Since our entry into the world, our nation has never created close ties with other nations. We have had embassies and have had allies in specific conflicts, but no more then that. Now, we wish to change that. We are seeking allies with which we could have definite support from. There are several types of nations which will be rejected without consideration.

1. Communist Nations
Reason: There is a strong Anti-Communist Sentiment in our county. In the past 10 years, there have been two communist rebellions and we are on the brink of war with the remaining Gordonopian Communists. Although there are several communist nations that we have good relations with, it would be a bad move both politically and bad for the nations stability to ally with any communist nation.


There are also several requirements
1. Of course, you have to be willing to help Gordonopia in the time of war. We will do likewise for your nation.
2. Have the logistical capability to send at least 50,000 soldiers in the event of war. Again, we will do likewise.
3. You must have had prior contact with our nation. (ic contact only)
4. You are willing to establish an embassy in Gordonopia and allow us one in yours.

We regret to inform you that we have had to reject your application. The reason for this is that our records show that we have had no prior contact with your nation, therefor we have no idea of your capabilities.

We are somewhat amused that United Gordonopia is requiring potential allies to "apply", as though being Gordonopia's ally would be a job or paid position -- and more that it can apparently determine whether a nation is suitable for a lifelong alliance and mutual defense pact simply from this application, which, we might add, is rather brief.

Well, we were somewhat amused, until the Crown Secretary for Foreign Affairs pointed out that this was best interpreted as a cynical move by an increasingly jaded organization under the all too correct impression that national leaders care little for who they align themselves with so long as it is profitable to them. Were Gordonopia really interested in forming lasting alliances worth note, it would hold diplomatic conferences to open official trade relations and sign treaties, and ratify those treaties through warfare and longstanding friendship. This self-serving move, however, is only useful for those whose sole qualification for allies is that they possess military force.
