A recently sacked Admiral in the Madurastan Navy has mounted a failed takeover of the Madurastan Government. The attempted coup occured just an hour after the Neutrality Act was passed in the Madurastan Senate.
Former Admiral David West tried to kidnap the Madurastan President, Jack Browning and take power. He along with 3 other former Navy Officers have been arrested on a charge of treason.
Martial Law is now in effect in Madurastan and the Government Sector of the city is under total lockdown. President Jack Browning will make a statement later today.

President Jack Browning's Statement:

'Today a coup was mounted against the Madurastan Government Sector in Liberty City. The Coup has failed and the plotters have been arrested and taken to the Liberty City Maximum Security Prison. I would like to say that the arguments about the issue of Madurastans Neutrality is suspected to be the reason the coup took place and the desire of the plotters to turn Madurastan into a dictatorship. I will continue to run Madurastan despite the attempt on my life and i hope that friendly governments will be by my side for the remaining month of my term as President.'

I thank you for your continued support. I am glad i have your friendship during these troubled times. The situation has stabled now, even with forces helping the Antigran Government in their civil war, we have new aircraft such as the F/A-18E Super Hornet Strike Fighter on our 3 new Aircraft Carriers and also the start of construction on the new base in Thive. At the moment a permanant airstrip has been constructed that regularly supports military traffic into the base.

We would like to ask whether a joint technological venture can be arranged to build a new weapons for export. We make military hardware but our manufacturing up to now has been just for the Madurastan Military's purposes only. Is that a possible arrangement?
