This is just an idea, and if it proves to be popular I’ll get a thread up. If not then I’ll forget about it. Basically I want to hold a huge get-together of international leaders in Parilisa, but I thought it would be good to have something less formal than a big political conference. I thought about a ball, which would give people the chance to discus politics or whatever in a relaxed setting, and it would also help people to get to know each other a little better. This is a good opportunity for all players to make allies or partners, especially useful for newer players.

So, if you’re interested, or you have any suggestions just let me know. For introducing characters to the ball just give me some details; a picture, a title, an age, a little biography, political views etc. etc. Here’s my national leader as an example:

Name: President Nathaniel Klein
Age: 30
Political views: As leader of the SDLP he holds libertarian values in relation to political and civil rights. He advocates a Social Democratic approach to the economy and industry.
Biography: Nathaniel Klein is the current President of Parilisa. He was a key figure in the Parilisan Revolution of 2004 and served as a soldier and PSYOPS organizer for the Parilisan Revolutionary Army. Klein's Government has concentrated on maintaining civil and political rights more than anything else, and has introduced several ground-breaking Educational programmes to encourage open-mindedness within the young. His party, the Social Democratic Liberal Party (SDLP) was founded in 2005.

Name: Isabella Cullen
Age: 29
Political Views: As the leader of the National Unity Party of Foreland, Isabella Cullen has often been referred to as an ardent nationalist with support for political and civil liberties, economic rights, and diplomacy with foreign nations.
Biography: Isabella Cullen is the current head of state and government in the Free People's Republic of Foreland. She joined the National Unity Party of Foreland after hearing about their beliefs in college and soon rose through the ranks to become its leader - eventually leading them to victory in her first election. She is known simply as Bella to her friends.

Name: Leah Miller
Age: 27
Political Views: Fully agrees with the policies of the National Unity Party of Foreland.
Biography: Leah Miller is the current Foreign Minister of the Free People's Republic of Foreland, having been one of the various politicians appointed by Isabella to be a member of her cabinet. Leah is a hard working and devoted official who is expected to serve Foreland for a pretty long time....possibly depending on how long her party stays in control.

Name: Violet Greenwood
Age: 24
Political Views: Generally deemed to believe simply in civil and political freedoms and free enterprise. (OOC: I ought to develop this aspect of her more, I believe)
Biography: Violet Greenwood worked as the secretary to Isabella Cullen after her victory in the election but is primarily known for her dealings with the President of Foreland which some suspect may be a romance between them, although Miss Greenwood has not yet commented on the possibility that there is a romantic relationship between her and Nathaniel.

Name: Haruhisa Shinkai
Age: 25
Political Views: Haruhisa is a moderate Conservative who gives special care to civil liberties and rights of people but keeping a society of law and order. She believes in a strong but modest defense force and is a supporter of Free Enterprise but doesn't believe in Laissez-faire. She thinks Business and Government need to work along side to make proper regulations so both will benefit from them.
Biography: Haruhisa Shinkai is the newly elected Grand Chancellor the Occupied Ryou Black Islands. She is the first democratically elected Chancellor in over two centuries.
She's looking to renew and patch the long strained relationship between TRBI and the world.

Prime Minister Mickey Chang is 72 years old and doesn't like to leave the island. If possible, he would like to send his youngest daughter to represent him and the people of Fatatatutti.

Name: Harmony Chang
Age: 36
Political Views: A member of the Communist Party of Fatatatutti (CPF) since the age of nine and president of the youth wing from the age of 13 to 29, she believes in the principle of "from each according to his ability, to each according to his need".
Biography: She dropped out of high school at 16 to become a professional juggler and clown. She has been one of her father's closest advisors for many years, during six of his eight terms of office. She is reputed to have rewritten the national health legislation almost single-handedly and she was instrumental in the campaign to adopt the Internationale as Fatatatutti's second national anthem. She also works with her brother, gay-rights activist Shoshone Chang.

Name: Prime Minister Edward Caithana

Age: 34

Political views: Liberal Conservative. Believes in some government presence in the economy, but very small. He has supported universal healthcare, but has put more emphasis into modernizing the military and improving the economy. Caithana was one of the loudest supporters of Telvira's decision to open itself to the outside world.

Biography: Edward Caithana was a key member of the late King Markos VII's government, serving as an adviser and spokesperson. When King Cyrus II ascended the throne, he appointed Caithana Prime Minister due to his experience and connections.

