Horizon (FT, OPEN)

The Hawk Transport ship Horizon flew through space at Warp 2. Whilst slowler than the Military ships, it still got the Horizon where she was going. WHich was actually nowhere specific, they were searching for trade routes. They were just entering a star system.
"Captain, we're entering the system" THe Helm reported
"Alright, scan for inhabitated planets" Captain John Arbukle ordered
The system was a busy one, as it was home to Tanaara's Ares base, their primary naval construction yards and training center.
There were five System Defense Fortress's scattered around the outer areas of the star system. There were only five mostly uninspiring but perfectly mineable planets and a deep but flat asteroid belt, that too was being actively mined by countless small independent prospectors, as well as more massive governmental ships.
The arrival of an unknown ship prompted a swift response and a broad band automated transmission went out.
*This solar system has been claimed by the Domnination of Tanaara, and it is a restricted access . Please be advised that you are requested to proceed directly to Station Zebra for introductions and exchange of information. Please proceed at sub light speed through normal space. Micro jumps are not allowed, and please be advised that there are numerous automated transports that might not recognize non Tanaaran protocols. Please consider this a class five hazard zone.”
The C.S.’s voice was a pleasant baritone, and despite the seeming lack of attention he would be watching the stranger very closely. As would the myriad defenses the system boasted in addition to the SDF’s.

"Do as they say helm" John ordered
"Should we hail them?" Helm aksed.
"No, they didn't tell us to so we shan't"
No the automatic message said nothing about reverse communication, but the carrier wave was still open should the new arrival chose to do so.
The countless automated drones were obviously being adjusted to account for the Horizon's movement to Station Zebra, the nearest of the SDF's. A massive structure it was heavily armoured and capable of projecting layers of energy shielding. Though at the moment only light 'anti space debris' shields were up.
Scanners swept though the Horizon, quickly cataloging it's structural, engineering, technological, and crew make up but there was no attempt to interact in any manner with it's cybersystems, or to take over it's operational systems.

"We're being scanned" Helm reported.
"Hold the course Ensign" John ordered.

The ship followed on the course it had been given
OOC; My sensor sweep would have shown if the Horizon was equipped with transporter tech - and I am going to assume that you have it since you re using what looks like Trek tech. If you aren't I'll gladly edit.

Even at normal space speed, sub 'light', it did not take the newcomer to reach Station Zebra. The SDF's were located on the fringes of the solar system. That left them plenty of fall back room, if it ever became needed.
Station Zebra was a vast orb, a sphere of the most advanced armor and weaponry about, and it had diameter of close to eighty miles. As the Horizon approached a small craft - barely large enough to hold a single person - zipped out.
'Greetings visitor, this is station pilot Ellie Ramsay. Do you wish to be tractored in, or would you prefer to transport over, or send a shuttle?”

OOC: Well it's Enterprise-era so we don't have it yet, of course, if your selling it...starfleet would probably buy it.
---------
"We'd like to be tractored in pleace, as we do not have transporter techonology at this time" John replied to the Pilot
OOC: Oh we have lots of goodies for sale that Star Fleet may beggar itself buying.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"We'd like to be tractored in place, as we do not have transporter techonology at this time" John replied to the Pilot
"No problem, I show you assigned to Grey 17." Ellie replied, and chords of light sprang from the prow of the tiny tug and enveloped the Horizon. Spinning inplace the tug began to two the larger ship forward as a great gaping maw of light
Bay Grey 17 was opening it's doors. It was the closest one of the size to fully hold the Horizon - though there were much larger bays the stations was not wasteful of consumables, like atmosphere.
Shortly they nestled within and the environmental contaiment field reactivated - though the great armored doors remained open.
"We're docked" The Helm officer reported
"Good, put the ship in grey mode for the duration" John ordered
OOC: I'll probably have to call a starship in to ensure the systems are compatable
OOC: Feel free too, we're reasonably friendly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ellie parked the small tug back in the nitch the bay used for such and hopped out once the environmental shield was back up. She wore a heavy leather bomber style jacket, the bays were kept cold - she could have dimply flicked on her personal environ field and been toasty warm, but she liked the ancient ' heroic naval aviator' look it gave her.
Station Zebra be a SDF, but it also held a large civilian component - not that there was much difference betwen civilian and military - but Zebra had been designed to be the one all visitors stopped in at - and Ellie was not only a tug pilot, but a registered First Contact Specialist.
Her cbyer neuronet advised her as to the location of what was guessed to be the ships primary personel hatch and she headed towards it, eager to meet the newcomers.

John, his XO and a secuirty guard exited the main personnel port and stepped down onto the docking area, they looked around, someone was walking over.
"Hello, I am First Contact Specialist Ellen Ramsay." Ellie greeted them in standard common, an outgrowth of old Terran American -Austrailian -English. The young woman, she looked to be in her early thirties, walked over and offered the three a warm smile.
She'd quickly consulted her data padd as she had rounded the ship and was pleased to note that the stations scan showed the newcomers as needing only the 'standard' atmosphere mix. She had a universal translator as part of her cyber neural network, and was ready in case there was a language barrier.
"Welcome to SDF Zebra, an outpost of the Domination of Tanaara."

