Admiral Blane peered out across the sea from the platform of the conning tower as his ship gathered up fresh air and awaited rendezvous with the other wolf packs which were going to be taking up station with his battle group.

A salty mist blanketed his black cold weather jacket, small droplets of sea water clung to his beard as the old admiral peered out across the dark ocean waiting for the signal the other wolf packs had arrived.

Finally after nearly an hour waiting in the frigid Atlantic waters a faint glimmer broke through the darkness in the distance.

Blane had his signal and promptly returned with several beacon flashes of his own. Some would call the use of flashing beacons obsolete and foolish, however being close to enemy territory, and the moon covered by thick clouds signaling would not compromise the element of surprise Blane enjoyed whereas radio interceptions could be intercepted.

Descending slowly back into the bowels of his ship Blane turned to one of his aides removing his wet overcoat and handing it off to be hung and dried.

After a brief moment of relaxation, and a nice cup of hot coffee Blane made his way down the long and cramped hallway of the ship stopping finally at an old wooden door with a small square pane of opaque glass. Blane entered the room shutting the door softly behind him.

Awaiting Blane inside sat several men around a large circular mahogany table, all dressed in dark blue or black uniforms many of them boasted numerous medals which glimmered softly in the room's bright overhead lights, their breast pockets lined with row after row of ribbons and other various awards.

Blane reached into his pocket, taking out a small key and fiddling with a small drawer beneath the table, pulling out several scrolled up documents and laying them out for the others to sea.

The scrolled documents turned out to be charts, maps, satellite and other reconnaissance photos all documenting activities of East Congaree shipping through the southern Atlantic.

"Gentlemen, a state of war exists, unknown to our enemy. East Congaree by its support for the forces of the Grand World Order, and its rejection of terms from our allies the Allaneans has prompted the Council to approve operation kettle.

We will take up stations all along the eastern seaboard of the East Congaree territory and target their supply ships bound for their forces going to fight in Grestonian Africa where the majority if not all of their fleet is currently headed.

We are to be the first strike in a much larger campaign, and as of now we are only targeting East Congaree shipping, positive identification will be required before any engagement. We are not to engage enemy fleet vessels directly unless a target of opportunity presents itself.

Wolf Packs Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 will take up station to prepare for their cruise missile strikes on East Congaree infrastructure at 0245.

If there are no questions you are dismissed to your respective battle groups happy hunting."

The men paused to briefly continue looking over the charts and maps laid out in front of them before standing issuing the proper salute and departing for their own vessels where copies of the information awaited them.

Within twelve hours thirty seven Unkerlantian attack submarines and twelve ballistic missile subs would begin patrolling the East Congaree waterways, sinking any and all merchant vessels that came into their path and preparing to strike the first blows against the confederate states.

Meanwhile at Volkstein Naval Yard, North Unkerlantum

The naval base was uncharacteristically busy for so early in the morning as men and equipment poured through the base and were hurriedly rushed onto the awaiting transport ships. Along with hundreds of thousands of tons of ammunition, food, parts, and other equipment necessary to sustain a fighting force.

Many men did not know where they were going, why, or if or when they would be coming home. Regardless the majority quickly set their mind on the upcoming task at hand as it was clear conflict, suffering, and possibly death awaited them.

And thus in the early morning hours the ships slipped away into the darkness bound for an unknown land.

Missile Launch in 3....2.....1...

The launch observation tower shook violently as the back blast from six a S3 ASAT missiles rocket off towards East Congaree communication and surveillance satellites whose orbits and had been monitored for weeks prior to the start of operations. The intent was to cripple, confuse, and overall disorient the East Congaree homeland forces as much as possible, since large portions of the East Congaree navy and military were already deployed elsewhere.

Tartan Palace, King Wallace's spring home

Wallace sat peacefully in his office chair, smoking from his favorite pipe, a family heirloom passed down from his great great grandfather following the war with Zukarria for independence. His mood was a calm and happy one, it was to be a lovely spring day and perhaps he would enjoy time at the lake with his wife and children.

Hardly the thoughts one would think a monarch would have as his soldiers marched to war.

This was not to say that Wallace did not care for his men, he did but for now he was set on focusing on his family as he was certain the days ahead would take him from them.

Wallace was certain some of the nobles would protest, and call his suprise attack ungentlemanly, he chuckled to himself briefly

"I suppose that is why I am King and they are not."

Wallace thought to himself.

Taking a few more puffs of his pipe before dousing it and placing it back in its near sacred holding box, making his way back to bed...his last thoughts as he drifted back to sleep

"Dark days...Dark days indeed."

OOC: Technically, East Congaree delivered on most of the terms - I got a piece of land, a lot of money, and he abolished slavery. The only term he hasn't delivered on yet is quitting IFA. Just FWIW.
