what is, after all, a civilian airport with your moronic shenanigans; you’re probably going to have to pay compensation for that to ParAir.”

“And don’t worry about your court case, if we give you one, you can be assured it won’t take them too long once they’ve heard the tapes and seen the videos. Good gods, Klein could probably have Parilisa on a war footing against you now if he wanted to so it wouldn’t be that difficult to slam you into a nice cosy cell.”

"As you just said, you are police officers and I am an international leader, so I must know more about international relations then you. All you Parilisans think you are safe behind ODECONs shield, keep thinking that and one day your streets are going to filled with smoke and flames. Like I said it wouldnt be me who started it over my arrest." Some people might think Cains words were a joke but the tone of his voice conveyed the seriousness of his words. Wiping his face with his sleve his eyes locking with the police offcer infront of him.

"Sure i'll admit it was dangerous and disruptive but are you going to risk a fuly fleged diplomatic case in which not only ODECON will be involved but the CIS and CIN, not to mention any of the other nations we are allied to. No one wants to see me go to jail. I'll pay the fines for ParAir sure. Also we never really had any trade with Parilisa, not to mention that any of are planes that come your nation proably aint gonna be landing. I'll Ignore your multitude of insults and put them down to being as young as you are."

“We’ll take your evident ignorance as being to do with the age you are, if that’s OK with you, Grandpa.” The officer grinned, a sly and cunning grin, as a flash of amusement glistened in the corner of his watchful eye.

“Mr Cain,” said the slightly older policeman solemnly. “Are you threatening Parilisa with war for the second time today? Because if you are we can be on the phone to President Klein at any moment and he can let you know what would happen if you dared to try that out. And you think we’re hiding behind ODECON, when moments ago on the runway you were using the abbreviations CIS and CIN to bully poor Mr Vlesk?”

“Look, nobody wants a war. But the fact is you could end up in a Parilisan cell. I’m going to make you an offer, Cain. I’m going to make things a lot easier for you. You’ve just got to sign a few documents. How does that sound?” said the officer in a reassuring voice, which was tinged with a gentle hint of sarcasm.

"Poor Mr Vlesk? That guy ha some balls standing up to sixteen men and four fighter-bombers I'll give him that. I am not threating anyone, did I state that there was intentions to declare war on Parilisa or even if I had thoughts to the effect? You say I was trying to bully Mr Vlesk with acroynyms like CIN and CIS, as a matter of fact I only said CIS and I don't bully, I meerly state facts. Like I am quite aware of the fact that you could imprison me. So what are these forms? Is one titled 'Give us your soul' and another 'I pledge eternal servitude to Parilisa'?" Cain craked a smile as he spoke the last sentance, clearly inteding it to be a joke.

“Near enough. This document has been faxed through from the Presidential office. First you’ve got to sign here…” the officer pointed to a dotted line on the sheet “To say you take full responsibility for all this and that you’re very, very sorry.” The police officer grinned childishly and spoke in the tone one uses to address a baby.

“Then you sign here, saying that all the aircraft and weapons used in the attack are now property of Parilisa. That includes the planes which withdrew before we could stop them and that nice little gun you handed over on the runway.” added the next officer, gesturing to another dotted line.

The first officer indicated yet another line. “This one means you will pay $800,000 to ParAir as compensation for your disruptive activities. And the one a few lines underneath that means we will transport you back to your country by boat.”

One of the officers pulled a pen from the pocket on his bullet proof jacket and rolled it across the desk to the foreigner. He said something to the tape describing the actions, saying Cain had been handed a sheet and a pen. The whole thing was being recorded by a discreet camera, of course, but the Police Service liked to have a comprehensive collection of interview tapes nonetheless.

“Fail to sign these,” added the officer “And it’s court.”

Cain listened and flicked through the sheets of paper and signed on the dotted lines indicated except for the one which signed over the weapons, planes and other equipment used.

"I am terribly sorry, I frankly not willing to sign over to you six INF-2000 Fighter/ Bombers, four of which are well out of your airspace, also that pistol I handed over is of great significance to the Wolf Hold and it is treated almost like a national relic, I'd rather not give it to you and the Leer jet has several heavily encrypted data-bases on board which I have no intention of leaving to the hands of Parilisan techs. The MAC-303s, smoke grenades and other equipment my men own you can have, however just let me fly back on my jet with the two fighter-bombers on the shortest possible route from Parilisa. If it helps I'll give your government some extra-compensation instead of the hardware."

The policemen both let out a resounding “No.”

“It’s all or court, I’m afraid.” said the first.

