Heirosoloa

[OoC; This is the beginning of my saga of war between two superpowers that emerged from my MT nation, Heirosoloa, once it reached the age of star travel. They are the High Federation of Heirosoloa, and the Grand Empire of Heirosoloa. Both blame each other for not saving the home world from destruction.]
The outpost planet of Tok slowly orbited it's Class K star, alone in the outer reaches of the High Federation of Heirosoloa. It was alone in a sense; there were no other planets orbiting the same Class K star. But the people living on the planet were very far from alone. Just the opposite, because they were currently under siege.
Just a week ago, a large invasion fleet had taken over similar outposts in another galactic expansion that pushed the borders of the High Federation back yet again. But no well placed hero with handy guerrilla strategies was holding off the small fleet left to completely take over, or more likely, destroy Tok. Only a few transmissions got away from the planet, all too weak to reach any remaining outpost planets.
Only stray starships would be able to pick up the messages, and few empires who knew the warring factions would dare to travel in the no-mans land between the HFH and the GEH. The borders were constantly patrolled, and every now and then a military excursion would leave the safety of one faction to take over the planets of another faction. The planets between the two powers had long since been abandoned by regular civilians, leaving brave merchants, mercenaries, and prisoners left.
And now another force had gone through to invade their enemies. Under normal circumstances the defenders would have eventually held them off, surrounded the attackers, and forced them to flee, with minor skirmishes occurring until the instigator of the skirmishes grew bored and retreated behind their border's.
However, this time it was very much different. The forces that had met the invasion fleet of the Grand Empire consisted of mercenaries that had easily been dispatched, with High Federation warships making no appearance, jumping out of Ethereal space to scout the situation, only to jump back in to the High Federation homeworld. However, once the Grand Empire began to pass through the various outposts and reached the colonies, the situation changed. Quickly. A large defensive fleet had engaged the invaders, and a full scale war was developing. As the Imperial fleet was slowly pushed beyond the outermost colonies back into outposts, reinforcements arrived for both sides, creating a very even playing field, where reinforcements could change the battle, a battle could change the tide, and the tide could win the war.
The battle at Tok itself was insignificant. But the reinforcements that would leave and join the invasion fleet would be very helpful for a Imperial fleet that had been lagging in the recent battles. Very helpful.
