Auslaufend Naval Industries is the successor to the recently nearly bankrupted Eisenseite Naval Industries and takes on all previous customers and designs completed by the ENI staff. No ENI employees were fired during the transition, meaning that ANI inherits its predecessor’s legacy while still forging its own. ANI’s shares are publicly traded on the Falkenberg Stock Exchange, though the Leistungi government currently is in possession of 51% of these shares.

The shipbuilding industry in Leistung receives huge subsidies from the government, and it is estimated that in the shipbuilding capital of Hafenstadt, more than 75% of the population works for or is in some way related to Auslaufend Naval Industries.

Rules

We do in fact enforce a "Brittanican Adenia is God" rule at ANI. Thank you for the logo, BA.

Do not copy statblocks, obviously. If you really don’t know that, I wouldn’t want the business anyways.

I reserve the right to not sell to anyone, for any reason, or to stop the shipment of spare parts to nations who already have ANI ships in their navies. I will never stop shipments of parts from an OOC or IC standpoint unless we are at war.

All orders should be placed in an IC fashion.

Though an ANI ship is in your fleet, you cannot redistribute it to allies without my OOC or IC permission. Likewise, you cannot sell ANI ships.

*Credit for images goes to the amazing drawers at shipbucket. Weapons and equipment has been added or removed to fit the statblocks, but at the end of the day, it's still their core image. Amerikaner is myself, if anyone was interested.

Spitze Class FFG

http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc342/Leistung/GriffonClass.png?t=1239144065

Overview

Built with a level of specialization rarely seen in Leistungi vessels, the Spitze Class guided missile frigate is meant to provide a reliable defense against missile saturation attacks by utilizing the ultra-quick Sylver A70 vertical launch system and the Aster 15 and 30 surface-to-air missiles. Because the Leistungi fleet will be granted large amounts of money from the federal budget to fund extensive refits, the exact number of Spitze Class frigates to be completed has not yet been decided. It is likely, however, that because of its reasonable price and ease of construction, there will be upwards of one hundred ships commissioned by the Bundesmarine.

Propulsion

The Spitze Class uses a combined gas and gas propulsion system (COGAG), meaning that two gas turbines power a single shaft and propeller. Because a smaller gas turbine will run more efficiently at maximum power than a large turbine at half power, the Spitze uses smaller turbines (four of them total to power two propellers). In total, the vessel's turbines produce 98,000shp and can propel the ship to speeds in excess of thirty knots. COGAG is used on a number of Leistungi vessels in addition to being the system used on the Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer--as such, it is known to be an effective method to move the vessel, and requires little specialized training outside standard marine engineering knowledge to operate and maintain.

Electronics Suite

The multi-function EMPAR radar array is the accoutrement which sets the Spitze Class apart from its fellow Leistungi anti-air frigates. Since EMPAR guides Aster 15/30 missiles, which do not require illumination during their flight from the ship's radar, and since EMPAR itself is capable of tracking roughly two hundred airborne targets, the Spitze Class is capable of launching missile volleys at multiple targets, fulfilling its role as a saturation defense vessel. EMPAR can also engage in anti-jamming duties against hostile jamming aircraft, in addition to search and track duties and IFF at roughly three hundred kilometers away. Besides the fire-control system for the Aster missiles, the Spitze Class frigate also is equipped with the LPS.2 air search radar and the L.SAGEM infrared search and track system which can track targets in a three hundred sixty degree arc around the ship up to thirty kilometers away.

Armament

Missile-wise, the Spitze has the capability to hold four types of missiles, two of the surface-to-air variety, and two for land attack.. The Aster 15 and 30 missiles can strike targets at up to thirty and one hundred twenty kilometers (respectively) traveling Mach 3 and 4.5 (again, respectively). The SAM missiles, fired out of a Sylver A70 VLS which is capable of launching six missiles in one second, are both ultra-maneuverable, able to perform turns at 62g. Since both missiles track targets using an active guidance system, they can be fired en masse without the ship's radar having to illuminate the target up until impact. For land attack, the Spitze is capable of carrying the TacTom and SCALP Naval missile, in addition to two 76mm guns for short range attack.

