This wall will be around 2640 feet high and 125.4 feet thick, a wonder in military technology. Word had spread that Mexanius is also increasing its manpower. Our nation is becoming.."

After that was said, the newscast went off-line. . . five minutes later, it came back on-line with another representative.

"Our apologies for the delay. Our representative became ill, and had to stop reporting. Now back over to Sports!"

To the goveernment of Mexanius,

We have recieved reports that your nation and its military plan to build a massive wall around its borders. I must recommend against this.

Firstly, have you considered how monstrously expensive this will be? Your nation will be bankrupt, or very close to it. So, in spite of any (percieved) advantages in defense against external threats this wall may give you, you will be exposing yourself to massive internal danger when the economic woes caused by this project reach your people.

Second, have you considered how many people it will require to man such a wall? A wall across only one of your borders would be a massive undertaking insofar as running and upkeeping it are concerned.

Third, such a wall will turn international opinion, quite possibly, hostile to you, as such an isolationist action could be percieved as hostile to foreign economic interests.

You would be better off building a system of trenches and artillery emplacements, realistically.

OOC: Oh, didn't see the height. I meant a large wall around the country wasn't impossible. A 2600-ft-high wall isn't possible, period. No matter how long it is. That isn't a wall, its a skyscraper.

Although, it probably would be possible. Its just that an earthquake that registered .05 on the Richter scale would topple it immedietely. If the wind didn't do it.

In response to the news of the impossible wall, the Emperor congratulated the government of Mexanius for its extreme sarcasm. He would, however, like to see what the real plans are.

Building a wall around your nation can is a very wise course of action. However a wall of that size would be - excessive, to say the least. We suggest that you build a wall of only about 18-40 feet high. We have built a wall like this around our own nation, and it is highly effective against illegal immigrants and drug smugglers.
