The nation of Kraveska is very proud of its history, and uncovering artifacts that tell us more of our history is important to us. We understand that this view may be shared by other nations. You can share this knowledge with other nations by joining the Archaeologists league. This organization is a group of countries that are all interested in Archeaology that get together to share their archeaological finds, perform archeaological digs in countries that are members of the league, and selling your artifacts if you wish. This league does not count as a seperate alliance, so if you are a member of an alliance, you can stll join.
-You MAY NOT use the league as a means to commit hostile acts against another member, or any other country.
-You MAY sell artifacts found in your country, but that is the only thing you can sell at meetings of the archeaologists league.
You can share your finds in this thread, or create your own thread.
-It would be a good idea to say something about the artifacts, such as their history, their purpose, or where they were found.
-There is no payment necessary to join the league.
-You may make a request to dig for artifacts in a member country, but you may only do so with the express permission of that country's government, and you must obey all the laws of the country you are digging in.

Your request has been accepted. Welcome to the archaeologists league!
our nation has recently scavenged the ruins of Attina, the aerchaeologists found a 10 metres high golden statue of an ancient godess worshiped by the Bakra long ago. the godess (azura) was known as the godess of the colors of the sky. the temples were always built in the colors of the sky to worship Azura's color. this ruins in wich the statue was found also contained a 1 metre long sword known as Haynekthamet, Haynekthamet was said to be a divine sword created in the Forgery of Azura, it was said that with the swingo of that sword she created the color of the sky. this sword will be sold for a price of 5 million Radul (4.5 million dollar)

The Republic of Amalius would like to request member ship in the league. Our country has a long and interesting history, and we are very proud of our Museum of History that stands in our country's capitol.
We'd enjoy the chance to share our history and artifacts, as well as examine the history and artifacts of other nations.

Your request has been accepted. We welcome you to the League.
Also, I neglected to mention that you can loan artifacts to nations, you don't have to sell them. They can borrow it for awhile, perhaps for a temporary museum exhibit, and then it is returned to the original country.
And lastly, a small burial ground was uncovered in Kraveka. Inside were found 40 bodies. The burial ground is believed to have been created by paleolithic humans that once lived in Kraveska.

MESSAGE TO THE ARCHEAOLOGISTS LEAGUE
Today in the nation of Kraveska, an almost completely intact fossilized skeleton of the extinct Mugai Fish was found.
This is the first time anything close to a full skeleton of this creature has been found. In the past, only bits and peices have been found. The skeleton is about 48 feet long.
The nation of Jalanat is still fully investigating the Attina ruins. one of our aercheologists has found a secret passage hidden behind the great statue of Azura, it seems to lead to a secret temple, possibly from an ancient worshipping Cult. due to the architecture this appears to be a cult dedicated to the god Hilano, she appears as the Half Sister of Azura and she was responsible for taking away the skies color every night. she was mostly hated by the ancient civilization, however some adored her for giving the stars and the moon. some people believed that the stars and moon were places that Hilano touched, therefore she was known as the goddess of feeling to some. but known in general as the goddess of thievery. most people worshipping Hilano have been persecuted by the temple so their worshipping was always done in secrecy.
The Republic of Amalius has discovered and is currently excavating ruins in the lower regions of our country, where a great river used to be located. We have found an ancient temple, probably used by the Palindrims over 400 years ago.
In the temple, we have discovered statues dedicated to the Goddess Ismen, as well as pottery and old coins. This is an exciting find, as it proves Palindrims have as long a history as the humans in Amalius.
Nearby, we discovered a more recent temple, from 100 years ago, dedicated to the Goddess Amalia, whom our nation is named for, as well as remains from the Great War.
the aercheologists have made a shocking discovery, a chamber with at least 120 corpses in it, possibly offerings to the goddess. Aercheologists carrying advanced equipment used electro magnetic field detectors and realized it was much higher than outside of the room, this would indicate that there was a ghost around, the aercheologists will procede with caution trying not to disturb the dead.

RE: The Archaeologists’ League
To whom it may concern,
I have to wonder when any archeology is getting done in your league. As it seems at the moment, the Archaeologists’ League is really at best a newswire for the breaking news of discoveries. Discovery is exciting, I know that first hand, but discoveries are not the end or the most important part of an archeological investigation. Where is the analysis of the finds? Where is the realization of what effect this discovery has upon the archaeological and historical record? Archaeology is not all field work, as much as I wish it could be. I’m sure you’ve heard the old rule of thumb: “For every hour in the field you’re going to spend seven in the lab.”
That is my best hope...my worst is that the other facet of your league. It has quickly become a clearinghouse for artifacts. Jehovah and Mira both! The idea that you would allow or encourage members to sell historically significant, no historically essential artifacts is reprehensible. I have no qualms or argument with responsible, ethical commercial archaeologists who might sell the odd trinket, coin, bottle, or plate but after they have saved a representative sample of that artifact type.
The artifact so known as Haynekthamet should not have been sold at least without the protest of the Archaeologists’ League. By the accounts of the Jalanati government, the artifact had high cultural and religious significance. While the government of Jalanat may not hold it dear, I would hope that its people cared one snippet for the idea that their cultural heritage is now residing in a foreign museum.
More over, the idea that you would allow and leave open member countries to sell whole heritage sites to other countries is mind-boggling.
Lastly, I am shocked to have to question your devotion to the field of archaeology. Electromagnetic Field Detectors? Ghosts? That is not quantified and confirmed science. While archaeologists must do their utmost to respect the sanctity of burial sites, we cannot base any conclusion on pseudoscience. And then fossilized fish? Does it have signs that humans interacted with the fish? Butchery tool marks? Human Remains in the probable area of its intestinal tract? Otherwise, why aren’t your paleontologists being the ones excited?
One of my graduate assistants has something to say on the subject…Archaeologists don't dig dinosaurs.

GO Vornskrs!
[OOC: Y'all, I'm fascinated with ghosts and paleonotology as much as the next guy. And treasure is sure an attractor for the public to the idea of archaeology...but none of this is REAL archaeology. It is a long, slow, unexciting science bent on discovering facts to better interpret the archaeological record. You spend most of your time in the reference shelves of the library or deep in a musty archive or up to your elbows in a dirty pan of water cleaning rocks with a toothbrush. I'm lucky I enjoy all of that.]

Well, to answer one of your points, It is called the Archeaologists league, but we also include paleontology. And it is not neccassary to sell your artifacts, you only do so if you so wish.
Our aercheologists have found another artefact while excavating the hidden room at Attina, an old helmet, possibly owned by a soldier from the Attina Era (3000 years ago) the helmet seemed to be different from the other helms found during excavations so we presume this might have been the helmet of a warlord. we are willing to sell this helmet to the highest bidder starting at a price of 1.5 million USD.