Defense

For close-in missile defense, the Spitze carries fourteen chaff and infrared flare launchers in addition to twenty-four infrared, acoustic, or radar decoy launchers on two axes. Should a missile penetrate the outer layer of missile defense, the Spitze Class is equipped with two Rolling Airframe Missile launchers with forty-eight RIM-116B missiles in addition to two 76mm guns for close-in defense.

Streitwagen Class LHD/CV/HS

Image (http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/3007/streitwagen.png)

Overview

Built as a hybrid between a light aircraft carrier and a helicopter landing dock, the Streitwagen Class LHD is capable of performing both tasks adeptly. The ship also doubles as a hospital ship should the need arise with two operating rooms, an intensive care unit, a sick bay, infectious unit, X-ray unit, and room for two hundred patients, though it should be noted that it is not protected under the Geneva Convention as a medical ship as it carries weaponry independent of those duties. The Bundesmarine expects to replace most of its Hafenstadt Class light carriers and Knight Class LHDs with Streitwagen Class vessels, with a second wave possible to replace older American designs.

Propulsion

Unique among Bundesmarine vessels and borrowing more from civilian designs than military ones, the Streitwagen is equipped with two swiveling pods and an entirely electric propulsion system. One gas turbine and two diesel generators provide 7,800kWs and 19,700 kWs (respectively) worth of power to the two propeller pods without shafts or rudders. An all-electric propulsion system means that fuel costs are much lower and maintenance is easier, and usage of pods (11 MW each) rather than rudders means that maneuverability is not compromised.

The Streitwagen is capable of speeds of about 22 knots (sustained) at sea state four, though an order to take the ship to “all ahead flank” has yielded speeds of thirty knots with the turbo (gas) generator. It must be said, however, that this speed cannot be sustained and in all likelihood will result in permanent damage to the generators and azimuth pods. The ship is most effectively run at ten knots, with efficiency decreasing to roughly 78% until nineteen knots. At maximum speed, the engines run at 86% efficiency and deliver roughly 22,000kW of power to the propellers.

Electronic Systems

The Streitwagen is equipped with a state of the art satellite communications system and has the capability to exchange tactical information with other ships in the fleet it is assigned to. It is able to support command systems for the land-based ship contingent and is equipped with a navigation system as well as Doppler radar. The Streitwagen carries command and control systems to coordinate aircraft on its deck (especially fixed-wing aircraft), but does not carry long-range radar—long-range search and track information must be acquired from its escorts.

Capabilities

If used as an aircraft carrier, the Streitwagen’s light vehicle bay can be filled with fixed-wing or rotary aircraft rather than light vehicles—that bay connects to the hangar via a collapsing bay door and is equipped with an elevator. In this configuration, up to twenty VTOL/STOL aircraft can be stored below deck with six above deck, or the actual hangar can be used to store twelve medium helicopters rather than seven fixed-wing aircraft (19 planes and 12 helicopters total). The entire light vehicle/hangar floor can also be configured to hold thirty medium or fifteen heavy helicopters with no fixed-wing aircraft at all, should the mission call for it. The deck has room to land six medium, four heavy, six VTOL fixed-wing (depending on the size of the aircraft) aircraft, or one STOL aircraft at a time, and fixed-wing aircraft either lift off vertically or use the ski-jump at the fore of the flight deck to achieve altitude.

If in use as an amphibious assault ship or helicopter landing dock, hanger can hold, as previously stated, twelve medium helicopters or seven planes in addition to aircraft on the flight deck (see above). Otherwise, the hanger can accommodate light vehicles, though the entire floor (hangar and light vehicles bay) must not exceed six thousand tons weight. The light vehicle bay itself is approximately 1889 square meters, with an additional 990 square meters available in the hanger. The heavy vehicle bay directly beneath that level can hold 1440 square meters worth of vehicles (30 main battle tanks), and this can be expanded by 975 square meters or approximately sixteen main battle tanks by using the dock as a garage. The dock can hold either a single LCAC or four LCM (or similar) variants, with the addition of four RHIBs.

