OOC: I have colonies everywhere. Unless East Congaree minds, I'll assume by 'going for my waters' he means going to Greater Prussia and not Haven. Haven houses the ancestral homeland of my people and my gameplay nation, but the capital is in Greater Prussia.

IC:
Greater Prussia

The East Congaree military had made a wise decision. The decided to strike back at the very capital of Allanea, hoping to distract them from the fight against GWO. And so, they deployed a fleet of five thousand ships to meet the Allaneans in their mainland waters. The United States replied swiftly and decisively. Shore defense batteries were activated, and ships put to sea – not just those belonging to Allanea proper, but also those manned by Confederate sailors. Therefore, ten Confederate Carrier Battlegroups (http://z15.invisionfree.com/Confederacy/index.php?showtopic=31) and ten Allanean strike cruiser squadrons were at sea, about ten miles south of the Allanean coast.

They did not attack, so far. Rather, they awaited the enemy navy to come into range.

Allanea has long held as a sacred duty the defense of Greater Prussian regional waters. Now, they would do that duty.

The flashing Greater Prussian Alert Console was old enough that it had a thin layer of dust covering it. In fact, the flashing warning light in the headquarters of the Pschycotian Royal Navy was at first attributed to a short circuit. A closer investigation by the officers found the light to be truthful:

WARNING: THREAT DETECTED

A quick diagnosis by patching into the Prussian surveillance system confirmed the approach of a large naval force. Within another few minutes, a general alert was broadcast across the naval base and a full, detailed report sent out to Queen Cristiel St. Richards. Her orders, however, were fully anticipated, and Grande Admiral Marie Sumeragi had 4 full stand-by squadrons pulling out of their slips and past the breakwaters. The Pschycotian force would be vastly outnumbered, but the squadrons' core was formed by the navy's powerful dreadnaughts. Although nearly 50 years old, each was refitted as new technology rolled out. A total of 80 Zimmermann-Class dreadnaughts, complimented by 8 Arkhangel-Class battlecarriers, 160 Valor-Class Battlecruisers, 160 Lionfish-Class fast-attack submarines, and 200 Aegis-Class defense cruisers were dispatched on a direct intercept route, hoping to catch up with the fleet from East Congaree before they even had a chance to breach Prussian waters.

Ahead of the squadrons, the Pschycotian Targetting Array, an array of high powered surveillance satellites that provided real-time visual feed, began adjusting their orbits until they were over the projected combat zone.

It had only been ten years since the navy had been last used. Ironically, it was to defeat the Pschycotian Coast Guard. Now, even the ships themselves seemed to strain at the bits to attack a foreign power.

OOC: I assume you mean "Greater Prussia" as in what "Prussia" meant in the German empire, encompassing most of the land possessed by Germany at that time.

Off the Coast of Maine, GWO

East Congaree ships had hugged the coast of the GWO before making their move across the Atlantic. They would head to the GWO's Gold Coast in Africa to refuel, then hug the African coast before heading up to the Baltic Sea, where they aimed to cause havoc in the waters outside of East Prussia.

Umm Qasr, Dominion of Mesopotamia

The dominion's navy, consisting of two gunboats, four osa class missile boats, and twelve Jianghu-I class frigates patrolled the Persian gulf and the mouth of the Euphrates river. Knowing that the capture of the dominion's oil would be devastating to the empire, they would hold onto it to the last man.

Across the Confederate Empire

The same could be seen all across the empire. East Congaree ships patrolled the Gulf of California, Gulf and Atlantic coasts, the Red Sea that was effectively the lake of Mecca State, along with the coasts around Guangdong, and the territories of Hong Kong and Macau in China. Liaodong State and Shandong state patrolled the Bohai gulf with all the resources they had, but they would surely be helped by the GWO fleet based out of Tianjin, the capital of Iodine Province, if an invasion was attempted. Whatever of Amur-Ussuri state that wasn't iced out was patrolled, along with river monitors patrolling the Black Dragon (Amur) River. Estado Centro didn't have much of a navy, but East Congaree had some ships there to protect it. If Estado Centro fell, so would the massive canal that went through it, linking the Atlantic and Pacific.

As the GWO shores were already monitored by Allanean satellites passing every several hours, it was not difficult to deduce that the large Congarese navy was a threat to the United States.

As the enemy ships entered a range of about 6,000 kilometers from Greater Prussia, it was the time for the Allaneans to make their first strike. From Fort-Steel, on the south coast of the nation, one hundred B-22 aircraft took off, flying towards the enemy, escorted by AWACS planes and B-22J jammer planes. Once they entered a range of 1500 kilometers of the enemy, it was time for them to fire their weapons – simple, cheap, subsonic TASMs (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=530912) - simply put, Tomahawk missile with anti-ship seeker warheads. They cost approximately $600,000 each, and the Allanean planes had been carrying 120 of them each. They were divided very simply – 10,000 missiles were targeted at the enemy's Kirov missile cruisers, the most menacing ships of the enemy fleet. 2,000 more were fired at the large transport ships that were escorted by them. The Allaneans were quite certain these hosted a landing force, and a landing force could never be permitted into Greater Prussia.

Yes, the attack was ridiculous in its overkill and expense– but, hopefully, the Allaneans would only need to do that once. After all, the Kirovs could not be expected to fight off a strike of 100 missiles per aircraft.

OOC: My nation is in relation to the RL world. East Congaree encompasses The Southern United States, (MD, DE, WV, KY, MO, VA, TN, AR, OK, NC, TX, GA, MS, AL, FL, SC, LA, AZ, NM), Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Sonora, Nuevo Leon, Coahuila, Baja California, Baja California del Sur, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Trinidad. Macau and Hong Kong are unicorporated territories, along with Guangzhou. East Congaree has a de facto exclusive economic sphere in Southern China, but it isn't the official state governing the area. Overseas dominions, colonies, and protectorates are not included in this list of land I gave, that's just East Congaree. If you could show me where EC is in relation to Greater Prussia, i'd appreciate it.

Off the coast of Portland, Maine, GWO

The Kirov class battlecruisers were easily sunk. The transport ships, along with their Osa class missle boats in their cargo were easily sunk.

OOC: You would be incorrect, then. The Greater Prussian supercontinent is not matched with any RL geographical location.

Prussian Naval Command, Leipzig Island, Greater Prussian Sea

There hasn't been much activity with the Prussian Navy since the disappearence of Xavier II, but it was well kept, and always in top shape.

So when East Congaree decided it would be a good idea to move ships into Prussian waters, Leipzig Island fired up to full alert and began mobilizing the fleets in the water.

However, in order to better coordinate a defense, command of the Prussian fleet went to Grand Admiral Marie Sumeragi, back into Pschycotian hands, where it had rested for so long. Naturally, all Prussian fleets would have access to the SOSUS and RADAR networks that make it neigh impossible to send a plane or ship anywhere near Prussian waters without being detected and its position mapped out.

Prussian soil is sacred, and no foreign devil shall ever set foot on it and live.

