Southern Cross Airport (Open to all)

Cranan Su (Southern Cross) airport is now nearing completion, the airport is in fact the upgraded Asylum regional airport. It boasts two exceptionally long heavy duty runways capable of taking most, if not all, wide body jets. It's terminals can handle most aircraft though odder designs will have to state their nature so that the gates can be adapted.

It's location means that it has clear skies, both in the way of aircraft and weather, and can operate 24/7, being far enough away from the city of Asylum that noise is not an issue. But it is close enough that it's high speed rail link to Solum Street station links it into the high speed rail network of the south east of the region. The near by Cranan Su port allows for various fuels to be brought in for airliners that require exotic and unusual fuel. The sealed freight trains mean that there is no tax to be paid as the fuel does not 'enter' the commonwealth.

It is open to all air lines with the proviso that they the aircraft used are civilian and unarmed (though missile countermeasures are allowed).

Currently there are four terminals nearing completion.

Terminal One: Airlines flying to other parts of the region.

Terminal Two: Charter and infrequent users of the airport.

Terminal Three: Scheduled Air Lines.

Terminal Four: High security for use by airlines that require higher security than is normally expected of an airport however the use of this terminal comes at a premium. For an additional fee airlines from nations with higher than normal security requirements can base a small number of their own security personnel to ensure that the security level required is enforced.

Royal Mail Postal Terminal: Used by the commonwealth's mail*

Freight Terminal under construction: Stop gap measures are in place.

Slots will be assigned on a first come first served basis and the earlier they are claimed the cheaper they are and transit between terminals can be carried out without 'entering' the commonwealth as an air side underground rail link is in place.

Though my airport does not cater for armed aircraft, with prior warning the RAF has a base that will accommodate such craft. How ever I have to emphasise the prior waring part as the RAF will fire upon unexpected aircraft due to their standing orders when it comes to such craft. They might warn if they see them early enough.

Alfegos Airship Travel Consortium

Representing: SkyLiners Corporation, Alfegos Long-range Haulage (Airship Division), Cloud Scrapers Corporation, Alfegos Aeronautics Business Registration, AeroTransit Incorporated

The Alfegos Airship Travel Consortium wishes to enquire as to the availability of facilities for airships at the new airport development.

The companies represented by the Consortium are the larger airship operators in Alfegos, covering approximately 87% of the Alfegan airship operation market and 42% of the global airship operation market. Airships are often considered an archaic form of transport, yet the demands of modern goods transport in terms of a compromise between time and fuel efficiency means that an airship is the best possible compromise. The majority of Alfegan airships are used for the transport of cargo, with a smaller segment of the market devoted to airship cruise liners and private luxury airships.

Due to the relative scarcity of airship-capable airports outside of the region of Nova, save for in some allied states, airship-capable airports are often very profitable, with large amounts of custom to such airports from most airships. The widespread use of airships in Alfegos also means that any current trade operations would be multiplied by the increase in access to your nation's airport, further increasing profitability of such an airport.

Since the majority of airports are not compatible with both airships and aircraft, it is recommended that modifications to such an airport are carefully considered with a specialist consulting agent. In this circumstance, it would be wise for any recommendations to be placed to the "Consultation Division" of "Alfegos Aeronautics", a specialist multi-national corporation manufacturing airships, arms and armaments as well as being the leading airship sale company for the market outside of Alfegos.

Therefore, we would like to ask whether you could rate your airport using the scale below. If it does not fit into any of the categories, then relevant consultation with Alfegos Aeronautics should mean that any modification to the airport is as cheap and efficient as possible, pleasing both sides of the deal.

Landing is defined as being within two metres of a surface upon which cargo can be unloaded, measured from the lowest point on the cargo gondola.
Mooring is defined as an airship being attached to the ground to prevent movement for a period no less than three hours.
Airships can land and be moored over water or any reasonably flat surface, as long as facilities can be provided for the unloading and loading of cargo and any of the criteria set below for airport classification.

Class E
- Ability for airships up to 150m in length to land, but not to moor.
- No specific dedicated service for refuelling airships, and no facilities for buoyancy gas replenishment.
- No maintenance facilities.
- Shared use with other airport users.
- No storage hangers.
> Such craft that would be able to land include very few cargo lifters and some air yachts.

