Outside the Lamonian Embassy, Sasha, Greal

The embassy avenue was normally full of foreigners going to embassies to get visas etc, but today there was a different atmosphere. The Fedala Accord was sending a observation unit to watch the military, economic, political, and civilian activity in Greal. The government shortly after announcing the soon-to-arrive Observers also announced a curfew on Sasha. Everyone was to return to their homes by 9 PM and no later. Anyone found later then that would have to do some answering to the Greali Police. Greali soldiers began patrolling the embassy avenue after a man lighted himself on fire in front of Lamonian embassy, voicing his disapproval of the observers who were about to arrive the next day. Several hundred people protested the observation unit at the embassy and various Government Offices. Police arrested all the protesters and drove away others that they could not take.

Just barely a few hours later, a new Nationalist protest began with several youths throwing Molotov Cocktails at the Lamonian embassy and several parked cars nearby, setting fire to a few of them. Police eventually gained the upper hand after an hour of clashing and drove them away. The Avenue shortly afterward was closed down and only foreigners were allowed on the avenue and even they had to bring ID. LY4A1 Wolfhound tanks were parked in several areas around the embassies, looking very deadly to any protesters. Despite the appearance of all the heavy armament. A dozen protesters broke through the cordon and tried to break down the gate into the Lamonian embassy by using their motorcycles, but police were able to stop them. For the rest of the day, there were no disturbances in the embassy avenue. Greali civilians wondered what would happened when the observers arrived.

Greali Presidential Office

"Fedala Accord's observers are coming sometime this week. We've already set up an area for them to operate from and they will be able to use our numerous air fields around Sasha. We're still in discussions with Sasha International Airport Management because I'm sure the observers will want a base at one of the terminals there since its near the city center. The curfew will remain in place until deemed necessary to remove it." reported General Galter to the entire Cabinet and not to mention, the President himself. "Any questions?"

The Minister of Transportation voiced his concern that the traffic might increase beyond of what Sasha could handle at the moment, but general Galter assured him the military would do its best not to block the traffic. No one else has any questions.

"Alright, lets make this work people." said President Martin Watson, slightly annoyed that he had to come here and listen to the General talk for thirty minutes, which was a waste of time to him. The president was always busy and did not have time for meeting like this. "I thank everyone here today for joining us. This is critical that we join the Fedala Accord. There'll be a number of benefits, besides the obvious protection thing."

After General Galter left, President Watson called the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Vice president to his office. There would be concerns to dispel and discuss between them. The future of Greal's entry into the Fedala Accord would be determined by the observers.

"Feels like R&R," started Matthew King as he was joined by his older brother Lee King on the aircraft carrier Dare Devil. "What's the point of sending an observation operation anyway?"

"The Fedala Accord requested extra hands for the operation," replied Lee as he watched the transport ships crash through a number of waves. "Besides, we're not going to be alone. Lyras, Lamoni and another nation are dispatching troops. Besides, it'll be different from masscaring another nation,"

"You've got a point," replied Matt.

The time had come for Lynion to do its first operation alongside over Fedala Accord's nations. They were going to observe the nation of Greal in order to figure out if it was capable of being a member. Since Lynion hadn't voted on the subject, this was going to show them, Greal's stablility. Lee was one of the key headmasters on the Order and he was also a representive to Fedala Accords for Lynion.

The naval task force as the 12th Carrier Task Fleet. It contain a large number of frigates, destroyers and light cruisers acting as support. Then Heavy Cruisers, 2 Aircraft Carriers and AA Swatter Cruisers. They were to escort two mechanised battalions and a Spec Ops Platoon to Greal and start observing the situation. It wasn't the fact they needed the extra firepower, it was because they didn't know how stable they were and with rumours they had a number of civil wars, Lynion sent veteran forces from the Last Regional War.

"This is Vamperial Grand Admiral Lee King calling Greal," started Lee as he was in the radio room while the fleet was preparing to sail into Grealian waters. "We're part of the obersation force sent by Fedala Accords and requesting docking permission in one of your harbours,"

Lamonian Embassy, Greal

The Lamonian Marine embassy guards were protected behind purpose built shelters while the attacks on the embassy proceeded, and some intrepid soul had thankfully turned on the sprinkler system; which had helped to prevent the Molotov Cocktails from starting a major fire.

The embassy guards all had their AY-144 assault rifles ready for use, but they were all hoping that they would not have cause to use them on civilians. The man who had set himself on fire was bad enough, but the Molotov throwing youths could not be allowed onto the embassy grounds. Smoke grenades were fired at such an angle that they would land and explode harmlessly on the driveway just behind the embassy gates, where it was hoped that the smoke would disrupt the aim of the youths. Fortunately, the Greali police were then able to hold the offenders, and all seemed quiet for some hours.

When the protesters tried to use motorcycles to break the embassy gates, it looked more likely than ever that the Lamonian guard force would have to use their weapons. A recorded message telling the protesters to leave the embassy was played over a loudspeaker, but even that did not work. What was not known to the protesters, was the fact that the embassy gates were made of a Titanium/Silicon Carbide MMC, which made the gates even stronger than what you would see from "normal" Titanium.

The embassy gates held, and the Greali police were able to halt and arrest these protesters, while the Lamonian guards were relieved that they had not had to shoot any of the protesters. They would gladly have shot an armed enemy force, but none of the guards had signed up to shoot civilians; even those who were abusing their rights.

The observer mission could proceed.

Sasha International Airport

The first wave of aircraft carrying the Lamonian 12th Mechanized Infantry division to their Greali observer mission had landed at Sasha International Airport, and the troops were heading to assigned assembly areas before heading towards their new "home." Next to the assembly areas were the vehicles of the division, comprised of Ironheart variants, M-21A1 MBTs, and logistics vehicles.

