OOC: Haven station has been destroyed. sorry. *shrugs*

OOC: I set this up so that other nations have a stationary location to arrange diplomatic meetings for trade and military contracts.

Located in a neutral spot of territory just above the galactic plane.

Haven (http://fc29.deviantart.com/fs12/i/2006/283/4/d/Halifax_Station_by_strangelet.jpg) (above view)

Length: 11km
Width: 11km
Height: 12km
Storage hangar: 100,000 drone interceptors.
Drydock capacity: 4km/1km/1km X12
Docking capacity: approximately 7200 docking and repair bays
crew: 10,000,plus another 6000 marines.
Guest capacity: 1,000,000
guest cabins: 500,000
Armaments: 600 quad barrel sliver cannon point defense guns. 12 quad barreled 900mm gravitic drivers. 12 Drone command relays.

The station seemed to appear out of nowhere, sending out signals of greeting and trade. A few dozen RTMR freighters can be seen around the station.

The station continued to transmit its greeting across known space.

The Planetery Republic Cargo Ship Supplier, dropped out of warp near the station. Having received the transmission they had gone to investigate. Approaching curisously due to the War that the PR was involvved in.

There is a flash of light, and the conical form of a USSPP Flipper class Scoutship dropped out of hyperspace. Its pilot looked up at the station above him, and his mouth dropped open. A few transmissions flew across the subether, and the scoutship continued on toward the station.
Transmission to the Station:

"This is the USSPP Rally requesting permission to dock, Over."

The TEEF Frigate 'Angelic Dawn' had detected an isolated transmission while on a routine patrol of neighboring star systems. The Market Assessment, Customer Evaluation (MACE) high command wanted the nearby systems surveyed in case TRIAD's new colony was too close to any hostile nations or empires.

The captain of the Angelic Dawn was a Reikoan named Leena Shen Al Burahk, a career military woman who saw it has her duty to the company to protect TRIAD's assets and interests. When the ship's resident digital intelligence, Rathalon finally decoded the signal, Leena was pleased to find the welcoming invitation for trade and first contact. A message drone would take several hours to deliver the news, so Leena opted to use the I-Coms relay her ship had been equipped with to contact HQ for orders.

Two hours later, Leena had updated astrogation data and orders to seek out the source of the transmission and initiate first contact. Leena was authorized to conduct any initial negotiations that might be required to establish a trade relation with whatever nation or other entity had sent the message.
So the 170 meter long ship located the nearest Slipstream access point, using purchased technology to travel along hyper-dimensional superstrings. Leena piloted the ship using her neural interface, searching out the coordinates specified in the transmission.

The trip took only three jumps, but finally the small ship dropped out of Slipstream in the right place. The organic hull changed color from it's usual stealth black to a more visible pattern, the smooth surface bearing no indication of weapon ports, thrusters, sensors, or anything that resembled other ship equipment. To sensors, the whole thing registered as a living thing, which it was.
Now it was time to see what the locals did about their arrival.

OOC: Okay, I *was* going to include some example images of what the organic frigate ship looks like, but I don't have a high enough post count. Soon as I do, I'll add the links to my future posts.

The bridge of the station was buzzing with activity, it had been up and running for a few days now and it looked like the first few arrivals were coming in. "Commander, we have three unknown contacts, their transmitting various greetings." The commander smiled a bit. "This is where our job really starts. send abroad range message. "This is the Red Talons Mercenary Republic trade station Haven. I am Station commander Ribryn. Welcome to our little corner of space. Your more than welcome aboard my station, weapons are forbidden within 10km of this station, any activation of, or discharge of such a nature will be treated as a hostile act. That having been said, welcome and we look forward to doing business with you."

The message was transmitted out to all ships in the area, the USSPP ship would receive docking clearance, as well as directions to one of the docking bays.

"Greetings Trade Station Haven. I am Agent Leena Shen Al Burahk of the TRIAD Enterprises Expeditionary Fleet frigate "Angelic Dawn". I would like to request permission to dock with your station. As this is a first contact between our peoples, might I suggest a diplomat or trade negotiator be on hand to welcome us?"

Leena looked over the message to be sent to the station. Yes, that would do for now. While she was authorized to begin trade negotiations, it might be better to get some of the formalities out of the way, and hopefully learn what specifics these beings might be interested in trading with and for. "Rathalon, please send that message to the station using a comms laser. If they respond favorably, plot a course and engage traction drives. I'll be in my quarters."

The Digitial Entity simply gave a confirming chime to acknowledge the orders, then the message was sent.

The commander nodded after listening to the transmission. "Give them the green light for bay two, have a standard greeting prepared." One of the bridge officers nodded, relaying the orders, informing the TRIAD ship of where to dock.

By the time the Angellic Dawn had maneuvered into position and docked with the Haven station, Leena had taken a long shower, groomed her pelt, and dressed in her best formal uniform. Of course, to a Reikoan a formal uniform consisted of multicolored, flowing silks in what might be recognized by some Terran societies as arabian dress. She also altered her fur color and pattern to accent and fit with the silks.