The ship itself can hold approximately one thousand troops, though the hangar can be used as a troop hold, bringing the total possible troop capacity of the Streitwagen to one thousand three hundred soldiers. Note that this will mean that the hangar cannot be used for air operations. The onboard hospital is fully equipped and, in addition to the rooms previously stated, has a consulting room, a first aid room, an injury selection area, a lab, a chemist’s, and a pharmacy. When used as a hospital ship, the Streitwagen’s hangar and light vehicle floor can be billeted and used as a massive sick bay.

Jäeger Class DDG

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/4529/apar2qw7.png

Overview

The Jäeger Class guided missile destroyer is a state-of-the-art anti-air destroyer fielded with the advanced APAR+SMART-L tracking and guidance system for firing large numbers of missiles to defend the fleet against missiles and aircraft. The Jäeger also is capable of firing Harpoon missiles and using its powerful 127mm main gun to take out surface threats. It is pegged to replace the Höllefeuer Class DDG by 2010.

Propulsion

A CODOG system is installed on the Jäeger in order to give it a high maximum “sprint” speed. There is a diesel engine for every propeller (cruising) and a single gas turbine to close the distance to firing range quickly in the case of an imminent threat. Gearing is extremely simple, but the gas turbine eats up fuel at a pace that lowers the ships maximum range.

Electronics Suite

The sensors on the Jäeger are the most important part of anti-air system, and the two most important sensors (APAR and SMART-L) take up the majority of the ship’s superstructure. The SMART-L can detect small aircraft at up to 400 km, and patrol aircraft at 600 km, and it can track up to 1000 airborne and 100 seaborne targets. The APAR can fire up to 32 missiles simultaneously at 16 targets, giving it an unrivaled anti-missile swarming attack. The APAR also can guide the Jäeger’s 127mm main gun.

Armament

The Jäeger Class is armed with a single 64-cell vertical launch system capable of holding 256 quad-packed ESSM’s or 64 SM-2 IIIA long-range SAM’s. For surface attack, the Jäeger carries 8 Harpoon missiles, and its 127mm gun can be used as an anti-ship or anti-land platform. Two Rolling Airframe Missile launchers provide short-range protection for the destroyer, with six 533mm torpedo tubes providing ASW protection.

Defense

The FL1800S is an electronics warfare suite which jams up to eight sources at the same time using frequencies ranging from 7.5-17 GHz. It can also concentrate on jamming a single source if the situation warrants it. Six rapid-bloom chaff launchers protect against missiles not engaged by the comprehensive anti-aircraft system of ESSMs, RAMs, and SM-2’s.

Falken Class DDG

http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/2394/rokddmj8.png

Overview

As the threat of war loomed over the Federal Republic of Leistung, the decision was made to produce a general-purpose destroyer to supplement current ENI designs. The Falken Class was designed to perform a wide range of tasks, including anti-air support, land attack, and anti-ship warfare, all made easy by its advanced Aegis fire control/tracking system. The Bundesmarine has ordered sixty-two Falken Class destroyers to be delivered by the early spring, and these vessels will likely begin combat operations soon after.

Propulsion

The Falken Class uses a simple and reliable COGOG propulsion system, consisting of two separate systems of one small and one large gas turbine each. Being able to select one turbine or the other allows for cycling between cruising and high-speed operations, and ensures that fuel efficiency is kept to a maximum. There is no option to select both turbines at the same time, meaning that a large and potentially unreliable gearbox is avoided, and because the larger turbines can run the ship at over 30 knots, there is no need for this option.

