Xerut was established as a Jewish settlement colony in 1965 by Motokata as harbor for those seeking to flee persecution. Today it remains a territory under the Motokatan government. It operates a free market economy and has autonomy to commence in Foreign Relations and other policies. However the Motokatan Government has final say.