As the stations docking systems connected to the frigate, Leena made her way down to the attached airlock. Accompanying her was the only other officer on board, a Marduk named TR-792-G, which Leena had nicknamed Trig. For this meeting, Trig had swapped into a humanoid designed frame-body, and had dressed in a spartan uniform of blue and black.

The two TRIAD employees waited for the airlock to cycle before stepping onto the station proper, looking around curiously and expectantly for their welcoming committee.

Their welcome committee consisted of a black haired neko, who looked to be in his early twenties. He wore black robes with red and purple trim. A Torc around his neck that shone in the stations artificial light. On the sides of the walkway were actual shrubs lining the walls of the corridor. They looked something like thick terran shrubs, but were covered in all manner of cherry blossom like flowers. The walls and roof of the station were designed to appear as if they were clear and looking out into a night sky.

The neko bowed formally, on his hip he had a sheathed katana, it was black with red accents in the hilt. "I am Saye, I'll be your political liaison durring your stay, if you would like, i could take you to a more appropriate place for buisness negotiations?"

The Reikoans could best be described as bipedal, plantigrade, humanoid skunks... Or at least that was the closest terran counterpart. The difference was that Reikoan hair, or fur depending on one's viewpoint, was analogous to fiber-optics, with special chromatic cells at the base. What this meant is that a Reikoan can change the color and pattern of their fur, at will, and at very good speeds.

Right now Leena's pelt was a gradient shading between blue and teal, the dominant colors of her clothing being red and violet. However, her suprise and pleasure at seeing a reasonably familliar species greet her sent a ripple of relaxed violet across her mostly exposed pelt, before settling back to the previous shades. Leena mirrored Saye's bow, then stepped forwards and offered her four-fingered hand to the felinoid, "I am Agent Leena Shen Al Burahk of the TRIAD Enterprises colony on Rhydin. You may call me Leena if this is easier. This is my executive officer, Trig. We are pleased to be here, and please show us the way."

The humanoid machine had bowed when introduced, but otherwise remained silent and impassive. Right now it was observing and recording everything it witnessed, for later archival and analysis both by itself and headquarters.

As Leena followed behind the neko, she looked around casually and smiled, "What can you tell me about your 'Red Talons Mercenary Republic'? Obviously we have never encountered each other's peoples before, although I am familliar with several species with which you share a resemblance."

He regarded the felineoid with a sort of curiosity, having never seen such vivid color control in a species so similar to his own. He reached out, not actually shaking her hand, but merely brushing his fingertips, she would feel his presence outside her mind, feelings of curiosity and comfort.

"We are nomads. This station is -the- single most stationary structure in the Republic. And even this massive station is jump capable in case of emergency." He paused, looking the feline over. "I am descended from a people much like yourselves. Long ago we were forced to leave our homeworlds. My people, the Sholans, were a race of telepaths with much similar characteristics to the ones we share. The republic is comprized into three general races," He continued as he led the two down the corridor and into an elevator. Once inside the pod, it began to ascend. "There is the Ctarl Ctarl, a race of humanoid shape-shifters, varying between feline and lupine breeds, there are humans, which make up the overall minority, and the final 40% is comprised of various species of anthropomorphic humanoids of varying species." He paused as the turbo-lift opened, showing a field, some of the stations crew could be seen relaxing having a meal or flirting with eachother. Walkways snaked out in different directions through the park area leading to freestanding archways that held corridors to other parts of the station. "anything else you were wondering about?"

When Leena felt the brush of fingers on her own, she also felt the brush of the envoy's mind across her awareness. Leena was not a telepath herself, but she was not psi-dead either, she would have to remember to focus her thoughts carefully around this male to avoid any unwanted intrusions. Her head canted to the side as he explained his species, "I have heard of the Sholan, although I personally have never met one. These anthropomorphs, are they Constructs? Genetic recombinants?"

"Yes, I was more curious about your culture, and more specifically the types of technology you employ. TRIAD Enterprises is a corporate state, and in addition to various products, we often sell technology to interested parties. If I know more about the technology you currently have, I might be able to suggest something we can sell to your people." Leena's smile as she made the minor sales pitch showed her pearl-white fangs in her blunted muzzle, her fur shifting color into a warm red-gold gradient under her silks.

Trig followed along at a close pace at Leena's left, head twitching around and observing everything it could with more senses than mere optical sight. The machine was under orders to record everything of note while Leena explored the psychology of the potential customers.

"Are you sure about this?" the Sertian female said to the Selac that was her cohort in this operation. Although, the Sertian (a female by the name of Selacity) now looked indistinguishable from any normal human. Her bright green hair had been dyed a dull brown, and the tiger like stripes on her neck and also been dyed by colerms*.

"Hey, a mission is a mission. 'Sides, we're both Alpha Division and passed out anti-psychic training with flying colors," the Selac, Nerek spoke. There was no disguising him as a human, the race of near fennec foxes being shaped to different (not to mention covered with fur) to pass off as a human even in the lowest of lights. However, they had done their best to dye his fur to look more like that of an anthropomorphic red fox, and his ears were hidden underneath head garment to try and make him look as much like a different species as possible.