Greali troops were nearby, keeping an eye out for any terrorist attacks. The terminal was locked down and opened to only Lamonian and Greali military personnel. Greali troops locked down a street area where they would escort Lamonian forces to their new home, Fort Liberty. Hundreds of civilians on the sidewalks were blocked by a line of police officers. Tens of thousands of soldiers were deployed along the street. After an hour, the street area was ready and Greali troops patiently waited for Lamonians to be done unloading the planes.

Womer

"You have Civilian and Navy Control's permission to dock at Womer, slot three." responded the Naval Command. Slots were like small tiny harbors inside the massive harbor of Womer. Tens of thousands of ships were docked or sailing out. This represented the largest port in the area. A couple more ships from Lynion would not effect it.

Hundreds of Greali marines and police were deployed to the entrances to slot three. In case civilians were more then curious...

"It doesn't feel right," started Matt as he looked out the window on the bridge. "Where are the other nations?"

"I know how you feel," replied Lee as he checked the radar as the fleet was going to anchor in the slot. "I haven't heard anything from the other nations which can mean many things. Nevertheless, we got a job to do and a job we will do," concluded Lee as he watched the carrier dock in the harbour.

"Sir, we spotted a large amount of Greali Forces deployed at the enterances," reported in a runner as Lee started to think.

"There must be riots going on or angry protestors," started Lee as he watched a number of Hunters hand Matt and Lee semi-automatic pistols. "Have the fleet on lockdown mode. Grealian Officals need authorisation from either myself or Admiral Kennedy before they can board. If anybody defies it, you can let the wolverines onto them and if they contiune, orders are to shoot to kill understand?" stated Lee as he looked around at the Hunter's High Commanders.

"Understood sir," they replied. "The fleet will be on high alert,"

Lamonian forces in Greal

When the last aircraft was offloaded, a signal was sent to the Fedala Accord headquarters, and Lamonian military headquarters; stating the the Lamonian observer mission to Greal was up and running. From FA HQ, the other nations involved in the Greali observer mission would be informed that the Lamonian 12th Mechanized Infantry Division had reached Greali soil.

While this was going on, the Lamonian troops entered their various vehicles, and were ready for the trek to Fort Liberty. The division waited for their Greali escorts to lead on, and then the Lamonians followed them to Fort Liberty; where the first thing to be set up was the Skyguard battery. This system had made air defense MUCH simpler for Lamonian units, and more than one senior officer had been heard to remark that they wouldn't know what they'd do for long range air defense and ballistic missile defense if their Skyguard units weren't working.

Finally, the vehicles were parked inside the compound, and the Lamonians explored their new compound, while some of them immediately went to their assigned rooms, where they went to sleep, having the free time on their shift schedule to do so.

The mission would begin in earnest once the force components from the other three nations involved reached Greal.

"Lynion Command Post Protocol 36," started a voice over the radio as Lee had ordered a transmission be sent to their allies in the country. "This is Lynion Command Dare Devil calling all allies. Please respond to this call. Requesting numbers on allies in the country of Greal," it ended as Lee looked about. "We are part of the Fedala Accord,"

"Lynion Command Dare Devil, this is Lamonian Command Damocles on encrypted circuit 36. We are the Lamonian 12th Mechanized Infantry Division, based at Fort Liberty in Greal, over."

The Lamonians had had little word about the other forces assigned to the observer mission, but they had heard a rumor that Lyras was sending a division from the 8th order.

In the meantime, it appeared that the Lynions were the only other Fedala force to have arrived in Greal for the time being; and that would have to do until the Lyran and Yanitarian forces arrived for the mission.

"What a nice day," started Matthew to himself as he walked out onto the flight deck of the carrier. He watched the deployment of several Hunter Squads setting up checkpoints around the slot to keep security on high alert. For Matt, its being awhile since he seen a nation challenge by protest's nevertheless, they had a job to do. For Matthew, it meant taking command of the Lynion Wing's sent to keep an eye on the Grealian Air Force and be prepared to be used if the worse comes to worse. He kept his pistol in his holsiter as he watched a squadron of APC's land on the docks to be used as defensive positions until the checkpoints could be finished.

"Copy that Lamonian 12th Mechanised Infantry Division," replied Lee's voice over the radio as he sent back a reply. "We just anchored in Womer slot three and by the looks of things, there's something wrong in Greal. I've already seen a vast number of Grealian Marines and Police Officers close off the enterances to the dockyard. I'm starting to deploy my Two Mechanised Battalions to keep our warships safe. Have you had any trouble so far?" finished Lee.

Lee kept wandering how many other nations had responded to the call to observe Greal. Even though they were out-gunned, Lee favoured quality over quanity any day. He recently chose to deploy his brother's first command of a wing and Rathma's Squad alongside Two Ranger's Squads (Elite Hunters) to act as their Spec Ops. Lee had faith in the men he picked and waited for a response from the Lamonian's. In the mean time, Pit Bull Mountain Wolverine's ventured around the ships acting as guard dogs alongside with Hunter's partolling the main docks.

The two Mechanised Battalions were deployed on the docks as they started to construct a base around the enterances to their slot. IFV's and APC's partolled and established checkpoints as Vamperial Master Longshanks was going to take two squads of Hunters and a small convoy to scout around and enter the local city. Matthew King on the other hand deployed a number of unmanned aircraft to be used as recon and if required, be fighters should they need to be.

