Hawk Prime’s sun climbed above the mountains of the northern most continent. Rays of light shone down on the resort in the mountain valley. In one of the rooms on the northernmost wing of the hotel; Hawk Starfleet Captain Thomas Munro woke. He found himself looking up, out of his dark blue eyes, at the bright white ceiling of his room. He could hear the birds singing and the breeze rustle the leaves on the trees outside the window. As he listened he could just hear the distinctive hum of a shuttlecraft fly over the resort, he could hear the waves of the Opal sea as they crashed onto the beach below. He turned his head to the left and found himself looking at the peaceful, tranquil face of his sleeping wife; Jessica. Tom saw the sheet slightly expand and then contract as she breathed in and out. Tom smiled to himself before reaching his hand and gently placing it touching Jessica’s. As his hand touched, Tom watched as a slight frown crossed Jessica’s face as she slowly woke before feeling her hand tighten around his. Her eyelids slowly open to reveal sparkling Green eyes.
“Good morning, my love” She breathed.
Tom smiled “It is now your awake” He whispered back. Jessica grinned.
“Little flirt” She laughed.
“Don’t you just know it” Tom replied.
“I do, I do” Jessica admitted with a broad smile leaning over and kissing him on the cheek before slowly, teasingly slipping out of the bed. Tom watched her naked form slowly walk across the room towards the on-suite bathroom.
“I’m going to have a shower if you’d care to join me” Jessica commented without turning as she stopped in the door before walking through. Tom stayed laid in the bed until he heard the shower flick on and the water begin to fall. He got out of the bed and walked, with a spring in his step, across the room into the bathroom. Jessica had already got into the shower and was standing with her eyes closed as the water cascaded across her body. Thomas slowly made his way across the bathroom to the shower making as little noise as possible. And when her slipped his arms around Jessica a surprised smile spread across her face. She opened her eyes. As the water covered their body’s they slowly brought their lips to each others.
United Hawk Ship Enterprise
Ensign Jack Grant was tired, there was no other way of putting it. He’d been up all night commanding the Gamma shift. He’d stupidly not gotten enough sleep the day before and was now paying the price for it. He was also cursing his luck that he was unable to get shore leave down on Hawk Prime, there would be other times however. As he wished the minutes away until he was relieved he glanced around at the Bridge crew. They were all ensigns like him and for most of them the Enterprise was their first posting. He wondered if he’d get away with catching a few minutes sleep but decided against it.
The Enterprise was the First of a New Class of Starships, learning from The Valiant Class's shortcomings, the Enterprise encorporated new technologies that we're not compatable with the Valiant Class. Enhanced Shielding, weapons and engines, warp capabale up to Warp 7, top of the Line Sensors. The Enterprise was at least Twice the size of a Valiant class starship, yet keeping the dual hulled, Saucer-Stardrive section layout with warp naccels jutting out from the ship. The Size of the Enterprise meant that whilst the Ship was top-of-the-line, there would still be more Valiant Class in the fleet than Enterprise class, for at least the next twenty years.
Four Hours Later
“Captain on the Bridge!” Jack announced as Tom and Jessica stepped onto the Bridge.
“As you were” Tom said waving the officers down.
“How much of the crew is aboard?” Jessica asked.
“Around seventy five percent Commander” Jack replied.
“Understood Ensign, you and the rest of Gamma shift are relieved” Tom said as he sat in the Command chair and Jessica sat in the Executive officers chair. They watched as the young crew filed off the Bridge. Jessica activated the Command console in-between the two chairs.
Jessica smiled as the turbo lift to their behind them hissed open and four officers stepped out. Lt Commander Danielle Richards, Tactical Officer was first out and went straight to her Tactical station just to the right of the turbo lift as she came out of it. Lt CommanderJake Archer, Chief Engineerm headed for the Operations station that was on the left-hand side of the bridge. A young female Lieutenant stepped out and headed for the helm console in front of the two command chairs and just before the veiwscreen at the centre of the front of the bridge. The last officer out was another woman, an ensign this time who went over to the Science station. The helm officer was Lieutenant Holly Thompson, she had brown hair and grey eyes. The Science officer was a Betazoid Ensign called Carol Bakula, she sported ginger hair and brown eyes. The four of them where all very quite, in fact the entire bridge was so quite you could hear a self-sealing Stembolt drop until Danielle announced ten Minutes later:
“All the crew is aboard Sir”
"Thank you Commander" Thomas said "Contact Spacedock, let them know we're ready to go"
"Spacedock wishes fair winds" Danielle reported shorly later
Thomas smiled "Detach Umbilicals, thrusters to one half, back us away"
The Sleek form of the enterprise backed away from the Spacedock's docking ring. With smooth commands from Holly, she turned until she faced clear space.
"Full impulse"
The Enterpries's powerful Impulse engines enganged and she moved away from the Station. Once Clear of the outer markers, Thomas Gave the Order;
"Helm, Warp Speed Now!"
With A flash of light The Enterprise set off into the unknown.

