Preliminery report. Ministry of internal affairs.
Rating: Blue 8
Requiered data to follow
##############
Planet: Hithirvia
Designation: Ir35
Imperial presance: Large bio-research facility, compliment 6,000 personel
Status: unknown, comms lost
Recomended responses:
Dispatch small scout force
Dispatch a containment force to contain research if needed

Senier minister Ha'rar frowned at the report on the screen before him and read it again. The blue rating suggested a possable containment issue and 8 suggested something could be seriously wrong but the status grading was all wrong. Normaly it would be simply 'comm break down' but the one now suggested something darker. He had a bad feeling about this, Hithirvia was a bio-weapon reasearch facility working on 6 frozen lycanpire bodies, among other things. Sighing he tapped the second recomended responce. He'd regret this, he knew he would, but "better safe than sorry" as his mother used to say.

Hithirvia bio-weapons research facility
1 week later
The tranquil blue-green nebula around Hithirvia flowed slowly thrugh the system, almost hiding the hulking black shapes of the 3 Shinataru class bombardment ships and their 3 strike star escorts as they aproached the planet.

"Deploy the becons Mr Hakfin" the group leader said to one of the many men on the bridge of his bombarder, the Firefly. The man nodded and pressed a few buttons, causing 6 probes to launch from one of the torpedo banks and for them to set up and broadcast a warning signal, stating that a militery operation was in process and that only militery vessles should enter the system. "So then, ready the exploration teams" The captain said, rubbing his hands together as 6 men walked form the bridge.

OOC: Not sure exactly what genre this falls under so I didn't put it up there, sorry if I confused you atall.
Just post your force showing up to investigate the mysterious transmition about militery operations or what ever.

*EEP*
...
*EEP"
...
*EEP*

It's doing it again.
So? Have you checked it?
Yes, this one is not moronic.
*EEP*
It's been doing that for nearly a quaternity now...
The manual?
Checked it, obviously. What do you think this one is?
Nothing nothing...
*EEP*
And that's supposed to mean what exactly?
That's what we are finding out shocky, keep up.
I meant what you said!
*EEP*
Never mind what this one said! Just find out what the "EEP" is!

Thinking dark thoughts Oeatz O' Ooo approached the control panel and tapped the blinking light with a tendril, *EEP* it went as persistant as ever. He flicked the switch next to it, defying his search for peace it simply snapped back into place with an *EEP*.

It's starting to sound smug now...
Oh changing tides get a grip, we've been in space too long... Do you suppose it's one of those systems that will switch off only after we "resolve" the sitution?
Possibly. Why do you suggest such a thing?
*EEP*
The computer's got a lock on a system a small jump away...
And?
And one cant remove the lock...
Well the manu-*EEP*
Oh let's get over with then! Hit the accursed start button or whatever it is!

The M.R.A research vessel enveloped itself in a sub-space bubble, dropping down into another diemension but remaining paradoxically visible for reasons as yet unknown it shot away at excessive faster than light speeds towards the source of the persistant *EEP*.

-------------------

Detectable only through it's visibility it entered the signals source of origin, rapidly revealing a solar system they had entered a third of the way into the system when their sub-space bubble dissapeared allowing them to re-enter their own universe; suddenly visible to scanners they continued to enter the system at a high, although slow, velocity; firing their bow thrusters their simplistic scanners began taking minimilistic readings, missing everything smaller than a moon at their current range and consequently the native fleet. The cylinderical vessel blundered into the system, detectable by everyone, but unable to detect anyone themselves.

(OOC: Feel free to hail me or your usual response to an identified newcomer. My people are... inexperienced, with regard to space. Edit/Add: Must be off for tonight, will get back to it in roughly eight hours...)

Space within the system crackled to life, as a slip point appeared in the outer system, the energetic wormhole like portal let loose torrents of arcing electric tendrils that reached out in to the darkness of space. Coming through the portal was a ship, It was six hundred and forty two meters long, the portal flared out behind it collapsing in to an infinite point of darkness.

The ship slowed to a crawl, its three engines glowing white and blue hot with streams of particles fading off in to the distance behind it. The markings on the dorsal hull section read USS Odyssey. The large black letters had TFSN Markings under them and both where well lit by hull lights. The smooth hulled imposing ship moved towards the nebula.

The Bridge was quiet, holographic renditions of the star system, the sector and galaxy flickered to life at various stations through out the well lit bridge. The captain sat back in his leather like chair he folded his hands over his lap and started to speak as he looked up to the avatar that came to life in a flash of light.

“Do we have any thing on sensors?”

The avatar spoke back she looked down at the captain saying in response.

“Sir we are, detecting a ship in the system, unknown configuration, It dose not seem hostile..”

The Captain Raised an eyebrow and responded with an order as he looked up at the AI.

“Scan them and open hailing frequencies. Raise shields and move to intercept.”

“Aye sir”

The AI responded, the medium sized ships engines revved up crackling with power as the particle stream became longer, the ship turned to the upper right and started moving at speed towards the sensor contact, meanwhile an automated greeting message was sent out .

Greetings this is The Terran Federation Star ship Odyssey, we are on a survey mission of this area, and would like to offer a hand in communications with your people

The message was sent out on all EM bands sub space bands and D bands, It was a wide band transmission so any one could have heard it. The Titan class ship came to a slow crawl looming over the seemingly disoriented ship. The Captain just sat back in his chair folding his arms on his lap once more as sensor readings where fed in to three dimensional images. Maps of the system and general scans of the nebula appeared across tactical consoles and sensor stations. Officers went about their duties as normal. Avatars to the right and left of them assisting with any work . Two marines guarded the door to the Trans-lift, they had double barreled M-12 rifles with bayonets attached...