David Longshanks climbed into the back of an APC as his team of 24 mounted onto APC's and IFV's. A LYA2 Wolfhound Battle Tank was deployed as part of their escort party. The small convoy started to venture towards the enterances and then head out towards the city.

"At present, we are unaware of any large scale disruptions, though our embassy was attacked by protesters before our contingent arrived, but the attacks were held back by Greali units. I would suspect that there might be more of the same near you, but it might be wise to use a helicopter to recon the area. We can helicopter out to you, if you request it."

This still left the Lamonians wondering where the promised Lyran and Yanitarian units were, since they had also officially signed onto the mission. Even the coming war with Strator hadn't kept the Lamonians from fulfilling this obligation.

Greali helicopters full of snipers and armed police flew above the Lynion convoy moving into Womer. Naturally, many civilians were on the streets, watching the new visitors curiously. The sidewalks were packed with civilians. Marines and police formed a long line along the sidewalks to block off the area. Riot police were marching around in huge numbers. Police and marine APCs were driving alongside the convoy. As a demonstration, several hundred fighter jets were flying over the city.

"I hate riding APC's," started Rathma as the convoy suddenly stopped for a moment. Rathma got up from his seat, opened the door and stepped outside to have a look alongside his squad. "Get the convoy moving again,"

Rathma adjusted his slouch hat and his mouth guard, which covered most of his face except his eyes. He glanced about for a moment as he noticed how the Grealian Forces were over-protecting the convoy. The squad sighed and adjusted their uniforms for a moment as they ran alongside the convoy to get a bit of fresh air. Longshanks glanced about and noticed how bad the situation was in Greal. He jogged over to Rathma as they came to a walking pace.

"You wanted us to make an observation about the situation here?" Longshanks asked Rathma as he nodded in response. "Sir, this country government is majorly paranoid about their citizens. I mean, do they really need this much protection for a small convoy?"

"We're the best damn outfit in the entire Black Assassin League," stated Rathma as he loaded his XM8 with a clip. "This is an embrassement to us and the League. What's more, this government has dispatch practially, their entire garrison stationed at the city just to watch us. There were reports indicating that the Lamonian Embassy was attacked by rioters. Now, what do you think about their membership into the accord?"

"Well...off the record, they need to stable their government and the public before they'll be accepted into the Fedala Accord. I mean, if we have someone unstable, I don't want the Vamperial Kingdom wasting good forces on a civil conflict where they could be fighting else where for the good of the kingdom and the accord,"

The pair had arrived at the front of the convoy where they found a LYA2 Wolfhound and its driver waiting for the Grealian Forces to keep moving. Rathma looked at the driver as he climb down from his tank and reported to Longshanks and Rathma. The IFV's and the APC's meanwhile were scanning the area keeping an eye on the locals.

"I don't bloody believe this," started the driver with a thick Union accent. "The Grealian Civilian population in this city has basically venture out to look at us thinking we're some kind of bloody circus show,"

"These folks have never seen a Lynion Force in their own city," stated Rathma as he signalled the drivers to prepare to move on. "We'll move on and prepare for possible riot attacks," The driver nodded in reply and climbed back into his Wolfhound as most of the squad returned to their APC's while Rathma and Longshanks boarded the Wolfhound for a ride as the convoy contiune to move. Rathma looked up as a squadron of Lynion un-manned aircraft ventured over the cities air space. This was the promise from Matthew King and they were to act as their eyes and ears from above should something go wrong.

The 2356th (Southbastion Cavalry) Heavy Armoured Division was going about the business of disembarking from its transports. A cordon of infantrymen stood beside Greali police and customs officials as the hardware of the formation rolled off. One would have expected the noise to be cacophonous, but the opposite was true. The formation was in a civilian area - out of courtesy to their hosts, the AFVs were running on batteries. The only noise was the muffled clanking of tracks, and the occasional shouted directive.

The 2356th was one of the Protectorate's oldest and most distinguished units. It had existed, in various forms, for over five hundred years, being formed under the authority of Duke Mortimer of Kush, as a cavalry formation attached to his infantrymen-at-arms. The Duke could never have envisaged the current incarnation of his unit.

Major-General Lombardi watched the battalion he was on-ship with roll off, and resisted the urge to sigh in contentment. It was great to be back on solid ground. There was a certain helplessness associated with maritime travel that had never sat well with him. On land, a keen mind and a good foxhole could usually keep you safe. At sea, you could die just by being on the wrong ship. You were always, for better or for worse, far more the master of your own destiny on land.

And what a destiny it was, Lombardi thought, as the first of the division's Werewolf assault guns rolled whisper-quiet down the Kazatlan-class ship's loading ramp.

The Greali civilians greeted the Lyrans with awe and shock. It was obvious this was a veteran division with interesting troops and much of the same equipment the Greali soldiers had. Police officers mounted on their APCs were shouting for the civilians to get back to the sidewalk so the Lyrans can proceed to the base. There was a massive group of them blocking the street. Eventually the civilians moved back, creating enough room.

Unknown to Rathma, only one tenth of the garrison was actually assigned. Police forces numbered only one fifth of the entire number of police officers in the city. The civilians eventually began moving along to their work, and police could breath a little easier.

"Longshanks prepared to move the convoy around head back to the docks," ordered Rathma as he gave the hand signal to have the convoy return back to the docks. "Our report will state that Greal is slightly stable but is in some serious improvements. I'm not willing to have our boys come here to stable it where they could be else where and more useful," finished Rathma as he watched the convoy turned around and headed back towards the docks.

"(I'm not so keen about having these men fight side by side if they have to have a massive amount of forces protecting us)," Longshanks stated in the native language of Lynscert Island.

