The Eldar are a race that had endured much in their time of existence. We endured the Fall, we endured the foolishness of the Mon-Keigh, the brutality of the Krork, and the depredations of Chaos. But never before have I encountered a being like Remiel de Drakan. Never before have I met a mortal so blessed by the Dark Gods, and able to attain so much power. Never before have I met a man who dared to become a God....and come so close to succeeding.- Farseer Taldeer, prior to the War of Ascension

The Eldar had found this galaxy to be much different, in the aftermath of their meeting with Ranisath and his C'tan. The Eldar seemed to have all vanished, making the current leader of the miniature Eldar Empire the only one left, although two other groups remained but they were only known by rumors and she did not trust the word of the C'tan. She, of course, being Taldeer of Craftworld Ulthwe. She possessed great power and was a skilled commander in battle, not to mention her fighting skills. She had many victories under her belt, especially on Lorn V and Kronus, where she sought to defeat the Necrons and prevent their return. Her many dreams and visions had given her the title of Taldeer the Dreamer. The Eldar walked on a thin line in this galaxy. Taldeer knew this fact very well, especially in the aftermath of her short confrontation with the C'tan. The Krork were everywhere, the Necrons out in force, the Imperium fallen, the Tyranids rampaging, and Chaos growing by the day. This she knew but they was much that she did not know. She knew of Remiel and of the Chronosian Imperium and had intended to deal with them. But she had no idea of the plots Remiel was currently enacting and of how close he was to his ultimate goal. His plans were stopped now and again by the efforts of his enemies but he was in control of everything he needed to succeed and he could allow them their victories. However, Fate, the capricious being she is, decided to intervene by sending a vision to Taldeer and bringing the Eldar into the fray.

With all the problems of the galaxy going on, Taldeer knew she had to consult her visions to see what the future held for her people. Her visions came either unannounced while she moved about her duties or they came while she meditated. So here she was now, walking amongst the paths of the future when Fate struck. The pathways crumbled and a blinding flash forced Taldeer to close her eyes. She felt herself her land on something and the air become oppressively hot. She opened her eyes to see a blasted and corrupted landscape. Her eyes widened as she turned to the skies, and saw them filled with reddish-black clouds, with a furious lightning storm in progress. She could feel the whispers of Chaos around her and she knew she was on a Daemon World. Several explosions sounded around her, forcing her to shield her eyes until they ended and she looked up to see a shocking sight. She saw a War Host of Eldar, Ulthwe Eldar specifically, racing forward towards some foe. With them were human warriors wielding armor and weapons not known to Taldeer. With them were strange robed figures, led by a human with markings on his face, feline eyes and a strange reddish-orange aura. A dark power radiated from him, but his face belied an intense kindness and determination. They wielded weapons of light and cried out words she did not understand and strange attacks swept forth.

Opposite them came their foes, enemies who Taldeer expected. The Chaos Space Marines of various types depending on the Gods they worshiped. The red and gold armored warriors of Khorne, crying out for battle and wielding their chainaxes to see out the bodies of their enemies, the plague-bearing Marines of Nurgle whose infested weapons sought to spread the blessings of Nurgle to their foes, and they stood side by side with the vibrant Marines of Slaanesh who sought to bring pain and pleasure to their foes in the name of their God, and the followers of Tzeentch, powerful psykers and filled with horrible mutations. At their sides were the thousands strong corrupted Imperial Guard, brandishing blood, skulls, and other corrupted symbols as they rushed into battle with their tanks and soldiers. The battle rang out fiercely, as battlecries were joined with the cries of the dying and injured. Great Titans, Eldar and Chronosian battled as armies clashed under their feet, their weapons laying waste to everything about them. Taldeer then felt the ground shake and she saw the Avatar of Khaine, roaring in all its glory moving forward to battle the Bloodthirster opposite it. Both wielding great weapons and fought with great fury. Countless soldiers were wiped out as they struggled. The battle reached its height, as both sides committed themselves. Psychic lightning crashed down, brought by Eldar warlocks and Chaos sorcerors, and explosions covered the landscape.

A burst of light appeared again and she found herself in a great temple. Signs of the Gods and of Chaos covered the banners and the room was filled with whispers. Cultists were kneeling around a great altar that was glowing with the power of the Warp. Great runes covered it, and blood ran like wine around it. She heard yelling and turned to see two figures battling each other. The sound of energy clashing against energy could be heard and both attacked, countered, defended, and then broke off, taking a break to measure their opponent. On one side stood the man she knew led the Chronosian Imperium, Remiel de Drakan. Covered in the most terrifying set of armor ever seen and literally radiating the power of the Chaos Gods, he held two swords whose names of Lifesbane and Worldsender were told to her by the whispers in the room. She also saw a faint outline of a figure standing behind him, covered in great armor, wielding a mighty sword and looking down, almost as if asleep. Opposite him was a robed figure, wielding another sword of light, and lightning coursed about him. A strange power could be felt from him and she knew he was one with a great destiny. A name was whispered into her ear:

Masaki.

Both suddenly paused and turned to look as steps could be heard. Taldeer was shocked to see herself step out from the shadows, wielding a great sword of incredible power. She could feel its psychic call almost overwhelming her as her vision self passed by her and stepped onto the floor where the two combatants were. Remiel smiled and turned to face her. Taldeer merely jumped at him, bringing down her blade. As both clashed, a burst of white light blinded Taldeer again as she felt herself falling again. A vision of a blue planet with a red sky filled her mind, with the same psychic call as that of the weapon. Suddenly her eyes burst open, as she sat there panting, covered in sweat. The vision was over. Taldeer managed to get to her feet, as she struggled to get her breath back. She was not sure where that battle would be fought, who they were fighting beside, or where that planet was. But she knew that in the future, her Eldar would be involved in a great battle against Chaos and she had to be ready. She pushed the black hair out of her face and turned to begin putting on her armor when the door opened and a Guardian ran in, a sense of panic about him. Taldeer turned to face him.

"Farseer! Trouble! An Exodite World is under heavy attack by Chaos! We have identified them as Imperium forces! What are your orders?"

Taldeer reached over and grabbed her armor and began to put it on. "Inform the city that a War Host is to be prepared and all preparations made for a major battle. I have seen the future, and we must be prepared for the storm that is coming. Have the previous attack forces that have been sent to attack the C'tan and the Mon-Keigh make ready by the webway gates, and a sufficient force of vehicles. And tell Velarion to head there with his fleet. We need to move quickly if we are to save the Exodites." The Guardian nodded and ran out the door, going to prepare her forces. Taldeer, finished getting her armor together, put on her helmet and reached for her Singing Spear. They had work to do.

So as the Eldar began to go into the Webway and head to the Exodite World under attack, Taldeer began to set her forces onto the path Remiel was traveling, blocking his plans and bringing two great forces, the Eldar and Chaos, back into conflict once again. Everyone but Remiel, however, had no idea of the parts they would play or how great of a war this would be....or how close they all came to, once and for all, falling to the powers of Chaos.
