The Rogue Nation of Sutufenai
Government Type: Representative Republic
NS Government Type: Conservative Democracy
Government Leader: Nathaniel Zanzibar
Legislature: Bicameral.
Currency: "Silver Claw" -- A pair of crossed claws surrounding a Coat of Arms is on one side of this silver coin, a single large diamond with an imprinted "1" is on the other. While the country mainly uses coins for 1 Claw and 5 Claw Increments, 10 Claws and up are represented by Paper Bills.
People:
The people of Sutufinai are referred to as the "Sutfien" (Soot-Feen (as in Fiend)). They are a Bipedal species of what can best be described as "Canines", they are roughly 6 to 7 feet in height but average 6 feet 6 Inches. Their form overall is Humanoid thought they possess both the tail and head of a canine. Their legs are best described as "Digit-grade", IE they walk on their toes like most canines.
They are a hardworking populous, but their country lacks many natural resources needed to grow. Oil being a major point of distress. Metals such as Silver, Iron, and Aluminium are abundant here, however metals like titanium, copper, and Gold are lacking as well.
Infrastructure in the country is lacking aswell, Most "paved" roads are situated around the three "Major" cities (Comparable to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Detroit in the United States.) where most of the manufacturing and industry is. Smaller mining cities are connected by well made dirt or cobble-stone roads, but as a whole dirt roads connect most towns and cities.
Because oil is lacking within the country, and it's rather Isolationalist idealism holds them back from opening up to other countries until recent, vehicles are few and far bettween. Animal Husbandry skills are a must for any Sutfien citizen as "Greater Hounds" are their substitute for Horses and other Equine substitutes. These greater hounds are just slightly larger than horses and can be saddled in quite the same way. They are often hitched like someone would expected a sled-dog to be hitched. Wagons and such do have rubber, inflated, tires for their metal wheels as well as suspension.
Military:
While the Government Controls the military, the majority of the forces in Sutufinai are Irregulars. Militias, minutemen, Rangers, and the like. Police forces are regularly outfitted with bullet proof vests and other infantry equipment. While police forces and well funded Militias, as well as the Military, are outfitted with automatic weapons the majority of the "Irregular" forces are armed semiautomatic or bolt action rifles. These Semiautomatic or Bolt Action rifles are normally weapons used for hunting and that the irregulars are well trained with in both civilian and military life.
While the actual Government military has motorized vehicles and on the majority well made vehicles, Irregular military forces generally use combat bred Greater Hounds for their military uses. These Greater Hounds, dubbed "Greater War Hounds", are used for anything from Towing artillery caissons to mounted Skirmishers. These Hounds have custom made body armor to counter bullets or shrapnel, but have the same problems their mounted infantry have of being a living, breathing, being.
Geography:
The Geography of the country is relatively unassuming, sandwiched between two mountain ranges which offer the majority of their mining opportunities, it is mainly a fertile valley that catches a lot of rainfall from it's Narrow Eastern Seaboard. The valley as a whole is a massive rain-forest, changing to temperate and then alpine forests as you go higher towards either mountain range, until you begin to hit the plains land once the mountain ranges begin widening on their western end. These plains, hanging out at the very western end of the country, are not true plains. They are rather hilly and have groves of trees dotting the land. This is the section of Sutufinai where the majority of the agriculture happens, fed by the western rains of the rain-forest by a complex river system it is rather well watered and very easy to grow food. The rivers that criss-cross the plains have often been harnessed as easy water transport be it by animal powered canal or steamboats on the deeper rivers.
One main river is unique that it has two end points, one heading west and one heading east. roughly halfway down the valley where the storms and rain reaches it's height of rainfall water will flow either eastward towards the ocean or westward towards the plains.
The three cities of the country are situated in rather cut and dry locations, one is on the eastern seaboard acting as the only port in the country while another is huddled up against the northern mountain range in the temperate non-rain-forested area. Whereas the Third city is placed at the main "Delta" of the westward river onto the plains. As expected each of these cities excel in some way or another, the Oceanside city is more of a fishing city and a city that derives it's income to the sea. While the city against the mountains is a rather industrialized city, acting as the industrial hub feeding off the coal and metals being mined and at the same time refining and manufacturing items such as steel. The Third city is a trade city, flourishing by taking in goods from the plains and transporting them down and up river to places like the first and second cities.
The main valley is covered in a thick, dense, layer of cloud cover that makes airborne flight a rather impossibility. The thick rain-forest causes even dirt roads to be few and far between and the few automobiles in the country makes paving massive road systems relatively ineffective. Though a short railway has been opened between Cities one and two it has not really flourished it's self. The main routes of travel are either by foot, Hound-back, or more popularly, the river system.
--------OOC--------
I hope I gave enough information about my country, on the flipside I hope I didn't sound extremely long, boring and droll. I'm sorry if I caused some type of mental pain. :$
So overall, Hello. I've played Nationstates before but I have never engaged in NS Roleplay. I'm a seasoned roleplayer of roughly ten years in forum and Messenger roleplay and have been Military roleplaying on the fleet level for three years now. This will be my first roleplay on a "National" level I have engaged in.
I Hope to have some fun, and nice to be here! =D
Oh and uhm... I guess we can say embassies go down there? *points at posts below his?*