A flash. Of darkness. Another flash, one of pure purple. Then of yellow. Then of green.
The lands of the gods will quiver.
Flash.
The monsters of true gods will go, with few others lest the blood flow.
Rushing lights, full of colours known and unknown.
And find this place of organic knowledge
Everything stops, darkness falls. Silence.
And the many will become the few.
Screaming.

The creature's eyes flashed open, his noble and handsome features flickering with several emotions all at once. He flexed his armoured gauntlets, which whined with the servo-muscles in his arms squirming. He stood up from his kneeled position, and revealed his true form. He was a behemoth, a great giant, standing at over 8 feet tall, and covered almost entirely in blood-red armour plates. But his face was bare, revealing a darkly pale face and hauntingly grey eyes. His head was bald, a thick, pulsing veins were visible writhing, as though moving, across his skull. "The Ether has spoken." He whispered, his voice a surprisingly soft and smooth whisper.

The arms were anointed first. Holy oils splashed onto his vambraces, and dark runes were freshly written into his helmet. The thing that instantly attracted your view about this helmet were the great, jutting horns rising from out of the sides of the helmet. Their colour was a large contrast to the deep red of the warriors armour- they were bone white. The lowly mortal, his eyes plucked out and his tounge split into three, moaned in constant pain as he brushed more sacred liquids onto the assembled warriors' armour.

His Host had accepted his orders without comment- the Dark Gods had spoken through their most holy Apostle of the Grand Host, and to disobey would be blasphemous of the highest order. Five Astartes were picked, some of the Apostle's greatest warriors, each as devoted in their faith as the other.
"Most Revered One" Whined a small human, his body malformed and ugly. "Your ship is ready,co-ordinates set." The mortal was wise to keep his eyes down, for a slave to look at such a holy warrior was considered sin of the highest order. The Apostle did not bother answering.
"Dark Apostle, your warriors are ready and waiting for your orders." Said one of the other armoured giants, his face obscured by the giant helmet. This was Selkanus, one of the greatest marksmen in the entire Host. He was smaller than most, but this did not stop him holding his head high. But despite his pride, he dared not look the Apostle full in the face, nervousness clear on his pale features.
"Good." The monster murmered. Out of the six giants, the Apostle kept his helmet in the crook of his arm, numerous icons and devotional scripts hanging off hooks and spikes from his armour. "You must go now, alone, for it is the Gods' will. My visions have set my eye on a nearby system. I have no knowledge of what this place contains, only that you will go there. The rest...that is their will."

The small vessel blasted through into the material world, daemonic and unholy ripples flickering across it's hull. They had entered the system, hopefully under any type of sensor-the ship was small, small enough for such a tiny force to get as close as possible without being noticed. But on the other hand, if they were spotted, then that was the holy will. So it was no surprise that they were utterly confident.

*BEEP*

Oh not again...
What is it now?
This one does not know, A new reading perhaps?
Look, well, listen, to the bright side.
You mean what now?
Listen...

...

No "EEP"?
Exactly, it's a "BEEP" though, something else. Check the sensors yes?
Agreed...

Oeatz O' Ooo checked the consoles once more, looking over the screens wih two of his eight black beady eyes; seeing the new vessel heading towards them he turned and waved his companion Eai Oae Iietz over.

Look at this, a new vessel.
Bearing?
In front of us...
Ahh...

*BEEP*

I hate these computers...
A message... decoding...translating

*BEEP*

Translation complete. Iietz announced:

"Greetings this is The Terran Federation Star ship Odyssey, we are on a survey mission of this area, and would like to offer a hand in communications with your people"

Terran?
Yes more humans this one suspects.
At least they're generally friendly... Although these ones seems somewhat...
Determined? One had best inform the others.

Iietz moved to the ships internal comm console and put out a message to the others;

Attention, unknown vessels inbound, intentions, unknown, threat, high, hostility assessement, minimal, trajectory encourages trepidation on the matter.

Down in the Engineeriom the Head Operator Ietz Aetz Ietz picked up one of the ships communication speakers;

Shall this one prepare the Black-Box?

Would be wise yes.

Affirmative.

Iietz turned the comm off as he turned back to Ooo who was composing their response, he glanced back at him as he typed,

Switch off the bow thrusters, slow our momentum.

Iietz did so, a number of successive *BEEP*'s informed him of their messages release.

Message away Ooo said, Now we wait and see.

Greetings Odyssey of the Terran Federation, this is the Phale A'Theins Metropolitan-Regional Association researc vessel Flowing Currents. We are pleased to receive your offer of peaceful commnications and return the hand of friendship to your own kind; we do however request that you alter your course to at least run parrell to ours as opposed to an intercept course, it has a number of our crew members concerned. Thank you.

As this message was sent of the Phale A'Theins failed to notice the smaller vessel entering the system...

OOC: sprry it took me so long, wanted top see who responded and also had a lot of dusting to do...