Hyperborian Boarder
This was the boarder of what was well known as the Hyperborian Khanate. a large and expanding nation that was well known to those next to it for being war-like and conquest loving. Ruled by the powerful Hyperborian Race, many races in the Khanate know only one thing: Bow to The Hyperborian elite or be destroyed.
Patrolling this boarder were Shu'Uasi Class Marauder Ships (http://files.fringespace.org/jgz/SiteNews/arct1lf9.jpg), fast and deadly warships of the Khanate, not as slow as the Giant Rin-Shi Class Cruisers or The Star Destroyers in use, But fast and deadly for one reason, attacking other fast ships.
They were cloaked, to give anyone who wanted to cross into The Khanate was nasty surprise.

The Enterprise continued to move through space. Her sleek lines shone in the light as she warped through the Sector, heading for a patrol of the Planetery Republic's outer perimiter. More as a show of force than anything else. The Enterprise Class was designed to be able to combat Current-gen cruiser/light battleship class ships of other civviliazations that the Valiant class had met. Whilst the Valiant class would still be the principle Exploreation craft of the PR, the Enterprise class would soon become the 'Hot' assignments. With double the Scientific capability as well, the Enterprise would be able to perform more Scientific Enqury than the Valiant CLass.
Thomas sat, looking out of the Bridge's main viewscreen. The Stars streaked past as they headed for their destination.
"We're on the frontier now sir" Holly reported.
"Alright, drop us out of warp, full sensor scan" THomas ordered.
The Enterprise dropped back into Normal space and began to run sensor sweeps of the surronding area. Witht he scans under way she proceeded along the Frontier.

The Enterprise continued on her course along the frontier. Her Powerful sensors reaching out into the far distance. Her spotless hull glistened as they passed into a border star system. The Dorsal of her Saucer section bore her registery, UHS Enterprise. The Enterprises crew was getting about their duties, ironing out any small problems that were inevitable on her maiden voyage.

The Enterprise had passed through the system and was continueing along the border when it came across a rouge planet. The Planet was interesting it was completely smooth and had a Nitrogent atmosphere. The Enterprise entered orbit and began scans.
OOC: Cotenshire, thats you, Steppe Empire, you could have one of your ships bump into me here perhaps, or after we leave orbit?

Nothing about the planet appeared to have been agitated by the arrival of the Enterprise. Faint radio signals could be detected coming from the planet along with its usual life form readings. There were perforations along the planets surface that led into caverns beneath, but otherwise there were no distinguishing features on the planet.

Tom looked over at Jessica
"What do you think?" He asked.
"Looks like a good place to do some exploreing" She replied.
"Agreed, Commander Richards, assemble an away team" Tom ordered looking up.
Dannielle nooded and walked off the Bridge.
Five minutes later a small shuttlecraft emerged from the hanger bay of the Enterprise. Once clear the Shuttle banked and began to descend into the planet.