OOC: As far as I understand from what GWO told me, Iron Province is approx. 8000 klicks south of us. How that works I don't care or know.

IC:

The Allaneans simply waited for their enemy to proceed towards them. The next phase of the plan could not be enacted until the enemy left GWO waters and closed in to a range of at least 4,000 kilometers.

Guaymas, Sonora, East Congaree

"Gwine de-troy it!" a negro red rebel screamed as he set fire to 4 Osa class missile boats and 12 Jianghu-I class frigates in Guaymas harbor. They blew up shortly after, destroyinig docks and several other ships, and ultimately killing the rebel. Regardless, the Pacific fleet couldn't dock in its home port for awhile.

"Looks like we've got more trouble than we anticipated", said Reginald Deere, studying a map of the GWO's Iodine Province. "There's niggers bursting up everywhere the second we attempt to begin a foreign war. They're focusing on our distraction, an advantage they haven't had for years." "Yeah, that's true." noted Michael Thurmond, the grandson of the prestigious South Carolina senator and later EC president. Before letting him go any further in his conversation, Reginald said, "I don't want this going any further, Admiral. We're not going to let the Allaneans ship any arms to our niggers, and you know how? We're going to destroy their navy before we can do it, and i'm putting you in field command for it."

Red Sea, Mecca State, East Congaree

East Congaree was pulling out all but a skeleton of its Red Sea fleet protecting Mecca State, leaving Mesopotamia also unprotected. The Red Sea fleet was one of the largest, and it kept Mecca State's waters more than safe from insurgents or foreign forces. They hoped this attack, a seperate task force, would put a large dent in the Allanean navy. The Operation was named Albany, after a town in Georgia.

Task Force Albany

-1 Kiev Class Aircraft Carrier

-1600 Jianghu-I Class Frigates

- 800 Kashin Class Destroyers

-200 Sovremenny Class Destroyers

-20 Kirav Class battlecruisers

-1200 Whiskey Class Submarines

-50 empty transport ships, essentially meatshields, and a way to trick the enemy. Four concealed Styx missile launchers and four concealed primitive SAM launchers.

Proceeding with all speed possible from the ships' MHD drives, the Pschycotian fleet quickly closed the distance and placed itself between the Allaneans and the Congareean fleet, forming a barrier roughly 5000 kilometers in front of the Allaneans. The Congareean fleet had already been battered by the Allanean bomber attack, but the Pschycotian fleet would finish it before it got any further. As a gesture of honor, the fleet's commander issued a final warning.

East Congareean fleet, you are on a direct course for Greater Prussian waters with hostile intent. Turn your ships about and leave this area or you will be destroyed. Acknowledge, over.

The commander waited for a reply as his fleet set up a defensive line, with the cruisers bearing most of the CIWS systems taking forward, broadside positions, shielding the capital ships which were like-wise forming up broadside. It would expose greater areas of the ships to damage, but it also gave the largest number of their 30" railcannons a clear shot. On the Arkhangels' twin flight decks, modified F-14J all-purpose fighters were rolled out to standby positions on the catapults with further modified Phoenix ATA missiles strapped to the hardpoints.

Some time later

Even as the enemy's primary fleet closed in kilometers, the Allanean BA-104B (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=452252) advanced bombers came in to do their jobs. They flew at an altitude of 22 kilometers, above the range of most SAMs. As they closed in on their targets, each of them deployed a set of decoys – shaped to look like attractive, and very noticeable B-52 aircraft, as opposed to the near-invisible RADAR signatures of the bomber itself.

There was a large team of bombers – about 200 – and their operation was much simpler and cheaper. Instead of cruise missiles, they dropped out 336 500-pound Mk82 bomb each. Half of these were regular high-explosive bombs, and the other half were thermite bombs, initiating steel-vaporizing fires anywhere they hit. Obviously, with unguided bombs, some of them would miss – but statistics say that 50% of unguided bombs fall within 350 feet of the point of aim, and 5% establish direct hits. With 33,600 bombs and targets far larger than 350 feet, the lives of the Congaree crew were about to become... very entertaining.

The Kashin and Sovremenny class destroyers were the sole target of the attack. Each of them got targeted with about sixty bombs.

Every destroyer and frigate within range shot at the bombers they could see or pick up on radar with their SAMs. Not long after the bombs were dropped, all of the destroyers found a new, cold, desolate, and muddy home on the sea floor. The frigates continued hammering away, along with every other surface ship in range. The submarines advanced beyond the surface ships in the task force, aiming to get closer to Allanean waters.

"So be it," the commander muttered as he received The Congareean reply. "Fire control, do we have a solution?"

"Aye sir. Range one-eight-zero miles and closing. Bearing two-seven-zero."

"Thank you." He picked up a microphone and addressed the entire fleet. "At this time, all ships can consider themselves weapons-free. Pick your targets and fire at will." Replacing the receiver, he turned back to fire-control. "Go ahead. All batteries are clear. Alert at range one-five-zero for missile attacks."

The ship hummed briefly as all electrical power was rerouted to the Zimmermann's 18 main 30" railcannons. The hum was replaced with a cataclysm of noise as shells began firing, blasts of hot air following them to clear the barrels, the ship shuddering from the recoil. Across the fleet, each of the capital ships' batteries opened up until the air was thick with 30" steel shells, all streaking toward the Congareean fleet at over ten times the speed of sound.

In an extra attempt at fleet defense, the carriers dispatched their ASW helicopters. The choppers flew low under the out-going fire until they were far ahead of the fleet. There they began dropping sonar buoys and waited with torpedoes slung underneath them, waiting for any sign of submarines.

Nearing Greater Prussian Waters

Rafael Trujillo III was on a submarine steaming towards Allanea. However, he was paying attention to what was happening above, and ordered all the frigates to fire off their anti-ship missiles at hostile fleets, and then attempt to approach to get within range to fire their machine guns and shells, no matter what fire they took. The submarines would attempt to advance past the enemy ships, and fled from the battle scene to go around and swing into the enemy ships' rear.

Now, the enemy had only one surface weapon left – the Jianghu-I frigates, with a 37mm cannon as their only anti-air weapon. The Allaneans now moved in for a final finishing move. They knew that no 37mm cannon made by man could reach to an altitude of seventeen kilometers – and so they calmly sent in a fleet of 100 B-22 bombers, each carrying 750 of the simplest, non-guided, 500-pound Mk-82 bombs. The total firepower of the attack would combine to 75,000 bombs. It would cost the taxpayer slightly over 18 million dollars. And every enemy surface vessel of the first fleet would be targeted by 41 bombs.

OOC: Thirty inch guns? Ok, I guess.... Must be a giant ship. I am assuming your fleet is in range to be hit by our anti-ship missiles, if you can fire shells at us.

OOC: Thirty inches is rather large. Running the math, the dreadnoughts are roughly three times the size of an American Iowa. Anti-shipping missiles generally have a 150-200 mile max. range. With more physics, a railgun could potentially hit at ranges of 300 miles or more, depending on size. I decided upon having a 200 max. range due to size limitations and power allotment. Also for fairness' sake.