IC: "Sir, we're picking up faint signals, scattered. Looks like the nebula is disrupting most of our sensor network, these things are huge thoe, probably why we can still see them." one of the younger officers on the bridge said into his comm link.
In the primery hanger bay the captain of the Firefly was pulling on his chest plates as he replyed "Can you tell if they're biological?"
"Not very acuratly, at a guess I'd say not, not even the lycanpires had anything short of a hive this big and the Phi-breeds haven't picked anything up"
"Send out a general hail, all frequencys, send the following message" the captain paused for a moment then proceeded "This is Captain Fir of the 5th containment group, If you can hear us please respond and head to the attached co-ordinates ((next to the group in case you're wondering)) so we can read each other clearer." he paused again then said "Attach our co-ordinates to the message and send it, we're ready to dispatch now, wish us luck." he placed his helemt on his head and entered the landing craft as the bay doors opened, filling the room with an erie glow.
"Very well sir, message sent, good luck"

The message was sent out from the firefly and relayed thrugh the closest becons to bolster its range in the nebula. Even as the message was bouncing off the first becon the lander was aproaching the 'orbital' elavater ((more like Lunar elaveter)) to begin its safe decent.

The small craft hung silently inside the nebula. It's refractal hull absorbed and twisted the light around it, further increasing the difficulty of using visual means to see it, and a number of heat sinks absorbed the heat from the craft's systems. It was, in esscence, invisible. The Baldur-class (http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z107/Kain1235/BaldurclassCarrier.jpg) Recon Vessel, nicknamed by the Marine Corps the 'Sabateur', it was the most advanced stealth craft the Void had to date.

Inside the craft, Captain Ambrose sat, leaning back in his chair, feet up on the control panel. The rest of the crew, another 19 men and women, were all asleep at this point, Ambrose having the night shift.
This is Captain Fir of the 5th containment group, If you can hear us please respond and head to the attached co-ordinates so we can read each other clearer.
Ambrose nodded and flicked a switch on the control panel of his chair, then spoke.
'Captain Fir, we read you. Heading over to your co-ordinates now." He flicked the switch again, turning off the hail, then announced to the empty room, "Watching from the shadows is a bad habit." He was answered by a chuckle.
"Very astute sir." A figure faded into view, a pale green woman dressed in a white toga and caligae. "Your senses never fail to amaze."
"You always give off a smell of rusted iron and blood."
"I like to fit the part."
"Can you start the engines, move us to those co-ordinates?"
"Yessir. Will do now."

On any watching sensors, an ion trail and heat signiature appeared, moving towards the Dragonan craft, broadcasting a Templarian friendly signiature.

The commander of the Firefly, filling in for Captain Fir, raised his brow as the Baulder class responded and began to drift towards them.... atleast he thaught it was towards them, the sensors were getting pretty messed up by a particulaly dense patch of the cloud that was drifting by
"Damn those covert ops! Why couldn't they choose a nice system like Klavar instead of this forsaken cloud!" he yelled to no one in particular, stoping abruptly as he was pistol whiped on the temple and draged to his quaters, another commander stepping up to take his place.

The Captain of the odyssey looked over to the avatar to his side as he heard the message he raised his hand and motioned to the avatar with his hand to comply with the aliens request, he shifted in his leather like chair looking out in to the mundane nebula, wondering what was in there. The sensors of the odyssey where being semi jammed by the radiation as well. The ship rumbled to life it maneuvered to coincide with the scout ship it had encountered, its massive body looming over the small ship slightly as it matched speed and course. The captain spoke out ordering with a vocal command to the avatar.

“Send them a message again.. This time ill speak”

a blip was heard and the captain began to speak out in a diplomatic yet confident voice.

“This is captain Jack Sturgess Well we do not mean to impose on your people, we have our shields online due to the radiation from the nebula , How ever we can modulate our shields to allow your ship to dock with ours if you wish.”

The bridge was quiet for a while the avatar suddenly appeared again saying to the captain in rather urgent toned voice.

“Sir we are detecting a transmission from the nebula it appears to be distorted I am attempting to clean it up.

Several moments passed, a blip was heard and the transmission came through, Jack rose up from his slumped position on his chair peering up to the distorted image. He started to bark out orders once more to the avatar standing besides him.

“Triangulate exactly where that’s coming from..”

The avatar responded.

“It will take several moments to sir.”

The Interference from the nebula prevented detection of any craft in the cloud or just out side of it, as the Odyssey was now in the halfborn distortion field of the EM waves generated by the nebula. The ship just floated there imposing on every thing around it. The cloud how ever did have a massive size advantage to the Titan class that was there. Sensors scanned the area trying to cut through the radiation and EM interference every thing but grav sensors and D sensors where non functional due to the emissions.

This one has found the audio control.
Thank goodness for that, what is the Terrans response?
It's not from the Terrans, listen;

Is that a language?
Was, the nubulae seems to be disrupting either their or our communications, they must be deep in the nebulae.
Ahh, same issue as encountered back home then, this one wonders why they haven't installed a relay.
Aliens, what can I say, we have another message...

This is captain Jack Sturgess Well we do not mean to impose on your people, we have our shields online due to the radiation from the nebula , How ever we can modulate our shields to allow your ship to dock with ours if you wish.

Formulating response...

Thank you for assuring us of your intentions, space is undeniably full of perils and ones can never be too careful. If you wish to initiate preliminary diplomatic talks with our people then we are willing to dispatch a shutte containing our diplomatic representative to your vessel. Otherwise we are perfectly fine in these conditions; we are intending to venture into the nubulae to investigate a possible signiture if you are willing to follow."

Shall we proceed now?
No, await their response. In the mean time one shall alert Zeetz of his upcoming mission.