"We got the report Longshanks, have the men return to base so we can get a full report through to our leader's," ordered Rathma as the convoy started to head back to the docks.

OOC: I've discussed this with Greal and Lyras, and Lyran troops will be the only Fedalan troops to respond to the incident, aside from Yanitarian helicopters from the embassy and who have already arrived at Fort Kastan (the Greali name for the base that our troops will be stationed at). Womer, Greal, 22h36m

Maréchal de Corps Athanaël Renault stepped onto the deck of the Foxbury class amphibious carrier. His ship, the BRY Indomptable, was the staging point for the 17,000 men of the 85ème Division de Dragon, a light mechanized infantry, or Dragoon, division. With the three other carriers, a total of 14,000 men had arrived at port that night. The remaining 3,000 men would be flown in over the next week. Maréchal Renault was there to personally oversee his command. Although being in command of a single division was below his rank, he was also to serve as the chair of the joint council of Fedala nations contributing to the observation mission, a position which he had acquired by virtue of his other role, military liaison between the Greali government and Yanitarian government, a position that granted him intelligence briefings that the other high ranking Greali officials would receive. Quite a few tasks, he knew, but if anyone had the organizational ability to accomplish this, it was Renault. His division XO, Brigadier Pierre Humbert, stood behind his commander, surveying the assembly of troops as they offloaded equipment and supplies.

"Sir, the Lyrans, they don't have much in the way of good food, is this not so?" Brigadier Humbert said, stepping beside his commander, still scanning the dock area. "They are foreigners, of course. I have some plans written up for your approval, I can show you at the embassy. I have a plan to boost morale amongst our men, and foster better relations with the Lyrans stationed here. Perhaps... if it is successful you can recommend my suggestion to the Minister-"

"Hurry up," interrupted Renault, who lately had been increasingly impatient and temperamental. "We must get to our embassy. Where is our car?"

"I couldn't find an appropriate luxury car, sir, but I thought that due to the recent protests, perhaps you would like to go in an M-25 in parade livery? My idea is that-"

"That's fine," said Renault, not truly listening. He preferred an IFV, in any case.

"-instead of buying food locally, as is standard procedure, we give the soldiers the option to buy their own food. Perhaps if they buy from the smaller local distributors, they can get a good price, or spend some pay to bolster it. We suggest they find their Lyran counterparts and trade food for minor tasks such as laundry duty. Our men get relief from their minor annoyances, they get to choose what they want to eat, they get good company for dinner, and the Lyrans experience something unlike anything they've ever seen before." The rehearsed nature of his words bled through, despite his best efforts, but luckily Renault simply nodded agreement, not particularly caring what his subordinate had to say. As far as he was concerned, he was too whiny to be a general.

Renault left his executive officer to lag behind as he entered the armoured vehicle, which had been sitting conspicuously flanked by two SLT-31 Chevaliers, with full troop compliments. A staff member waited with several dossiers in tow, stored neatly in a black canvas bag, which Renault had specifically asked for. He was legendary in the army as a stickler for bureaucratic efficiency and homogeneity, and for, at several points, disregarding the safeguards that such bureaucracy was meant to provide, and doing things in an unorthodox, highly immoral way that earned him, among other monikers, the title of "Le Boucher de Lieche" for the massacre of jewish resistance fighters who had occupied a catholic church. Despite talks with negotiators, which had appeared to be gaining ground, which involved a good portion of the local resistance to put down their weapons, and agree to take their civil disobedience into a more public, less violent political sector in exchange for amnesty, Renault ordered an assault under the guise of a trade of hostages for food. The assault ended with twenty eight dead armed-terrorists, nine dead civilians, and information that lead to the arrest and execution of a good deal of the resistance leadership. The stunt ended the rebel organization and effectively stemmed any further violence, with no negotiated concessions to the jewish community where the insurrection largely originated, although by no means did it assuage the anti-imperialist pro-jewish-nationalistic feelings of the locals, it did, however, silence them publicly. Renault represented the animosity of the Yanitarian government towards the Greali government, which had only recently subsided to a feeling of strong ambivalence, after having secured several private concessions which were only published among official memos passed around the Fedala Accord administrations.

The Maréchal perused the dossiers disinterestedly, mainly interested in the reports of protesters staging demonstrations outside of the embassy. The IFV drove somewhat lazily toward the nearest train station, where it was prepared for the seven hour journey to the embassy. Renault made himself comfortable for the trip in a private passenger car.

Sasha, Greal, 7h48m

The IFV, fresh off the train, slowly pushed past the crowds with it's escort. The 50mm cannon, aimed skyward, had been pelted with eggs and rotten vegetables. The side of the vehicle was now an artist board for graffiti, and Renault was red with fury. As the embassy loomed nearer and nearer, the Maréchal wanted to go faster, to get pasted the crowd of "damned foreigners." A stern Catholic himself, prayed to Saint Adrien, patron saint of arms dealers, old soldiers, and butchers, thinking back to the shrine he had built in his garden. Although religious, unlike most Yanitarians, he did appreciate the congruent humour in the origin of the money that built the shrine. Like most Yanitarian generals, he did not earn much more than a colonel, while, for similar reasons, most of his peers, as generals, were very wealthy. And it was no coincidence that the Arms Industry, which exhibited a healthy growth no matter the temperature of the economy, was always having new orders placed, while "misplacing" an alarming amount of those orders. Those orders came from men and women of Renault's position, destined for foreign lands. There was an unwritten understanding between the military, the corporations, and the judiciary that as long as the illegal activities that were common amongst the brass remained quiet, and didn't effect la Yanitarie, then it only benefited the tax payer and the business man. Maréchals moonlighting as merchants of the fine instruments de la mort bought themselves a good life by shortening others, while the average person, aware only that the high taxes were lowered by the taxes levied on arms corporations, had no idea how the low salaries of generals, and extra business they brought into the country factored in.