Electronics Suite

As an Aegis-equipped ship, the Falken uses only the most advanced in tracking and firing equipment. An AN/SPY-1D radar system is the centerpiece of the Aegis, and encompasses a 360-degree area with no need for radar rotation. The AN/SPY-1D can track hundreds of targets at the same time, and can fire a missile every two seconds, with only ten seconds necessary between initial illumination and firing procedures. It can illuminate, track, and engage targets at up to 190 km from the ship, though the vessel must still rely on its AN/SPG-62 for terminal guidance of SM-2 missiles.

Armament

The Falken’s armaments are varied, and the vessel has the capability to engage targets in any battlespace, be it surface, land, air, or undersea. The ship’s anti-air weapons include eighty SM-2 Block IIIB long range missiles (any one cell of these may be swapped out for four ESSM’s) and two short-range RAM missile launchers, while anti-submarine warfare can be carried out by six torpedo tubes and a number of ASROC missiles which can be combined with TLAM’s in the aft vertical launch system. Against surface threats, the Falken can use its impressive number of Harpoon missiles (sixteen total), while against land targets, a complement of 32 TLAM’s is generally preferred.

Defense

The AN/SLQ-32(V)3 is an electronic warfare system capable or warning, identification, direction-finding, and jamming of incoming anti-ship missiles. Should an incoming missiles somehow get past the battlegroup’s lines of defense, the Falken is equipped with six super-rapid-bloom chaff launchers to confuse and divert the tracking systems of those missiles.

Tödlich Class SSN

http://img126.imageshack.us/img126/7685/newssnpnghf8.png

Overview

Built as a long-term replacement/supplement for the Grosserberg and Kornchnaps Class SSN’s currently in use in the Leistungi Navy, the Tödlich Class SSN is a fast, ultra-quiet, and extremely deadly attack submarine. It is planned to be produced in large numbers and deployed as the mainstay of the Leistungi ASW wing, along with dedicated surface ships and maritime patrol aircraft. Capable of operating deep in enemy territory with close to absolute stealth, the Tödlich is the ultimate in silent warfare.

Propulsion

The Tödlich uses an LS9 pressurized water reactor which uses 45% enriched uranium-235 fuel. A pressurized water reactor has the distinct advantage of being very safe and much easier to operate from a stability standpoint than a boiling water reactor, and the LS9 is capable of producing a hefty 190 MWt of power, meaning that the safety is not paired with a drop in performance. The Tödlich Class SSN can also run on conventional power, using a single steam turbine and two turbogenerators.

Electronics Suite

The Tödlich is designed with a state-of-the-art combat sensor system, centered around an AN/BSY-2 primary computer. The AN/BSY-2 controls the subsidiary sensors, including a AN/BQQ-5E sonar array, which is a low frequency passive/active search and attack sonar. It is commonly paired with a number of other highly advanced systems, including two types of towed sonar arrays capable to detecting enemy submarines from extreme distances and a short-range active sonar system to detect ice around the frozen waters of Leistung.

Armament

Comparatively to other SSN’s, the Tödlich carries relatively light torpedoes. It is capable of holding forty torpedoes or missiles and firing them out of eight 533 mm tubes located on the bow of the vessel. It is the first SSN in Leistungi service to carry the VA-111 Shkval supercavitating torpedo (under the military designation “LT-10”), which gives the submarine an unrivaled offensive punch.

Defense

The Tödlich is equipped with 14 (thirteen external) countermeasure launchers. These countermeasures seek to distract acoustic-homing torpedoes in the water and divert them from the submarine itself.

Fuchs Class FFG

http://i526.photobucket.com/albums/cc342/Leistung/FoxClass.png?t=1239148528

Overview

The Fuchs is a Leistungi class of frigates used for stealthy insertions behind enemy blockades and ship-ship warfare against light-medium enemy ship types. The primary weapon of the Fuchs is its stealth, and often times captains will travel circles around enemy targets, using its low radar cross-section and extremely high speed to their advantage.