Class D
- Ability for airships up to 300m in length to land, and airships up to 150m to moor.
- Limited ability to refuel airships, no service for replenishing airship buoyancy gas.
- Shared use with other airport users.
- Possible airship maintenance.
- No storage hangers.
> Would only take short-to-mid range cargo haulers and a few cruise liners.

Class C
- Ability for airships up to 600m in length to land, and for airships up to 300m to moor.
- A dedicated airship refuelling service, and limited access to airship buoyancy gas replenishment service.
- Possible base dedicated maintenance staff.
- Semi-shared use with other airport users.
- Storage/Maintenance hangers/Areas for airships up to 150m.
> Such an airport would be able to take all short and mid-range cargo/passenger liners, with the majority of non-Novan international airports being rated at this level.

Class B
- Ability for airships up to 800m in length to land and to moor.
- A dedicated refuelling and buoyancy agent replenishment service.
- Separate area for airships to land and moor.
- Dedicated maintenance teams for airship services.
- Storage hangers for airships up to 450m length.
> Such an airport would be able to take most Alfegan airship traffic, and would be designated an international hub by most airship operators. Airports of this class include Skyhaven International Airport in Lamoni.

Class A
- Ability for airships up to 1000m in length to land.
- On-site mass storage/production facilities of fuel and buoyancy gases.
- Dedicated maintenance areas for all airship sizes.
- Separate landing/mooring area for airships.
- Storage hangers for airships over 450m in length.
> Such an airport could take all Alfegan airship classes, and would likely be specialised just for airship traffic. Very few of these airports are found outside of Alfegos, due to the low proliferation of airships.

If you have any questions, we will be willing to answer.

We should be capable of facilitating all the airships mentioned in time. However at current they are an issue, but we have the space for them to land. Due to there size terminal space is not possible but landing space is. We can in the medium term set up terminals for your craft, how ever you will have to deal with tented terminals while we build.

For reference to typical airship-capable facilities, here is the airship section of the Nos'vi International Airport (a medium-sized conurbation):
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/NosviAerodrome.png
The large airship parking area takes advantage of the VTOL properties of airships, meaning that minimal space need be sacrificed. The area itself allows for up to ten 300m airships to make use of the area at any given time, or for a single 800m airship and two 300m airships. Since the majority of airship service to Nos'vi is in the form of freight, a large area is devoted to freight storage, processing and loading onto subsequent transport (normally the national maglev rail network). Most airship facilities follow a similar layout to this, with differences in facility size, the presence of hangers, and dedicated mooring zones being major differences (in this image, the Nos'vi dedicated mooring zone is not shown, being located five kilometres to the south over a large area of agricultural fields).

The company will be dealing the majority of the time with palletted goods, cutting down on logistic inconvenience. If it is necessary, the company can also provide fuelling services for airships stopping off at the terminal, with jobs being given to locals.

If any further help is needed, we will be happy to oblige.

Methane not a problem how ever we have little experience with air ships. But with luck we should have a terminal in place soon As for water..well rain has never been a problem for us ad as for other supplies we are near a MAT yard (high speed and heavy freight) that is bonded and soon a bonded port. So resupply is not an issue.

The sum provided, in addition to company contributions, should be adequate for the full construction of the following proposed terminal and its equipping with adequate equipment:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/PropsedAirfield.png
The terminal is larger than the comparable one from Nos'vi, with more space for the largest of airships that could land in the area.
In addition, the following passenger terminal for the airship area is being proposed:
http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn279/Tomahawk911/TerminalProposal.png

We hope the proposals are up to the expected standards of the host nation. Once complete, it is likely that mass interest will be sparked amongst other airshipping companies, both inside and outside Alfegos.

Greetings

Your request has been accepted, how ever we are a little unsure about what you mean in the section labeled 'Current Airlines/Destinations'. This is to allow you to state what destinations your airline services as locations that a passenger can travel onwards to from the airports your request routes service. Also I would help if you furnished us with the name of the sources airport of your fleet so as we can add it to our list of destinations (We assume you will be taking passengers both ways).

Yours