The gates of the embassy rolled pasted the view through the firing port, allowing Renault to breath a sigh of relief. Lately his blood pressure had been rather high, and he looked forward to a relaxing nap in a room at the embassy, or at the very least in his office. The side door opened, and, as doctrine dictated, he exited first. The embassy guards displayed an emotionless wall to the crowd, which boiled in anger like a stormy sea. At some level, Renault understood their fury, but by no stretch of the imagination did he truly care. After dismounting, he took a second to pull out his silver cigarette case, pulling one out, and quickly lighting it with a matching, monogrammed torch lighter. Outside the gates, journalists reported on the crowd, with one camera catching a Greali teenager as he picked up a rock, and tossed it at the IFV. Although it struck harmlessly on the armour, it started a whole wave of potentially dangerous projectiles, several of which struck dangerously near the soldiers. Renault's escort moved towards the gate, ready to physically push the crowd back, readying their AY-144B rifles. A green beer bottle, it's label worn off, and probably originating from the embassy trash bin, arced through the air, glinting in the morning sunlight, from Renault's point of view, before connecting with his skull, shattering and knocking off his peaked cap, and drawing blood from his brow.

His face turned red, and seemed to bleed faster. Before Humbert could stop him, he was cursing and stomping toward the soldiers at the gate. Pushing his way to the front, he grabbed the lieutenant who was in charge of embassy security. He loudly ordered the man, "I command you to order you f---ing men to fire into the damn crowd of shit-stained barbarians. These god damned anarchists have assaulted me, so deal with them."

The lieutenant, a scrawny youth, frowned, but did not move. Although athletic, he was intimidated by the bear of a man that was Renault, and simply terrified by the situation. The roar of the crowd was deafening, and items rained down on the soldiers, one man being struck by what would have been a deadly brick, had he not been wearing a helmet. The resolve of his men was slowly being eroded by their lack of faith in the stability of Renault, and the new, dangerous attack by the otherwise unarmed civilians. Renault, not one to appreciate hesitancy in subordinates, morality of the action aside, tightened his grip on the collar of the young officer, before flinging him onto the ground before the crowd. In that instant, several things happened. A journalist in a tree, hoping to get a good shot, snapped a picture, while a soldier panicked and fired, while a young woman grabbed her chest as the blood stained her shirt. The rest of the soldiers, not entirely sure, in the close quarters, where the shot had come from, started firing, some into the crowd, most into the air above it, either too afraid to aim properly, or too afraid of actually hitting a civilian. For a moment, the only sound that could be heard were gunshots, which were soon followed by screams as the crowd dispersed in a panic. In the aftermath, several people lay wounded, or after being trampled by the crowd. The lieutenant, speechless, stood up carefully. The only ones left in the street were him and the few journalists who were willing to risk confrontation. Humbert, thinking quickly, ordered the men to arrest the journalists and confiscate anything that contained footage of what happened. The journalists, numbering three, not including the one who had safely hidden in the tree. To the crew of the IFV, he issued a general request on the main Fedalan military radio channel, which excluded Greali forces for privacy reasons for a medical evacuation team, knowing that the Lyrans, ever prepared and with good response times, would probably answer first, and arrive on the scene shortly.

Renault, who sat down on the ground behind the soldiers, suddenly shocked at what had happened, realizing the ramifications of his reaction to his injury, and partly feeling a wrenching guilt, the image of the young woman who was the first to be injured, which would forever be burnt into his nightmares, suddenly snapped out of his shock as he heard Humbert's final order. Realizing that he could perhaps salvage his reputation, he ordered the embassy guardsmen to attend to the journalists, while his personal escort attended to the wounded. As the soldiers moved, he slowly walked to the IFV, and picked up his hat. The vehicle crew, having issued the request, exited the IFV to attend to the Maréchal's slight wound, before ferrying medical supplies from the vehicle to the wounded.

Since the incident at the Yanitarian embassy, the Lamonian troops always traveled in groups whenever they went off of the base, and made sure that people could see their AY-144 assault rifles. Each man also carried a gas mask, and several Tear Gas grenades, which were not to be used unless they were under attack. However, the crowds tended to stay away from the armed troops in the aftermath of the "Yanitarian Incident."

In an effort to show that the Fedalan Observers could also do good things for the Greali nation, millions of cases of MREs were flown into Greal, and distributed to Greali homeless shelters in the Sasha region. (OOC: http://www.olive-drab.com/od_rations_mre_menus.php) Surplus army tents were also donated; giving the homeless somewhere to live, even if the tents were done in woodland, desert, or urban Flecktarn camo schemes.

It was hoped that an intimidating image, coupled with "good" deeds, would help the Greali population to at least accept the Lamonian presence of one division on their soil.

In the meantime, Lamonian troops were making appointments with the appropriate Greali military officers to begin a liaison mission between the two militaries, and a request was sent to the Greali Government for a speech before the Greali Senate.

A sole Avro Lancastrian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avro_Lancastrian), bearing Morridane markings (http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y81/mad_ruskkie/morridaneaerialcorps.png), made its final approach to the major Greali airport. Onboard was its only passenger, Captain Artemis Stormwell, the Morridane observer for the Fedala Accord mission.