The ship was dark. Quiet. Except for the constant chants of Mehnek, the Astartes chosen to be the commander of this operation, and the braziers hanging off the low ceiling of the vessel. Mehnek was a quiet man. He was not especially tall, not especially big. But he made up for this in pure faith and devotion. He was the type of creature you would look at and think: He' special. His face was handsome and dark, much like the current Apostle of the Host, many noticed when they saw him. Creatures of shadow coiled about his feet in translucent whisps, barely visible.
"Enemy activity. Location revealed." Said a monotone voice, over-cutting the repeating hymns singing on loop in the ships audio.
"Damnation." Hissed Heklar, the biggest of the five giants. Heklar was one of the most viscious of the Host's warriors, and was a demolitions expert of all kinds. He was the only of the five not to be a carrying the sacred weapons: Bolters. No, he was carrying a large flamer, numerous coils sprouting from the machine and into his back-pack. At the moment, he was blessing the sacred oils inside the weapon, praying to the Great Changer to give it strength in it's destruction of the non-believers.
"If it is their will. So be it." Selkanus said, sliding a magazine into his bolter. Bolters were huge weapons that required the strength of an Astartes to lift. Each was unique in it's blessings but single in it's purpose: the destrctions of the heretic corpse-worshippers. And in this case, xeno life-forms. Possibly humans. Either way they were standing in the way of the Bearers of the Word.

Bolters acomplished their tasks by using a very specialized form of bullet as amunition. It was a mass-reactive shell, the size a small child's fist, that exploded the milli-second it struck the surface of any material. No shell is wasted, as each of these Astartes was genetically altered to be an ultimate killing machine millenia ago. Those were the days of the Great Crusade. The days when the thrice-cursed Corpse-God, the "Emperor of Mankind" abandoned the Great Crusade to run back to Terra. That was when the Word Bearers, great Legion of Lorgar, had found the true, everlasting gods. Each warrior was a veteran of a million battles, each willing to die for their beliefs. The ultimate super-warriors.
"Prepare for possible attack. We have no idea how long this veil will hold. Get us down there." Heklar snarled at the grill next to his face, which led to the "man" operating the ship. Although "man" would be the wrong word. For this creature was one with the ship, no longer possessing of a human mind. Half metal, half Daemon, all monster. The assembled warriors all went quiet as Mehnek's eyes flashed open.
"The board is set, now we must play our parts. Let us pray." He whispered, black eyes boring into each and every one of them.

Firs' lander spred ever closer to the elevater and its' huge shaft containing roughly 40 elavaters.
"We're coming up to the elavater now Captain" a servater in the cockpit said clamly as it slowed the ship down to avoid the wall that looked to be made of syrup and had just apeared before them, cutting off thier path and utterly disintegrating the nebulae as it came in contact with it.
"So they did initiate a quantine..." Fir said to himself as he looked at the wall from the window
"Sir" a marine asked, lloking quizicle
"That, boy, is a void shield being emited by 786 individual generaters. If we touch it POOF" he claped his hands in the mans face to emphasize his point "we go bye bye, perminantly .As does everything else, perfect for quarentine wouldn't you say?" he said condesendingly as he shouted to his men "Load up boys an girls! we go in hot and secure the elevater system! ORAH?!"
"ORAH!" the troops shouted as one and swarmed to the boarding hatches
"When we're in, go back and pick up another few squads, have the other landers do like wise. Once we get the elevaters relay online we'll call you in" he said softly to the servater as it took the ship into a colosion course, speeding it up so it could force the docking clamps out of thier tubing when it stoped.

6 seconds later it DID stop and the clamps shot out into the waiting slots, clicking in place and pulling the lander further in.
"Lock and load troops, fan out, CTO pattern omega-3! MOVE OUT!" Fir roared as the doors opened and they began to file out...

Detecting the launch, the Templar's prepared a force to accompany the Dragonans. The captain, after suiting up in his armor (http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z107/Kain1235/MarineFootsoldier.jpg), stood in the pod bay of the Sabateur, a team of 10 men clambering into each of the 4 pods. He pulled a jack out of a wall socket and plugged it into the neck of his armor, downloading the ship's AI, Aquilina, into his armor. After a minute, he heard the AI speak through his helmet.
"I am on board sir. The ship is in the hands of XO Kasy'r."
"Good. Send a message to the Dragonans, ask them to tell us when we can get through that quarantine shield of theirs."
"Immediately, sir."

We're going in on the levels below and above the Dragonan's, 4 fireteams to a floor and 5 men to a fireteam. Clean sweep doctrine, maintain constant radio contact, and above all, zwaas swyt ef swy xoddz!" The soldiers chuckled as they left the pods and got into the small shuttle, which ferried them onto the elevator. Primaery should be to reach the comm array and activate it, we can reach most of the ships in the system then." Fir spoke calmly as he advanced down the pitch black corridor with 2 men, their night vission revealing the various doors and pillers of glass filled with clear liquids.

Coming to a large door with the drag-hur translation of 'S for T bay 1' stamped across it in large red letters. The doors seemed to be partialy open and, after several seconds of hacking the door controles they slid fully open to reaveal the scattered remains of over 50 dragona eggs and thier ocupents spread in some rather worrying shapes.

"Not much, just the remains of a hatchery. Most of the eggs are acounted for, but they've been smashed open, the young are spread out into Lcanthropic (for those who know who the Lycanpires are, Lycanthropic is thier language) glyphs." Fir said sarcasticly as he went over to pat the sobing marine on the shoulder, uttering something to him in Drag-hur and he imediatly stoped, a steely look in his eyes.
"Ambrose, I don't need to tell you what this means. Lycanthropic is a forbiden language, only a lycanpire can write it. Only a lycanpire could be crule enough to write it in this manner. I advise caution." he said into his comms before switching to his own channel "Listen up people, suspected Lycanpire presance, switch to heavys, anything that looks like a wolf, dies!"

