What a glorious week this will be. It had been decades since ViZion hosted its first Special Olympics. Since then, much has changed in ViZion. Including its geographical home. But much remained unchanged, such as the generosity of the ViZionarian hearts.
It was on a beautiful, warm spring morning in Vitalita that offered up a wonderful cloudless baby-blue sky, fresh air, and a festive beach scene. But it wasn't just another day for a few thousand people. The Special Olympians and their family and friends took to the beaches for the opening ceremony of this amazing event. One that promised pride and tears of joy for a group of people that wouldn't often get the respect they deserve.
And for these Special Olympians, their first moment of fame would be coming as each was named in introductions, the crowds going wild cheering for them and giving them shouts of encouragement. Yes... what a glorious week this will be.