This is what I do with all my knowledge from physics class....my teachers would be so proud

============================================

The bridge of the commander's Zimmermann descended into chaos as multiple warning horns went off alerting the crew to the detected missile launches. The commander's response was well rehearsed and flawlessly executed.

"Load port-side launchers with anti-missile missiles and target those incoming. Activate CIWS and fire when in range. Contact the carriers, get their air-wings up. Close of the bridge."

The main bridge began lowering itself down and back into the ship's superstructure as the missile tubes switched out ammunition and got a lock on the incoming anti-shipping missiles. As soon as they were ready, the missiles sprang out from their launchers, leaving white trails behind them. Ahead of the fleet, the sky began lighting up as missile met missile in midair. Moments later, the CIWS cruisers became active, their 30mm automatic guns throwing up a wall of steel and tracers, causing a blanket of explosions ahead of the fleet.

But the defenses couldn't handle all of the attacks.

Several of the Aegis cruisers went up in massive explosions, and even some of the capital ships began taking some damage.

OOC: I forgot to mention, our Jianghu-Is are updated, but not with much more than a simple, awfully primitive SAM.

Nearing Greater Prussian Waters

The frigate crewmen knew they were doomed, so they supposed the most constructive way to die was to fire off all the anti-ship missiles they could, then face their demise. That's just what they did, firing off what SAM's they could at the bombers, although they were well out of range, and then firing off their anti-ship missiles at enemy ships. In seconds, they all began to sink in pieces. The order for the submarines was simple: fire off most of your torpedoes, then retreat.

The Allaneans had a problem now. They had destroyed the enemy surface fleet, but they had nothing in range to help the Psychotic Psychos deal with the submarine threat. As such, B-22s were sent out once more, to patrol for enemy submarines. In Greater Prussian waters proper, helicopters and P6M Seamasters were used to do the same.

As 100 B-22s were sent, they carried hundreds of 500-kilogram depth charges – twenty thousand, actually – slightly more sophisticated then the bombs earlier used, concrete-hulled and incredibly cheap. Whenever an enemy submarine was detected, several dozen charges would be dropped on its location. Obviously, the Allaneans could not kill off all the enemy submarines, but they could at least help their allies.

And if something made it past the Psychotic fleets and close to the Allanean shore, the Greater Prussian sonar buoy sensor would easily notice the (very loud) diesel subs. Exended-range ASROC missiles would be then launched at them -though the Allaneans never expected it to get this far.

Charleston, East Congaree

"We're going to temporarily move the capital to Nashville.", Reginald Deere said to himself. He was going to suck up most of the fleet out of the Carribean and gulf, let them go up the Missisippi River, then the Ohio, then the Cumberland, and park themselves outside Nashville. Most of the airforce from the western areas of East Congaree was being pulled into Tennessee, Missisppi, and Alabama to defend the airspace around Nashville. airforce groups from Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, and Deleware stayed put, along with those in the Deep South states. All ground units were being relocated to Missisippi, Alabama, Virginia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennesse, Arkansas, and Louisiana, leaving the city in a protective membrane of many states. The Atlantic Fleet and the Charleston Defense fleet would lay untouched, but the entire Atlantic Fleet was being relocated to the Gulf, while the Charleston defense fleet would assume defense of the entire Atlantic Coast. Shore defenses stayed in place along the coast, and were manned as they were before. Charleston was just too dangerous of a place for the government and Freedom Party officials to stay while a war was going on.

Approaching the Psychotican Fleet

Bomber planes whizzed above. They had killed a fair two hundred and fifty submarines. The submarines weren't foolish enough to surface and fire their AA guns, they proceeded forward to get within range of the Psychotican fleet. When they did, hundreds of torpedoes would streak towards the enemy fleet.

Congaree River, South Carolina

A negro red spy noticed the forces pulling out from Charleston to further inland areas of the Carolinas and Virginia. "De buckra pull out from Chareesteen!", he scramed over the radio. With that, hundreds of reds ran for Charleston. If they were lucky, they could destroy the coastal defenses and government buildings in the city, and ultimately provide a friendly coast for the Alleneans to land, if they did plan to invade East Congaree.

Now, it was time for an Allanean counterstrike. It was simple in its progression – composed of 100 B-52s and their AWACS escort. Yet again, they flew out to attack the enemy with the same TASMs that had worked for them before, at a range of 500 kilometers – though now, only 10,150 missiles would be launched, to save taxpayer money. They were divided simply – 100 were targeted at the enemy carrier, and fifty – at each of the enemy transports. Finally, the remaining missiles were launched, divided evenly between the enemy destroyers and battlecruisers, at a rate of approximately nine missiles per target.

The next horns on the bridge signaled the identification of incoming submarines. Again, the commander acted with calm.

"All ahead, flank. Port-side turn, zero-nine-zero degrees. Have the Aegis cruisers fire their forward torpedo tubes."

The MHD drives on the massive ships kicked into gear, drawing power away from the railcannons. The result was a large acceleration of the ships as the turned into the approaching submarines. It was clearly a defensive maneuver, reducing the target size while decreasing available offensive weapons. the Aegis defense cruisers offered a little cover with their forward facing tubes, which fired as the Congareean subs approached. From above, the ASW helicopters that were patrolling began to release their torpedoes towards the incoming targets.

The waters below were far from peaceful. The attachment of nuclear fast-attack submarines began rushing forward under their own MHDs' power. Using passive detection along with piggy-backing off the active ASW buoys on the surface, they located the incoming subs and launched their own torpedoes at them.

The Allaneans proceeded with the actions that had already brought them success – sending out about five hundred simple cargo planes laden with depth charges. Their job was to simply drop out depth charges by the dozens into any location where submarines had been detected. Each carried about twenty depth charges and could deal with about five submarines before it ran out of them – assuming success, which was never guaranteed.

Another message was sent to the government of East Congaree.

From the Allanean homeland, another force of strategic bombers took off, this time quite small – only about a hundred planes. Their job was simple – look for the enemy submarines, and, when located, strafe their location, dropping dozens of depth charges upon them. Based upon the previous experience, the Allaneans estimated the second submarine fleet to consist of about two thousand subs. As such, ten 500-kilo depth charges per suspected enemy submarines were allocated to be dropped. Hopefully they would find them all... though of course that wasn't very likely.

One bomber attacked ships patrolling outside the Guatemala canal with 300 Mk-82 bombs. The others flew towards New Orleans. There, they took advantage of their stealth and altitude to drop out more bombs – as a mattter of fact, they dropped out 16,800 of the cheap Mk-82 bombs, targeted at whatever ships were in harbor.

Simultaneously with that, another team of 100 B-22 bombers went out again – to attack surviving enemy submarines with depth charges, yet again. Hopefully they could weed some of them out before they hit the Psychotic armada.

OOC: I didn't respond to your bombers yet, sorry. Also, I assume that the bomber force with only depth charges was sent at the remnants of Task Force Albany.

