Can you do something in ceramic that looks and feels like a real coconut shell but can be washed and reused indefinitely? It should also be as shatterproof as possible. We have a huge demand for such an item, for those fruity drinks that the tourists like.

Also, do you know where we can get a reliable, cheap supplier for those little paper umbrellas?

To H.K. Nadolman,

Well, we could produce a basic coconut shell type design, however, do not believe that we can recreate the feel of the outside of a coconut. What we would suggest, however, is that you order something in the general shape, and size from use, with a realist looking interior, and then use some kind of washable, fabric cover, to simulate the feel of the coconut. If that would be acceptable, than we can begin work immediately. As for the little plastic umbrellas, we recommend James Decorative Drink Accessories.

To Edward Perlman,

You want us to take glass from a nuclear test site, and make a statue out of it, correct? Would you like the statue to be transparent, opaque, colored, iridescent under a black light? Not to worry, our artisans have NBC gear, and have no qualms against working near radio active material. We take great pride, in the fact that not one of our artisans have died from radiation poisoning, or Uranium related illnesses.

Thank you for your prompt reply. We already have a source for coconut-style inserts. However, they are not popular because of the two seperate cleaning processes required. If you are interested in experimenting with the one-piece system, we might be able to get some development funding from the Commerce Ministry and/or the Tourism Ministry.

To V.I. Nadoolman,

While we would be willing to work on such a design, we are not a fabric company, and haven't the experience in designing fabrics for such things. If you could find a fabric designer willing to work with us, we would be more than happy to help.

As I said before, we are not interested in a two-piece design with a fabric cover. We are interested in a one-piece design which looks and feels like a real coconut. We have been in touch with the Ministry of Tourism and they are willing to provide a Product Development Grant, if you are interested.

We can't guarantee anything, as long as you understand that, we are willing to take your grant, and do research into your realistic ceramic coconut. How much would this grant be?

The Ministry has provided us with 20,000 USD for a feasibility study and/or pilot project. This would go toward experimenting with the desired textures and, if possible, researching any manufacturing methods required for the new design. If the results are satisfactory, additional funding would be available for the development of specific manufacturing procedures.

It should also be mentioned that neither Nadoolman and Sons nor the Government of Fatatatutti will make any claim on any patentable processes developed by your company