Without further adoe Fir and his marines did a quick sweep of the room, finding only more crystaline-like Dragona egg fragments and more of the dead younglings from within, and moved on coming to a junction where 3 more marines were inspecting a large hole aparently knocked striaght thrugh a wall, one of them was looking at 3 longblack hairs thrugh her helmet optics, analyzing them.

Jack nodded to the avatar and motioned his hand for her to open a channel in reply, the channel blipped open and he started to spoke as he shifted up.

“This is agreeable, we will accept your proposal, please come un armed since its against regulations for non federation personal to be armed on our ships. We should offer an alterative to shuttles, we can beam you aboard quite easily at any rate, we will be accompanying you in to the nebula. Since we are an armed ship it would be wise for us to go-ahead.”

The odysseys’s engines flared up, streams of hot white particles flew from them as the massive ominous ands imposing cruiser began to cut through the thick dust cloud like a knife through butter, its hull was kept clear of particles a hull hugging anti particle field. This was indicated by occasional arcs of electric like energy that happened as larger particles struck the field. D sensors went on full scans as the ship rumbled in to the nebula.

The avatar appeared again over Jack she started to speak, as the lights of the bridge dimmed a bit. She said in a soft almost angelically smooth voice

“Sir we are detecting two ships, one small and one large, the larger one is... Dragonan- “ She was cut off , the captain stood up and started to bark out orders.

“Red alert, all hands to battle stations! Get me scans on that ship I want to know every thing about it and open a Chanel”

Suddenly alarms started to blare through the ship, klaxons whined, the bridge became dark, red lights began to blare throughout the ship officers began running around t to their stations.

“Aye sir” the avatar said , a blip was heard again and jack started to speak once more in a commanding serious tone.

“This is the Terran Federation Ship Odyssey to Dragonan vessel, we request to know what happened here, and what you are doing close to federation space”

The avatar looked over to the captain and said the results from the scans.

“Sir we are detecting heavy damage to the ship and life forms abord, It is unknown where they are from, but we are also detecting active Dragonan life forms on the ship...”

Jack looked over to the executive officer Commander Kate Malone , he motioned her over and she followed, he spoke out and said.

“I want you to take a contingent of naval special forces over, lets see what the hell happened over there , beam in to the unoccupied section of the ships , take an engineer and a medical officer..”

“Yes sir, I hope what ever we find over there isn’t hostile..”

“Don’t worry Kate.. If your in trouble we’ll pull you out.”

The female smiled, she went off of the bridge through two transpad double doors, her body shimmered in to nothingness with a bright white light as she transported her self to the armory. Appearing in another flash of light, he motioned three NSOU (Naval Special operations unit) officers towards her. They where dressed in all black semi powered armor.

She spoke out.

“All-right heres what we’re going to do, we are going to beam over to that ship, I want six of you, I need an engineer and a medical officer.”

Her eyes where blue, her brown hair put up in to a pony tail.

Several moments passed, the team was ready, they walked out of the armory in full gear. Black adaptive armor with a bio skeletal layer under it, fully masked with opaque visor’s, Personal cloaks. They entered the marine transporter room, each of them activated various devices on their armor tapping a few buttons, they all disappeared as if they were never there. Kate nodded and said

“Energize”

The trans dimensional teleproter engulfed all of them in bubbles of white and blue crackling light. On the ship they would appear in an empty spot, the only thing any one would be able to see where crackling energy forms with the outlines of humnoid beings, and then nothing.

They could all see each other through D and psionlinks, they would know where they where, they split out forming a defensive formation around the commander. Kate spoke through the psion link.

“Scan for life forms, stay in squads of three. Ill go with squad two , do not shoot to kill unless absolutely necessary , if we find people alive or any one else on this ship attempt diplomatic contact first . We need to learn every thing we can about these Dragonan’s “

“Yes ma’am”

Said L.T Sheridan, as his squad moved towards a corridor towards the others in the ship unknowingly, the nebula was still disrupting their sensor readings partially, Kates group went the other direction towards what they thought would be a computer terminal.

The Odyssey was on full tactical alert, her disruptor arrays where charged and ready , SKV tubes where loaded and all torpedo banks where ready to fire at a nano seconds notice.

The Dragonan’s had demonstrated their imperialist aggressive routines with various unjustified invasions. This could have been a trap and they did not want to take that chance.

Composing response...

Our atmosphere is of a different composition to yours, to attempt such a teleportation would transport an unpleasent excess of unwanted material. We will dispatch our representative in a shuttle, if you wish you may beam the shuttle on board your vessel.

As the Federations larger vessel set off to plough through the nebulae the Phale A'Theins smaller vessel dropped into position behind it, far enough behnid to be safe from any exhaust ejections from it. A small pod detached from the side of vessel, speeding towards, and around the Federations Vessel it awaited it's apparent teleportation.

OOC: Dont forry TFU, I'm not so nooby any more, this should be rather... proper.

From the gloom of the nebula the considerably smaller forms of the strike stars emerged around the Odyssey, thier large cannons swiveling to point at anything that looked important. The Odyssey was clearly on some sort of high alert and, being Dragona, they didn't want to be caught off guard. From a little further in the nebula the firefly and the 2 other Shinataru ships' giant cannons swiveled into positions where they could launch heavy rouunds at her if needed.

The strikestars began to probe the ship while one of them sent out a holographic signal to try and establish contact.

