Karrakiv United Arms Ltd.

History

Karrakiv United Arms was established well before the formation of The Democratic Federation of Baltic States to produce weapons for Balakarrasia in its wars against the bordering states. At this time Karrakiv United Arms Ltd. was mostly producing other companies weapons under licence.

Upon the formation of The Democratic Federation of Baltic States, and hence the end to these conflicts demand dropped. As the most experienced small arms company in the region the new Government sponsored Karrakiv United Arms Ltd to invest in a new and competitive weapons system. Somewhereistonia had until last year been using the outdated stocks from before the union.

Overview

With the implementation of the new Modular Automatic Weapon System (MAWS) across the police and armed services of the Baltic Federation last year the company has seen the weapons effectiveness in trials and effective usage. Due to the armed forces not being involved in any international disputes at present, the government agreed that some military units were to be given the weapons early and put under high pressure field exercise to test the weapons capability. The results suggest that jams are rare, and that the guns are easy to use and highly accurate.

The early adoption scheme allowed Karrakiv United Arms Ltd to correct any defects before widespread product roll-out. Due to the corrected defects (including a redesign of the magazine holder) and the production of a 7.76 variety it is actually the Mk. 2 versions that are now up for international sale.

The experimental designs have been a success with all reports from police, border guards and the armed services reporting good reliability. As yet the MAWS has not been tested in a war, however the company is confident that it will not disappoint.

The MAWS system is highly modular with easy variations open to the customer upon purchase. Due to many states preferring to use bull pup rifles over conventional rifles and vice-versa, Karrakiv United Arms Ltd has produced both to a similar design to allow the customer to choose what is most ideally suited to them.

Along with the MAWS system Karrakiv United Arms Ltd. Is releasing for general sale its long time favourite among Balakarrassian personnel, the KUA Dragon A1982 pistol.

As well as the newly produced 15mm grenade and riot control pistol the KUA Firespinner S2008. The Firespinner has just been cleared for general sale although full trials are now just beginning.

Specifications for all these can be seen below.

These modular guns have three modes of firing (single shot, burst of 3, and full auto) as well as an easy to use safety catch. The rifles are fully ambidextrous due to the forward ejection of empty cases and are made of carbon fibre reinforced-poly amide and pressed steel (for the receiver) making this weapon hugely durable under stress testing.

The weapon is gas powered with air cooling vents above the chamber and barrel to ensure high reliability. A simple but effective rotating bolt system is used to keep accuracy high whilst reducing the likelihood of a jam. The stock of the weapon houses a cleaning and modification kit to allow weapon cleans easily in the field without the need to carry extra equipment. The barrel is free floating to increase accuracy and uses a 1:7 rifling twist.

All MAWS weapons come with a dual compact 3.5 x scope coupled as a x1 red dot sight as standard. There is also an iron sight underneath the sight with the foresight situated at the front of the carrying handle. The front grip is easily removed to reveal a 35mm rail to which any component can be attached. Such potential attachments include: grenade launchers, fold down fore grips, laser sights and bipods among many others.
Options:

The MAWS 1 can also be fitted with a 100Rd C drum magazine: $50 each

The sight can easily be replaced with another scope or sight with a 35mm rail attachment.

KUA MAWS 7.76 Mk.1

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t38/unreal229/gundes8.jpg?t=1234311214

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t38/unreal229/gundes7.jpg?t=1234311233

This is identical to the MAWS 1&2 except that a longer, heavier silenced barrel is fitted and the chamber has been redesigned to accommodate the larger 7.76 mm (NATO) round for increased accuracy. Although not a traditional sniper rifle it has been accommodated to fit the sharp-shooter role in any unit. The full automatic function has been removed from the 7.76 variety due to the blowback force being too large to accurately fire several rounds at a time. The barrel for the 7.76 version has a 1:12 rifling twist.

Barrel length: 690 (bullpup), 620 (conventional)
Weight: 6.1Kg (bullpup), 5.9Kg (conventional)
Range: 1100M
Due to higher production costs the 7.76 variety retails at $4100

Note: this weapon can be fitted with either a 10rd or a 30rd magazine (both supplied as standard) and NOT the 100rd C-Mag.

KUA Dragon A1982

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t38/unreal229/gundes6.jpg?t=1234311256

The KUA Dragon has been in service with Balakarrassian personnel for nearly 30 years, however due to the strict rules regarding the peace treaty that created Somewhereistonia it has not been available for general sale until now. A favourite among officers for its reliability and sleek appearance this was the first weapon produced entirely by Karrakiv Arms as it was then known.

The Dragon A1982 Mk. 5 is a semi-automatic blowback pistol and the simple design has meant that the weapon is unlikely to break. Some of the first Mk.1 Dragon pistols are still in service is some parts of Somewhereistonia, whilst these are now being phased out to favour the smaller 9mm ammunition this proves the reliability and durability of these weapons. The weapon is made primarily of steel.

Cost: $500
Calibre: 9mm Parabellum (NATO)
Length: 245mm
Length (barrel): 160 mm
Weight: empty 1.35kg
Magazine Capacity: 15 rounds
Muzzle Velocity: 300m per second
Effective Range: 70M

This weapon is available in both block and silver. Special orders of this weapon can be made on request and our experienced weapon smiths have previously made a variant with gold plating to order.

http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t38/unreal229/gundes5.jpg?t=1234311279

The KUA Firespinner is a newly patented and revolutionary design of pistol able to fire any 15mm cartridge. These cartridges are specially made for this weapon by Karrakiv United Arms Ltd. and are not available anywhere else. Despite the fact that this is a pistol it still requires the use of both hands for effective and safe usage, however it is smaller and thus easier to store than conventional grenade launchers and anti-riot equipment.

The weapon has a rotating magazine that can hold 10 cartridges. The Firespinner is made out of steel and polymer to increase strength. The workings of the internal components are to a large extent classified. The gun is fitted with iron sights however a 35mm rail is easily attached and is included in the price so any sight can be attached.

Cost: $3800
Calibre: 15mm cartridges.
Length: 276mm

The bullpup layout can only be used for a few weapon types. It is prohibitively difficult to design a bullpup belt-fed weapon, since the belt and its links require that both sides of the weapon are unobstructed. This weapon would also require a more complicated shell-ejection mechanism. Drum magazines and relatives, such as C-mags use up too much space to be comfortably positioned in the weapon's stock. These issues could prevent the development of flexible, modular weapons that can be easily modified from an infantry role to a Squad Support role. (in reference to a drum-fed MAWS-2 bullpup)

Still, interesting designs. You should consider signing up for the NS Draftroom (http://z4.invisionfree.com/NSDraftroom/index.php?act=idx), where weapons designs are peer-reviewed.