Greater Prussian Waters

Bombers whizzed above. The submarines were wizely spread out, but eight hundred and fifty were still sunk. The remaining submarines surfaced, and began to prepare to launch their first set of missiles at Allanean air installations.

Outside the Guatemala Canal

Ships fired their SAM's upwards, and also contributed with AA fire. Even the submarines surfaced to give a try at the aircraft. All of the ships but two Osa class missile boats were sunk, but the anti-air fire should have done some damage.

South Louisiana Air Base, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, East Congaree

Reports of incoming enemy bombers were reported by East Congaree Intelligence reports. 200 MiG-29s were readied for takeoff, along with 80 MiG-21s. They would each carry two aphid air-air missiles.

New Orleans, Louisiana, East Congaree

Buk SAM batteries across the city belched up all the missiles they had. They were suppored by hundreds of 57mm and 12.7mm AA guns spread across the city and outlying areas. Further inland, even some T-55 and T-34 tanks had their machine guns pointed upwards, ready to take a lucky shot at a bomber. Some infantrymen followed by example with their Lee-Enfield bolt-action rifles. Any remaining bombers would be persued by aircraft being prepared for takeoff North of New Orleans. Damage to the harbor was done, however. Oil rigs, transporation barges full of goods, and warehouses were blown to smithereens. Fishing boats suffered heavy death tolls, along with civilians working in the docks. East Congaree would have attempted to strike back, but not Allanean territory was in range for the TU-16 and TU-22 bombers to strike. Luckily for the Gulf Fleet, they were all in the Cumberland or Missisippi rivers by now, well inland. Some of the Gulf Fleet's larger ships still stayed in the Gulf of Mexico, but they had just come out from refueling in Tampa Bay, and they patrolled the coast of Florida.

The Allanean bomber pilots deployed their usual countermeasures – a dozen decoys each, posing as a RADAR signature of a less-stealthy B-52 bombers to distract missiles fired from the Buk-1M launcher. Then, even though they knew that the MiG-29s could not hurt them – the MiG-29 had an upper ceiling of 18 kilometers, four kilometers below the Allanean bombers – they activated their last close-in defense system – their 30mm autocannon, designed solely to defend them against incoming missiles of the sort the Buk-1 SAM launchers were firing at them.

Several hours after they left, another strike was launched, comprised of a modest 52 bombers. Their jobs were very simple this time – and they did not target anything even remotely military, at least not directly.

Two of the bombers were tasked with dropping Quickstrike Pressure Mines (essentially, converted Mk 82s) into the mouths of the Missisippi and Cumberland river. With 336 mines in each river, going to sea would now become a problem for everybody involved. The other aircraft would split up into pairs – and split out across the East Coast. Each of them carried 96 1000-pound guided bombs – and their jobs were simple. They attacked power plants of any kind, electric distribution systems and water storage plants across the coast. They had fifty targets to deal with, and 480 bombs between them to do it with.

Outside New Orelans, Louisiana, East Congaree

The MiG-29s and MiG-21s came home with no kills. It seemed as if the AA systems and SAM's got nothing, either.

Across Central East Congaree

Before the bombers could get to the mouth of the Cumberland River, they would have to fly over hundreds of miles of land. To reach the mouth of the river in Kentucky, they would have to fly hundreds of miles over enemy territory, and they would be faced with innumerable SAM and AA systems.

At the mouth of the Mississipi, things would be harder. Naval ships could no longer dock in New Orleans, and ships couldn't exit the Mississippi River, either.
Regardless, the SAM and AA systems would try to bring down some aircraft.

Along the Coast of East Congaree

SAM systems and AA systems were ready for what the enemy flung at them. The Grand World Order had aircraft that were under East Congaree command in emergency situations within their borders, so they sent them up. In total, 400 East Congaree MiG-29s, 200 East Congaree MiG-21s, and 200 EC-Commanded GWO F-22s were sent up to attack the enemy bombers, if any remained, after they began to head for home.

Though the enemy's anti-air systems were primitive, eventually – just like in the defense of Belgrade – they'd have to score kills. Thist time, three of the bombers went down, disintegrating as they smashed into the ground at incredible speeds. It was the Buk-1 operators that had finally scored the kills – the fighter pilots still couldn't get that high.. But the bombing in general continued, and hundreds of bombs have been dropped out on all sorts of stations across the coast of East Congaree. (OOC: I don't really know how far North do your borders extend or what cities you have. So I'll have to be vague, unfortunately). The Allanean bombers focused on areas from which troops ave been withdrawn to protect the capital, in order to cut the population of these places from power and water.

In the meanwhile, in Allanea, bombs were being loaded into new batches of bombers and strategic aircraft. A new assault of magnificient proportions was being prepared – quite unlike anything that happened so far.

(With some different names in the Carribean, notably Santdo Domingo still being referred to as "Ciudad Trujillo" and Port of Spain being referred to as Braxton Bragg City)

Across the Atlantic Coast of East Congaree

Baltimore, Wilmington, Jacksonville, and Orlando had their power, water, and sanitation facilities destroyed by the bombers. These cities didn't have great defenses, and so they didn't put up much of a fight before they were bombed. The bombing of Jacksonville and Orlando was disastorous, as they were East Congaree agriculture centers, and their water pumping facilities being shut down cut off irrigation to areas of Florida and Georgia for some time. However, farms could always rely on the Florida aquifer for awhile.
Charleston, Savannah, and Hampton Roads were defended very well, however. Each city had more SAM launchers than could be found in most East Congaree states, and had enough 57mm and 12.7 mm AA guns to provide problems, too. In addition, for the defense of Charleston and Savannah, 25 MiG-31s and 100 MiG-25s were scrambled, each carrying two R-40 missiles. They would spread across the South Carolina and Georgia coasts and Piedmont and attempt to do their job, intercepting enemy bombers and bringing them down from a distance without a fight from the enemy aircraft.

Because East Congaree waters and airspace falling under the dominance of Allanean aircraft and ships would be a threat to Uranium province, we suggest the GWO provide enough ships to keep the Atlantic coast safe, and provide more airicraft to assist us in bringing down strikes from strategic bombers. First off, East Congaree cotton counts for all of the cotton grown in mainland East Congaree, from Virginia to Sonora. Our Western desert states are high producers of cotton, too, as water is rationed to citizens out there, and the government saves most water for irrigation. Also, the Dominion of Mesopotamia spends most of its water on cotton, leaving a large green belt around the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. East Congaree produces a lot of oil, most notably in the Gulf States of mainland East Congaree, and then the Dominion of Mesopoamia. Ninety percent of this oil comes from government-owned facilities. You will have all of the cotton and oil the Confederate Empire produces for the next four years, and the GWO will be barred from buying East Congaree cotton and oil in the future. Also, half of the coffee produced in the areas of Ethiopia, Yemen, and Kenya in Mecca State will be given to Allanea, free of charge for two years. Allanea will gain fishing rights in Lake Victoria for fifteen years, but creel limits will be placed upon fishing boats.