Sending a single officer, at least compared to the divisions sent by others, might had said a great deal about the Morridane's faith in the mission. During his long flight Captain Stormwell had time to think things over and strongly suspected that he was considered expendable on this mission since he wasn't on that good a terms with Command. Least th'damn plane is gonna be stuck 'ere with me! He thought gloomily as the aircraft taxied to a halt.

The journalist's footage in a few hours was on every TV screen in the country. It also made the evening news, so in eight hours, pretty much everyone was aware of it. The hospital reported seventeen dead and a few dozen injured. Greali crime investigators escorted by soldiers and police arrived at the scene to investigate allegations from the protesters. Greali troops also were dispatched following the shootings and three mechanized divisions were entering the city from Womer to reinforce the garrison. Police patrolled the streets more actively then ever, reminding people of the past dictatorship government.

The local district court immediately began reviewing the shooting and were determining whether to put out an arrest warrant for the Yanitarian general. But public pressure mounted very quickly. Opposition parties were calling for massive street demonstrations while the president himself has called for clam. There was to be a demonstration in front of Fort Kastan in a week.

The Greali public meanwhile seemed to declare it would be neutral to Lamonian, Lyran, and Lynion forces, for now. the Greali Senate granted the Lamonians their request for a speech and apparently it was to be at 10 AM and all the senators would be there, for the first time since the election. The President and some government officials would also be observing the speech.

"Have you heard what happened?" started Kennedy as he handed Lee a recent report. "If we aren't careful ourselves, we might risk a demostration outside the dockyards,"

"I heard about what happened there," replied Lee as Kennedy followed him out onto the flight deck. "We'll have to be prepared for a demonstartion or a riot depending on how the officals are stirring up the public. Inform the checkpoint guards to allow only authorised personal onto the ships. I don't want any of this from getting out of hand," Lee explained as he watched a pair of Wolverine's and their master start a routine partol. "It also includes the Media. For the moment Lynion warships were off limits to the common public unless they had a pass from Lee himself.

Lt. General Felix Halvor Kennet was reviewing his speech one last time while waiting for the flashy political TV ceremonies died down, and he was ceremonially led to the session of the Greali Senate, where he would deliver his speech.

Kennet was five feet, five inches tall, and had served in the Lamonian Mechanized Infantry in a time when the IFV's used did not allow tall men to serve. Kennet was well beyond when most people would consider their retirement; and in truth, he had known no other life than that of the military. Kennet was born in the desert east of Lamoni, listening to the war stories of his great-grandfather, and grandfather on his father's knee. These included the Psipronian War, multiple standoffs with other nations that could well have erupted into full scale war, as well as cross border raids against unfriendly nations, and covert raids from friendly nations into enemy nations. At age eighteen, Felix had enlisted in the Lamonian Army, and had tested into Mechanized Infantry. He had been enamored of the machines of war, and had gone from being the infantry that was dispelled from the back of the IFV's, to being an IFV gunner, to rising through the Lamonian Army ranks; ending up in charge of his old unit for this important assignment to observe Greal.

Like speeches from competent military men the world over; Kennet's speech was heartfelt, explained things in a way that the audience would understand, and went right to the point. Kennet was not sure if Greal would be admitted to the Fedala Accords, but he was sure that the Greali government had put forth a good faith effort to allow the observation mission, so far. Hopefully, the Yanitarian blunder would not diminish what was sure to be months of political effort to carry the effort this far.

In this glorified waiting room inside the Greali Senate, there was even a television, which was tuned to the formal announcements and such that could come from such events as the Lamonian President's annual State of the Nation address before the Lamonian Senate, and Chamber of Deputies. Finally, everyone started to quiet down, and Lt. General Kennet stood when he saw the Greali citizen in charge of escorting him to the podium in the Senate Chambers. He was as ready as he would ever be to give his speech; even though he knew that the eyes of practically everyone in Greal, and the Fedalan observer missions would be analyzing his every word. Not to mention his own government back home; they were sure to be watching this as well. Kennet was sure that a team at the Lamonian Foreign Ministry was standing by in case he made any diplomatic blunders with his speech, but Kennet would not make any, he thought. Such was the conviction of his mind.

Greali Senate Main Chamber

Lt. General Kennet was entering a room full of Senators. Five hundred and fifty of them to be exact. All of them elected in districts all over Greal. The Majority of them had neutral looks in their faces while the rest had looks of loathing and pure hatred at Kennet. The President of the Senate, Sam Watson introduced Kennet to the Senate. "Senators, this is Lt. General Kennet of the Lamonian Armed Forces, who has come to make a speech, concerning recent events." Some of the Senators looked nervously at each other, small discussions breaking out in the Senate. "We have come here to listen today."

Lt. General Kennet looked over the sea of elected Greali faces before he began his speech.

"Honorable members of the Greali Senate, President Watson, observers, and tv watchers everywhere.

Recently, a tragic incident occurred at the Yanitarian embassy, when Yanitarian troops fired upon Greali and foreign citizens. These deaths were tragic, and there was no reason for them to occur, from the available evidence. I call upon the Yanitarian government to open a joint investigation of the incident with the Greali government; one that will be both fair and transparent. The guilty parties determined by such an investigation must then be punished to the fullest extent of Greali law.

At the same time, it is not for me to determine the guilty parties of this incident, as I am not a judicial official. Attacks upon Fedalan personell will not bring back those who have tragically lost their lives, and are only so much wasted energy. Instead, we must now bury the dead with all of the honor that they deserve.

This brings me to my next point. I will personally attend the funeral of any victim of this incident where the family of the deceased invite me. I am not doing this for any Personal or governmental gain; I merely wish to show the dead the honor that they deserve.