18-03-2009, 19:32
At this point the Enterprise had not gone unnoticed. There was a stir below the planet's surface as it became apparent that the alien species would be making a visit. Several lookouts were placed near the cave entrances and some were able to distinguish the Shuttle from the surrounding space as it was about to land.
The Battlehawk
18-03-2009, 19:37
The Shuttle set down near one of the entereances. The Away team stepped out, all wearing breathng equipment. They began to make their way over to the Enterence. They all wore a Tricorder and Phaser on their Belt. They approached the Enterenace.

Along the crystalline wall of the cave’s mouth the away team could see the dim reflection of several flashing lights. These lights consisted of all the frequencies visible to humans and many that were not.
Suddenly the lights stopped flashing. The cave entrance was perhaps a half meter in diameter, but was pitch black. The away team’s technology would discern that the cave could be no deeper than four meters at the point of the cave’s entrance.

"Palm beacons" Dannille instructed. They each took a Torch like item from their transporter buffers and lit them up as they ventured inside the Cave.
"Nothing on Tricorder" One of the Security offcers reported.
"Lets take a look at the back" Dannille ordered.

18-03-2009, 23:14
There were a few puddles of what could be described as slime on the floor of the cave near the spot of the away team's entry. Microscopic examination would reveal that the slime was in fact an agglomeration of many distinct and specialized cells, which were much more complicated in structure and variety than those of any Terran organism.
Flashing lights had begun again in the cave. This time they were much brighter, but their sources were still hidden from view. The lights were coming from reflections off the mirror-like walls and the source itself was not in the direct line of sight.
At this cue, the cells in one of the slime pools began fitting themselves together and locking into place. What had seconds before been an amorphous pool now resembled an insectoid creature with a jet black exoskeleton resembling obsidian. The creature was as tall as a man and had several apendages whose purposes were not immediately distinguishable to the away team.
The skin/shell of the insectoid began to shimmer with the rainbow colors that had been flashing through the cave. As it did this the other pools of slime began to transform into similar but not entirely identical insectoids.

More messages were flashed among the insectoids as they realized that their first attempt at communicating with the aliens had not worked. The insectoid who had transformed first appeared to be the leader of the group. It began to speak with a deep, monotonous voice. It had no visible mouth, and the vocal sounds seemed to have come from between two plates on its upper thorax.
“Greetings, humanoids.” The other members of the insectoid group responded with bioluminescent flashes. “You should not try to fight us, as you would and your comrades would be swiftly destroyed. We mean you no harm. Now tell us, are you humans or some other species of humanoids?”

There were more flashing of messages between the group as the aliens gave their answer. The lead insectoid seemed to hesitate before asking another question: "Why are you here?"
Another insectoid offered an admonition to the away team. "His Holiness is quite justified in his distrust of other species. You have violated his territory."

The same insectoid who had been standing behind the leader again addressed the away team. "You are explorers? Is this to mean that you were exiled from your world? There is no need for exploration, as His Holiness already knows everything that needs to be known."
The lead insectoid then spoke again. "Please excuse this fool, for he does not know that there are races ignorant of the God Emperor Xeron's wisdom. Now, as you have demonstrated that your race is not in communion with the God Emperor, we must discover what it is that the God Emperor wills of you. If you would like to witness it for yourselves, then you will come with us."
The insectoids immediately began to file down into the depths of the cavern.

The Away team held back as Dannielle contacted the Enterprise
"Richards to Enterprise"
"Go ahead Commander"
"We've encounted some Insectoids, their leader appears to be at least diplomatic, but at least one appears adversrial, they want to know what 'their god Emperor' wants to do with us, please advise"
"Stay where you are, do not proceed any futher until you know what they want"
"Understood, Richards out"
The Away team stayed where they were
"We'll wait here, we don't want to be an incoveinaice" Dannielle said to the lead

"Very well," said the leader as it led its troop back down into the caverns. Some insectoids were stationed near the away team to observe them. One of these insectoids suddenly began speaking to the away team.
"His Holiness possesses infinite justice and wisdom."
Another said, "You will not need to explore any longer, for His Holiness knows all that must be known."
"Your new mission will be delivered to you shortly."
"You shall fulfill it with the zeal that only His Holiness can inspire."