Age: 31
Political Views: Conservative and Compassionate. Believes in the creed of caring for those in need and doing good dreads. She's an Ang Philippines Orthodox Catholic and doesn't believe in total separation of Church and State.
Biography: Anaru is the daughter of Countess Shu Maru, and General Ak Maru. She was born in the northern province and was sent to the capital to study Law. She met then First Crowned Prince Tuan Yamashita and soon agreed to a date. After a while they quickly fell in love, she agreed to marry Tuan and was made the First Crowned Princess. When Tunan became King she became Queen. (or Minstrel in A.P.)

Name: Prince Frederick III

Age: 29

Political views: Socially moderate, but considered quite conservative by Andermarkian standards. Believes in large government, and hopes to restore the Principality to its former status as an empire by gaining new territories and reconquering former provinces and colonies.

Biography: Born the son of Prince Gustav IV, he eschewed his royal upbringing to pursue a career in the Freikorps, an austere, highly nationalistic shock trooper formation. He recently ascended the Iron Throne by executing his father, who he viewed as too weak to lead the nation and partly responsible for its fall from power.

Name: Grand Duke Alexander Vasilovic Kavinkov II
Age: 41
Political Views: Hardline Fascist and major supporter of Militarism. He believes in government control over all affairs in the nation and his support for the military is second to none. Kavinkov has been widely accredited for fully bringing in Volzgrad's current Monarchical Military Junta.
Biography: Born the son of the famous Vasili Kavinkov, former President and later Grand Duke of Volzgrad, Alexander has always strived to gain the popularity of his legendary father. Unlike his father, who was a Social Conservative, Alexander is a hardline supporter of Royalist Fascism. Alexander quickly gained national fame for his stellar command of the legendary Blacktopian campaign and the rebellion crushing that ensued. Kavinkov is widely praised for his first military doctrine book Fire and Steel: A Review and Guide to Modern Siege Warfare , which was promptly made the standard tactical guide for all Volzgradien Imperial Army officers. In more recent years, Alexander Kavinkov II has been praised for his successful plans of economic recovery and his massive boosts to Volzgradien Industry.

Name: HM Prince Johannes de Vaar
Age: 50
Political views: The Monarch of Vaarshire is officially independent and non-partisan. However, before being elected Prince he was a member of the Centrist Party, thus making him the first monarch not from the Leftist Party. He was elected after the assassination of Princess Anne but removed from power a week later by a Communist revolt. A covert Vaar military operation overthrew the overthrowers six months later and Prince Johannes re-assumed power. He has since been increasing military spending and while he believes in a strong government- especially a stronger monarchy- he seems to be sliding to the right of things.
Biography: Born Jan Gansevoort, he was elected to the Vaar Parliament in 1990. He was Minister of National Defense in 2008 when Princess Anne de Vaar was assassinated, and then elected as Prince in the follwing Royal Election. He is very patriotic and dedicated to making Vaarshire a stable, progressive, powerful nation.

Name: King William V
Age: 61
Political Views: None. He is disinterested in politics. Although he may occasionally express an opinion one way or the other, he has no coherent political views.
Biography: William V is the Dominion’s first monarch to be born after the Years of Strife, and consequently the memories of that time do not have a firm grip on his consciousness. He was crowned in 1991 and his reign has hitherto been marked by both instability and great economic growth. He is arguably the most powerful monarch to have ever reigned over the Dominion, but this is largely due to the shrewd ways of his two strong predecessors and less to his own merits as a ruler. For this event he will be accompanied by Lord Rodderwick, his Lord Chancellor, as well as some other people he chooses to invite.

Name: 1st Wolf's Marshall Cain
Age: 47
Political views: The military commander of The Wolf Hold, he has executive power in all things to do with The Wolf Hold. Belives quite heavily in peace through superior firepower and the ends justify the means. It is quite obvious that considering he come from a military led nation he is a strong belives that if you don't have a up to date military, you need a history lesson.
Biography: Born in the then small fishing village of Port Palla, then known as Palla Rock. He grew slowly disatsified with the democratic oppresive goverment which had already survived five bloody civil wars which had reduced the population to a mere 5 million. Taking up arms and he joined the re-grouping reistnace and through is oratry skills charisma and skill at arms he soon became the leader of the revolution and finnaly managed to free The Wolf Hold in a sixth civil war. After that he has led the Wolf Hold through some tought times but he and the nation are stronger after each one.

