PRIME MINISTER & PARLIMENT CLASH IN BATTLE OF POWER

During a common session of Parliment tuesday, Speaker of Parliment Steven Rockwood reported on the economic deficit. Rockwood announced that, as a whole, Parliment is torn on what to do with the economy.

Rockwood announced at the end of his report, "As a postscript, I would like to announce that many of the Lords in this Parliment have repeated what many of the citizens are saying. They agree that, according to Hierphilian records, all issues of the government were much better handled under the monarchy that ruled the land from the medieval ages through the end of the 1600s. Many Lords are seriously considering appointing a king to refound the Throne of Hierphil, once occupied by King Jawack the Great. And I must agree with the majority in saying that you, Mr. Prime Minister, would be an excellent candidate for the throne!"

The Office of the Prime Minister responded publically saying, "Although the Prime Minister is greatly flattered by the Speaker's proposition, he is adamant in maintaining a democracy and believes that with time, this economic struggle will come to pass."

Prime Minister Remus York is expected to call an emergency meeting of Parliment within the next week. The meeting would summon the Chancellor (acting leader) of each province as well as Parliment, the Seven High Judges, and each of the Ministers from the Throne Branch (advisors to the Prime Minister).

Are there any nations wishing to send delegates to the emergency meeting and would like to be notified when the meeting takes place?

OOC: Absolutely just contact my nation properly IC and expect that emergency session of Parliment to be held sometime this week (sorry RL prevents me from giving you a set time/date). For economic ties, contact Minister of Foreign Affairs Richard Way and to support the switch to a monarchy you should probably contact Chancellor Ian Yew (of St. Dominics Province) who is leading the push for a monarchy. Thanks.

The Democratic Republic of Comorostan believes that the people should ahve the final say in their government. If the people of Hierphil desire a monarchy, then that is what they should get. We would like to offer our support in the form of an economic aid package.

Economic relations between our nations would be quite acceptable. As our recession is not yet classified as a depression, we will accept economic aid ranging up to and including $5,000,000 USD at this time. Again, your generosity is appreciated. Hierphil is also interested in treaties as well.

Kind regards,
Lucas Williams, Minister of Ministries
