The Eternal Swarm

So, the basic concept:

The swarm has reappeared once again, and has struck at a Biomass rich world. Now, this wouldn't be a problem, if it was uninhabited and no one claimed it.

The problem is, it is inhabited, and contested by two or more nations. (colony/outlying world)

Now, what do we do then? Sit back and let the swarm devour the world? I'd certainly enjoy that. More food for my children.

The most likely option: Everyone gangs up on the swarm.

And things seem to be going well along those lines, until The Hive Ships evolve into Armored Hive Ships.

So, how will it all end? What happens to The Swarm? What am I not telling you? Time will tell.

Don't suppose you'd like an ally?(I take the humans/higher lifeforms you get (almost) everything else)

But if you don't want an ally then I do have reason to attack you so either works...

(The Swarm considers itself to be the epitome of evolution, and thus the highest form of life, but that's pure IC.)
I'd love an ally, it's opponents I'm interested in.

A "higher Lifeform" could take The Swarm's devastation as a chance to terraform or in some other fashion remake the world into something they want.
Phenixica

The Phenixica has hundreds of colonies but their is a handful of Independent human planets which run outside of Imperial Influence. They are home to humans of non-phenixican ancestry and they live pretty much isolated from the galaxy at large.

Most of these worlds are very rich (how else would they convince them to move) The only defense is a token ground based military and a communications link with the nearest Fort.

If these planets were invaded Phenixica would by treaty be forced to intervene but they wont sacrifice all to defend the planet, a small yet powerful fleet would be sent to wipe out the threat and if it retaliated even more ships would swarm into the system.

With a enemy like the swarm they would most likely rescue who they could and try and fight back but if it gets to difficult they would just destroy the entire star-system.

Only way for the swarm to avoid this is simply offer the Empire something they cannot refuse, like services or anything else that would strengthen it's hold on the Citerian Galaxy.

Hmm...

I'm tired and need to rest my small and weary mind. Upon waking later, I shall answer this thread further, but it is looking promising.
