Massive Anouncement!

Huge deposit of gold has been discovered recently, a gold mine consisting of 2,000 hecters in the south west of the Federation of Serbian Soviet Union in a nearby town called Obilic, it is the first ever gold mine field to have ever been discovered in FSSU's history, there has been a very high trace of gold in the field which has got the public in shock and the government in shock, the government has for now decided to secure the area for more examination to find out how much gold is there and how much it's all worth, an estimate of gold discovered in the gold is worth itleast over 12 trillion universal dollars, however the statistics are not yet accurate or yet confirmed untill more examination has been made. In the mean time the government has secured the land for now untill it is confirmed if it is actual gold and for how much exactly it is worth that has been discovered.

OOC: Would you believe that's all one sentence.

IC:

The Dominion of Strator wishes to buy this area of land for three trillion universal dollars. We feel this is a more than just deal, the amount of gold involved here would make the universal value of gold much lower, so it would cease to be 12 trillion universal dollars worth. In addition to this, there is also the work needed in order to excavate the gold, this will require a sizable investment of time and money. We also urge you to take into consideration the effect 3 trillion dollars would have to boost your economy, as it is almost certain you will not be able to sell enough gold to other nations to match this.

OOC: I think he's posting these as some of the issues I've seen have your nation discovering huge resources. So maybe it's based on the issues we get. :p

IC:

The Principality of Belkaland would like to be allowed to survey the area for a more complete image of this gold vein. As it is a common formation within the Strangereal Region for the gold vein be in the form of a plate. If this is the case, then the overall value of the gold will be signifigantly less than what is believed.

IC: According to the latest studieds which was done, the estimate vallue of the gold mine discovered in the 2,000 hecters of land is about 1/4 of the vallue which was reported the first time the announcements were made.

The Federation of Serbian Soviet Union will welcome the Principality of Belkaland to be allowed to survey the gold mine consisting of 2,000 hecters. Entry will be granted which the Principality of Belkaland has requested for the gold mine to be surveyed and assessed and after that, the official results will come in to what the accurate vallue of the gold in that area is.

The Armed Republic of Salzland must condemn the 'seizure' of private lands by the government of the Serbian Soviet Union, in what amounts to little more than the deprivation of the civil rights of its citizens for the purpose of enriching the SSU state. As a result of this outright and wide-scale act of theft, the Armed Republic calls for the nations of the world to boycot gold produced and exported by the Serbian Soviet Union, unless and until the SSU government returns the land and associated mineral rights to their rightful owners, and allows them to do what they see fit with this discovery.

The 2,000 hecters of land outside of a town is an isolated land which is already owned by the government, therefore the government cannot seize the land that it already owns.

(Out Of Character: If that's the case, then you should edit your opening post, where you state in two different places that the government is either "securing" or "seizing" the land. Because, as you said, if the government "already owns the land," then the act of seizing it would be redundant.)

In the name of free enterprise, we recommend that you turn the entire gold find over to a bunch of grizzled old prospectors. And in the name of socialism, we recommend that you tax the bejeebers out of them.

OOC: Don't mean to sound cynical and the fact that the above posts ahve touched on this, but when are you not discovered HUGE deposits of some rare or highly valued mineral?

OOC: Explains it. Anybody want to make a bet on what he's gonna discover next? He's done oil, natural gas, uranium, and now gold! I'm guessing some precious metal like Platinum or Silver.
