Recently Albandania has been trying to eliminate black markets from their country. However most black markets have turned to civillians and have given them guns and are paying them to protect the Black Markets supply lines and supplies. Several battles in the capital of Albandania, Egaigus, have left 16 people dead, 8 of them soldiers. Albandania is requesting assistance in this purge of black markets.

A local black market dealer has been selling weapons to a local crime lord who has been terrorizing the industrial district of Egaigus. that market dealers name is Mathias Deckerson. A few weeks ago a swat team attempted to storm his market, but he found out about it and moved his sales elsewhere in the city. Since then he has been hiring thugs to protect him, and they have thwarted to SWAT team attempts to take the stand. The crime boss (Dimitrios Lore) has also been backing up the market since the last SWAT attempt. They have also increased the frequency of their attacks. The police are tied down fighting them, and we plan to send in some military teams to take the black market stand. However We will need some help killing his supply lines to make it a final kill when we do take his stand.

the 12th marine strike force

The team moved in on a building known to be occupied by the "liberators", the gang run by crimelord Dimitrios Lore. The team was moving into position to break down the door when MG fire ripped through a window and started raining down upon the marines. The Marines quickly dove for cover, however 1 out of the 10 marines was already dead. three marines quickly got into a building and started firing on the liberators' machine gun when a sniper pinned them down as well. eventually a marine marksman a few buildings away found the liberator sniper and eliminated him, allowing the marines in the building to provide covering fire on the MG nest while the other marines fell back. The marines in the building then fell back as well.

ANN reports,

Yesterday a Marine assault team stormed a local gang fortress, believed to have been run by the crimelord Dimitrios Lore. From what we know the attempt was thwarted with one marine casualty due to the heavily defenses of the fortress building. Marine commander Yuri refused to comment on this assault. Now, for the weather with John. John, hows my weekend gonna be?

thank you Comorostan. We can really use the help.

2nd Hawk team

The team moved behind cover, concealing themselves from the road. Their mission was to halt a supply truck that had moved out from the black market and was suspected to be headed to a Liberator outpost. The team saw the truck turn the corner, unaware of the impending ambush. "remember team, we want the driver alive. Take out the tires and drag his ass out of that truck." But then they were shocked as the truck driver pulled over on the side of the road, and got out of the truck. The team took their chance however. In seconds they had knocked out the driver and dragged him into an undercover cop car.

Back at the station, the interrogation began. after some, "persuasion,' he spat out some information, but his info was shocking. He revealed that he was driving to a location to drop of some guns for the Freedom Fighters of Light, a terrorist group also involved in a terrorist bombing in Comorostan and the hijacking of a plane.

ANN news reports

A few hours ago we received a report of Hijim splinter cells in Egaigus engaging Albundanian military forces. according to the president Kyle Liszeo these terrorists are also being supplied by the black market here. The casualty reports put Albundanian army forces in the hundreds and Hijim in the thousands. More on this as news comes in.

Black markets are curious things. Stamp them out in one place, they grow in another. The tightest security measures cannot prevent their formation, only slow it. This is because illegal trade is a symptom of a larger problem; a sign of a market economy in which government interference is too pronounced, and an indication of prohibitive tariffs and taxes levied to prevent small businesses from successfully trading their goods.

There are several ways to deal with a situation like this one:

(1) Legalize the black market and bring it under control -- dealers can do what they like, provided they pay a cut of the earnings to the Government. In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the Crown adopted this policy with Saevitian pirates and smugglers to great success; the licensed privateers could raid what they liked without fear of reprisal, but also without the income disappearing into what to any Government is a financial black hole.

(2) Switch to a planned economy, and nationalize all industries. Despite the out-of-control black market, such a radical switch could be difficult for the nation to absorb without faltering, so it should be made slowly, over a period of several years. This will more or less reduce the black market to a shadow of its former self, providing control over industries such as arms and vehicles is maintained strictly.

(3) The 'moderate' option is to lower taxes and tariffs, and make it easier for small businesses to compete legally. This, combined with an increase in police funding, will make the majority of black market dealers realize it is not worth the trouble, and turn to legal means.

While Saevitia herself cannot provide you any assistance in an official capacity, if skilled military aid is required we do suggest contacting Sárdis, private military contractors, at 087-2-00-3354-8609, or sardis.sa/pmc.
