Presidential Palace, The City of the Blessed
March 09th, 2008; 0800, (August 16th, 1927, 0100 local time)
The newly elected President of the Stoklomolvi Dominion Beatus, Igor Staten Vladovich, stood on the balcony of the Presidential Palace, over looking many eager Beatusians, awaiting to here this, the first message from their new leader. He checked his watch, 15 seconds till he would begin his speech, at exactly one minute after one. He adjusted the papers in front of him, looked around the crowd, picking out the waiting soldiers, standing at the ready, should anything happen. The time had come, he placed a pair of reading glasses on, which made the 16 year old, look rather silly, however, he did need them, and spoke, "I would like to thank the many of you out there, who worked so hard, to get me elected to this post. I promise you, that I will do all in my power to further the Stoklomolvi-Beatusian agenda." He paused, as cheers erupted form the crowd. He had ensured that they were mainly his supporters, so that the members of the international press, seated on a nearby rooftop, would be unable to hear any detractors. After a few seconds, Igor's hands rose, and the crowd fell silent again, as he continued, his voice bombing through speakers across the square, "In the short time since I have taken power, I have already made many changes, to further that agenda. I have instituted a new flag," at that moment, a large version of the new flag was unfurled from the roof of another nearby building, to great cheers, "I have changed the name of the nation, to the Stoklomolvi Dominion Beatus, and the legislature, has chosen," he had to try to suppress a smirk at this point, "to rename this city, Vladovich, in honor of me. Over the coming weeks, I intend to revitalize the Beatus, through many programs, including downsizing the preponderancy, and maximizing the strength of the Stoklomlvi-Beatusians," at which point he thrust both of his arms up into the air, in a sign of power, and the crowd began cheering again. "I intend to decrease racism, and segregation against Stoklomlvi-Beatusians, and increase prosperity. As part of that, a number of known Beatusian bigots, are, as we speak, being arrested, and their property sold. The money, will be divided up among the Stoklomlvi-Beatusian citizens." This time, the cheering was notably, quieter, and a keen ear could hear booing. "This is not foreseen to cause any strain on the economy, for as we all know, these people," this time, he did let out a momentary smirk, "These people, were doing nothing to further economic prosperity, and in holding back Stoklomlvi-Beatusians, were harming it." Now more in the crowd were booing. "They were nothing more than dumb hogs anyway." This statement hit a nerve, with some of the crowd, while it would not be apparent to the onlooking media, to the crowd it was clearly a swipe at non-Stoklomlvi, Beatusians. Many Beatusians in the crowd, began shouting racial slurs against Stoklomlvi-Beatusians, in response. Before the President could say anything more, the Stoklomlvi-Beatusian majority in the crowd, began moving on the minority, shouting back, and sometimes getting physical. The Beatusians weren't going to stand for such acts, not in their nation, they responded in kind. It was only seconds before gunshots pierced square. Immediately, the President, was escorted from the balcony. The press were also cleared from the rooftop, for their own protection. They were held in the building, for their safety, while outside, the soldiers, rounded up all the Non-Stoklomlvi, Beatusians lined them up against a wall, and shot them. Before the reporters were released, the bodies of those executed, were dispersed across the square, and then shot again, for effect. The wall was covered by a billboard, to hide the blood, and the reporters, were released, to see the devastation caused, by "Beatusian Purists", who, they said, believed that Stoklomlvi-Beatusians, were tainted, and didn't deserve to live. To sell the story, many of the dead, had been posed holding assault rifles.