"I suppose, still... Lying for all day? I've always hated espionage missions such as these. I always feel guilty after it ends, especially if I've made friends during my time undercover."

"Now, now... I'll make sure to treat ya when we get back to New Port, alright?"

"Alright... We're dropping out soon anyway... Reaching Real Space in 3, 2, 1..." the women's words were cut short as the sparkling, incandescent particles that made up the the visible universe of the Drift seemed to flow away into nothing, disappearing and being replaced by the 12 kilometer long station that was their destination.

The vessel, obviously some sort of storage carrier with only enough weapons that could summarized as 'barely capable of out gunning a star fighter', and equipped with enough point defense canons for it's nearly two kilometer size, stood motionless a few hundred kilometers from the station. It waited a few seconds for the station to detect it's presence, then a few more for information to be relayed to the people that would handle communications, before finally sending a text only transmission in what the Sertian's had come to understand as Galactic Basic (which in simple terms meant English).

<To the Haven, this is the Alphonse, a trading vessel of the Serigate Plasma Trade Federation. We bring a cargo of resources, technology, and infantry weapons for trade and, if you demand it, inspection.

Saye led the two to a briefing room, that looked something like what you would expect. The walls were decorated with various space-scapes. He smiled a bit, "I'm prohibited from telling you entirely what we use. But i can tell you it is a combination of gravitic and fission technology. we play with magnetic fields and their uses. Everything else is varying sources, nothing special. As for culture, We are very open minded, same sex couples are rather common. As well as inter species. We have enough genetic engineering technology to allow for mixed racial children, and for genetic alterations if desired. Most of our anthropomorphic population is natural save for cosmetic changes such as hair color, maybe extra tails."

On the command deck- "Sir, another contact." The message scrolled across the screen. The station commander nodded. "Have them dock in one of the stations dry-docks. inform them that their cargo will be inspected for trade." The comms officer nodded, and relayed for them to enter Bay three. Its guide-lights trailing out and angling to the sertian vessel to act as guide lines for the pilot.

Snow crunched beneath Haruki’s boots as he walked alongside the metal behemoth, his bare hand running across its cold surface. Behind him Gorou was sitting at a makeshift bench of ice controlling a floating set of camera-drones through a medium sized laptop.

“This is incredible,” he shouted as one of the drones flashed brightly. “It’s definitely a Rhunate design, but I will need more time and access to a proper database before I can determine which class.”

“You’ll have it.” Haruki replied softly, pressing his gloved fingers to his ear. “Aina, have you found anything?”

“Negative Taisa,” a feminine voice replied. “It has been sealed up tight. Sections of the ship are still sealed so tight they don’t have any atmosphere.”

“Operational capacity?”

“Minimal. Amazingly there is still power running through the generators, and I believe most of the computer systems are still capable of running.”

“What do you base that on?” Gorou’s voice intruded.

“Lost a Lotus,” she replied mournfully. “Got itself wiped by a security virus.”

“Recoverable?” Haruki asked, sighing softly.

“No. It was smoking softly when it was recovered.”

“Well, we should earn a nice sum selling the location of this bastard. So it’s replaceable” He smiled. “I’m thinking once we get the payment cleared that we find somewhere to spend our hard earned cash, as well as pretty up the Akirakyo.”

“Sounds good Taisa.” Aina cheered.

“A challenge to get the Taisa Drunk again Aina?” Gorou shouted brazenly causing Haruki to flinch.

“Sure, twenty gee-credits and a round of drinks says you can’t.” she replied, laughing.

“You’re on.”

=-=-=

“Payments cleared, were do you want to go?” Haruki said as he wandered into the common lounge of the Akirakyo.

“We were going over the interlink, found some new place called Haven not far from here.” Gorou chuckled softly. “Run by Mercs, so they’ll have some pretty decent equipment to fit up Akira with. Not sure if they’ll have access to any Lotus drones though.”

“I’ll order some from SAI-Industries and get them delivered to this place ASAP. I’m guessing Aina is already setting jump coordinates now?” There was a slight shudder as the ship very suddenly began moving at superluminal velocities.

“I’ll send a message ahead.”

"We've got clearance for a docking port," the anthro being said as he started to type, adjusting the navicomputer to guide the ship slowly towards the designated docking port. Small plasma thrusters would guide the ship as it's back engines functioned at minimal power, until finally the vessel would settle into it's docking port.

"Alright good... All the information has been whipped, correct?" the Sertian disguised as a human spoke, typing at her station to give one last run through of the ship's computers. The navicomputer had nothing that could be used to trace it back to the Empire, although a few fictitious locations were entered which were labeled as Serigate Plasma Trade Stations. Any investigation into the area would reveal that there was nothing there, and probably never was.

"Yep, we've checked it twice before. There's nothing that can be used to trace this vessel back to the Empire, except for how it's designed."
