Today, in an effort to take the burden of coastal patrols off of the ASoGM's blue water Navy, the Ministry of Defense has announced the formation of the ASoGM Coastal Defense Force. The Coastal Defense Force is a component part of the ASoGM Navy, and will occasionally train with the ASoGM Navy, but will have its own chain of command except in time of war.
To start with, the Coastal Defense Force's equipment will consist of recently purchased surplus equipment, co-mingled with the same type of equipment in use by ASoGM Navy. Once the operational usefulness of the Coastal Defense Force is evaluated, new equipment may be considered.