Name: President Nathaniel Zanzibar
Age: 34
Race: Sutfien
Description: Supposedly a true "Working Man's" president, he infact was working in mining after he graduated from his Alumni university. Standing nearly Seven feet tall, muscles like braided steel criss crossed his ash-grey furr'd form. While not an exhibitionist in any way, he often does his work and walks in public (Like most Sutfien) shirtless. His back is accented by dark grey and black makings running from his shoulders to his backbone and curving downwards. Well defined muscles and his imposing form could infact be attributed to an almost "Werewolf" like design, despite infact being completely sutfien and having no polymorphic abilities at all. No, he was completely mundane in every way. Loose fitting pants accent his digit-grade legs and leather covers go over his hocks to protect them. Soft blue eyes and black hair accent his wolfen face.
Political views: Republican, Conservative, a complete turn around for his nation he feels that by being a nation it is Sutufinai's duty to assist and work with other nations of the world. With this in mind he has fore fronted a Military Buildup to ensure the safety of his nation which prior to his election was an Isolationist country which barely rated a sidebar at even the most greatest events. He supports a small government, and supports the people's ability to make correct choices.
Biography: The first truely un-isolationist president of Sutufinai, he was born in a small mining town with next to nothing to his family's name. His father nearly sold his soul to the company to secure his son an education and soon after his son's graduation he died during a mining accident. His son was sent off to a University to get a law and political degree. But lack of funds and a well bred background caused him to fall out of his high-life soon after he graduated from the university. Falling back to the mines he began working off his father's debts in the mines, working his thin, lanky form into something he could be proud of. By a complete fluke he was found by the Mining Corporation's executives when they interviewed him as a mining boss and saw a strong opportunity to sell their coal and minerals to outside countries. So they helped him run for President. He succeeded and was put in the office of the Presidency. Soon after he began the opening of the Isolationist country to the world.

Name: Generalissimo Steven Phillip Grimmeberger
Age: 61
Political views: Pragmatic (whatever suits the country best), nationalist, authoritarian. Likes compromise in many ways because it is cheaper, easier, and expedient.
Condensed Biography (for full bio, see my factbook): Born in Nashville, Carolina Province of the FFNAT on March 21st, 1955. He joined the Federal Army as a Captain at the age of 22, and quickly rose through the ranks during the Federation's Wars of Defense, ending the war as a Maj.General. He joined a sector of the military leadership dissatisfied with the corrupt, decadent, and elitist government, and helped lead the coup that toppled the old regime. Initially, the communist Roger Smith installed/conceded the post of Generalissimo to Grimmeberger, in the hopes of using him as a puppet, but Grimmeberger proved to have a mind of his own, and consolidated his power, outlawed communism, and proceeded to fight a war with Smith and his communist insurgents, eventually capturing and executing Smith. As unchallenged dictator (since then) he has presided over a very stable nation (though with occasional outbursts by Red forces) and almost continuous economic growth. He built the Federation practically from the ground up, from a decaying, corrupt, small, and weak nation under the Patricianate to the world power it has become today.

Grimmeberger physically is: 5'7", 180 lbs, somewhat stocky, has grey hair (full head), a full, short(close-cropped) beard (also gray), and with heavy scarring on his left hand. He walks with a very slight limp, and speaks with a trace Tennessee accent. He is physically still quite powerful, though is weakening in his age, and keeps a sharp mind. Brutally practical, and with a dry, sarcastic sense of humor. He has a deep-seated distrust of any particularly strong faction (labor, big business, the press, political parties, etc) with the notable exception of the military. He generally wears the khaki/tan military uniform of the Federal Armed Forces, of which he is Commander-in-Chief. When frustrated (or sometimes even in a good mood) he is somewhat of an asshole. He is unmarried (he jokes that he is married to the nation).

For this trip, he will be accompanied by General Vitomir Lončar, Governor-General of Illyricum et Dalmatia, Col.General Markus von Bayern (a rising star of the FAF) and Chief James Derkins, chief of the Federation's State Special Police.

