At 4:30 AM, 3rd march 2009, the Komarlian Islamic union declared war on the federal government of Komarlia, which has been in power for 41 years, and has been accused of many inhumane acts during their reign of power.
The attacks on the FGoK started in the capital, where the forces of the KIU, all infantry militia armed with automatic rifles and semi-automatic pistols, engaged the security forces in the capital, Womanish.
KIU had captured 85% of the government buildings and main roads in Womanish by 12 noon, but by then the full force of the FGoK armed forces had been mobilized, and the forces were preparing to enter the capital.
At 2:30 PM, the FGoK forces, now numbering around 12,000 men and over 200 tanks, re-entered the now overly-hostile capital.
The Entire city fell on them.
Within 20 minutes, over 600 soldiers had died to the KIU assault, and by 4 PM, the smouldering hulks of over 80 FGoK Tanks littered the streets of Womanish, falling prey to IED and RPG attacks.
It became evident that the KIU had an unprecedented hold on Womanish, so the FGoK retrieved their forces from the capital, leaving some FGoK soldiers in Womanish, besieged by thousands upon thousands of KIU militia.
The lines of control have been drawn, with the rapidly expanding KIU holding Womanish and most area’s further west of it to the coast, while the FGoK forces defend the area’s east of Womanish, including the capitals sister city, Jowkhar.
The far southern territories of Komarlia, which had been a predominately Christian society before the outbreak of war, are attempting to get themselves internationally recognized as the Komarlian commonwealth.

Over the past 41 years since my family was brutally dethroned, we have slowly rebuilt our empire into a small commonwealth of Christian towns, in the far south of our nation, where the flames of the civil war have not spread. With the two political parties engaging each other in open war, our empire is the only place in the whole nation to remain in a stable state, and for that reason we are imploring for international recognisation as a nation, and also international aid to help us remain a nation, with us being in such a hostile situation with the rest of our island. we will repay any aid thrice fold.

The Komarlian Federal Government has recently been the subject of some small civil unrest, and while we are confident our armed forces can handle the threat, we have been advised to ask for foreign aid. Whether economic or military, Komarlia will repay every penny that helps us. We will take any humanitarian or economic aid with open arms, and repay the debts owed with vigorous loyalty.
the Komarlian Islamic union has not formally expressed concern for aid in the international community, though the Almuhad Sheikh, the most prolific militant in the KIU's Womanish branch, has called for a Jihad on the FGoK forces
