Farui 24 is the government-owned, semi-independent national news agency of the Republic of Farui. Founded in 1990, after Farui was founded, Farui 24 has established itself as the City State's main news agency, available on television, the internet, the radio and on mobile telephones.

Current Affairs & Issues.
Politics.

The current government is headed by Doctor Saleh Massoud, who was elected the 3rd President of Farui in 2005 by a landslide victory following public opinion turning against the then-ruling Democratic Socialist Party, following the attempted downsizing of the military. Under Massoud, the military's size has been slightly increased, and the state's economy has also boomed thanks to trade agreements with other countries and many other developments.

The next elections are due to take place at the beginning of 2010.

Military.

The Armed Forces have increased in size recently, under the Massoud Administration. The Defence Minister, Ibrahim Faryead, has pioneered the modernisation of the military, with new equipment such as AK-74s, F-16s and La Fayette-class frigates has seen the military become what Faryead described as 'a great defender for Farui'.

Economy.

The economy of the country has been subject to a boom in recent years, with manufacturing leading the way in the boom. Also assisting the economy is tourism, thanks to the boom meaning many new building developments creating many awe-inspiring buildings. Sport has been subject to investment as well, leading to the CIB League becoming a great, multi-million football/soccer league and the Gazelle Rugby League becoming a great spectacle of rugby.

Culture.

Following the 1990 Declaration of Independence from the UK, the rich culture of Farui has become very popular. Traditional food, such as the Halah, which consists of halal meats and spices inside a fajita wrap, has become very popular. Sport, such as the aforementioned CIB and Gazelle Leagues, have also become a great spectacle of sport, and are very popular in the nation. Arabic music has also become popular as well, with traditional and the new 'Technonative' style, a mixture of traditional Arabic music with 'ultra energy' music, has established itself as a popularity among the people of the nation.
