The Confederated Peoples of the Resurgent Dream has a generally open embassy policy. We will accept embassies from any nation willing to abide by basic principles of diplomatic courtesy and will send embassies to any nation willing to provide reasonable guaranties of safety to our personnel. The Confederated Peoples recognizes in full the Vienna Convention, including diplomatic immunity for all embassy personnel other than Confederal nationals and extraterritoriality. However, there is one caveat on extraterritoriality. Slavery is effectively prohibited in all embassies to the Confederated Peoples on the grounds that Confederal law guaranties freedom to any person who, even for an instant, makes it to Confederal territory. As this includes airspace, it is simply impossible to get any enslaved person to an embassy in the Confederated Peoples without having them freed under our law. This provision cannot be avoided by using near-human species your nation has declared to be animals. What matters under Confederal law is the Confederal definition of personhood. The transport of artillery, armor, or military aircraft over Confederal territory for the purpose of arming embassies is also prohibited. Security forces must limit themselves to small arms.

Asiom was granted an embassy in New Amsterdam with fairly little trouble. However, response on the other requests of that government was not as shift. The Department of Foreign Affairs informed the Asiomite government that, in light of the relative recentness of Asiom's emergence on the international scene and the current ignorance of even top policy makers regarding Asiomite culture, economy, and politics, discussion of a Free Trade Agreement and a Non-Aggression Pact would have to be put off until the Confederals knew more. However, the Asiomites were assured, the Confederated Peoples did not make a habit of aggression with or without formal pacts.