“The law’s the law, Mr Cain. I’m sure you understand that. Now, could you sign on the dotted line please?”

Both of the men looked at him sternly, utmost sincerity carved into the features of their faces. They had no wish to turn this into an international incident, they didn’t want to drag a national leader through the Parilisan legal system; right now they just wanted to get the papers signed and get rid of this angry, trigger happy moron.

"Well get them back eventually" Cain mumbled under his breath, it had been worth a shot to try and get the pistol back. Not that it really was a relic, but it was a rather nice pistol. Signing the line that handed over the equipment and hardware he looked up at the police men "ok you got the two fighter bomber and the leer jet. Well remote delte the database from central command, please don't try and hack the database as it might cause the plane to self destruct. The other four fighter-bombers will be in your hands within the week"

“I knew you’d make the right choice.” said the police officer with a smile. His colleague said all he was legally obliged to say into the tape recorder and turned it of. “Now, that wasn’t so hard was it?”

The other officer stood and unbolted the door, letting in a gush of fresh air and light. Outside the day to day business of the airport was continuing as usual, with the gentle humming sounds of the populace being just about discernable above the racket caused by various police activities.

Taking a pair of handcuffs from his belt one of the officers turned on Cain. “I’ll have to handcuff you, I’m afraid. It’s the law.”

"I wasn't handcuffed on the way in, so why on the way out? I don't rember being placed under arrest and I don't pose a security threat do I?" Cain was slightly riled that the officers had had him sign over quite a bit of hardware and no they had to handcuff him.

"Also I just signed your demands, unless you are placing me under arrest I see no reason to handcuff me"

“Ah, but since your arrest your diplomatic status has changed somewhat. You came here as a guest, but you ill leave as a persona non grata. It’s come through to the office by fax from the President; you’re not welcome in Parilisa again, and nor are any of your comrades who helped you in this event. You will be handcuffed on your way to the plane, and then we will let you go. Honestly, it’s just a petty legal obligation. Now, just hand over your wrists and let me slip these handcuffs on.”

Back through the door in the office was the official declaration of Cain’s non grata status. Out on the runway, although things were getting back to normal, the planes left by the wolf holders were being removed by a group of airport owned vehicles.

"For the record you never arrested me" Cain held his wrists out for the cuffs and took on a look of indifference. "So me and the rest of the men who came with me are persona non grata, even though you only know my name and Larka's so I don't know how you can sign declerations for nameless people, unless of course you have declared every Wolf Holder persona non grata, which sounds rather foolish."

“I think Klein covered it with the phrase “Cain and all citizens of the Wolf Hold with involvement in his incident”” said the first officer with a smile. “Besides which, we’ve interviewed everybody involved so we know all your names.”

The officer bound his wrists with the cold metal handcuffs and led him through the door. Once again they went down the long dark corridor and across the waiting room, where a woman in police uniform sat making notes. One of the policemen handed her the tape recording of the interview and she smiled and gave a courteous thank-you. There was something about her which seemed to light up the room; an unexplainable joviality seemed to linger in her presence.

Out on the runway the journalists and photographers had gathered like carrion to a corpse. The moment the two policemen appeared with Cain coming through the door flashes began to crack on each side from the cameras and questions rang out in voices of various tones and accents.

“Do you feel ashamed, Mr Cain?”

“Was it worth it?”

“What the hell were you thinking?”

“You can stop to talk to them or we can drag you through and issue a statement later.” Said the policeman. “It’s up to you.”

"Don't bullshit me, my men know not to give there names out. However I do suppose your decleration does cover it"

He was used to handcuffs, dark cold corridors and police cells. He knew that he would face a barrage of reporters and camera men when he got outside. He knew they would be all the same questions from all of the inquisitive little children. As he paced out of the main airport building and held his head high and proud. Turning his head towards the reporters who were like small children at christmas.

"No comment." Was all he said to them and then turning to the police officer, "you will relase a statement anyway, so can I get out of here. I am quite obviously not welcome"

"Correct." said a news reporter with a grin. "You're a lunatic, Cain. Not fit to represent any coutry!" There were cries of support from the journalists and the police looked a little nervous. The first officer pushed Cain towards the plane whilst the second tried to make sure the journalists did not kick off.

It was an ex-army aircraft, so it was painted in camoflauge shades and had small, thick windows. Cain was lead up the steps and shown to a seat whilst the policeman undid the handcuffs.

