Subject: Urgent: Uranium Stocks Extremely Low, Need Emergency Supplier

A national emergency for Belkaland has accured, the uranium stocks that power Belkaland's 200+ power generating nuclear reactors has finally been exhausted. Within 5 years, all nuclear power plants will be forced to shut down.

Due to ecological laws, fossil fuel-powered power plants are illegal in all but 1 sector. The alterative power sources like wind & solar can only support 12% of Belkaland's power needs. With Hydro-electrical dams, they can't support anymore than what they already support due to a lack of damable areas as Belkaland is mainly flat grasslands & forests. Geo-Thermal is like hydro-electrical, we only have one area that is economically & technically feasible, the Feuern Sie Berg volcanic field.

So the only way for Belkaland to continue producing enough power for the 1,212,000,000 Belkalandians within our border is to aquire a steady supply of uranium. However, this does not mean we will trade with nation of the likes of Serbian Soviet Union. We will not use uranium that was likely to be used to build world-destroying nuclear bombs.

In return for a steady supply of uranium, we can provide a steady supply of lumber, grain, & oil or any mix of the 3. Also, the nation that provides the uranium will have their status to Belkaland raised to Favored and will qualify for 1 of the remaining 8 embassy slots in the Belkalandian Royal City of Stier.

So we ask of the world to please help Belkaland in the time of national emergency.

Sincerly,
Razgriz H. Demon

To George Hammond,

How much uranium do you need? I am sure we can work out a deal for some, if not all of your uranium needs. In exchange, we request lumber and grain. The exchange of course, can be worked out, once we know how much you are interested in acquiring. We would prefer if this transaction remained as simple, and currency free as possible.

As each reactor requires per day half a pound of uranium and we possess 204 Nuclear Reactors, we would require 36500Ibs of refined uranium. And with Belkalandian refinning, it'll take 5 pounds of uranium ore to produce a pound of fissionable uranium. So Belkaland would require 182,500Ibs(91.25 Tons) of Uranium Ore.

In return we can supply 10,000,000 tons of grain and 500,000 tons of lumber. Please do not assume this is our final offer, but what we can do immedately with minimium changes to Belkaland's industries.

To Razgriz H. Demon,

We can supply a total of 32,250 lbs of refined Uranium. Now, we propose, the agreement, the supply of Uranium would be equal to four times one third the amount of grain, minus six times one fifth the amount of lumber, up to, and not exceding five sixths the total amoung of both grain, and lumber. Would this be acceptable?

As our Uranium mining sector is being built up as we speak, it makes sense that we should try to foster its growth. Within the month I can supply you with all required uranium ore.

We practice and abide by strict laws regarding non-nuclear proliferation, and will not sell this uranium to be enriched as weapons grade. However, a small portion may eventually end up in our own nuclear program, we can assure you these possible weapons are simply defensive measures. Our military can provide the adequete and safe transportation of said material also.

Uranium mining just so happens to be our second (or is it third?) most prosperous industry. Although our refining abilities our limited, we have large stores of uranium ready for shipment.

Also, once our HTS-02s come in, we'll be able to ship you about 50,000lbs of of ore per day, per transport, plus that being delivered by Beatusian shipping lanes.

Additionally, we should have our refining capabilities quite up to speed within a short while, and we'll gladly refine your uranium before shipment.

We are a quite self-sufficient nation, although we're lacking in lumber and most fossil fuels. The latter is less important, as we're equipping our naval forces with nuclear reactors and most of our civilian and military vehicles are being converted to hydrogen and synthetics.

Hm, we could work a trade of lumber and hydrogen, perhaps? Our aircraft could possibly offload their refined uranium at your airports and on load water and wood. Beyond that, we can't think of much. We have hydroponics and cloning to supply food and our nation is relatively well off with a large base in heavy industry.

The only things that we may have a dwindling supply of is limestone. Hm, refined uranium for limestone, wood and water?

Unfortunetly, Belkaland does not have many limestone deposits. And what little we have is used in the construction of buidlings. As for the water, we possess a few freshwater rivers but our water source is primarily desalinated water from the Nord Bay. We do possess advanced desalination facilities, if you are willing to accept it as payment, we can provide the plans to build one. It has the capacity to desalinize up to 35 million gallons of water per day.

As for lumber, it is one of Belkaland's top 5 exports. So there's no problem with lumber as payment.

We accept. We'll begin exporting the uranium once our aircraft arrive, as we lack a large coastline. What little we have is devoted to our naval forces and fishing industry.

Enough of our silly rambling. Can these desalinization plants be connected to the sea via underground piping? We surely hope so, as we literally lack the available coastline to build one due to our Navy's high maintenance costs

With the national crisis averted with the assistance of JP&E and The United Socialist States of the Techno-Soviet, Belkaland is no longer under threat of losing power. However, most of this uranium is being used and very little is being place in storage. Thus making it where if either JP&E or The United Socialist States of the Techno-Soviet withdraw their support, Belkaland will once again be under threat of losing power.

So the Principality of Belkaland once more seeks trade to help fill our stocks of uranium. As with our inital call for help, we will not accept any uranium from nations of the likes of FSSU. Our offer is still Lumber, Grain, & Oil, but the raising of status to favored has been removed.

With a yearly output of 41,279 metric tons +/- a few thousand metric tons, our nation is more then capable of supplying your nation with an almost unlimited quality of uranium for your use. While, only half of that yearly output is guaranteed due to our ongoing use of the element. The rest would be made available on a first come first serve basis. Subject: Uranium Trade

With the current trade the Principality of Belkaland has with JE&P and The United Socialist States of the Techno-Soviet, we have met the quota needed to run our reactors. However, it is always a good idea to make sure you have a fall back.

Before we start, we would like to know if United Earthlings Military Systems has informed you of a deal we're attempting to negociate. If so, we would like to take this negociation to a more secure setting. If not, then we shall proceed normally.

Signed,
Razgriz H. Demon
George Hammond

OCC: Some wheat sounds good, feeding over 9+ billion people takes a lot of food. BTW, UEMS is not involved in any way with the deal your attempting to negotiate nor with the one in this thread. Both are being handle [will be handled] through the government agencies that are part of our Department of Commerce and Energy.

IC: I'm currently aware of no dealings you have with our main defense company, UEMS. However, I took the liberty of contacting them and they inform me that at the present time they are not involved in any dealings with either your nation nor any of it's companies. I don't know who you were discussing a possible deal with, but it would seem it wasn't who you thought it was. If, you like I can look into to see who in my administration was speaking on my behalf. Until then, I'm ready to proceed on furthering our talks in whatever manner you deem best.

Sincerely, Chancellor Muller