I am honored to be the first Lamonian to address the Greali Senate, and I hope that I am only the first, as it is the desire of the Lamonian people and government to establish closer diplomatic and military ties with the people of Greal. Pending your approval, my government has authorized a cultural exchange with Greal, to include fine art, music, and theater. Many nations have come and attacked Greal militarily, but we have come to Greal as friends. As friends, we will not allow our friends to be invaded while we can do something about it.

The division under my command; the Lamonian 12th Mechanized Infantry Division, has never forgotten that we are guests on Greali soil, and we will continue to act as such for the duration of our stay here. Our forces are still taking baby steps to help build mutual trust with the Greali people, even playing tourist as much as our generous hosts allow. It is our hope that in time, the bonds of trust between our nations will grow; allowing both nations to peacefully compete on the economic battlefield, giving and taking from each other in all honor and friendship.

I have been assured by President Stinson that at this time, Greal has the vote of the Free Republic to join the Fedala Accords; an alliance of nations that seek only the right to exist peacefully, but have amassed major military might with which to defend themselves, if the need should arise. Greal would be a welcome addition to the alliance, and would assume all of the duties and benefits that membership in the Fedala Accords confer, when you are accepted into the accords.

As a further sign of goodwill between the Free Republic of Lamoni and the noble Greali people; I bear a gift of great symbolic significance to Lamoni."

As the Lt. General lifted the velvet cover that had been on the podium before him, a cylindrical object about the size of a can of soup could be seen. Most of it was white, with metal covering parts of it. The Lt. General lifted it so that it could be seen before speaking again.

"This is the gavel used in the first session of the Lamonian Senate. Crafted from Ivory and Silver by the Lamonian craftsman John Silverhand, it was commisioned in order to celebrate the independence of the Lamonian nation. As a new nation formed from what were refugees that no one else wanted, this gavel came to symbolize the fact that we had made ourselves a home that we would proudly defend, even if the rest of the world was against us. It also came to symbolize the republic that we had elected to govern us, and which has stood to this day; as we continue to look to the future and the opportunities that it might bring.

Thank you, and may both our nations prosper."

With this, Lt. General Kennet set the gavel down on top of the velvet cover, and walked to the seat prepared for him after any potential applause died down; awaiting any potential response that the Greali government might deem fit to make.

It took half an hour before Captain Stormwell found some Greali officals who would actually listen to him, rather than ignoring him like most of the airport staff had done since his arrival in Greal. Secruity guards, armed ones at that, being what they are the Captain quickly explained his problem. "I'm with th'Fedala Accord observer mission an' I need ta get in contact with th'Lamonian officals that are already 'ere."

It was a moment before one of the guards replied with a slightly confused look. "Yea....sure I guess."

A few minutes later after some rapid radio chatter and a few choice curses over a walkie talkie, Stormwell found himself being led through a maze of back areas to a small office where he was given use of a telephone. Another five minutes he was through to what he hoped was the Lamonian forces, though the speaker on the other end acknowledged the Captain's arrival before hanging up with no further word.

Presumingly the Lamonians were sending some form of transport, or so he hoped.

A Lamonian DnA-30 helicopter (OOC: http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=14483754&postcount=9 ) descended into it's designated space at Sasha International Airport about fifteen minutes after the phone call of Captain Stormwell.

A pair of Lamonian Army Privates were sent into the airport itself in order to scour the place for Captain Stormwell, and eventually found him in a somewhat more forgotten part of the bustling airport.

When they had his attention, the Lamonian Privates saluted; and the senior one of the two started talking. "Captain Stormwell, I am Private First Class Gonzalez, and this is Private First Class Marton. Welcome to Greal, sir. If you'd like to take your luggage and follow us, we'll take you to the helicopter. You have been assigned quarters in the same part of Fort Liberty as the rest of the Lamonian officers, if that is to your liking."

As the Privates led the way to the helicopter, they were very attentive to the Captain and his needs, as ordered. They eventually got to the waiting helicopter, and Lt. General Kennet of the Lamonian 12th Mechanized Infantry Division was waiting inside. The Lt. General waited for Captain Stormwell to climb inside of the helicopter before saluting the Captain, and introducing himself. After a minute or two of the pilots going over their pre-flight checklists, the helicopter was airborne, on it's way to Fort Liberty.

The paramedics could do nothing for Eric Tulberg's wife, Susan. She was the first one down, shot by Yanitarian soldiers. Eric was there with her at that time. Around him the crowd was screaming, running wildly around. Eric cried for help in the noise around him, but everyone seemed to ignore him. Yanitarian soldiers offered to help, but Eric screamed at them to go away. Finally Greali paramedics arrived there and transported Susan to the hospital. It didn't matter. The doctors pronunced her dead. Eric, after being told of this, broke down and left in rage. The docotor didn't mention that letting Yanitarian soldiers treating her might have saved her since it took a while for Greali medics to get there. Eric went home blinded by anger, throwing things at inquring reporters that stopped by. He asked himself in frustration over and over, Why my Susan? Why her?

He told himself the Yanitarian general in charge, was blamed. It looked that way since the media was choosing him as a scapegoat for the "incident". So the general is responisible. His men were following his orders. He hoped the Greali government would do something, but they seemed unwilling to condemn the general or even arrest him like some opposition politicans suggested. Now there was to be a speech from the Senate building.
They will do nothing. He had to do it himself.
He woke up 4 am the next day and quietly headed for the gun store across his house. it was notorious for selling iliegal weapons. Eric only wanted two things. A silencer and a sniper rifle.
An hour later, he walked out of there, his wallet two thousand dollars lighter, but with a pistol and best of all a modified Yanitarian SY-43. The irony was not lost on him.

