A dying man needs to die, as a sleepy man needs to sleep, and there comes a time when it is wrong, as well as useless, to resist.

There must have been thousands of people in the square alone but the crowd was silent and a feeling of misery hung in the air. At various points around the square cameras from the TBBC, reporting both to the north and south waited. The gathered people watched the doors of the newly reconstructed parliament building, to those who remembered It was 1999 again, the atmosphere was the same as back then where they waited for the ultimate confirmation of the death of their leader, it was thought that he was almost as renowned amongst his people as Auriemma had been and Jayson Alvarez held a special part in the hearts of the citizens of TBN especially in his great efforts to restore the nation after the horrors that had occurred few years previously which no-one liked to think of. Seconds passed into minutes when finally the great wooden doors opened and out came the procession, the red coffin in which their now deceased leader lay carried on the shoulders of his comrades. The crowd watched the procession in silence occasionally a sob could be heard from the crowd...

Goodbye Comrade Alvarez
The headline blared out from the front page, Caligari could hardly believe it, his enemy was dead. A simple fact and yet he couldn't quite place how he was feeling, sure he had hated the man and had tried to kill him on occasion but he couldn't help feeling that the man just dying was somehow a personal insult, a joke made at his own expense 'you can't get me now' He shook his head, he was being ridiculous he knew. Skimming through the article he knew what he was looking for it had to be there somewhere. Of course this was how he would find out it's not like the two countries had much to do with each-other.
...Nation mourns the loss....
...Whose health had been deteriorating over the past year....
...Comrade Vito Taddeo will be taking over as General Secreatry....
Ah that was it, Vito Taddeo, he had heard the name but did not know anything about the man, well, se supposed he would have to arrange if not a meeting at least a phone call. He knew what happened if the two countries failed to correspond on a regular basis so he supposed he would have to make the call.

“Call for you Comrade”
“Who from?”
“Caligari”
Vito Taddeo Sighed, well, he couldn't say he had not been expecting it but that did not make the prospect of talking to the man any better.
“Put it through then.”
“Ah, Taddeo was it?”
“Yes” The southerner sounded exactly as he pictured him Taddeo thought, Arrogant and self-absorbed
“My condolences to your nations loss, It must be a testing time for you”
“Thankyou” Why not say what you actually think? “Well, what was your reason for calling?”
“Oh come now, you know full well, I call about the future and what it holds for our two nations”
With a new leader came the possibility of a new start for Terraficial Blanc North but what the future held was anyone's guess there was no way of knowing how things would end up, for better or for worse, history would take it's course...