The space near the enterprise was ripped open by a swirling green-white light. The light expanded for a moment, revealing a fleeting glimpse of a hyperspace lane before the sleek and curving form of a Vucot class science frigate (http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh161/dragonsclaw56/vucotsciencefrigateL3P.jpg). The ship shot from the tear, its black hull hiding it from sight against the void, and sped on, headed straight for the enterprise, veering off a few seconds before impact and turning to face the still open hyperspace window as 2 smaller, grey objects emerged.
The hyperspace window closed and the object opened fire, orange beams of energy blasting from their axis' which were absorbed by the sheilds of the frigate, which responded by firing beams of pure blue energy from 2 large emiters on either side of its hull, suspended on fins.
The beams impacted in the center of the grey objects and they imediatly exploded as the frigate moved off to enter a standard orbit, cloaking as it went.

"Thaleron cloak is online sir." a human in to the side of the comand chair said in an instinctivly hushed voice.
"Get a grip man" the female dragona in the comand chair said, cliping him on the ear "Thank you" she said as an after thaught, already turning to the science and tactical stations on the bridges right side "Science officer, begin scans, try to find us a place to put down. Tactical, scan that ship we almost hit, the moment it looks like they've found us I want to know!"
"Yes ma'm" the officers said as one
"Engeniering, status report, are the warp and transwarp cores still downed?" she said to no-one in particular, a phi-breed in a tank at the back relaying the message for her
"Yes captain, wose than that, the interface between the tri-cores main power supply is damaged, on of the intruders managed to get a few shots at it before we dealt with em." the engniers voice echoed trugh the bridge in response, his russian acent becomign even more prominent.
"Is the hyperdrive core still functional?"
"Barely, I had to resort manualy overide the back-up power protacols to get to get us here, I don't think even Steve could get it working again."
"Hmmm, we'll see, Steve see what you can do, bridge out." The phi-breed in the tank nodded and leaned back into the fleshy wall of his tank, his jet black symbiote sliding back over his face and interfacign with the ship, emiting an erri blue light as it worked.

"A ship" Tactcal responded
"No shit, what ship"
"Unknown" Tactical siad "But it has cloaked"
"General Quarters" Tom ordered "Low Power Phaser Sweep"
The enterprise began to fire her phasers at lowest power, which would not damage a ship but would show where a cloaked ship was

"Evasive manouvers!"
"Too late ma'm, they got a bull broad side on the aft quaters. Sheilds took minimal damage, looks like a low intensity blast." the tactical officer calmly reportedas the ship shook slightly.
"De-cloack, keep the sheilds up"
"Aye ma'm, de-cloaking" The space where the ship was shimmered breifly as the frigates sleek form reapeared a short way away from the Enterprise.

In response to Danielle’s query the insectoid replied, “I do not know how much time you will spend on the God Emperor’s required task, but rest assured that another one will be provided for you once the first is complete.”
The party of insectoids that had retreated down into the cavern now returned. More messages were flashed between those who had stayed with the away team and those who had followed their leader. The leader then spoke:
“The God Emperor Xeron, whose decisions are always distinguished by divine wisdom, has decreed that satisfactory tissue samples be cut from you and you are to then be allowed transport up to your ship. His Holiness requires one appendage sample be stripped from your abdomen and an organ sample be excised from the interior of your abdomen. His holiness requires that these samples come from the youngest of your ranks that has reached adult form.”

23-03-2009, 21:53
There were flashes of surprise and indignation at Dannielle’s refusal. Rarely had they seen such blunt defiance of a divine decree. The leader spoke again, now attempting to calm the anxieties of the away team as well as those of his own retinue.
“I understand that you are unaccustomed to serving the God Emperor. I therefore deem it appropriate that some compromises be made. I will allow one of you to make the dissections and incisions in my place. If, however, your samples are not satisfactory, the chosen specimen will have to be detained until the required parts have regenerated.”

This technology was unfamiliar to the insectoids and they did not attempt to stop the away party as they escaped. Some of them began to flee, but the leader restored order and commanded them to examine the shuttle on the planet’s surface.
