OOC- Involvement does not mean "I send 650,000 troops and fight your enemy rah rah" or "I colonize you rah rah"; use critical thinking people.

Chairman Aaron Preston sat within the confines of his office, located among the myriad of passageways composing the People's Congress, located along the Perry River in central Lyons, the Capital of West Defese and home to some 750,000 odd socialist-utopic people.

Preston ran his fingers down his pet Gerbil, rubbing its coarse fur while deep in thought. The capitalist, tsarist, oppressive capitalist East Defesians had for far too long usurped the territorial and cultural integrity of the Defesian continent; it was a threat that had to be dealt with immediately.

He summoned Chief of Staff Harwington to the office, before throwing a large file at him and ordering him to read its continents and return the following morning.

President Clayton Robertson pondered the view of the Nantes Bay, nursing a steaming cup of tea while taking his morning repast with a handful of scones, having donned his smoking jacket to enjoy a pipe of excellent backy, which smouldered in his free hand. He reclined in his far-too-comfortable chair and observed the sunrise through the several-inch-thick plate glass. Below, on the walkway that encircled the Union Buildings and went on into the park behind it, he saw a smattering of people jogging, walking dogs and generally waking up to begin the day anew.

The scene would be—and was, for all parties involved—placid, domestic, and comforting. However, the people who were paid to worry at times like these were doing their job. They did not know, nor could they, that their spy network was going to be too late in informing the President of ominous rumblings to the West.