Task

In 2001 the Leistungi government offered up a contract to create a new littoral combat ship to fill the role of a special forces insertion craft. ENI responded by announcing the Fuchs Class, a frigate (slightly larger than intended) capable of going deep behind enemy lines undetected by radar and dropping troops before the battle began. In order to protect itself, and function in multiple roles, VLS and Harpoon missile systems were also included, in addition to a 76mm main gun. With an abnormally large hangar and large mission control center on-board, the Fuchs is the number one choice vessel of special forces teams all over Leistung.

Propulsion

A complex propulsion system is equipped on the Fuchs class, consisting of two gas and two diesel turbines, four swiveling waterjets, and four diesel generator, in total producing 62,000 horsepower. The inclusion of the waterjet system is a first for a Leistungi ship, and functions much in the same was thrust vectoring does for a fighter plane, allowing for extremely tight turns to port or starboard. The jets also run nearly silently as opposed to normal propellers and are capable of moving the ship independently, albeit slowly, if noise is to be kept to a minimum.

Electronics Suite

The Fuchs Class is the first ENI ship equipped with the new AS-292 air search radar, allowing the Fuchs to target up to seven objects traveling less than mach 2.4 at a range of 450km. Also new on the Fuchs is the STFF and MMCS fire control systems, allowing for the targeting of up to eight targets and the elimination of them by either guns or missiles. The MMCS also permits the firing of all eight Harpoon missiles simultaneously in a circular range around the vessel up to 100km due to its dual function surface search/fire control role.

Defense

The Fuchs comes complete with two Stato missile decoy launchers, consisting of four tubes able to fire off decoys which linger in the air above the intended target for several seconds, drawing in the incoming missiles. After the missile is a sufficient distance from the decoy (about 500 meters) the decoy (consisting of a sphere roughly the size of a basketball) fires off a minuscule projectile, internally guided and locking on almost immediately to the threat, impacting with enough force to self-detonate the missile. In addition to the Stato, the Fox also carries rapid-bloom chaff launchers and a single Goalkeeper II CIWS system.

Azure Class Ocean Liner

Image (http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/795/cruise.png)

Profile

The LSS Azure and her sister ships are the most luxurious ocean liners ever to come out of the shipyards of Hafenstadt, and number among the most luxurious liners ever built. Measuring three hundred fifty meters in length and weighing in at near one hundred fifty thousand gross tons, the Azure is the longest, tallest, widest, and heaviest ocean liner currently operated by Orion Lines. However, superlatives alone cannot describe the grandeur of the Azure, and the once in a lifetime experience of taking a voyage, whether across the world, or across the sea, on the LSS Azure. With a ratio of one crew member per couple and Orion’s famed golden service record, passengers can expect to be treated as royalty would, and with spacious rooms and sweeping golden staircases, they certainly would not be far off.

With amenities ranging from an IMAX theater, a luxurious health resort and spa, a nautical museum, eleven restaurants (including two pubs), a casino, nightclub, library, four pools, and a theater which runs everything from opera to Shakespeare to modern comedy routines, there’s something for everyone on the Azure. There are upwards of six thousand pieces of art aboard the Azure, in addition to flora from the far reaches of the globe and somewhere in the order of ten thousand volumes in the ship’s library.

For older passengers, the King Herman Cigar Lounge, located near the ship’s bow, presents a unique “adults-only” experience, while younger guests can experience the Play Zone for their own brand of age-based fun. The Azure’s crew hails from some one hundred different nations, and even if one does not speak German, the crewmembers that interact with the passengers are all fluent in English, as well as German and French. Members of the staff working in restaurants can be expected to be experts in the fields of wines and food, with chefs plucked from the finest restaurants in the world and placed in the kitchens of the Azure. Dancers can be expected to be world class, and the varied performers are often some of best (and best-known) in the world.

