Ambition of the Empire: Capturing the Rising Sun

(This is MT/early PMT. Ask me in a telegram if you would like to join. Japan will be played by Fictions)

South Korea

Governor Louis Richwald of the Korean Colonies nodded giving the signal for the order to begin the invasion. The Earth, or more precisely the concrete began to move and leafless metal trees began to raise from the grounds. Their cold grey shining against the just rising sun. They continued to grow with several supports beginning to spring to hold up the towering metal. Just as they reached their maximum height they began to lean towards the east aiming at the sun. The Earth shook with all her might as second after second fire leaped out of the barrels of the long rods that looked as if had grown from her core. The super guns began to throw hot metal from its innards almost 130 miles away at Fukuoka, a part of the Empire of Japan.

As the guns screamed, spitting out deadly projectiles, hundreds of ships took off from the shores of Busan and headed to the Japanese coast. Overwhelming numbers of jets took off from the airfields and filled the skies as they roared past the artillery and ships and began to drop firebombs the coast. The slower growlers flew into the enemy airspace and began to jam everything. Behind them were the lumbering bombers and heavier aircraft which aimed to wipe the cities on the coast of Japan out.

Submarines in the area raised to the surface like whales as the sun glitted off their wet backs. From the submarines came close to 600 tomahawk missiles aiming to wipe out Japanese forts, coastal guns, hangars, and ports. All hell seemed to be oozing out of its cracks as thousands of tons of metal rushed to Western Japan.

Peel Island

From the barbed wire and reinforced concrete fortress's on the separation zone in the middle of the island hundreds of ralkovian APCs pushed through with such ferocity that it seemed the APCs were occupied by demons and not men, which was true since the APCs were full of Death Guard. Close to six hundred Piv-30's and seventy bradley linebackers rammed through obstacles with the help of 200 TD-7 self-propelled guns.

After the growlers passed over the enemy radar stations aiming to wipe out the signals forty Apache gunships took off and helped down the enemy tanks with the help of the seven A-10 Thunderbolt IIs. A two Vegas dreadnoughts, each with there two modified type-22 destroyers and four Havoc Missile gunboats let their 2 triple barreled 18 inch guns blow the rear forts and air fields to smithereens.

280 miles from Tokyo

Eight Ohio-class submarines lifted from their homes and onto the surface. Every hatch on the submarines opened and fired as 340 Tomahawks and 20 EMP missiles were launched at the Capital. Another 340 Tomahawks and 20 EMP missiles were launched for the other major cities along Japan's eastern coast. Once they emptied themselves of the missiles they took on water and aimed to escape the certain retaliatory strikes.

Pearl Harbor, Ralkovian Administrative Zone Of Hawaii

From Pearl harbor twelve Vegas dreadnoughts, six Emperor-Carriers, eight Nimitz carriers countless numbers of shadow harbors and manticore cruisers, and two unidentified vessels flowed out of the harbor and headed to the Eastern Coast of Japan. They would arrive almost a month after the beginning of the invasion but that was counted for and they carried with them a special weapon that might be necessary for the attack on Japan.

Barkanos, Ralkovia

The Empress had just finished signing the declaration of war as she was rushed onto a plane headed to Vietnam from there she would head to Mongolia and then to Korea. The long obtuse path would hopefully ensure her with safety through distance but if Japan did have units in the area the thirty interceptors would guarantee her protections and the landings were a simple formality two KC-135 Stratotanker flying about 60 miles back with their own escorts would have ensured that the Empress's Ashland Luxury Jet could have flown from ralkovia to Korea via the Atlantic.

From East and West thousands of ships and planes and millions of troops headed to crush Japan. Ralkovia had two simple goals in its attack. One was to assure public confidence in the government still being strong and two was to crush one of the lead members of the Asian Confederation which constantly prevented Ralkovian Expansion into the South Asian islands. Ralkovia would make Japan an example and use it as a new base. Ralkovia had slowly begun to surround China and Japan would be a neccessary piece to suffocate the trade.

Empress Maria's strategist had advised the death guard and the death guard had 'advised' Maria to sign the declaration. Now over 3 million troops headed to crush Japan.

(OOC: DISCLAIMER- I know little to nothing about Japan
And SO SORRY for the long wait and crappy post...)

Tokyo, Japan

To say that Tokyo was alive with activity would have been a great understatement, the city was positively teeming, the sounds of traffic filling the ears of anyone in vicinity, by night its streets will be illuminated by its bright neon signs but now in the daytime they were off. Life was going on as normal. People on their way back from work or school. Noone was expecting an attack of any sort... And then, it came.

The devastation brought on by the Ralkovians came swift and unexpected, the EMP pulses causing mass blackouts all across the cities, this would have been enough to bring the great urban sprawl to a halt and it did, panic spreading throughout the population and as the hysteria reached it's peak, the tomahawks arrived, over three hundred of them raining down on the city in a deadly storm that seemed to last forever.