From: East Congaree Executive Office

The Dominion of Mesopotamia produces over 700 million barrells of oil per year. At about 40 dollars per barrel, this would amount to 28 billion dollars per year. East Congaree's gulf coast oil reserves prouce a sizable amount of oil yearly, too. The Confederate Empire, in total, produces 250 million bales of cotton on an average year. Ethiopic Mecca State coffee production amounts to 2 million tons of green coffee beans a year. This would give you about 1 million pounds of coffee from Ethiopia, and a few hundred thousand more from Kenya. With these coffees retailing at eight to ten dollars per pound, there is a fair amount of money to be made in it. In addition, 100 Allanean ships would be allowed to fish in East Congaree territorial waters in Lake Victoria. Each ship could catch 1000 Lake Victoria perch annually. These are giant fish that produce pounds and pounds of tasty meat, retailing between five and seven dollars per pound. In addition, Allanea will gain access to a third of Kenyan Mecca State tea production per year, which amounts to 500,000 tons of tea annually. This tea retails at several dollars per pound. In addition, our areas of Guangdong, Fujian, and Yunnan in our sphere of influence in China produce 1,000,000 tons of tea per year. You will have access to 1/10th of this tea for one year. This tea sells from anywhere from three dollars a pound to some rare varities from certain bushes that can sell for hundreds of dollars per pound, most notably being the original Da Hong Pao pushes on Mount Wuyi.

Across the Confederate Empire

Swarms of people fled from Eastern Cuba into Western Cuba. Hong Kong might have been a ghost town soon, as ships full of people were headed to the Macau and other parts of the empire. All across islands in the Carribean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, people took boats into Western Cuba, Florida, and the port of Mobile, Alabama. By the time Allanea occupied the territories it was taking over by the treaty, only a shell of the population would be left.

The 20 Kirov Class battlecruisers Planned to join up with the submarines and make a thrust towards Allanean waters, then begin a seige of their nation. The Allaneans saw the enemy threat – it was impossible to not notice a fleet of over 3650 surface ships. But now, Allanea was no longer messing around. Its massive attack was now prepared, and now, immense strategic bomber armadas were en route – 500 B-22 bombers, escorted by 50 B22J Jammer aircraft (to disable enemy RADAR frequencies) and 100 Allanean AWACS craft (to track enemy ships), deploying towards the enemy. The strategic stockpiles of Tomahawk Anti-Ship Missiles were being loaded unto the Allanean craft. Allanea had once purchased Tomahawks by the million from the United Earthlings. Now, it would pay off.

The modus operandi was very simple – close in to a range of 1000 kilometers and fire the missiles at the enemy surface ships. 60,000 missiles for 3,650 targets. It was time to finish off the enemy navy once and for all.

*

The Arbiter bombers were all in the air – not fifty or one hundred bombers now, but five hundred, the entire Allanean arsenal of Arbiters. And they were all going to New Orleans. Allanea's politicians had believed peace to be in their grasp – now they have been enraged.

Following behind the Arbiters, timed to arrive several hours after their strike, were the B-22 Zeus bombers. One thousand of them was timed for the strike, and it was going to be a furious one.

As the Arbiters closed range, each of them let loose twenty simple, 45-kilo decoys, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ADM-160_MALD) designed to pose as B-52s on the RADAR screens – and the Allaneans already knew they didn't need to fear anything less than a full-on RADAR-guided missile from a Buk-1M.

Time to kill.

Fifty of the bombers opened their bellies to deploy one giant, impossible, Falling Hammer (http://doc-evilonavich.deviantart.com/art/Falling-Hammer-44045924) bombs. As the 100-ton bombs fell, they unleashed their own defensive submunitions, targeting enemy air-defense sites (six per bomb), and incoming AA missiles. But the real targets were not the Buk-1M launchers. They were the New Orleans levees.

Fifty more bombers carried simpler devices – five-ton thin-cased block-buster bombs, designed to remove roofs from houses and drive the citizens out of their homes and into the streets. Fifty more bombers carried cluster glide-bombs – simply put, five-ton devices that would be unleashed 36 kilometers away from the city, before the bombers even came into the range of its air defenses. The bombs would open up, attacking the air defense facilities surrounding New Orleans with hundreds of heat-seeking submunitions, and its military airfields – with literally thousands upon thousands of tiny cluster bomblets, none larger than a golf-ball. If any civilian lived near the airfields, well, they were screwed, too. And, finally, 250 bombers were tasked to apply the same cluster bombs to the city center.

In total, the first wave of bombers would depose 72,500 tons of bombs into the city of New Orleans, whose air defenses were not modern enough and whose fighters – not advanced enough – to deal with the Arbiter.

Nearing Greater Prussian Waters

New Orleans, Louisiana, East Congaree

New Orleans was in ruins, slowly going underwater. Few inhabitants of the city survived, but those that did went up river to Baton Rouge to be deferred across the country. Before the city was destroyed, though, it had used its SAMs and AA systems once more. Down at the river mouth, demining operations began to take place with commerce ships and fishing boats, mostly manned by civilians but lead by several naval officers. Whirling above were twenty five MiG-29s and 20 MiG-21s, ensuring that enemy aircraft didn't start nosing around the demining crew.

Lubbock, Texas, East Congaree

400 TU-16 bombers, 200 TU-16 bombers, and 4 TU-22M bombers were prepared for takeoff. The TU-16s were loaded to capacity with 250 lb. bombs, while the TU-16s each carried a Kitchen Anti-ship missile with a high explosive warhead. The TU-22Ms each carried four 8,000 pound bombs. Their escort consisted of 50 SU-27 fighters, each armed with four aphid air-air missiles, and of course a single 30mm cannon with 150 rounds. Their goal was relatively simple: Destroy airfields and hangars with Allanean bombers. However, the TU-22s were to attack Allenean ships.

Off the coast of Florida, East Congaree

The 80 Kirov class battlecruisers that had stayed behind and the two Kiev class aircraft carriers spread out across the Carribean Sea, ready to repel any attempt the Allenean Navy would make to occupy the Greater Antilles or advance into the Gulf of Mexico. Soon enough, East Congaree expected the GWO fleet from Uranium Province to come down and provide protection for some major cities.

In the meanwhile, upon the Allanean air fields, the enemy missiles had done their work – those that weren't shot down by MDLS missiles, that is Several thousand ton of munitions were destroyed, and fifty runways were rendered useless.

In the meanwhile, the second wave of Allanean bombers was diverted en route as the news came of their attack having a much more spectacular effect than expected. The B-22's diverted to the four secondary targets that had already been chosen for the event of just such an eventuality – Havana, Baltimore, Miami, and Savannah. Between them, they were estimated to have a population of almost 12 million people. And the United States of Allanea was about to re-enact Sherman's acts – on a far bigger scale.