Even the crew behind the scenes is expected to be top notch—the Azure’s veteran captain served at the helm of Bundesmarine vessels for some twenty years, and the ship’s First Officer recently retired from his post as captain of eccentric billionaire Hans Gluten’s own personal yacht to take up his post aboard the Azure. Orion Lines prides itself on quality, and everyone, from the engineers to the oilers to captain, is a leader in their field. The ship’s medical staff, led by the esteemed Doctor Rosen of Leistung, consists of no less than twenty fully licensed physicians, in addition to a stocked pharmacy and pharmacy staff.

Technical and Safety

The Azure is powered by four sixteen-cylinder diesel engines and two gas turbines in a CODAG layout. Propulsion is provided by four propellers in independently rotating pods, removing the need for a rudder entirely. These pods also contain one electrical motor each, powered by electrical generators near the ship’s stern (which in turn are powered by the diesel engines and gas turbines), and the entire layout is completely soundproofed and laid out to minimize vibrations. Nearer to the bow, the Azure has six thrusters (three on port, three on starboard) which facilitate easy docking and can also be used to provide extra steering power under duress. With all propulsion systems accounted for, the Azure can reach speeds of thirty-two knots, far above those normally reached by cruise ships—this is one of the crowning features of the ocean liner.

Four stabilizers serve to prevent ninety percent of rocking on the high seas, and the captain can use the Azure’s advanced propulsion systems to keep the ship at a fixed location without the use of anchors, which can be dangerous in rough weather (though the Azure does have three anchors). A joystick on the bridge controls the vessel’s course, and the bridge comes complete with flatscreen plasma displays to show maneuvering, radar, navigation, weather, and a variety of other vital ship functions.

The Azure also comes with two foghorns which can be heard at five miles away and a single whistle which sounds a traditional deep bass A note (heard at up to ten miles). The vessel is also equipped with an emergency position-indicating radio beacon (EPIRB), and for passive safety, the ship’s hull is composed of reinforced steel, able to withstand hurricane-force winds and seas. Watertight doors and compartments are laid out in transverse subdivisions and close to protect against spreading fires, or, in a worst-case scenario, flooding (the ship is able to remain afloat with seven of its fifteen compartments completely flooded, or all fifteen completely flooded). However, advanced navigation and communications equipment makes collision nearly impossible, and the hull is designed to withstand storms.

C6F12O, or Novec 1230 is used as a fire suppressant in the engine rooms and non-passenger areas as a last-resort defense against fires, though it should be noted that Novec 1230 is dangerous to humans if the rooms are not first evacuated. Inergen is used as a suppressant in passenger areas, which, while still dangerous, is unlikely to be fatal. It is only to be used in the case of emergency, when the fire cannot be fought using conventional means for whatever reason.

Accommodations

The Azure is not a classed vessel, but accommodations are divided into three rooming zones based on price alone. At the top tier of the rooming chart is the two fore penthouses, both complete with whirlpool tubs, walk-in closets, bars, a balcony and master bedroom, and access to the glass elevator on the starboard side of the ship. Passengers rooming in either of the two penthouses can expect butler service (on-call and available twenty-four hours a day). Each penthouse is a full two stories tall and totals roughly two thousand square feet, not counting the private sun terrace and lounge for the two penthouses.

Below the penthouses in luxury are the Royal Suites (six in total), each totaling one thousand square feet and located near the stern of the ship. Passengers here will still experience the luxury of their own personal butler and the service of the full concierge staff, but at a lower price and a slightly smaller, but still grand room. Below the Royal Suites are the Junior Suites measuring in at four hundred square feet each, and below that are the standard rooms (anything but standard). Eighty percent of these rooms have an ocean view, and of those, all have a balcony; whether sheltered or glassed. Internal rooms are slightly larger than ocean view rooms, and all standard rooms come with twenty-four hour room service, a king-size bed, and roughly two hundred ten square feet of living space.

Cost

Foreign nations may purchase the export variant of the LSS Azure, though names for specific floors and rooms will need to be engraved by the nation in question. The export cost is $950 million for a single ocean liner.
