Díensatory

Welcome to the first annual Díensatory military exhibition! Díensatory has been founded in order to set the stepping stones for the world's currently largest ground forces technology exhibition. As a consequence, Díensatory is opening its doors to local [as in, the region of Greater Díenstad (http://www.nationstates.net/96243/page=display_region/region=greater_dienstad)] and foreign armaments industry. Currently, the a maximum of the number of sets has not been established, as we are testing the popularity of such an exhibition. A company can request only one stand, but this stand's area can increase in proportion to the number and size of the products being presented. A company can assume that the Díensatory staff will take all available measures to make sure that the relevant stand is large enough to fit what will be exhibited. To underscore our point, the Díensatory exhibition will be held in the Al'iníer Castle, a large Ejermacht military base thirty kilometers north of Fedala [home of the 63rd and 107th armored divisions, and the 567th mechanized infantry division]. Specifically, it will be held on maneuvering grounds and so will have enough surface area to accommodate all foreseen stands.

Companies can sign-up between today and 30 June. Remember, one stand per company, although there is no limit to how many companies per nation. Due to the nature of the exhibition, only armaments which fall under the wide category of 'ground weapons' can be displayed. It is true that this categorization is fairly wide, as attack helicopters can be presented since they are mostly procured by ground armies. As a consequence, it would be more accurate to describe Díensatory as an exhibition meant for the presentation of products for armies across the world. It should be noted that the exhibition will be presented [as aforementioned] in a landlocked military base, and therefore the presentation of ships will be difficult. Nevertheless, we leave creativity [please, be rational!] to the businesses which will be presenting their products. Be reminded that the cost of transportation of products and staff will be on the shoulders of the presenting company, as Díensatory is not paying for anything other than hosting the exhibition.

To offer some information on what companies can expect out of Díensatory, it should be mentioned that journalist around the world, from reknown military-related magazines, journals and periodicals, will be attending Díensatory. Furthermore, officers from the world's militaries will also be present. As a consequence, this is a chance for a company to display a new [see below] product and have information on it widely distributed around the world. So, there are high stakes for procurement - especially in regards to militaries in the region of Díenstad.

Note about last year [OOC]:
Last year, there was a month of preparation. Due to the lack of time to develop the write-ups for some of the military equipment, Díensatory was canceled. As a result, I decided to announce it as early as mid-February in order to give everyone (especially myself) enough time to get everything prepared.

What you can do
[Please note the OOC nature of this section.]

You can sign up an unlimited amount of companies, and present an unlimited amount of products. These producs should be brand-new. This means that they are to be designed within the given sign-up period (you can sign up before the product is finished, which is expected), and they should not be on any storefront until the end of Díensatory. Designers are expected to have a write-up of some sort, and it must be posted on the NSDraftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom) and reviewed. Your in-character post on the role-play thread should be more like an advertisement, or some person presenting it - I leave creativity to you - and link to the commentary thread on the NSD. You don't have to tell me what you're presenting when you sign-up; assume that the stand is large enough for what you are presenting.
You can role-play having military officials at the exhibition and have actual character role-plays in the thread, looking at the weapons, testing them (if possible), et cetera. This would be purely role-play oriented, in the thread.
'Role-play' a journalist and release articles on the weapons you want. I.e. similar to articles in Janes International Defense Review, Military Technology, et cetera.
You can be creative and make something up, that is rational and not 'for the lulz' or just plain stupid.

"You sure about this? You know how much we tossed into Aero Kargucagstan? Money down the drain, that's what these exhibitions are," Natasha said. "Boris Rotorcraft will not be presenting at Díensatory '09."

"Oh, come on - Jacques Tanks and Smith Armory are going, and it's not like they've had good sales figures of late! You've got those three trillion over in Friedlichen, the profits from Flight! (which, mind you, we paid advertising costs for), and you're hogging most of the R&D funds as it is! Luis told me he won't have any designs to present!" Mondo replied. "Seriously, if you're worried about costs, we'll get Pearl Foods and Sultan Oil to cover them."

"So, you're saying we won't be paying a cent?"

"Well, except for R&D. Surely, you wouldn't just send off the CH-25?"

"Fair enough. We do have some projects in the pipeline - the H-4 series, the ICE-34."

"Thank you!"
