IC-It was a regular day in Metros, the Telviran capital. It was a clear sky, warm. The embassy of the the Federation of Lingard was located towards the southern part of the International Quarter.

At approximately 10:30AM, a white moving van stopped in front of the embassy's gate. A minute later, it blew up. The massive explosion destroyed the gate and a bit of the surrounding wall. Two black vans pulled up, disgorging 18 men armed with G3 assault rifles. They rushed in and in a matter of minutes they had rounded the embassy's staff. The terrorist leader used the embassy's emergency broadcast to send the following message:
We are the Army for the Liberation of Saarland. We have taken the embassy of the Federation of Lingard under our control. If the Telviran government does not withdraw its occupation forces from Saarland in 12 hours, we will kill the hostages and destroy this building. Any attempt to rescue the hostages will result in their deaths. You have 12 hours.

Less than an hour later, three Saxon APCs and two Pandur APCs stopped in front of the embassy. They disgorged 54 members of the Domestic Security Force's elite Hostage Rescue Unit (HRU), who took up positions around the embassy. There they waited while Telvira and Lingards began forming a plan.

"Wasil," Najid said to his friend, "Let us pray. It is time." Wasil touched his friend on the shoulder and lowered his automatic kalashnikov rifle, laying it on the floor before him. Facing towards Mecca, they prayed together with the other two Mujahideen warriors with them.

"There is no God but Allah, and Muhammed is his Prophet." They recited the entire salaat, or prayer, which all Muslims must recite four times a day. These men were Mujahideen, Islamic Holy Warriors, Allah's chosen fighters. It was unusual, these fighters cooperating with foreigners such as the Saarlandis. However such an alliance of common interest was beneficial. Perhaps, Najid reasoned, they might influence some of them towards Islam and exponentially increase the worth of the venture. It was unlikely, but noone would deny him his reverie.

"The Telviran Police have started gathering," one of the Mujahideen, named Namir, said calmly, while resting his PKM machine gun on his thigh. "This is going to be interesting." Namir was larger than the others. His muscular body was thick and well toned, while he stood at nearly six foot three inches. Much larger than his compatriots.

"Allah-u Akbar," they each whispered the Holy Takbir. In the office room which the Mujahideen had established themselves, they could over look the front gate, which was now nothing more than a blackened crater in the ground with the burning husk of what had been a van parked infront. Many of the windows had been shattered by the concussion, the better they could target the infidel's arrayed before them.

The oldest among them, a forty year old warrior named Mu'adh, sat in the back of the room, solemnly. He had seen many wars, and knew this would be his final stand. In a sense, he was saddened that his life would certainly end here. He wished to continue the fighting which had consumed his life since the early dawning years of his adolescent and adult life, yet also was honored that he could be here to fight and die among these young Mujahids. The foreign fights, the Saarlandis, also had earned his respect. He was proud to fight with them and hoped they felt the same.

"Stay alert my brothers," Mu'adh advised. "Do not let them find you off guard. Stay ever alert and we shall end many of their worthless lives this day." The others hung on his every word, even the large, bull-headed Namir.

"Inshallah, we shall deal them quite a blow," Najid nodded to Mu'adh. "It is our destiny."

"I certainly hope so, my young friend," Mu'adh said calmly, "I certainly hope so. Time shall tell."

Takaram Chief Defense Officer General Ronald Strauss stormed into his office. He had been awakened early by one of his advisers, telling him of a situation involving a terrorist group and an embassy. He had just left a meeting with his staff, where he was fully informed of the situation, as well as handed an order from the Council to offer support in the situation.

To: Government of the Sovereign Nation of Telvira

In one of the buildings across from the embassy, a sniper drew a bead on one of the terrorists. "This is Reaper 2, I have target in my sights, request fire clearance." "Roger, this is Reaper Control. Take the shot." "Roger that," the sniper cut the connection, resighted to account for the wind, and fired.

OOC-the rifle is a M99 "Big Shot" .50cal rifle, so even if if doesn't hit it will go through the outer wall and do some damage

Outside the Embassy
Col. Theo Beard was not happy. As the on-duty controller of the DSF, he was in charge of this situation. Sitting in his Fennek command vehicle, he awaited the Lingard response to his message.

To the Government of the Federation of Lingard