"You gotta love civillians, seems like you find it hard to keep yours in line" Cain commented as he walked up the steps of the aircraft. Noting the ex-military nature of the aircraft, obviously the Parilsans didn't want to risk losing a decent aircraft. As he was shown to his seat, Cain looked at the police man.

"So what now?"

“I, Mr Cain, am a police officer. It is not my job to be “keeping civilians in line”. I am paid to help them and uphold the law. It is disgusting that you have such an idiotic view of the relationship between the law and the populace.”

“Now,” added the second officer. “We take you back to your country. This will be the last time you’re ever in Parilisa, Cain, so say good bye.”

The pilot checked everyone was onboard and fired up the engines, asking permission to take of along the radio in the cockpit. His friend had died in the recent terrorist attack, and he was angry that these foreigners had tried to use scare tactics on civilised Parilisa.

"We come from different societies, we have different views and beliefs. I am sure you can appreciate that"

Looking around and nodding to the rest of his personnel, catching the eye of Larka and giving her a quick wink to reassure her, not that she needed it. Looking back to the police officer,

"Am I free to talk with my men, also you might want me to phone ahead and clear things at The Wolf Hold, as un like you we will have no problems in shooting this plane down. I assume you already have phoned ahead but they will need personnel confirmation from me otherwise they think it will be a trick."

“Oh, well never mind. They can blow you out of the sky if they want to; I don’t really care.”

“We’ll ring. And yes you are free to go and talk to this lot if you want. Though if I were one of them I’d be feeling pretty let down by you right now. You’re meant to be their leader but you’ve dragged them through this unfortunate business. All in the name of showing of your silly aeroplanes.”

The policeman got a line to the relevant authorities in the Wolf Hold and explained what was happening. He handed the phone to Cain.

"They blow me out the sky, they blow you out the sky, also it was them who suggested the escort, so I am glad your not one of them" Standing up and stretching his legs he walked over and squatted next to Larka, smirking up towards her "Have fun with he police?"

She smiled down at him from her seat and pushed him slightly "More then you probably did"

"Oh very funny, Wolf 4 won't be very happy" He winked as he walked away and took the phone off the police officer, smirking at the obscene gesture Larka sent his way.

"Yeah the police officer is telling the truth......this is the point I say I told you so......yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever Evans, just make sure you don't shoot us down. Yeah that’s a go ahead on Operation Nightshade.....got it...thanks....bye"

Disconnecting the cal he handed the phone back to the police officer, "All cleared"

As he gave the go-ahead to the pilot the plane began to head down the runway, picking up speed as it did so. The police officers both sat and buckled themselves in with the tight seat belts as the pilot brought the plane into takeoff.

Slowly and gracefully the airport fell away from beneath them and they soared upwards into the clear, blue sky. Flying was an exceptional experience for the first officer; he loved to see the scenery spread out below like a complicated jigsaw of thousands of different tones of greens, he loved to see the boats bobbing gently on the grey-blue surface of the sea and he loved to see the industry and activity of cities such as Exengrad.

“What should I expect in The Wolf Hold, Cain?” one of them asked.
The Wolf Hold

"What should you expect? Well we are probably going to land on runway 4 of The Fang military complex. So you will see the Military Heart of The Wolf Hold, a 1000 square kilometre base, with a 10 square kilometre fortress at the centre. The capital of The Wolf Hold and its central fortification. At the moment it is home to about 8,000,000 staff and other military personnel, including four combat ready divisions. Also should be able to see the bay of lupus in the distance from the run-way, we are just assembling for several large scale operations and some naval exercise so we should be able to see Battle Group Lombax and Battle Group Hijinx quite clearly from the runway. Our people are friendly and should welcome you, that is of course you want to step off the plane. I could quite understand if you want to drop us off and then get the hell out of here”

Cain looked out the window and took a look as Parilisa disappeared into the distance, he had already made up his mind that he really didn’t care that he wasn’t welcome their, albeit it was a beautiful country.

“You lot are busy. Planning a war?” laughed the officer. “The Parilisan Armed Forces lack funding, just like the police.”

“Our wages are bloody terrible”

It suddenly dawned on the two officers that they should not be telling a foreign leader, a potential enemy, about the flaws and faults in Parilisan society and they became quickly silent.

Both men were aware, as all Parilisans now were, that their nation was on the brink of an economic disaster; an awful exchange rate, a plummeting budget, a GDP in despair and a soaring unemployment rate were plaguing the once profitable state. There was a disgruntled element amongst the wealthy businessmen who now wanted to see a resignation from the President, who continued to plunge the nation into debt by purchasing warships and other armaments.

