Tension builds between The Chrisman Union and NorthernChenko

The chrisman union

Over 2 years ago, a bitter and bloody war between the Chrisman Union and the Former member state and then fledgling nation Northern Chenko rocked both their governments and left over 2,000 dead. The war lead to the collapse of the dictatorship government of Northern Chenko, which was replaced by a Chrisman Union backed democracy. The war also lead to the rise of socialism the Chrisman Union, which recently was out voted in an election by a democrat party.

However, following the discovery of a vast oil field in the DMZ between the two nations, both nations experienced an economic boom. Northern Chenko also discovered natural gas reserves, adding to its success. Chenko immediately put its newfound riches into rebuilding its army and regaining its status as a force to be reckoned with. Following this, army generals were given high government seats. Military parades in the streets of the nation's capital, Hwangbo, became the norm.

The Chrisman Union began stationing more troops within the DMZ, claiming the oil fields were theirs and that Northern Chenko had more than enough funds from natural gas. Chenko took this as an attempt to destroy the militaristic government and way of life and positioned their vast armies around the oil fields.

The stage is set. It's for war.

(OOC: This is open roleplay, free for all to join, couldn't fit it in the title box. NC and I are good friends and thought all this up, so this isn't godmodding. Anyhow, have fun!)

Subject: Stand down from the oil fields

It has come to my attention that you are attempting to take over the oil fields in our borderlands. I command you to stand down immediately. In response to your aggressive actions I am positioning a regiment of my forces near the fields. The oil is on neutral ground, and has been shared by both of us. I'm sure, being a veteran of the previous conflict, you remember that terrible war, and you don't want history to repeat.

Only this time, my nation isn't a tiny, oppressed nation-state. And this time, I'm not the one who is most likely to be crushed.

If you invade, good luck. You'll need it.

[OoC; It's the Christman Union, not the Christmas Union. Anyway, which side will be on the defense, because that's the side of hopping on.]

How is he going to learn unless you post a link to the stickies (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=543994)? Also IC is in character, and OOC: is out of character, basicly if you have questions about the thread or if your going to just chat with someone else. Also quoting is a nice thing so people know who you are talking about.

Ralkovia supported NorthernChenko under the reign of Emperor Josh, but unlike us you have not changed that is why Ralkovia will have to help The Chrisman Union should conflict break out. Ralkovia will be with the chrisman leaders approval 2 battalions of the High Guard and an armored division. They should arrive within the next 3 weeks perhaps even faster if we can reroute
3rd fleet from the conflict in the Southern Freelands. However you will have to supply food and water to the fleet.

[OoC; 101st, isn't it a little odd for you to be teaching about IC and OOC when you aren't using them properly?]

ooc: is that better? The other guy was using ooc and basically I use a loose style with that. It doesn't really matter though. Also it would be nice if you quoted stuff.

"Let me guess. Two more nations bringing their death threats to the international stage?" The Prime Minister Ashton Butler grabbed the fifth "Top Security" manilla folder from Foreign Affairs Minister Robert Ochiv. "Do these nations collaborate and try to spam the world's international message box? Oh, this week it's his turn. Nope, now it's February, time for them." Ashton sighed.

"Sir... um..." Robert tried to stifle a smirk. Ashton's always like this. "Can I at least get you to take a look at it? Ralkovia's already on the scene."

"What, you mean that one nation who needs a life besides threatening other little nations?" Ashton sighed. "Whatever, let's just send some carrier group over there, watch the situation, blah blah blah. What's it over, oil?"

"Sir, is it just me or are these always so predictable?" Robert smiled. "I must protest the use of force - it's my job description - but I'll give James a call, see if they can spare some ships."

"Sounds good. Now, what about that reformatting of our embassy program?"

The carrier group, consisting of a Ford-class aircraft carrier, two Wasp-class amphibious assault ships, two Zumwalt-class destroyers, three Ticonderoga-class cruisers, five Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigates, and two Virginia-class submarines, was officially headed to within five hundred kilometers of the demilitarized zone between the Chrisman Union and Northern Chenko.

The Grand Duchy of Volzgrad would like to announce it's official and wholehearted support for the nation of Northern Chenko. We will not stand idly by as a sovereign nation's territory is not only violated, but also threatened to be invaded by a corrupt dictatorship which only wishes to expand it's already far bloated ego. If hostilities breakout between the nations of Northern Chenko and the Christman Union, then we pledge to supply the Northern Chenkoan (OOC:Is that right?) Military with both arms and aid. If we deem it necessary, then a Volzgradien Imperial Army Group will be sent to Northern Chenko to repel the unjust Chrisman invaders.

"We roughly match them in ship numbers and class" XO Steve Baily commented.

President Veldt read through the numerous telegrams and bulletins that reached his office. Although there were many demands, offers and threats, the message was clear: history was repeating itself. Nations were siding with the dictator, or the "Oppressed", and a national humiliation was imminent. Ships of a multitude of navies, friendly and hostile, were massing on the coast.

However, there was one advantage. Ralkovia, one of the most powerful nations on the planet, was on their side. With their support, they'd easily paste any force that Northern Chenko threw at them. However, why was Ralkovia on their side? Ralkovia had sided with Chenko in the last conflict. But the PRCU needed the help.

Thank you for your support. Though hostilities have yet to start, by the looks of things war will be unavoidable. Your forces will be housed within the Chrisman Union.

Kind regard,
Christian Veldt