On the station, as Kate reached the display terminal she'd found and the other team headed down the corridor a small *meow* sounded out from the shadows behind a semi-transparent collum and two pairs of clear blue eyes glistened out at her.

The Dragona marines had, meanwhile, finished analyzing the hairs they had found and breathed a collective sigh of releaf
"Nova cats sir" the mairne said smiling
"Mmm, but that still leaves the matter of this large gapping hole does it not? Stay on your toes and stick together."

"Captain Ambrose, be advised we're detecting transporter lock on the station, coming from a newly arrived ship. Looks like an unknown craft sir."
"Shit, that's all we need. Guess we'll had to be the mediators here, these scaleys still have that 'you on my turf' mentality. I do so hate that word. Can you patch my comm into the hail system, Aquil?"
"On it sir." A few seconds passed as the marines checked their corners. "Right sir. Go."

Unknown craft, this is Captain Ambrose, Void Templarian Navy. Now, I don't mind you blowing the Dragonans to hell but keep us out of the crossfire. Could you ID yourself?

The ship was a Stormbird- one of the oldest patterns of ships that had been used back in the Great Crusade, several millenia ago. Now, the pattern was extinct, the newer, much bigger version- the Thunderhawk, was used by the cursed Imperium now. The Host was in possession of a few of these ships, but Stormbirds were most certainly the prominent pattern in the ship bays these days. It was not as heavily amoured, but was quick, much more quick, than it's scions. It flew across space, as quickly as it could, to maintain it's concealed shell. The enemy was getting restless, and soon their cover would be blown. But hopefully it would not come to that, as the ship neared the facility by the second.

"I wonder what this planet contains that the Apostle himself would send us over there." Mused Selkanus to Joasshlim over a private vox channel. Joasshlim was the smallest of the five warriors, but more than made up for it with his incredible swordsmanship and agility. It was grumbled by many of the higher tiers of the Word Bearers that Joasshlim strayed too close to the sole worship of Slaanesh, the Dark Prince of Pleasure. But he was famous across the entire Host, so few rarely challenged him. Those that did however, usually ended up the same way. Apart from of course, the last person to question him- The Dark Apostle Hirusol.
"I'm sure it will be most interesting, whatever it is." Joasshlim whispered, his fingers tapping upon the hilt of his power sword.
"Perhaps." Selkanus grunted.
"We are nearing the area the Dark Apostle indicated, brothers. We will be descending in three minutes exactly." Wins-Fuhl hissed, his helmeted head turning to the gathered wariors. "Whatever the warp is down there, we will be seeing it soon enough."
"Void Shield detected. Threat: High. Death probability: 100%. Adjusting course to accomodate." Said the ship's driver over the speakers.

The ship flew close to the large elevator, lights flashing on to see for enemy presence. It was hard to tell what was new or old, but there were no life forms as far as sensors could detect. After a minute, the ship touched down. Thanks to the dark crimson of the shell, the only thing clearly visible upon the ship was the sacred symbol of the Word Bearers: The Latros Sacrum. The face of a roaring daemon engulfed in flames. The inhabitants of the ship didn't bother to check if the air was breathable, if not, their helmet would quickly seal off and start supplying them with it's own oxygen. As the heavy bolters positioned on the sides and front of the Stormbird scoured the area, the back opened up, a huge ramp slowly lowering to the ground. The five warriors stormed out in a tight defensive formation around Mehnket, their heavy boots making a loud thud as they touched the ground. Heklar was on point, his flamer turning as he looked for any signs of xeno presence. After a few moments, they each lowered their weapons.
"Clear." declared Wins-Fuhl. Selkanus grunted.
"This is some sort of elevation platform. We need to find something that'll take us down."
"Bunval, stick with me. The rest of you, search the area for anything." Mehnket said, his archaic bolter firmly against his chest.

OOC: So, what's the layout of the elevator, is it one huge platform, a normal "modern" elevator? Gimme details :P

Upon seeing the unknown vessels surround their supposed hosts the Phale A'Theins switched off their engines and masked their signatures; dissapearing off the radar they became an obscure piece of junk quickly dropping behind the Odyssey; even the Phale A'Theins transport did the same. Through this however they maintained a tenuous secure/private link with the Federations vessel, simply they inquired;

Are these newcomers safe? The last thing we wish is to be crushed between giants.

Jack stood up from his command chair looking at the various sensor readouts, his eyes widened a bit. Quickly he looked over to the avatar that was at one side of the bridge.

“Looks like we have company.. I have an idea”

The captain said as he moved over to the tactical holo map, several officers centered around it, the avatar moving by as well asking:

“What is it sir?”

The captain grinned leaning upon the edge of the projection table his uniform well pressed and well ironed over his form. He said with a low toned voice.

“If they want to fire or get a lock on us, they’re going to have to come in here to get us, especially when we increase power to our ECM. I want them to come to us.. I want you to transport mines near those volatile gases around that station and around us, set them to proxy detonate, When they come in here and get close to those mines this place is going to light up like a Christmas tree. When we see them coming in close I want an emergency beam out of all personnel from that station foreign or otherwise , tractor that scout ship and punch the engines to full power.”

The avatar nodded, an officer interjected after the captain was done.

“Sir we have an incoming communication from our friends. They wish their shuttle to be beamed aboard.”

The captain nodded and said

“alright beam them In and beam me to the shuttle bay. L.T commander Richards, you in command.”