Within several hours, one million of the cheapest bombs in Allanea's arsenal – the Mk82 munitions – were dropped out, from an altitude of 17 kilometers, on an unsuspecting population of 12 million people, with over sixteen kilograms of explosives and shrapnel distributed on a vaguely fair basis per every person in these cities. The Allaneans' B22J jammer aircraft were working overtime to prevent the Buk1M launchers from locking on, and dozens of decoys were launched to prevent IR-guided missiles from being aimed.

OOC: Much larger than RL New Orleans, it expands significantly inland. Savannah has about 10 million people, Habana has 8 million, Miami only about one million, and Baltimore has probably one million. Savannah has some more advanced weapons provided by the GWO, and it has numerous backup radars that, while they are weaker, can inflict damage.

All Across the Atlantic Coast of East Congaree

Baltimore and Miami easily drowned in bombs. Few survived. In Miami, numerous civilians fled North into Central Florida, while in Baltimore most fled into Western Maryland, Deleware, and Virginia. Savannah wouldn't fall very easily. The GWO had put several dozen advanced SAMs under EC command in Savannah Harbor, as it held numerous warships there. GWO warships under EC command in Savannah harbor were not limited to 80 Arleigh Burke class destroyers and 20 Ticonderoga class cruisers. These not only had SAM systems and numerous guns, but they also had CIWS systems. In addition, the backup radar on the Buk missiles should have done some work, and there were still numerous 57mm and 12.7mm AA systems around.

Habana, Cuba, East Congaree

The Buk SAM's in Habana didn't have backup systems, and a few 57mm and 12.7mm AA systems were scattered across the city. The GWO had only placed a few Ticonderoga class cruisers under EC command here, and they'd do their best with theri SAM's and CIWS systems.

Nearing Greater Prussian Waters

The submarines remaining in Task Force Featherston and Task Force Jeddah prepared to fire off their missiles, hoping to destroy a large portion of Allanea's bomber fleet. Above, 200 TU-22s dashed above the other planes of the bomber crew and fired off their kitchen missiles at whatever Allanean ships showed up on radar. 200 anti-ship missiles with high-explosive warheads went streaking towards Allanean ships. Allanean Waters

The Allanean fleet had waited for this moment. Even as the enemy bombers passed overhead to attempt and deploy their shorter-ranged missiles, the Allaneans had fired off dozens of Sea Sabre (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=13249705&postcount=22) missiles – 34 from every one of the air defense cruisers parked in Allanean waters, or 680 in total, aimed at the primitive enemy aircraft. As they passed overhead, 640 more Sea Dagger missiles were launched at the survivors long before they could even get in range to launch their missiles. What came through was the target of 200 [i]Praetorian VI[/i ] missile launchers – armed with eight-packs of air-defense missiles ,capable of launching their entire magazines in 16 seconds. And unlike the Allanean aircraft, the enemy aircraft in missiles lacked the stealth, speed, and altitude to avoid AA.

East Coast of Congaree

The 57mm and 12.7mm automatic weapons failed completely to reach the Allanean bombers, whereas the enormous RADAR jamming blocked out the frequencies of the enemy's RADAR. The Allaneans had already confronted enemy RADAR and come prepared.

They opened their bomb bays – and unleashed 200 tons of bombs and 10 tons of simple foil each – foil that, if the RADARs weren't jammed, would come out on the screens as gigantic, impossible white blotches, concealing the Allanean planes.

Happily, they didn't need to tarry over the enemy cities to aim. Just drop out the bombs on the civilian areas and get it the hell over with.

Habana, Cuba, East Congaree

Habana was easily destroyed. Most of the population didn't survive the bombing, and those that did were mostly injured. The city's defenses were destroyed, along with the EC-commanded GWO ships defending it.

For the enemy missiles, the Allaneans prepared a special treat – MDLS, Missile Defense Laser Systems, implanted all over the nation, and dozens of Praetorian-IV missile launchers. The bomber hangars themselves were safe in the underground shafts of Allanea's Permanent Strategic Forts, but hundreds of missile impacts still were heard, devastating dozens of runways. Immediately, crew rushed out with runway repair kits – but it seemed that at least some bombers could not land safely. They would have to be sent to the Northern part of Allanea, out of reach for the enemy submarines – or at least so far. Already refuelers were being scrambled to help with the return.

But now the enemy submarines had ventured into Prussian waters, and there would be no mercy for them. The Greater Prussian powers have had the region protected with arrays of SONAR buoys and microphones listening from the submarine. A hundred P6M Seamaster aircraft were put into the air, ordered to deal with the submarine menace. Their modus operandi would be simply – fly out, drop five depth charges on te reported location a submarine, go back to the shore.

If any submarine ventured within a dozen miles of the shore, the Allaneans would scratch that and just launch an ASROC at it.

Simultaneously, a new message was sent to the East Congarese:

You understand, of course, that your treason renders our previous treaty void. You're always welcome to negotiate a new one, however, the terms will now be understandably harsher.

We are no longer willing to take your coffee, milk, or whatever. We are no longer willing to take any land that shares a land border with you, because you will betray us again and attack it. We are also not interested in imposing arms restrictions on your nation. Just give us the wrecks, pay us compensations (five trillion dollars per year for ten years sounds fair for a nation who spends decatrillions on a navy three times the size of ours), and go away and stop your mindless suicide rush on our lands. It's not been working out for you. Over thirty million of your people, by our estimates, are dead now, and our navy hasn't left our waters.

We understand your honor required you to fight for your allies. You did your duty. Now consider your duty to your children and women.

We are just, and yet we are merciful and peace-loving.

Greater Prussian Waters

The submarines went back under the surface. Their mission was simple: Hunt enemy ships.

Across the Confederate Empire

Every remaining submarine in East Congaree hands that was not in the Gulf Fleet that stood in the Mississippi, Cumberland, Ohio, and Tennessee rivers, or the Lake Victoria Fleet was to form Task Force Thurmond. This task force would be under the command of Michael Thurmond, the head of naval affairs, but only from wireless signals. Thurmond was a good strategist, he didn't have the overly agressive rush-and-kill attitude Reginald Deere had when he was too manic to think straight. Task Force Thurmond had a relatively simple goal. Sit one thousand miles off the East Congaree coast, and wait to see what happens to the remnants of Task Force Featherston and Tank Force Jeddah's submarine forces.

Merchant's Millpond Naval Airbase, North Carolina, East Congaree

200 TU-16 bombers took off, each carrying eight 2000 lb. bombs. All they had to do was go for Allanean airfields and destroy more of their runways.

IC:

The Allanean aircraft kept up the search. In the meanwhile, Prussian and Allanean Sonar kept listening for the diesel engines of Whiskey submarines. In the meanwhile, in New Bavaria - a province in the North-West of Greater Prussia – a fleet of 250 Arbiters was being prepped, again.

And – for the first time in many years – in mainland Allanea, six Mark II Nuclear Pulse Guns were being prepared for combat. Of course, the United States would not deploy a nuclear explosive against the enemy... but that wasn't what a Nuclear Pulse Gun was for, after all.

