The Ryou Black Islands

(yeah my last few posts have been less than perfect, due to stress, fatigue and time crunch heh so I'm going to be more careful)
Shai-New Grand Chancellor Haruhisa Shoku was now preparing to address the world. She was the first leader since the demise of Isabella and the Old Ryou Monarchy. Now as the newly democratically elected Chancellor Leader of the Ryou Republican Party was ready to set things right. Though still under Kanami occupation TRBI still had autonomy do begin diplomatic relationships under their watchful eyes.

"Citizens of the world, I'm Haruhisa Shoku and I am the new Democratically elected leader of the Ryou Black Islands. I'm the first Democratically elected Chancellor in a very long time of this country. As the new leader I've had to make a promise to my people and to the people of the world and of our host nation, to restore Ryou to it's former glory, a nation of peace, and prosperity. During the times of the Empire, we got our selves into hot water more than once, and too many times we leaned on our allies to pull us out.
The Ryou has spent a long time with imperial and fascistic ideas. For me to say such things, me the daughter of a Ryou General that was killed in one of the many pointless wars we fought. I still hold a grain of respect for our former Empress, but I will not condone the actions she took as our Empress. The Ryous lost your trust, and rightly so.
More than a year ago, I could have been tried and killed for treason, for saying these things, but now I'm Grand Chancellor, we have a new constitution, we have new rights protecting people to speak their minds. As Chancellor, I want to renew our relationship with the rest of the world. I want to meet world leaders as a friend and honored guest instead of an enemy. I want my daughters to grow up with out the threat of a damaging war, or death.
My plans are to open a line of new embassies, begin diplomacy. I want Ryou to be a destination for tourists. I want our rich and diverse culture to be seen as a nation of people that appreciate each other and life, instead of death and war.