"Thank you, I'm Captain John Arbukle, this is Commander Paul Stevenson and this is Lt James Hold" John said "From the Planetary Republic of the Hawk Trade Coalition"
"We're always very pleased to meet new people. And new trading partners are always welcome as well." Ellie 's smile widened as the universal translator was not needed, and she offered her hand for shakes all around.
"However the first thing that needs to be done is to advise you of our quarantine regulations. We wouldn't want anything of ours to get loose in your populations, or any thing of yours to get loose in ours."
She gestured them to one of the personnel locks in the bays bulkhead. "We have very comfortable meeting rooms available and while I am well versed, one of our medical specialist can give you all the various facts far more clearly than I can."
The specialist would interface via holocom, and the meeting rooms had stocks of data crystals providing visitors all the necessary information concerning the vaccinations

"Of course" John said following
Ellie lead the trio to a small but comfortably furnished conference room, and offered them their choice of food and drink.
"Our over view scans show that you can apparently handle any food stuffs and such that we can, but I'd suggest things marked with a < :> just be safe until complete compatability is determined." She suggested as she pulled up a menu on the confrence tables holo- display so they could chose what they liked. A replicator would have it available in seconds once they made their choices.

The trio looked through the menu, they stopped at the Transporter and briefly talked among themselves, John nodded.
"Can we bring one of our starfleet ships to see if your tech is compatable?" He asked.
OOC: I was speaking of a menu like a restraunts menu, so they can pick out what foods and drinks they'd like but...
IC:
"Why certainly" Ellie replied as she looked over with a frown to see that she had pulled up the wrong screen. She blushed and brought up a second - this one being the one she had intended, the food and beverage screen so that the trio from the Horizon could chose what snacks they might like.
"I'm sorry, but yes you are welcome to send for someone who can estimate technological compatability"
The Battlehawk
02-03-2009, 09:33
"Ah, our apologies" John smiled as they looked at the food menu, the Security officer sent a message back to the ship to bring in a starship
Oh none needed, it just would have been more polite for me to have brought up this one" She nodded to the refreshement menu "first." Ellie chuckled, still blushinhg slightly. "But feel free to take a look though our caatalog as you like."
"Many items you will note have Ø by them. Those are technologies free to nations that agree to abide by certain conditions."
The Battlehawk
04-03-2009, 14:29
"Of course, any of those technologies, will need to be negotioated by a starfleet captain, they're the only ones with authorisation to make those sorts of decisions" John commented "As for us though" John marked out several items, such as dilithium crystels and other things, resources mainly, that the Planetery republic needed.
Ellie too notes of their requests and as their refreshments arrived so did the medical specialist, via hologram.
He appeared to be an older gentleman, with a scholarly, but brisk, air of competence about him. "I am pleased to welcome you all to the Domination, and I wanted to reassure you that our intial scans found nothing alarming. However as you quite possibly know, viruses can be adept at hiding and quite tricky. Here is a list of the innoculations we'd like you to accept before interacting more with our Citizens."
Ellie handed over a data crystal at that point which listed the combination vaccination the physician recommended, and then the specialist continued.
"Ellie is fully certifited to administer this and if you agree I will personally see to the transport in of a hypospray filled with three doses, one for each of you."
The Battlehawk
06-03-2009, 16:55
John nodded "Of course"
One hypospray and three vials filled with clear liquid appeared on the table top transporter pad, as had their choice of beverages and snacks earlier. Ellie carefully checked the labeling on each vial, then fitted the first one into the device.
The hypospray would be nearly painless, merely a feeling of cold and pressure, as if some one were holding an ice cube firmly against their bicepts. One by one she administered the general vaccine, and smiled as she sent the hysprayer back to the medical section.
"There, in a couple of hours we'll all be safe, and you can go on through to the rest of the station. If you'd like the vaccine can be administered to all of your crew as shore leave is allowed. It's not much, but we have a multiscreen holocinema, a small shopping mall, a zero g pool, a water pool, an ice skating rink, and very well stocked gymnasium and meditation gardens." She listed off the more popular spots - there were actually far more recreational venues - including a pub style bar, a dance club and two hotels.
The Battlehawk
10-03-2009, 23:25
"That would be appreaciated" John said "We've not been of ship since we left Starbase one, a few months ago now"
"Don't worry about paying for it" Ellie added with another of her warm smiles "First Contact gets a pass, since we don't use 'money' mostly any more as it is. As long as the Replicators have the raw necessities, we've pretty much moved to what they call a 'post-scarcity society'."
It wasn't exactly, but it would take hours to explain the basics. And there was still plenty of manual labor, but the worse- the dangerous, dullest/ mindnumbingest was left to automation. And they weren't a utopia by any means either, though crime rates over all were low, and here on the SDF was all but non existant - though barfights still happened.