OOC: Just making sure, those things only give off radiation, not anything else?

Greater Prussian Waters

The Whiskey class submarines proceeded towards the Allanean coast. They planned to patrol about 50 miles off the coast, and patrol that area for enemy ships, or even fire off a torpedo at a harbor with the hope of getting a lucky hit, if they ventured closer to the coast.

Approaching Greater Prussian Waters

The 200 TU-16s prepared to unleash their bombs on twenty Allanean airfields. By doing this, they could focus 10 TU-16s on each airfield, and hopefully send 80 2000 lb. bombs on each airfield.

The Allaneans now armed their planes with ASROCs. Now, as soon as a ping was received anywhere near the coast, a pair of ASROCs was fired at it.

In the meanwhile, a fleet of a hundred Havenfighters was unleashed to meet the TU-16's as soon as they approached national waters. They approached, fired a pair of AM-RAAMs each at the enemy, and then fired two more at each survivors, then broke formation.

And finally, the six nuclear pulse guns fired, launching six giant, extended-range shells right at downtown Nashville.

Nashville, Tennessee, East Congaree

Thankfully, Reginald Deere and most of the Freedom Party officials had hidden in the mountains of East Tennessee, along with most East Congaree congressional members. The shells hit Nashville, killing 80,000 civilians, killing 12,000 infantrymen, destroying 24 T-34 tanks, 12 T-55 tanks, and destroying dozens of Buk SAM systems,57mm AA systems, and innumerable 12.7mm AA systems.

Above Allanean Waters

All but four TU-16 bombers were shot down. The four TU-16 bombers decided that instead of going to multiple airfields, they would bomb a medium sized town on the Allanean coast, and hope for the best.

Off the Allanean Coast

The submarines knew they were isolated, and that they would probably not make it out of Allanean waters alive. As a result, they tried to get close enough to the coast to direct their torpedoes towards a harbor, and then fired off all the torpedoes they had. After that, they began to flee back towards East Congaree and the GWO, spreading out to try to avoid a concentration of missiles destroying all of the submarines.

All Across East Congaree

East Congaree was forming the East Congaree Freedom Party Naval Strike Force, formed out of civilian ships and raw civilian volunteers. Barges, cruise ships, fishing boats, oil boats, recreational fishing boats, yachts, and even river recreational boats were armed, flagged, and ready to go to battle. The barges, oil boats, and cruise ships were armed with anti-ship missiles, the yachts and fishing boats with mortars and AA guns, and he river boats and the river recreational boats were armed with machine guns. They formed Task Force Freedom. They would make a last-resort, desperate assault on Allanean waters.

Allanean Air Crews

The Havenfighter pilots knew they could not allow the enemy to reach the coast. They started taking turns strafing the enemy craft with their aircraft guns, and transmitted orders to mainland air defense systems to fire at least a dozen missiles at the incoming planes.

Shore defenses

As the incoming submarines were detected in their suicidal rush, the Allanean shore defenses went into a frenzy. Upwards of a thousand ASROCs were launched – yet again – from the shores at the incoming submarines. Yet again, a fleet of 100 P6M Seamasters took off from Allanea's harbors, depositing 6,000 500-kilo depth charges on whoever survived the ASROC blasts .The enemy subs were now within range of Allanean and Greater Prussian microphones – which made them incredibly easy targets.

Six Months Later

The Allaneans saw the enemy fleet preparing. They did what they needed to do – relocated munitions – Mk-82 bombs, weaponry, etc. - from emergency storage in Derscon (http://z15.invisionfree.com/Confederacy/index.php?showtopic=26) and Arterus to the Allanean mainland. Military factories were swamped with orders for the cheapest bombs and missiles possible, those that could be quickly produced.

More importantly, the Nuclear Pulse Guns kept firing a salvo every two days – the crews took their sweet time, slowly rebuilding the breeches on the elderly Mark I guns, the Mark IIs being kept secret for now – alternating between various enemy cities. Nobody could be certain or safe. By the end of the six months, ninety cities in the 10,000-kilometer range of the enormous cannons have been targeted.

As the enemy navy was complete, Alexander Kazansky penned one last message for his enemies.

I see that you assembled a giant navy to fight my men. I admire your courage, but, frankly, I sense that it is suicidal. Perhaps you should consider an honorable surrender? Pay the money, and I promise you, Allanea shall be as merciful in peace as she is furious in war. Please, stop this madness. I do not take pleasure in condemning your children, your sons and brothers to death, much as you do not take pleasure in sending them to die.

Over Allanean Waters

The TU-16s were shot down, and fell into the sea, begining their slow descent to the sea bottom.

Off the Allanean Cost

After the submarines had fired their torpedoes, they did expect to get sunk, and sure enough they did. They began their slow descent to the sea bottom.

Over the Weeks

A lull in the fighting developed after the dropping of the submarines. East Congaree devoted all of its resources towards making advanced Buk SAMs. East Congaree suffered several million civilian deaths, and lost several thousand infantrymen, along with dozens of SAM's, AA systems, tanks, and power and water facilities over the weeks. The Freedom Party Naval Strike Force was also ready, along with Task Force Thurmond. Task Force Freedom Went out first, charging madly at Greater Prussian Waters. Further behind Task Force Thurmond was the Gulf Fleet, recently pulled out of the rivers and merged with what forces were in the sea. It labeled its self Task Force Davis. The Pacific Fleet mostly was an escort fleet now, escorting goods to allied and neutral territories, and keeping in a steady flow of Mesopotamian oil into East Congaree ports. Late one evening, Task Force Freedom set out, heading for Greater Prussian waters.

The Allanean response was predictable by now. It consisted of 16 B-22 aircraft, escorted by a dozen AWACs planes. They came out and launched their Tomahawks at full range, one for each of the Cargo ships, barges, cruise ships and oil tankers, timed so that they would still be at a range of 3500 kilometers from Allanea when the first missiles began impacting. After this, they turned home.

In Allanea, a bizarre and unique reply was being prepared for the enemy's assault.

OOC: In brief, I have a homeland in Haven, my capital in the Greater Prussian region, and territories in Arterus, Mediterranica, and my own NeZemlya region.

IC:

The Allaneans were now practicing a completely new war – a mix between killing and target practice. Now, a fleet of merely twenty-two bombers had left the Allanean national waters, escorted by one AWACS craft and one B-22J. Two of them carried the same TASM missiles previously used. Others had a better plan.

As they entered a range of five hundred kilometers, two of the B-22bombers started firing their TASMs at the impending enemy cargo ships, cruise liners, and barges – 200 missiles for the surviving 120 targets. Then, the others passed over the enemy fleet, dropping out their weapons from maximum altitude – 17 kilometers, far beyond the reach of most AA weapons. They knew full well none of the enemy ships were large enough to mount a long-range AA weapon. Now, what remained was to drop out their perfect weapon.

Cluster bombs.

