There’s been increase activity of piracy in Pacifican waters since 2000. Their targeting civil merchant cargo freighters and cruise ships since. The Pacifican government has created a new taskforce to eliminate the threat, Taskforce 9 consisting of various naval ships.

I’ll be playing the Pacifican navy, a cargo freighter (of a foreign nation) is attacked by Pacifican pirates on the high seas. Taskforce 9 arrives on the scene to assess and rescue those stranded in the water. The survivors are escorted to a nearby Pacifican town, the injured are treated accordingly.

Taskforce 9 is then on the look out for the pirate vessel responsible until another ship is hijacked by another nation. They come across the abandoned crew. The pirates attack the Frigate PFS Plymouth. The Plymouth sustains serious damage and return to port.

Eventually the pirate commandeered vessel is taken control by the Special Boat Service (SBS) and returned to port for the corporation’s recovery. However piracy still remains active until further.

What I need is two people who’ll play two separate pirate factions who’ll be defeated by the Pacifican Navy. And people to play the commercial cargo freighters that get attacked.

If you have any other ideas of suggestions. Let’s hear them folks.

I'm keen to play a pirate faction. But I would also be interested in having NP get in on the action.

My thinking is that a Prosperitan merchant vessel, perhaps an oil tanker, could get attacked by the pirates. In response, the Prosperitan government would offer to send a frigate to assist the Pacificans in combating piracy.

I think that if I were to participate it would be something along Novus's line - maybe I could just send a frigate or corvette to help out? I don't want to do anything too much involved, to be honest. I've got other priorities. But this looks extremely interesting with a lot of potential. (*looks at map of globe, stares the sea of Somalia right in the face*)

I'll send in a dreadnought and it'll probably have some tensions with kenny though.

I don't think the Pacifican government would approve of a foreign power deploying a dreadnaught in it's waters. I'm looking for interested people to play the pirates at this point. Thank you for your interests at this time.

As Tolvan is vehemently anti-pirate, I'd be interesting in deploying a two or three ship task group to chase pirates.

If piracy is that much of a problem in Pacifican waters and the Pacifican government is struggling to deal with it, then I think there would be a lot of diplomatic pressure on Pacifica to accept international assistance or lose trade. I see no reason why this should not be a multi-national taskforce going after the pirates.

Technically as long as the multinational force stayed in international waters the Pacifican government really couldn't do anything about it unless it wanted to start a war. Of course I will only deploy forces if Pacifica OOCly authorises it.

Of course the Pacifican government wouldn’t attack a multinational taskforce outside of it’s waters. However, the pirates operations remain within Pacifican waters. Their operations began in 2000 and were known by authorities. They were only harassing fishing vessels until recent. Novus Prosperitas would be the only foreign power most likely to have it’s naval vessels join the Pacifican Taskforce because to an extent they have formal and cordial relations.

Tolvan, Kenavt: I thank you for your interest in this game. You’ll be allowed to send your separate taskforces to monitor international waters joined by another Pacifican Taskforce to ensure piracy doesn’t leave Pacifican waters.

The pirates size are the following:

1 “Mothership”
5 frigate-like vessels
15 gunboats
3,450 est pirates in total

Any idea when this RP will kick off?

I'm happy to donate some freighters to be plundered.

I'll just send a frigate or two, maybe a cruiser, nothing really special.

I might offer up a ship, but the Dominion Merchant Marine usually has a decent compliment of private security, even better quality if it's a private corporation like United WeaponsTech.

EDIT: Interesting idea along the lines of Clive Cussler's Oregon Files if any of you ever read them. Let's just say the pirates would in for a nasty shock.

I'm interested. I have a large terrorist group operating in my country, could I fit them part of the pirates?

No connection to foreign terrorists.

I'm rethinking the story for the time being.

I'm interested on playing as the Coast Guard in hunting Pirates.

Can my terrorist group be a separate group from the Pacifican pirates?