((OOC: Do I sense a subtle hint?:p))

"How did you guess are secrets?" Cain said sarcastically, however he made a mental note of the police officers statements on the supposed status of there pay and the funding of their armed forces. He remembered a brief he had read on the way into Parilisa stating that there was some un-rest as some people wanted to see the Parilisan President stand down from office.

"come work for me then, I pay a hell of a lot better don’t I men?" Cain called out and the responding sound of 'yes sirs!', ''woops' and an imitation howl told there own story.

“Money doesn’t matter to us.” said the officer. “We do out job because we love our country. We want to defend the rights of the people, that’s what keeps us going.”

“We serve our country and our President faithfully. Money is nothing in comparison. Its sad that Parilisa is getting itself so worked up by the thought of all these economic problems.”

The camaraderie of this group of soldiers was heart warming and very similar to the feeling members of the Parilisan police had. Parilisans were renowned for their sense of community and cooperation in even the most terrible circumstances, and nowhere was this more evident than the Armed Forces and the police. Without this communal bond the organisations would have crumbled long ago, but still they continued with strength and passion.

"Money is no object to my men either." Turning his head back towards one of his guards. "Corporal Shorebanks, Your dads CEO of Wolverine isn't he?" The youngish looking corporal looked up from what he was doing with his equipment belt.

"Yes sir, he is"

"So why did you join the army? Why not get a cosy job at Wolverine?"

"I wanted to serve my country, my family and you sir!" Shorebanks face was full of pride as he thundered out the answer. The other troops on the plane gave apporving noods and looks towards the Corporals direction, all of them in the same mind as him. Cain nooded to all of them and turned back to the police officers.

"You can't lead a nation focused on its military without the respect and approval of the men and women"

“I couldn’t agree more, Cain.” said the older of the two policemen. “President Klein inspires most people, but the rich and wealthy despise him. His policies have ruined them, whilst those born into poor backgrounds like us two have been given a good chance in life. We adore our leader, we love our country and we will defend the principles of the Republic no matter how badly we get paid.”

“By the way,” said the other. “I’m obliged to give you this.” The officer handed the piece of paper over with a polite smile.

THE REPUBLIC OF PARILISA

A legal issue and warning from the Office of President Nathaniel Klein to The Wolf Hold.

Hereby, under the Airport Security Act 2009, the Possession of Weaponry Act 2005, and the Protection from Intimidation Act 2006 declares all citizens of Wolf Hold who have participated in this incident persona non grata, to be instantly removed from Parilisa. These individuals will be prevented from entering Parilisa again. Furthermore, the weaponry and aircraft used in this incident will be seized by the Parilisan Government under the Rights of Diplomats and Ambassadors Act 2008.

This issue also reminds the Wolf Hold that entry into Parilisa in such a manner in the future may be seen as an act of war.

Yours Sincerely,

"I can understand your presidents position. The wealthy of the Wolf Hold do not paticularly like me either. The benifted from the corrupt democracy that led my nation beforehand. It was them who I belive armed the rioters during our recent food riots. I beleive my current leadership has brought The Wolf Hold into a new age of prosperity, I hope that I wont be rembered like are previous president, however only time will tell. My only fear in this world is that I fail my people" For the first time in this whole affair it became clear how weary Cain actually was. He had lead his nation through a civil war and two invasions, he had then reisted an attempted coup de tat and multiple attempts on his life. He looked back at the men and women who formed his guards, they were smiling and joking as a few of them played cards. More to himself then anyone else.

"Have I failed them? Do they secretly hate me"

“Cain, I haven’t seen anyone as adored as you apart from our President for a long time. These people have a visible amount of respect for you, and seem to be very loyal.”

“If they hated you, Cain, it would have shown up in the interviews with them. But it didn’t. All of them stayed loyal to you and spoke of you with reverence. Trust me, none of them hate you.”

"Yes of course, you are right, sorry about that. Recent events have taken quite a toll on me" Cain was quite embbarsed at the fact he had just needed reasuring of his men and womens loyalty and respect for him. Shaking his head and strighting his jacket, he took another look over his shoulder as one of the younger guard won with a rather amazing hand.

The plane began to descend as The Wolf Hold drew into sight on the ground below the aircraft. With all the skill and expertise of a man born to fly, the pilot gently brought the machine towards the ground.

“Nearly here. I trust we’ll b given permission to land.” Said the policeman.