He pointed towards a younger officer who was sitting at the helms control, that officer promptly got up and nodded to the captain. Jack was suddenly enveloped in a flash of white and blue light, he dissipated in to the air like a specter, Richards took the con swiveling the chair around to look at the forward holo monitor . Folding his hands he signed motioning the avatar to go-ahead with the mine laying.

Mean while in the shuttle bay the captain had appeared next to the docking rig, a flash of light enveloped diplomatic shuttle and had brought it in, its form crackled in to existence before the captain, his eyes peered at it as two officers walked in behind him, Jack smiled his eyes focusing on the new ship, he of course was going to have to tell them that he’s mining the nebula but with their information on the dragonas it would be easy to sell.

Richardson had to compose two responses. One to the Void ship and one to the utopian ship. Not his first time in command and not a stranger to situations like this, he knew what to do , he spoke out in a diplomatic voice, his voice was higher pitched than jack’s but no less professional. Both communique where sent via tight beam transmissions.

“This is the Terran Federation star-ship Odyssey to unknown ship, We represent the United Terran Federation. We’re usually peaceful but these dragonas’ or what ever they are called are highly aggressive and we should warn you they have ships attempting to lock weapons on us, thankfully our ECM with the nebula's interference should jam them so they have to get close when that happens and they start getting close I want your people to either gun their engines or we’ll have to transport you aboard we wont say why right now since we don’t know if you’re a rouse from them. But just trust us.. “

He raised his hand and motioned the avatar to open a second Chanel to their new diplomatic contacts. A blip was heard and Richards started to speak once more.

“Alright We don’t know who the new contacts that just spoke to us are, but we do know the dragonan’s are becoming aggressive again we have engaged red alert because of their past actions against various nations. We want to advice you that we have begun transporter mining the nebula around us and the various pockets of volatile gas in here, we set out sensor status to ECM. We have ships trying to lock on weapons from the out side, this will coax them in. Those mines are on proxy detonate, If they come in they will explode, and we’re going to lock on a tractor beam to your ship and gun our engines. This place will turn in to a massive plasma explosion. So if we lock on a beam don’t be alarmed”

Flashes of bright lights could be seen near oddly glowing clouds of dust and gas, small back pack sized metal objects floated freely concealed by the gases. More and more of these began appearing around the nebula the station and the ship, these where high yield anti matter mines all set to proxy detonation.

Mean while on the station the Sargent quickly motioned his soldiers to take cover, he him self rushed over behind a fallen bulk head , they all raised their double barreled M12 rifles set to automatic and kill settings, their visor born sensors began giving readings, their sonics began going on the fritz to detect what ever was there.

Kate looked back and raised an eyebrow at the blue eyes she held her rifle out and spoke out. She was invisible from visual identification thanks to her optical cloak. So was her team and the rest of the Special forces on the station.

“Who’s there identify yourself.!”

She said this in a tough tone of voice, her visor scanning what ever was looking at her thoroughly.

Meanwhile the mines where being set rather well even if the dragonas managed to shoot at the odyssey with their in nebula ships they would risk detonating the mines and destroying themselves.
Richards motioned the avatar and said with a soft voice.

“Flood every thing with static and Communications jamming I don’t want these ships in here to get wind of our plan and then message their friends. But send some thing right before we engage the Jamming field. “

He coughed again starting to speak as he stood up from the chair.

“This is the Terran Ship Odyssey to the Dragona ships within this nebula, we know of your history of senseless aggression and we consider you a threat by the time you get this message you will notice your lack of ability to communicate with your comrades outside of this patch of gas. This is because we have started to jam your communications abilities you can still communicate with us bur not with your forces on the out side. And if you do plan to attack us. Take in to account the multi gigaton yield anti matter mines we have just beamed near various patches of volatile gases and around your station and ships any attack will set those off, and Once they go, well... we sure as hell wont be here to find out. But im pretty sure you and your friends will if they make the wrong move.”

The ship floated in the gaseous nebula, its engines glowing blue hot ready to engage a tactical slip jump to the out side of the system. The jamming field of the odyssey also doubled as a Faster Than light inhibitor to all but their own type of faster than light.

The Dragona had concluded that the holographic message wasn't able to get thrugh and were in the process of compiling a text response when they recived the terran message.

Rapidly the message was changed and sent. It now read
'To Terran ship. Our pressance here is simply to contain any hostile organisams from the planet in the system. We have no hostile intentions towards you and are responding in what we feel is an apropriate manner to a ship that has jammed our comunications, ftl drives and entered our system on high militery alert. Notice that we have yet to fire, perhapse if you had taken this into acount you would have considered us more mature than that now.

It is now irelavent as you no doubt recived our transmition specifying nothing short of a militery vessle should enter the system (if we were hostile would we really do something like that?). This was because the planet is a bio-research facility, chosen because of the nebulaes sensor inhibiting qualaties. It was deemed too dangerous for civilian ships to enter the system, but given that the floating scrap pile behind you seems to have consiously stoped it seems the message was ignored by some.

Again that is no longer relevant, we simply ask that you stand down your militery alert, for now atleast, and assist us in our mission and in return we shall do like wise' To emphasize thier point the strikestars large cannons swivled back into thier origional positions and locked down.

Onboard the station the eyes *meow*ed again and a large, jet black cat (http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh161/dragonsclaw56/Novacat.jpg)swaggered out of the shadows, staring straight at Kate, almost as if it could see her.

Since you are intent on rendering the entire area a virtual deathtrap and yet are concerned with our safety we would be obliged if you simply went ahead and teleported both the pod and our vessel on board your ship if possible; that way we will be safe from the blast and can proceed with more... friendly talks... we are attaching the co-ordinates of our vessels if you deem this acceptable.

