Xultan News Announcement

After a long civil war, the democratic leader, Jake Worthington has been executed in the streets of Xult and the Nikitin Dynasty has retaken the throne. Supreme Chancellor Oscar Nikitin is the new leader of Xult.

Originally, Nikitin's older brother, Ivan Nikitin, had ruled the land but after a conflict with the world at large for founding an organization called SCAR, Ivan Nikitin lost power and fled into hiding. There was an immediate rush for power between fascist leader Czar Dominic Granger, Nikitin's former minister of foreign affairs and brother Oscar Nikitin, and democratic rebel Jake Worthington. A bloody civil war broke out and before long, Granger and his fascists fled into nearby countries to create regimes there. Worthington promised a fight to the death and that is what he got. He and number of other democratic rebels were executed in the streets as a sign that Nikitin had finally taken power. It is rumored that the leader of the democratic militia, General Sylvester Mercado, has escaped capture and gone into hiding as a refugee in a nearby nation.

Supreme Chancellor Nikitin has stated that his first act as dictator will be to, "...construct an army of enormous proportion to prevent another civil war." He belives that this should be the top priority.

The Office of the Supreme Chancellor is open to statements and congradulations from the world at large.

However, we believe that this brave contact to the free world is a sign that SCAR is growing stronger and that, through Xult's new military, may gain arms as well. We join in your prayer that Xult may not experiment with nuclear weapons, though we fear that designs from the Soviet System may have slipped into Ivan's hands during the Confrontation with SCAR when the SS threatened my nation with a nuclear missile. However, it seems unlikely that SCAR is funded well enough to pursue a project at this point.
In the meantime, our Prime Minister is planning an international meeting of nations interested in joining an alliance for the purpose of maintaining surveillance on SCAR activities to prevent loss of life and terror attacks. How would your nation stand on this issue?

We are over four times your size, with a history lasting for over a thousand years. We have already established ourselves as a strong military and economic power. What you do to a nation such as Xult is of no concern. Nor should it be of a concern to them either. With thousands of nations in the world, what is one more embargo? We don't know of any of Xult's past, however this is a new government, and thus should be treated as such. So long as they keep their noses clean, we will be viewing embargoes against them as a means of aggression. Only current actions can define the current government. Hierphil has already suffered through a bloody war with Xult and SCAR ultimately leading to the near destruction of our capitol city. We are war weary and tired of SCAR and Xult and we are unwilling to enter another war unless we are forced to.
That being said, we firmly believe that both Xult and SCAR need to be monitored strictly which is why my office is planning to form a sort of alliance responsible for monitoring SCAR and Xult. Unlike in the previous war, SCAR is now considered a terrorist organization and therefore we have the full backing of international law.