“We actually have the decency to follow protocol and ask…” mumbled the other with a cheeky smile on his face. “We’ll hand you over with little ceremony. We won’t have to deal with the press, will we?”
The Wolf Hold
17-04-2009, 20:14
With a smirk Cain replied "Any press caught inside the perimeter of The Fang is liable to be imprisoned, and its a 1000 square kilometre base, so no long zoom lens cameras either. When you contact them or the tower contacts you, give them the code Haven-58964 and they will let us land, anything else will result on them shooting us out the sky. Oh and you with the cheeky smile, very funny, you should do stand up" The last comment almost visibly dripping with sarcasm.

As the plane approached the Wolf Hold, perimeter radar stations began tracking it, following the initial lock Central Command vectored two F-15Es to escort it towards The Fang. As soon as the plane was in range, it came in contact with Fang Air Traffic Control. A soft female voice coming over the radio "This is Fang Control Tower to inbound Parilisan Flight, upon reception of code word you are cleared to land on runway 6, located in sector 4. The F-15s will guide you in"

“Haven-58964” said the pilot, on the command of the first police officer.

At first the policemen had disliked Cain and his brash ignorance; the way he entered the airport had shown a degree of moronity and an aggressive idiocy. But slowly they had grown to like him. They realised he was a military man, and a man who did not like to be questioned, but he was also brave and not unkind. His company was pleasurable, if not for his conversation then for the presence which surrounded him.

Confirmed Parilisan flight, cleared to runway 6, Eagle 4 and 9 will guide you in and the runway is lit up, be advised that any deviation from the set route will result in unfortunate circumstrances." As the woman cut the link, lights on one of the eight runway began blinking brightly, also the two F-15Es began vectoring towards the runway.

Cain looked at the two police officers, initaly he had thought this flight would be tiresome, if not annoying, however he had enjoyed the policemens company, it was a shame that he wa snow barred from Parilisa other wise he would of bought them a drink.

“Well Cain, this is the end of our journey. I wish you good luck for the future, though we will obviously not be meeting again.” Said the policeman, offering Cain a hand to shake. “You’ve not been as difficult as I thought you’d be.” A warm smile crossed the officer’s face as the door of the plane opened and fresh light flooded into the humid aircraft.

“Shame you never made it to that party.” Laughed the younger officer. “Parilisa has so much to offer!”

"It is the end the end of our journey, I may not be welcome at Parilisa but you two are always welcome here, perhaps you could visit one time and see the other face of The Wolf Hold" Shaking the officers hand he smiled back "I thought I was in for one boring flight, I was most certianly wrong" As the door opened and Cain stepped out of the plane followed by the rest of his company, an loud shout went up.

"Attention!" A total of forty Wolf Legion Commandos standing to attention flanked the steps from the plane, at the end of the path they created were two NPS MBT140A1s there guns pointed into the air at angles. Turning back around he smiled up to the officers.

"Damn shame, oh well, like I said your people are always welcome here"

The door slid shut and the engines began to spring back to life. The officers sat down with a sigh; it had been a long day which had dragged them across nations, lead them to the detainment of a foreign leader, had them offered a job by a persona non grata of Parilisa and generally caused an amount of trouble not usual in their job.

Stretching out and unbuttoning the top buttons of their top uniforms they contemplated the hectic day they had just had.

“We deserve a drink.” Said the younger with a smile, as he walked over to the front of the plane and found a bottle of whisky. Despite the shakiness of the aircraft he managed to pour two glasses of the strong alcohol and the two drank with big gulps.

“Duty.” Said the older officer. “For duty.”

Watching the plane began to take off Cain turned to the Vice-Wolf's Marshall who had been there to meet him off the plane. "It's good to be back on home soil." Taking the flask Vice-Wolf's Marshall Evans was offering him, taking a sip from it he turned to face the men and women he had taken to Parilisa with him. "Well then, that was a bit of a laugh. Not what we were all expecting but hey thats the bonus of this job, you never expect whats comming." Out of the corner of his eye he saw Larka staring off somewhere behind him, turning his head to see what she was looking at he saw the other members of Wolf Flight, specifacally Larka's Boyfriend Wing Commander Blakefield. This brought a chuckle to Cais face, "All right dismissed and Larka, don't hug the man to death" With a chukle Larka ran and lep into Blakefield's arms.

As the soldiers mingled or climbed aboard vehicles Cain and Evans turned to watch the Parilisan plane in the distance. "Have F-15s from Cavalia AFB escort it to the edge of our territorial waters and then have them return. I think I could do with a good rest now"

Evans rolled his eyes and smirked "You and your ability to get into to trouble, I said the Lombax would of been a better option" Cain just shook his head and started to walk over towards an awaiting 5 and 1/2 ton truck.