Outside the Senate Building

There was a large crowd gathering in front of the building. There was a space in the front of the building that was surrounded by police officers in riot gear. A helicopter that had two Yanitarians onboard, General Renault and the Ambassador, was about to land soon. The crowd could already hear the distant thumps of a helicopter approaching. Eric arrived at the area early. He could now see the helicopter in the distance. He was tempted to fire right there with his pistol. Not now. No innocents must die. Only one must pay for what he did today. As the helicopter approached closer, the crowd pulled back and the riot police quickly increased their numbers. Eric had seen enough, knowing the general and the ambassador would be escorted into the building. He quickly walked away to the other side of the building.

Rear Entrance, Senate Building

There was only one guard. Surprisingly, there was no one around. Perhaps everyone had gone to the main entrance.
"ID please." said the guard, looking tired.
"Wait a sec." Eric reached into his backpack and gave him his ID. The guard looked at it and was about to say something when Eric took out his pistol and brought its butt onto the guard's head. The guard was knocked out. He quickly grabbed his ID, dragged the guard away into a janitor room. It was incredible. No one was around. My luck can't be this good. He walked down the hall where there were security cameras, but luckily for Eric security was mostly concerned with the mean looking crowd at the main entrance.
He took the stairs to the second floor. He had used to work in the building as an aide for senator Wilson before Eric was constricpted into the military. He was very familiar with the building. He heard a huge round of applause and quickly walked into a room overlooking the senate chamber. It was a incredible sight. All the most powerful people in Greal were sitting in the chamber, about to hear the speech from General Renault. He turned off the lights, set up his sniper rifle and waited.
Finally the general entered the chamber, there was some applause, but it was mostly quiet and whispering among the senate. This was now Eric's chance. He looked through the scope and saw that the reticle was aimed at the General's forehead, who was now making his speech to the senate by starting off with introductions.
There's no looking back. Eric pulled the trigger. A few seconds later, he realized he made a big mistake.

Realizing that he was probably holding the Lamonians up, he quickly climbed aboard and acknowledged the Lt. General's saluted. Once they were airborne, he asked. "So...'ow bad is it?"

"The Yanitarians have managed to shoot up some Greali and possibly foreign civilians, but the other FA nations with a presence here have so far not been blamed for what the Yanitarians have done. Lt. General Kennet has given a speech before the Greali Senate, which appears to have been well received. We have also received word that the Yanitarian General in charge of their contingent will be making a speech. I would think that the atmosphere in the Greali Senate will be poisonous during THAT speech."

---

As for Lt. General Kennet, he had taken his seat in the front row of the Greali Senate Chamber. He assumed that the people sitting near him were important (why else would they be seated in the front row?), but he had no idea of who they were. If he stayed in Greal long enough, he would probably find out, but that was of no help to him at the present time.

For now, he kept an eye out for anyone that might want to talk to him, and prepared to see what would happen next.

Renault, being the sort who could but on an acceptable demenor for the cameras, introduced himself in a completely disarming way, much as you'd expect a popular friend might. His body language was completely open, just as a paid instructor had taught him, as he stepped up to the podium and introduced himself, including some accomplishments with in his title that might have been considered a bit vain in Yanitaria, but which foreigners might dismiss as an interesting cultural trait, as ignorate as he assumed they were. His english was marked with a thick Yanitarian accent, and he was unable, despite his coaching, to pronounce properly the Greali "r" or "th" sounds. In his summer khaki and black uniform, standing as tall as his heel inserts would allow him, he brought the ambassador forward, for his own introduction.

And quite suddenly, he was blind. His face was sticky and warm, as he reached up to discover that it was covered in blood. He realized his ears were ringing, and suddenly the ambassador slumped against him, missing part of his face as a 6.5x70mm round had taken it's course, luckily missing the general entirely. As security closed in around him, he felt the same anger that he had the previous night. He picked up the ambassador, before barking at the security officials to escort him back to his helicopter.

"Have you heard what's going on?" snapped Lee as he walked across the bridge while looking at some maps of the local area while Rathma and his squad arrived on the bridge.

"Yep, tons of Grealian Police and Marines partolling the local city while we took a stroll," replied Rathma.

"Rathma," shouted Lee as he show anger. "We just reports that there's being a heavy riot near Yanitaria sector which ended with Yanitaria Forces firing into the riot," stated Lee firmly as a familiar face entered the room. "Just a few moments ago, there was an assassination attempt that happened on live television," Lee pointed to a TV screen that showed a Yanitaria being shot and a second, which seemed to be the general, was being rushed off. "I've being instructed to take onboard a platoon of Shadow Assassin's to make sure nothing like that happens to us,"

Rathma glanced across the room a couple of times before noticing two figures he recongised from the old days. One was a man named Revan and the other Zhou Yu. They were both trained by the Gurkha's as an exchange program between Nepel and the Vamperial Kingdom. It meant that the Vamperial Order were serious about the recent events.

"The others are inbound," smiled Revan as his smile sent a chill down Rathma's spine.

"So what security measure's are we taking?" Longshanks asked Lee as a pair of wolverine's passed through the bridge.

"I've being forced to set up partols, reinforce the barricades and issue standard military arms and uniforms to our boys," stated Lee as he turned to Revan. "Revan, you'll serve better to me if you and Rathma will look out for my...." Lee suddenly stopped. "...if you two can look out for my younger brother Matt," he added slowly realising Matt was the last bit of family he had left.

"Don't worry about him," replied Revan. "I'm sure he'll be safe," he added as he and Rathma headed towards the dockyards in search of Matthew King.