No-one knew how long it had taken for the missiles to strike but when they were done the city was unrecognisable, the buildings that once stood proud and tall a testament to the world of Japan's technological prowess now lay in ruins. There were fires raging all across what was left of the cities and there was an eery silence, not even a siren. The attacks had been so unexpected that no-one could have reacted, so many had died, their bodies littered the streets and the remnant of buildings, those who has survived tried their best to douse the fires and help in any way they could but many were too badly injured to do much.

Tokyo was not the only effected city, every major city along the east coast was attacked in similar ways and the police and army and anyone who could be spared was begin sent in to rescue what survivors could be found. For reasons unknown Japan was under attack, and though they had been ill prepared and the damage devastating, they knew they would not go down without a fight.

"Target them at their hearts!"

"YES MY LORD"

It was an incredible display of power as 1000 Hell Missiles HM-2s launched from silos in North Korea. This aura of power pulled patriotic shouts from the Ralkovian vessels that had just been launched. These missiles would put the nation of Japan out of any hope of military response. These missiles carried with them heavy explosives that collapsed mountains now they were aimed at cities. The hell missile by itself was a most destructive cluster bomb but in this large of a pack they would destroy any city untouched by the strikes not to mention a strike at the Emperor's palace.

Ralkovian music began to play as the landing ships spilled their inhuman cargo into Japan. It was as if a tsunami of death guard had arrived in the city of Fukuoka. They swallowed everything as hundreds of thousands spread the blood of the Japanese into the red overflowing sewers of their city. It was sickening to see the death guard rip the Japanese from limb to limb.

Ralkovia had lost a massive amount of land to the militarily superior Japanese in the 1940's but now Ralkovia was back with a vengeance and it would crush Japan before annexing it. Japan wouldn't exist for much longer if military read-outs proved correct. The Japanese had been ready for an attack from the North near Russia but they hadn't been ready for a direct attack on their capital and now they were eating ralkovian lead.

Fukuoka, Japan

Sato Hikaru lay very still in the ruins of what, at one point, had been some sort of corner shop but which was now nothing more than half a shell of a building and many piles of rubble. The past few hours had gone bye like a dream, no, a nightmare, he and his small squad, some of whom were only civilian volunteers not real fighters at all, were one of the small resistance groups that were spread across the city although he knew that most were merely concentrated on trying to rescue as many people as they could from the devastated city.

Sato held his breath for a moment and closed his eyes as, possibly even on the next street the invaders passed. A few minutes and then, silence. They were safe for now.
Beside him a young man was shaking with fear he was only a volunteer who was fighting because he had seen his family killed and wanted revenge. There was nothing he could say, poor kid, this time a few days ago his biggest worry would have been passing exams and getting the latest whatever and now their lives were at stake and the country was at stake. They had not heard anything of other areas of the country but some dark part of him said that they would be suffering the same fate. He had seen what these invaders did to those who tried to fight them, barley suppressing a shudder as the memories filled his head. These were not human, these invaders, they were monsters, cold heartless monsters and his group was out numbered and out gunned.

He waved his hand to indicate to the others to follow him. First they would make their way to higher ground. There was the wreck of a department store but it still had many of its floors, picking their way towards that they were careful to stay low and make as little noise as possible darting into the doorway then proceeding slowly though the store. It was impossible not to think of how, not even so long ago, this place had been full of life and full of people, but now there was no life and the only people were them and the bodies of those who had not managed to escape when the terrible things started to happen. The whole building was deadly silent, the only movement was the dust that hung in the air, illuminated by the sunlight that spilled through the cracked windows and broken walls, casting strange shadows over the floor. The group tried desperately to ignore the bodies, they should not have been left like that but what could be done now? Reaching the top floor, no, not the top floor the top few floors had been too badly ruined essentially leaving the store with only four floors, a bad omen and the all felt uncomfortable, even Sato who had always thought of himself as a modern thinker who was not prone to superstitious ideas felt nervous here but there was nowhere else they could go. Remaining out of sight as best as they could they planned what they would do, they waited and planned.

Sato would hear the sounds of his people as a few of the death guard herded them into a building directly across from them. The death guard sounded weird as they brutalized the Japanese language with their shouting orders. Sato would see as children and young mothers were separated from the fathers some of who wore the Japanese flag as a bandana.

He would hear the death guard call out numbers and when they stopped counting at 500 they would release those extra men to go and leave with their families. Some cried as brothers were torn from each other and fathers from their sons. Then he would have to listen to the sound of a 'Hell Hound' drive up to the building.

