After years of isolationist regime and by command of Prime Minister, Gral. Joel D. Reed together with Queen Astrid III, Meridian Austral open its doors to the world. This movement was done because the economy of the nation was stucked by the regime of horror that did the last Congress of the country, trying to usurpe the throne and designate a King as a leader.
Prime Minister explains:
We, the people of Meridian Austral, are ready and glad to open our trade routes and our economy to the world. This was done, with the acceptance and encourage of our Queen, and responding the request of our Private Sector all done in order to reactivating economy and finance on our country, and for the wellfare of our citizens after this Cold Civil War. And also open diplomatic relations to the neighbour nations, making and strengthening friendship between countries.
Also, the Minister of Defense, General Alexander Stadfield pointed that the country needs and upgrade to their weapons and calling to a contest with weapons manufacturers, national and international, to develop new weapons.
We are planning all the requirements and disscusing which kind of weapons are needed. Reallity says that the country's stock of weapons are full of unusable and obsolete weaponry, including assault rifles, aircraft and most important: ships and mechas. Hopefully we could have the advice of the industry and develop a new weapon that we called by the code name "Knightmare".
The Minister told us that the name was inspired by an animation series called "Code Geass", which he's fan of, and that he hopes someday to see one moving and working.