Name: King Charles V (in spanish: Carlos Alfonso Eduardo Serrano Flórez)
Age: 49
Political Views: He is a fervent conservative monarch. He thinks the valladar monarchy must resist the liberal ideas and the misrepresentation of the good customs, therefore, he supports the Conservative Party. He is an authoritarian king.
Biography: He was born on July 13, 1959. The valladar nobility educated and separated him of his parents, the King Charles IV and the Queen Josephine I. Charles IV died in 1993 and Charles V was crowned on May 3, 1994. He is a consecrated and successful columnist in Valladares and in 1998 he published the book "Crown memories: A Kingdom, four languages and two enemies" in which he narrates the history of the nation. He is a militarist and in recent years he has wanted to begin an expansion of the country. He married with Diane of Panama and their children are: Maurice (the heir, born in 1994), Alexander (born in 1997) and Laura (born in 2001)

Name: President Akitaro Daichi

Age: 34

Political views: As leader of Eri, he maintains his strong values stance in community strength and a traditional nation. He's a conservative Christian but is careful not to eclipse civil rights of non-Christians.

Biography: As a former farmer and preacher Akitaro always was active in his community. When the city council threatened cyphon off a needed creek near his farm, he opposed incumbent Chairman Ito and won the election. He soon chose to run for President and is the current sitting president.

Biography: As Akitaro's only daughter she tends to be the center of his attention most of the time. As she's coming into teenage years as the daughter of President, she'll have some stories to tell. She's a friendly and easy person to get along with.

Name: Patrick Anderson

Age: 55

Political Views: Very much conservative, even more than the President himself. He's a slightly more aggressive foreign policy maker.

Biography: Patrick's grandparents immigrated to Eeri long before hew as born to take advantage of the rich soil. When he was 30 he married a long time sweetheart Yuriko Kawasaki-Anderson. He is the first Caucasian Vice President.

Age: 62

Political views: Ran and was elected on the Salzland Republican Party ticket. Believes in a central government focused primarily on defense and foreign relations, with regional and municipal governments (along with the private sector) providing the remaining services. Strongly believes in free trade.

Biography: A graduate of the Rostgard Naval Academy at age 21, Phillips served with distinction in the Fleet until he voluntarily retired at age 40 to take over the family import-export business. From here, he first encountered the world of politics, which fascinated Phillips and led him to run for and be elected to the Salzland House of Representatives. From here he moved on to the Council, before running for and being elected President.

Biography: Jonathan Roosevelt was born 40 years ago on the country side of The Grand Duchy of Noordeinde, afther he graduated from Highschool he studied law and also graduated from University. The Prime Minister started his career in politics as a Democrat in his local City Councel, and he worked his way up, he became, a member of the House of Representatives and later on he became Senator Jonathan Roosevelt was and still is verry populair with the people of The Grand Duchy of Noordeinde, he'd runned with the Democratic party as party leader in the elections and won and became Prime Minister. The Prime Minister has been a part-time actor as well.

I'm no expert but I'd call it godmodding to land a squadron of fighter-bombers at a major airport without ever having been challenged. Fatatatutti is pretty pacifistic but you'd never get near us like that. And even if your leader did get his feet on Fatatatutian soil with a stunt like that, we'd strip him naked and throw him in the cargo hold of the first plane going anywhere, diplomacy be damned.

So would I, if anyone tried to do that in The Wolf Hold, I would shove several SAMs up the planes arse, so thats why I asked Parilisa if it was alright and he said yes, if he had said no, I would just of deleted the post and arrived normally.

I am not saying what i did wasn't slightly god modding but If Parilisa asks me to stop then I will. Simple as that, no one has died and no one will die, depending on Parilisa, my men will proably be detained and the Marshall (hopefully) given a sharp talking to and sent on his way.

Whether or not anybody got blown up is irrelevant. What you should have done is show up in Parilisan airspace and wait to be challenged. And Parilisa should have called you on it right away. Thread originator or not, it's unfair to the other posters to change the direction of the thread in midstream with no warning.

It's possible to be subtle in announcing a change of direction, you know.

In a recent thread, I accidentally let a foreign agent through customs with a pistol in his luggage. It took a laser pointer disguised as a sniper, a retired paratrooper and the man from U.N.C.L.E. to get him out of the country without hurting him.

Now that is subtle, I would have just had military police lock down the area and we would of found him eventually:)

I'm fine with the Wolf Hold saga. I'll deal with it realisticly and authoritively.

Political views: The current elected Chancellor of Hydrosteria, he, like many of Hydrosteria's population, hold Objectivist values believing in pure laissez-faire capitalism as a key to advancement whils asserting the individuals absolute right to self determination. He does hweove recognise the inequality caused by this and so utilises his administrations powers and funds to improve the infrastructure for the less successful in his nation.
