I need help. Can Someone please tell me how I actually pay for the things in storefronts? I was planning on making one, and I've already purchased things on another one.

You ask what you want, you make sure that you have the money from your budget (I can supply a web address for that) and you wait for the response. You then state you wire the amount money that your using to buy your products, you wait for a couple of hours and bingo, you have your supply.

Of course, you need to read the fine print of every storefront for time before and after arrival of your goods.

But how do I actually wire the money to them?

You just say you wired the money to the storefront, you then wait so many Real Life Hours which will become so much time in NS form. It's the easiest way to use your government's money.

EDIT:

Nationstates Dossiers is what's it called.

Site Address: http://nsdossier.texasregion.net/

Sometimes you may need to enter your nation's name twice. It happens from time to time but it shows your entire budget and yes, I do use it.

So all I have to do is say I wired the money, and the game takes care of it for me?

The money is imaginary. You see, this is something called "role-playing", or "make-believe". The game entirely consists of you clicking on issues. That is the game. Now, on these forums, you can roleplay your nations actions and reactions to other nations. Does that clear things up for you?

Ignore all of the above posters. To purchase things on storefronts, you will have to actually send them money via PayPal. I accept MasterCard, Visa, and American Express.

Calculators fail.

Real men calculate their GDP, budget, etc manually with spreadsheets, sweat, and insomnia.

Well, that, and calculators really don't give you an accurate picture of how economies really work. Try to imagine what Steel and Fire would really be like if this (http://nstracker.jfsoftware.com/index.php?nation=steel+and+fire) were accurate. I generally claim that to be government propaganda, and use for RP purposes a military budget equal to whatever seems right for the military stuff I have (currently about $20-30 trillion, of which up to $3-4 trillion gets embezzled or disappears each year due to corrupt officials).

And I'm guessing that the military budget is the amount I've spent on the military, right? Because my budget is currently 0, at least for the military.

Yes and every nation here on NS and in Real Life has a military budget

Because my budget is currently 0, at least for the military.
mean you have No military

Consider the example of Fatatatutti. If you do your homework, you'll find that our armed forces are funded almost entirely by bake sales. We do maintain a rather sizable defensive force because Fatatatutians do love their pineapple upside-down cake. Bake sales are a major tourist draw as well, that and the surfing. We cover two major demographics there, surfers and fat people.

So we can defend ourselves quite comfortably - thank you very much - and at no expense to the taxpayer. :p

Alright, I understand. Also, how do I make a storefront?

Aren't there like a billion guides (linked from II stickies) for all of these topics?

Well, to make a storefront much like mine, as you've likely already seen; all you need is to make a few designs, make a new topic, and post the designs with prices. People wil lthen come to your storefront gradually. Don't expect to be getting hughe orders and lots of customers immediately. It takes time to build up a customer base.

Now, as I do with most new nations, here is a design of a tank that is your's free, to use however you wish. Only thing is, you may not give the "raw design" it to other people.

T-11 Light Tank:

whats the range of the 152mm?

Wait, how do I use a weapon that I buy or recieve free?

Like any other, mate.

You do understand the entire purpose/concept of freeform roleplay, I assume? If not, then by all means I suggest you read up on some of the stickies. Essentially, actual 'rules' are few and far between. Etiquette generally rules the day.

19-02-2009, 03:34
Well, do I store the weapon, or what? What if I forget I even have it?
Cravan
19-02-2009, 03:38
A factbook thread or wikipedia (NSWiki or wikistates being the two choices there) would certainly help with that. That, or keeping meticulous (or in my case not so meticulous) records and notes on your hard drive in .txt or word documents, etc. How you store the information or use the weapons in character is entirely up to you.

whats the range of the 152mm?

OOC: No idea. I just put the turrets on them, lol.
The Wolf Hold
19-02-2009, 04:28
OOC- Well the range of a 150mm Gun is 24.7 km and that is off the AS-90 Howitser so a 152mm gun would have a longer range then any modern world gun based artillery peice put it that way
Falkasia
19-02-2009, 04:34
OOC: Not necessarily. I believe a certain tank, the M551 Sheridan, has a 152mm gun. Don't quote me on that though.

Imperial isa

OOC: Yea, it happens. I was reading another guy's design he sent to me for an Armored Assault Vehicle. He gave the thing an AGT-1500 engine, a chassis the size of a small pickup truck, and a 120mm High-Velocity Cannon. You can bet I drilled him on it, lol.
The Wolf Hold
19-02-2009, 04:49