Eight thousand CBU-103 (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/munitions/cbu-87.htm) 1000-pound cluster bombs, guided by their wind-correcting tailfins to areas over the enemy ships. They opened up, unleashing hundreds of bomblets, each effective against even a light armored vehicle – speak not of a pontoon boat. In short order, over 1,600,000 tiny bomblets covered the fleet of enemy yachts, fishing boats, and pontoon boats in a cloud of death and destruction.

*

In the meanwhile, a new bomber fleet was headed to East Congaree. It was giant, terrible in size. Ten percent of Allanea's fleet of B-22's - one thousand bombers. 750 Arbiter bombers. One hundred and two B-22J Jammers, to destroy even the notion of enemy RADAR interception with the sheer power of their engines.

Baton Rouge.

Jefferson Davis City.

Ciudad Trujillo.

Houston.

The B-22 bombers divided into four teams of 270 and approached these cities. Every single team was comprised of twenty jamming aircraft and 250 regular bombers, and upon entering enemy airspace, five bombers – in each team – started launching literally hundreds of MADM decoys. A decoy weighted 45 kilograms – which meant a B-22 could launch up to 4,000 of them. Right now, they launched only about two hundred each, making it seem as though over a thousand bombers were attacking each city – even if the enemy could somehow get their RADAR to work. Buk-1M launchers would become completely useless – and in fact so would any weapon relying on RADAR. Infra-red aiming would become only slightly less useless as the Allanean bombers dropped dozens of infra-red flares.

Then, the Allaneans approached each city, deploying their terrible weapon. The Confederate Munitions Stockpile in Vizion (http://z15.invisionfree.com/Confederacy/index.php?showtopic=26) has been tapped for this new horror. Over every enemy city, the bomb bays opened, launching a hundred ton of unguided bombs per B-22. The rest of the B-22's cargo capacity was left free for fifty tons air-to-air missiles and countermeasures, fifty tons were left empty, and ten tons were dedicated for a new special weapon.

10% of the Allanean bombs were aimed at the enemy airfields, in order to paralyze the air force on the ground, and the rest was dropped on high-density civilian habitation areas. Every one of the targeted city was hit with 18,000 tons of fuel air explosives – bombs far more powerful than their weight would suggest. Within minutes, the city centers would become roaring lakes of flame – and the worst had yet to come.

Even as these bombs descended on the enemy cities, the Arbiters were now approaching Charleston. Fifty of them carried defensive Minuteman drones and a hundred MADM decoys each. They were escorted by two B-22 Jammers that launched early, so that the arrival would be simultaneous. As they entered range, the decoys were deployed, creating the magnificient illusion of an attack by 5,000 B-52 jets. Then, the RADARs went out as the jammers started doing teir thing.

Minutes later, bombs began to rain out on the enemy capital – one hundred of the massive Falling Hammer self-defending munitions targeting air defense sites, followed up by an immense tonnage of ODAB-500 unguided 500-kilogram bombs. 60,000 tons of bombs rained out on the Nashville city center – for, again, the Allanean bombers did not carry their full capacity of weapons. Only one hundred tons of bombs per each of the Arbiters, raining out from the 22-kilometer altitude.

Now the secret weapon came – leaflets by their hundreds and thousands, explaining the situation to the Congarese in all five cities.

Brave Congarese!

Your government is leading you into a war without victory, without hope, without honor. Already over half of your navy rests on the bottom of the sea, and yet your government is now confiscating your civilian property – your livelyhood – for last-ditch suicide runs on Allanea. They care not for your deaths. They care not for your suffering. Willingly they condemn you to meaningless destruction at our hands. Listen now, Congarese. If you continue to support these people, We, the Allaneans, will hold you responsible. We are now becoming mildly annoyed by your behavior. Keep this up and we will become truly angry.

But surrender now, pay us our reparations, and we promise you: we will be merciful. We, and our allies in Greater Prussia, will forgive all wrongs and protect you from your foes. For our leaders are just, but they are also merciful.

Near Greater Prussian Waters

Task Force Freedom's remnants were sunk, ships small and large. All those ships together didn't get a single kill. Task Force thurmond continued to advance.

Houston, Texas, East Congaree

The city was, in effect, drowned in bombs. The city's population was mostly killed, and the massive oil tanks in the city holding gulf coast oil caught on fire.

Ciudad Trujillo, Dominican, East Congaree

The city suffered the same fate that Houston did, save the oil tanks.

Jefferson Davis City, Puerto Rico, East Congaree

Jefferson Davis city's inhabitants were mostly killed. However, the loyalty of Puerto Rican citizens, which was questioned most of the time, was completely thrown behind the East Congaree government after seeing their state capital slaughtered.

Baton Rogue, Louisiana, East Congaree

The city suffered the fate the others who were bombed by Allanean aircraft did. Baton Rogue had sizable stocks of oil in it, and fires eventually spread into the Louisiana countryside, drowning cotton, sugarcane, and tea stocks in flames.

Charleston, South Carolina, East Congaree

Charleston was drowned in bombs. Hundreds of AA systems, SAMs, and shore defense guns drowned in flames, along with thousands of foreign nationals in the city. A couple hours, negro red rebels stormed the city and proclaimed the Congaree Socialist Republic the successor state of The Confederate States of East Congaree. This was far from true, however, as they only held about half of the state of South Carolina and a small strip of Northeastern Georgia and Southern coastal North Carolina.

Nashville, Tennessee, East Congaree

The bombers sent up eight hundred T-34 tanks and twelve hundred T-55 tanks, along with forty T-72 tanks and four Divine Tiger tanks into flames. One hundred thousand infantrymen and several artillery batteries were drowned in the explosives, along with thousands of AA defenses and SAM's. Later that day, the East Congaree government had slipped across the border into the GWO, commanding East Congaree from Pittsburgh, Uranium Province.

All Across East Congaree

Airbases in Louisiana, Dominican, East Texas, South Carolina, and Puerto Rico were effectively destroyed. Still, some of the East Congaree National Airforce remained, though mostly older fighters and attack aircraft. The Airforce would effectively assume an anti-insurgency role for the forseeable future.

Now, the Allaneans have started using completely different means to wage their war. Satellites detected the vague presence of the enemy submarine fleet as it left its harbors– though of course they could not track it in real time. Now, P6M Seamasters flew out to confront the enemy. Again, each of them carried 20 500-kilo depth-charges. With 250 of the naval aircraft, some truly awesome firepower could be deployed. Every time a submarine was detected, the Seamaster would drop five depth charges on it and go home.

In the meanwhile, the Nuclear Pulse Guns fired again – once only each, targeting surviving airbases in East Congaree.

The message to the Socialist rebels was simple:

The Allanean aircraft were protected by their usual jamming equipment, but they felt this wasn't enough. This was precisely why their bombers were always loaded below capacity – to leave space for defensive missiles. As the enemy aircraft were detected on AWACS, five of the bombers turned towards them and targeted them with simple AMRAAM missiles. Each of the missiles weighted 152 kilograms, and so the bomber carried slightly over 7 tons of them – about 40. Thefore, each enemy fighter was targeted five.