Then he would hear and see the APC's open fire with their gatling guns. Bullets tore through the crowd of men as wives and children watched. Husbands, sons, and brothers were thrown around like rag dolls. Then the women were torn apart from their children and they were taken away in big black trucks. The children looked confused as their mothers and fathers were taken from them. Babies cried from the noises of death and then the Death Guard patrols simply walked away leaving the children all alone. To starve to death or inherit the destruction of the city. These children's only respite were the white van's with red stars of david that also inhabited the city. They would whisk the children away to Ralkovia to save them yet they did nothing to help the screaming men. It was not that they couldn't, the van's had medical supplies it was just that they didn't. They would be killed if they did and the young women that served as the drivers and doctors were always being watched.

Sato would also see a target, this white van had carelessly strayed from the usual path's of the death guard used. It was heading into a dead end, or what used to be a bridge. It had no red eyed men sittiing on top of it or hanging from the loops on its side. The occupants were three women, young and in their early 20's. They had sought to help the Japanese even if at risk of being killed and now they were lost amongst the dead of the city.

Another scream ripped through the air making the group in the ruined mall flinch, Sato wanted to tear his eyes away from the horrifying scene taking place in the next building but found that no matter how he tried he simply could not look away. A nudge from one of his comrades brought him back to reality, he blinked a few times and looked in the direction the young man was pointing. He saw the white van, unaccompanied and alone he could just make out what looked like three women. He made a motion to some of the others to follow him, motioning to the rest to stay behind in a whisper he explained what they would do.

The white van drove slowly though the streets eventually reaching a dead end, a broken wall too high for them to go over. One of the nurses stepped out of the van and walked towards the wall, checking to see if it would collapse or not. She heard a noise behind her, not sure if she had imagined it she turned around slowly and almost fell over backwards. Directly behind her, so close the end of the gun was nearly touching her was one of the Japanese, a flag bandana around his head like so many of the others she had seen. When he spoke it was in English but heavily accented
“You come with us, your friends come too” She looked passed the man and noticed that the other nurses also were being held at gunpoint.
“W-what do you want from us?”
“No talk, come”
Nervously she followed the armed men, behind her she felt rather than saw one of the other nurses take a scalpel from the van of medical supplies. She watched her captors they were careful to make sure there was no way for her or the others to escape. oh no, please, oh please, don't let them rape me. The thought kept running through her head and every time they told her to go somewhere she felt she would have a heart attack. After what felt like hours but was in truth only fifteen minutes they were at the fourth floor of a ruined mall, The screams and sporadic gunfire could still be heard from the next building. The person who was probably the leader of the resistance group held a brief conversation in Japanese with some on the other members, the moment they stepped foot in the room some of the rebels grabbed them and tied the three nurses to a chair.
“Now, you ladies be good and tell what we want to know and you will live”
She could only nod her mouth was too dry to allow speech.
“Now, why are you here? Why is this happening?”
Beside her one of the other nurses glared defiance at the rebel
“I will not tell you anything” The Japanese man nodded slowly
“In a moment, Mr. Takahashi there” He waved a hand at one of the others, this rebel had caught the nurses eye before because of the large sword he had slung across his back “Mr. Takahashi will hand me his Katana, if after that point you do not answer my question...” he tailed off leaving the threat hanging in the air. The man referred to as Mr. Takahashi waked over and gave the rebel leader his Sword, the rebel held it a moment then turned the blade to face the defiant nurse
“Now, I ask you again, why are you here?”
The nurse was shaking and she tried to shrink back from the edge of the weapon but still she shook hear head
“I will tell!” The third nurse shouted out, all heads turned to her and she flinched under everyone's gaze
“No, no, you will have your chance but now I want to hear it from this lady here”
“N-not.... S-speaking” The nurse closed her eyes tightly and was shaking with defiant fear. The rebel leader too a step back and after what seemed like a moment hesitation raised the sword and brought it round in an ark the edge of the blade struck the nurses neck , blood spurted from the wound and she tried to give a scream but it was drowned out by the blood that cam out of the mouth, some of the rebels took a step back horrified but the man with the sword closed his eyes a moment, took a breath and brought the sword around again this time with more force, the nurses head fell to the floor and the other two screamed.

***

Sato stared at what he had done and felt slightly dizzy, shakily he raised a hand and the two screaming women fell almost at once into horrified silence. Taking a moment to regain his composure he spoke again, his voice low and emotionless
“I ask you again, why are you here?”

The second nurse slowly spat out in deep contempt,"We were here to help your people. The death guard massacre the men and leave the women and children. We try to save the children from starving to death."

"We were here to help your people. The death guard massacre the men and leave the women and children. We try to save the children from starving to death."
Sato Nodded, still trying not to look at the dead nurse. It had caused such a mess, he had not expected so much blood from one person. He glanced at the next building, the screaming and gunshots were not as frequent as they were before. he was grateful for that at least.
"That was not so difficult was it?" How was he managing to keep his voice so steady when his mind was spinning?
"Now, What are the death guard what why are they doing this?"