Most of the lights were out, but their helmets' visors cut through the dark with ease. They were utterly silent, a feat seeming almost impossible with their large bulk and armour. Joasshlim went left, down a small corridor that he had to crouch down to walk in. Selkanus stopped to look at the area around him.
"This place is huge. It would take us months to find a way down." He said over a open vox channel to the entire team.
"Perhaps.." Heklar responded. "I myself have been looking at some of these machines. Some of them seem to be working. Others not so much..."
"Could you find some sort of map?"
"No need. I think I've found something." Joasshlim cut in, his almost hissing voice purred. "A large door. I think it leads to a hanger of some sort."
"Beware xeno deception." Bunval growled.
"As always..." Joasshlim said dismissively, his voice crackling as the vox encountered interference. Heklar had disapeared minutes ago, leaving Seklanus alone in the echoing corridors and dark corners. He smirked. He was about to reply when Mehnket's voice sliced into the conversation.
"Brother Joasshlim is correct. The hanger contains numerous elevators, which will lead us down to the station below. We will regroup there." Uncaring of how their Lord had known this information, the warriors stopped their advance, and by following the indicators on their unholy and daemon-head helmets, made their way back to their battle-brother.

Mehnket turned to Bunval, the icons and scriptures tied to his armour swinging in the cool air of the area. "Brother." Bunval lowered his head. "Prepare your explosives, and be quick. The Gods watch our moves with keen interest."

IC: The coridor around Joasshilm were chared and littered with tanks of flamable gasses, thousands of expended weapon rounds and clips and even several destroyed auto turrets. There was a large hole in part of the floor and from bellow a sickly blue green glow shone from the nebula outside (being held at bay by a forcefield), iluminating the chaos marine's armoured bulk in a half light. From the ceiling there was an odd scittering, as of an insect scurrying to an fro, every now and then it would stop and ther would be a *clang* as something hit the ceiling.

The group found Joasshlim staring down a large corridor.
"By the dark gods!" Heklar cursed, swinging his heavy flamer towards the scene, as the warirors took in the area with disgust. Wins-Fuhl hissed, pulling Heklar back a step. "Be careful brother, this place is full of flammable gases." It was true, some of the tanks had been pierced, and a faint hissing could be heard as the gas escaped into the room. "Your flamer would complicate matters, to put it lightly." Heklar looked sharply at his weapon, and lowered it. Mehnket raised his hand, turning the group silent.
"Do you hear that?" He whispered, taking a foot forward, and bathing it in a sickly green glow from the hole torn from the corridor's floor. Skittering. From the ceiling. Then a loud clang. "Melee weapons." He said, chaining his bolter to his side. Saying that, he drew a large, two-handed, double-edged chainsword from it's scabbard. The rest did the same. Seklanus drawing a smaller, one handed chain-sword, Heklar a large axe, and the others power swords. As one, they all took a step forwards, scriptures and seals bolted to their armour fluttering in the air.

OOC: So, how large is this hole? Does it take up the entire floor or...?

As the group pressed forwards, Bunval looked up slightly, the horns of his helmet scraping the ceiling. "Somethings-" A huge, tentacled creature burst through the ceiling in a huge, resounding screech. Menhket was enveloped by the monsters large mass, even his large form disapearing underneath it. Selkanus took a step back, his face, although hid behind his helmet, turning into a look of pure hatred.
"XENOS!" He roared, as the monster replied in a sound of pure, monstrous blood-lust. It reared up and charged, straight at Heklar. The warrior screamed back, rushing straight for the creature, his chain-axe whirling. "For Lorgar! For The Great Gods of the Warp!" He charged, faster than his bulk would seemingly allow, swinging his axe in a large arc, aimed straight for the creature's central mass. It however, was quicker, lashing out with a dark tentacle, blasting the ranting Heklar backwards into the side of the corridor, making a huge dent as he skidded across and clipped Wins-Fuhl's side, sending his power sword slicing into the wall. Bunval smashed into the creature, his two hands gripping the hilt of his power sword as he tried to rip the creature asunder. But the monster was keeping him at bay with it's several tentacles. Suddenly, there was a horrendous sound of meat being torn apart as the whirling teeth of a huge chainsword screamed through several of the xeno monstrosity's flashing arms. Mehnket shouted in hatred as the tentacles scored deep slashes across his helmet as he drove his weapon deeper into the enemy. "Blood for Lorgar!" He shouted as thick blood washed over him.

Mehnket was thrown back, his armour scrimshawed with scratches and dents. The monster reared, it's numerous tentacles flashing as it screamed. Then, it suddenly disapeared form their view for a few moments. But then, their helmets re-adjusted, and the xeno appeared before them again, but this time half-way down the hall way. The creature was escaping quickly, it's tentacles sliming across the hall, pushing over Mehnket as it whirled past in a rage. As it went, it oozed a thick, black ooze, that melted the floor as it went. Mehnket was caught under some of the slime, but his powerful ceramite armour allowed him to quickly wipe it off without too much damage. The rest of the coridor, on the other hand, was coated with the stuff. With a start, the rest of the team realised that the hole in the middle of the corridor was beginning to widen.
"This place is going to collapse!" Joasshlim hissed, his power sword still drawn in a offensive stance.
"Do not let the enemies of the dark live, for it is a blasphemy unto Lorgar and Chaos." Quoted Mehnket, rising his still whirring weapon in his two, bloodied gauntlets. "After it! Do not let the xeno draw another breath!" He shouted, charging down the corridor.
