Description

The Fifth Realm is the remnants of the New Realm, conquered by the Sovereign's forces. By-and-large, the inhabitants are the former citizens of the destroyed Four Realms, many of whom were born before, during, or just after the Chronosian War over two thousand years ago. Others date back to the GFFA-ESUS war, and most are veterans of one war or another.

A single glittering station in the shape of a spire holds the entire population of the Fifth Realm, and around it, the resources of over two hundred systems are consumed in order to produce the fleets and armies of the Fifth Realm.

Military

The battleplate-superfortress system has largely broken down, with the former system of ultrapowerful ships no longer being solely used. While over half the fleet's firepower comes from the supercapital ships, a large amount does not. Four battleplates and six superfortresses make up the supercapital portion of the fleet, equating in power to approximately nine thousand average capital ships.

Approximately two thousand five hundred other capital ships make up the remainder of the fleet. Five hundred of these are cruiser-types or above (with a hundred of these being battleships, battlecruisers, or dreadnoughts), seven hundred are destroyers, and one thousand three hundred are frigates.

By-and-large, there are between one and five crew per craft, and approximately 1 per two frigates. A little under two thousand crewmen serve in the navy.

The army is a singular unit known as the Last Guard, and comprise one thousand men precisely. Equipped with weaponry far beyond the usage of most navies, let alone other landborne armies, the Last Guard is used for the emergency pacification of planets, the taking of sovereign-related artifacts for the Fifth Realm, and the occasional actual battle.
