Parties Standing in the Election

Urutapu Environmentaliust Party

Leader: Lisa Rowling

The Environmentalist Party wants to limit extreme construction, deforistation. calls for fishing regulations to conserve Urutapu's most valuable natural resource which is the fish. They also want to discourage industrial development as it could lead to the destruction of Urutapu's beautiful environment and would like to stop importation of cars unless they are powered by a renewable resource.

Maori Peoples Party

Leader: Tane Turia

This party would like to expand Maori culture. create Maori plane name signs alongside english name place signs and would like all Urutapu citizens to be fluent in both English and Maori. They want a full guarentee of protection of the Maori people rights and equality in the work place

Urutapu Socialist Unity Party

Leader: Cameron Larsen

This is currently the main driving force in the country. The founders of this party led the country to independence and are for a Moral Economy, full equality and a nation with socialist and left wing leanings while promoting all human rights. Cameron is largly seen as a national hero and an idealistic revolutionary who has inspired most of the populace into action. The Constitution guarentee's a leading role for the SUP but its still possable to have fewer seats in parlaiment then the other parties.

The Election is over and the results were VERY startling to Cameron Larsen and eveyr other party leader. The Socialist Unity Party was elected with 100% of the vote which means at least 4 years of rule without any opposition.

It has been written in the constitution that its Illegal for one party to hold all 30 seats in parliament and so the Maori Peoples Party and the Environmentalist Party have been guarenteed 1 seat each

SO after the election 28 seats belong to the Urutapu Socialist Unity Party

1 seat to the Urutapu Maori Peoples Party

1 seat to the Urutapu Environmentalist Party.

The Citizens came out in force to celebrate the election results. Pubs were filled with patrons and fire works were let off. People were all wearing the green arm bands, shaking thier fists and chanting

"Urutapu with Socialist Advancement!"
and
"Urutapu isnt Communist, were Cammunist!"

Cameron stepped out into the crowds and shook hands with the crowds. a bottle of champagne was popped open and sprayed over Cameron and other officials.

The Next Election is now officialy scheduled for March 1st 2013
The Elected President is Cameron Larsen
